Danish Imam Knew of Suicide Operation

Fri, Mar 24, 2006 at 4:21:36 pm PST

Agora reports breaking news from Denmark: Imam Abu Laban, the Islamic cleric who toured the Middle East whipping up the Arab Street over the Danish Mohammed cartoons, apparently knew about a planned “martyrdom operation.”

Smile! You’re on candid camera.

Why haven’t any American journalists done similar kinds of exposés?

Most American journalists are traitors.

They should all get their cars keyed and we should all walk our German Shepherds on their lawns.

That comment was childish.

Charles,

A better question is why hasn't Israel indicted this bastard as a co-conspirator, and requested his extradition? Zacarias Mussauoi is facing the death penalty for essentially the same thing.

I hope he gets it, too.

15 Colt  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:28:57pm

Charles,

The journalist who went undercover is Mohamed Sifaoui. He's been pulling this shit on Islamists for years. He wrote a diary of his time undercover in a GSPC support cell in Paris called Inside al-Qaeda. Truly, one of the good guys.

16 Buckaroo  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:29:28pm

These are the skirmishes that must be fought now, before the demogrpahics makes it worse in europe ...

The good news is we can count on the jihadis to constantly overplay their hand -- that's the only upside of dealing with fanactics -- and hence we can expose them and force their followers into a very simple choice -- individual liberty, incarceration, deportation, or worse ...

And risk the wrath of thier new Islamic overlords? I don't think so.

I'd settle for one of the 'major' outlets showing the cartoons.

God keep him safe!

Now, is it possible for him to continue these sorts of operations anymore? I mean, won't every imam on the continent go mute when they see him now?

21 Jheka  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:31:31pm

Boy, Agora is lucky that he didn't draw a cartoon about it.

Seriously "martyrdom operation." he could have been referring to a bake sale or something. Hey! Look over there! QUAGMIRE!

Giggity.

Most would prefer to allow the martyrdom operation only if they could get advance notice and get the scoop on the 6:00 news to show how Bush and Rumsfield have made us less safe. Most of these J School graduates in the MSM have no allegiance to this country. They consider themselves objective "world citizens."

I just wish they would find another part of the world to live in. Perhaps the Sudan where they could practice their profession?

26 Celissa  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:36:30pm

A little video that shows how I feel about Laban, the MSM and murderous, cowardly, terrorist thugs in general.

Not for the easily offended or those at work.

Thank God these guys are on our side.

27 Luigi  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:37:46pm

Melanie Phillips in a piece [Link: www.melaniephillips.com...] on Prince Charles points to Ruth Gledhill's blog [Link: timescolumns.typepad.com...] in which three stages of Islam are (eventually -- scroll down) discussed. The stages correspond to the chronology of Mohammad's life and generally move from peaceful tolerance to jihad as he grew in power. These stages, or periods, explain internal contridictions within the Koran, sometimes calling for non-compulsion in religion and sometimes for slaying 'idolaters', like me for instance. The article also models events in Europe to these stages of development

In Islamic societies which are complete i.e. have some form of Shariah law and are therefore closest to Mohammed’s third period, you see these aggressive attitudes to other religions writ large. In those who are closest to the second period, such as the Mogul rule of India, there is more tolerance, and in those where Muslims are a minority, such as the UK and France the philosophy of the first period applies. In places like northern
Nigeria we are seeing a transition from stage two to stage three. Some argue that in the UK, France and Holland we are seeing a transition from stage one to stage two.'
28 Killgore Trout  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:39:05pm
Imam Abu Laban is speaking of a man who plans to execute a martyr operation in connection with the Battle of Khartoon:
...
{He’s contacted Amr Moussa and he means to wreak absolute havoc.}

I'm still a bit fuzzy on exactly what the quote says but Amr Moussa is The Arab League’s secretary-general.
Agora is burnin' up the web these days. Where would we be without the blogs?

29 Colt  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:41:02pm

Yes, the Moussa reference is interesting. Would the Arab League get involved in terrorism?

Well, yeah, probably...

30 Killgore Trout  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:44:59pm

Amr Moussa served as Egypt’s ambassador to India in 1967 and was appointed as a permanent representative to the United Nations in 1990.
Now why would someone like that be in contact with a wanabe 'splodeydope?
Where was this martyrdom operation supposed to take place? Denmark? London? Iraq?

31 jrdroll  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 2:45:38pm

Here's Moussa on the Khartoons:

Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa on Monday considered the Prophet Mohammed’s cartoons as part of a “battle against Islam”...

Check LGF's links on the Arab League. The first one is how Amr Moussa didn't believe Osama bin Laden was responsible for 9/11, dated 11/12/01.

WOW! I wonder if this is going to have legal repercussions for Amr Mussa and the Arab League.

36 Ann  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 3:26:02pm

And let's not forget those who defend this type of crap :

The defense argued that Moussaoui had NO legal obligation to confess his al-Qaida membership and his terrorist plans to federal agents. The defense began its case with a summary of the federal government's failings in tracking two known al-Qaida associates who were among the 19 hijackers.

No conspiracy, because he did not have to reveal it.

Never ceases to amaze me.

That is terrible! Does no one in France have any balls anymore besides their Muslims? Cowards have been too busy drinking wine and making fun of Americans to remember how to survive. Hard to feel sorry for them.

No conspiracy, because he did not have to reveal it.

Worse than that. By that logic, there can be no such thing as a confession. Which BTW has been attempted in death penalty cases where the defendent tries to forfiet appeal, and the moonbat lawyers sue to be able to appeal on his behalf anyway, against his will.

39 peachie  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 3:48:56pm

As of yet not one word in the MSM in the UK about what these snakes have been up to.

Depressing stuff.

Meanwhile, those assholes peace activists rescued after being held hostage in Iraq for four months not only didn't say thanks, they have refused to co-operate with an intelligence unit sent to debrief them.

40 Ann  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 3:55:15pm

#38 Earth2moonbat

By that logic, there can be no such thing as a confession.

The moonbat logic is to give strength to the weak. Doesn't matter if the weak is evil, it still needs to be strengthened in order to weaken the evil of might versus right.

I can't wait for his testimony next week.

Jihadis are so stupid. He will spout his hatred of dar al harb.

If self-absorbed Americans get enough of this preaching, we may get it.

If only the MSM will report it.

41 Midwest Pundit  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 4:05:25pm

Abu Laban has serious links to terror but this has been strangely ignored by the MSM since the controversy started:

Imam Ahmad Abu Laban, the man behind this whole Danish cartoon controversy, not only faked obscene cartoons on his trip to the Middle East, but also has questionable links to terror:

* Entertained the "Blind Sheikh" behind the first World Trade Center attacks
* Praised Osama Bin Laden after 9-11 Attacks
* Preached he "Shed no tears" after 9-11 Attacks
* Accused of giving Political support to Osama bin Laden's network
* Accused of giving Financial support to Osama bin Laden's network
* Joined with 225 Islamic Radicals to form Global Jihadist Group in 2003
* Said that Theo van Gogh - "Had it coming!"
* Called on his flock to Give Their Lives to Global Jihad for Palestinians
* Met with Sheikh Qaradawi in Saudi Arabia who has legalized the murder of American soldiers in Iraq

Gosh, for a little rural town regional paper, Jyllands-Posten is breaking a LOT of ground. You might say if the WaPo was watergate's 'paper of record', Jyllands-Posten is the WoTs 'paper of record' at least since the Cartoon kerfuffle. Well done!

43 Lousy-ana-Texan  Fri, Mar 24, 2006 4:29:45pm

The MSM could actually boost it's reputation with the American public if it covered this story. That said, they probably won't cover it because to the MSM the American public are nothing but a bunch of unintelegent hicks who only want boobs and beer.

From your referenced story - Released hostages 'refuse to help their rescuers'....

A deal had been struck with a man detained the previous night who was one of the leaders of the kidnappers. He was allowed a telephone call to warn his henchmen to leave the kidnap house. When the troops moved in and found the prisoners alive, they also let him go as promised.

Wasn't that guy responsible for the murder of the first kidnapee?

Well, @hit, the frogs haven't successfully defended themselves since... I don't know, that goes too far back in history. Oh, but they have been pretty successful at killing non-Catholics over the ages - Hugonauts, Protestants, Jews, and lots of Muslims during the Crusades.

This time I hope we don't go riding to their rescue as we did in 1917 and 1944.
