Sun, Apr 23, 2006 at 8:47:43 pm PDT

There were huge demonstrations tonight in Belgium, for a teenager stabbed to death by Muslim immigrants: Thousands march in Brussels in memory of teen.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - More than 80,000 people marched in silence through Brussels on Sunday in memory of a teenager stabbed to death by two suspects of North African origin in Belgium’s biggest protest in 10 years, police said.

Joe Van Holsbeeck, 17, was stabbed five times in the chest during the evening rush hour on April 12 when he refused to hand over his MP3 player to the men in the central railway station.

On the request of Van Holsbeeck’s parents, marchers did not carry any political banners but Van Holsbeeck’s death triggered an uproar over crime and racial tension in Belgium.

The federal prosecutor’s office said on the basis of video footage from security cameras, two men of North African origin were suspected of carrying out the crime.

Leaders of the Muslim community in Brussels said they were disturbed by the stabbing and immams called at Friday prayers for people to turn in the suspects if they knew who they were.

Obviously, the MP3 player must have said something offensive to Muslims. The boy obviously deserved death. Perhaps it was an IPOD with those awful cartoons. I'm getting faint whispers of the Emporer in Star Wars..."Wipe them out...all of them."

If this is true, its good news. The better news, however, is that 80,000 Belgians marched in protest.

Mini, mini French awakening:

France denies visa to Hamas minister

This is the second times in as many weeks that France has denied a visa to a Hamas representative to attend a conference on its soil, and the third time that Hamas representatives haven't been allowed into Europe in less than a month. Belgium denied a visa to a Hamas representative at the end of March.

Unlike the other two refusals, which were explained as due to "technical reasons*," this was the first time that a European official came out and said that the visa was denied in line with European policy to cut off political contact with the Hamas-led PA.

See no need for cops the imams are on the case.

The authorities only need to cede over a little more control and they will have the situation under control.

Sory to cross-post, but I just realized that the Cycle of Violence thread has been dead for an hour.

The latest AP story in the sidebar, Deadly Month Continues for Troops in Iraq, states:

At least 61 American service members have died in April, putting it on track to pass January — with 62 — as the deadliest month this year. It represents a jump over March, which with 31 deaths was the lowest monthly toll for the Americans since February 2004.

Numbers at a DoD page listing casualties are different, though.
1. AP claims 62 deaths in January, but the DoD says 42.
2. AP says that the 62 deaths in January was the deadlies month this year, but DoD says that February, with 44, was.
3. AP says that there were 31 deaths in March, but the DoD says 26.

The DoD page is part of this site.

Anyone know if the DoD numbers are right, and AP is full of shit?

The stabbing happened at Brussels' "Centraal Station" which may sound like the main train station -- but which anyone who has arrived in Brussels by trains knows, it is not the main station at all -- "Brussels Nord" is the actual main station. Like countless travelers beofre me, I once made the mistake of getting off at "Centraal," at night. I found myself in the middle of a very crime-ridden neighborhood, which at the time seemed more populated by Congolese immigrants than by "north" Africans.

But I could easily see this kid getting mugged and stabbed in that area -- it seemed like the worst neighborhood in all of Belgium.

With no (almost certainly offensive) signs or banners clearly stating who's to blame and what's needed (read DEMANDED), this fearful march does nothing but further drive upper-middle-class Christians out of the country.
And that's exactly the Imams' plan.

If Israelis abandoned Israel tomorrow, they'd immediately start increasing the rhetoric and attacks on Spain -- they are next. Europe's awakening is too late.

Each time that I visit Europe I see new mosques and men loafing around them and the nearby neighborhoods. The old Catholic churches have in them tourists and occasionally a few old parishoners in a small, sequestered area.
It's a museum not a church, and the locals only wish it would fall down so they wouldn't be taxed for it. In some of those countries only stodgy Catholics and Lutherans are allowed -- no evangelists there, period!

That story is several days old.
It's a start, they really need to wake up faster than they're doing it...if they're really doing it at all.

Will Europe have little demonsrations like this, as was the case in the late '30s...which didn't really amount to much?
Or are they going to get serious and really take their continent back?

For some reason, I feel the need to post about yesterday's story (AP, via LA Times) about an incident on an American airplane.

Passengers aboard a United Airlines flight had some help when they had to take matters into their own hands to prevent Jose Manuel Pelayo-Ortega from allegedly trying to bring their plane down.

Three Secret Service agents who were headed west to join President Bush's entourage joined other passengers to subdue Pelayo-Ortega when he tried to open one of the doors on the Airbus A-320, officials said.

...passenger Joe Pena, a senior airman at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif., described the incident as like a bar fight. "I heard a bunch of commotion, and I heard somebody yell, 'What are you doing?' and 'Get down!' then I saw the guy put into a chokehold, put on his back and pinned down so he couldn't move," Pena said in Sacramento after hugging his tearful wife, Candy.

The newspaper reported that passengers and crew members, including the Secret Service agents, subdued Pelayo-Ortega and then duct-taped him to his seat as a restraint.

The Muslim population of Belgium, a country with a little over 10 million (mostly Catholic), is maybe 5% or less. How much of an illegal population they have, I don't know.

Is she a black lab or a chocolate lab?

She's neither, she's yallow.

Have a look.

Labs are the best dogs on the planet except for the fact that during their first two years of life they must put everything they see into their mouth. I mitigate this by controlling my pup's environment.

Gawsh, my kid (8) and her friends tackle this dog and my pup takes it in style, never ever ever a mean streak, none. Never a growl or even a yelp.

Labbies are tough tough tough but need lots of exercise, I take mine at least two and a half miles a day, and when it is warm that includes some tennis ball retrieving from the local lake. She is bred to retrieve and lusts after diving in the water. What a treat to watch her swim like a fish.

Holy keerap, I'm way off-topic, sorry.

Nothing good can happen in EUrope. The Rage and the Pride describes what happens to anyone who attempts to confront Muslim aggression with anything but abject dhimmitude. Notice the vigil, not really a protest, wasn't political. That's because anything approaching criticism of the EU's grand social experiment* (import millions of Muslims, don't encourage any assimilation, cave in to all of Muslim demands) will get you hounded, threatened, and eventually dragged into court. The EUropeans are terrified of the Muslim threat in many cases, but their governments will come down on them like a ton of bricks for simply making true statements.

Reading passages from the Qur'an or hadith can bring legal trouble, unless you're a Muslim, then it's a ticket to call for the extermination of the Jews (Sweden).

Some nations are lost: France, Belgium, and Sweden would top my list. Any nation which follows EU policy is doomed eventually.

The Force of Reason goes further in outlining the really creepy Islamic threats, legal attacks, and ugly rhetoric Fallaci received for writing The Rage and the Pride. She goes further describing how innocent truth-telling is a criminal offense in most of Europe. A French poster at Jihad Watch confirmed this, along with Fjordman, and many others.

Leaders of the Muslim community in Brussels said they were disturbed by the stabbing and immams called at Friday prayers for people to turn in the suspects if they knew who they were.

In other words, the imams run the show. The rules laid down in Friday prayers come before any sense of right and wrong, loyalty to secular laws, or respect for their host nation.

When we have to wait for imams to say go or no-go on murder, the battle is lost. It's just a question of negotiating the best surrender. Hoorah! Belgium and France specialize in writing surrender documents.

Sorry... A classic bumber sticker alteration until In and Out got wind and stopped producing the bumper stickers.

A very Christian organization. They own the property their stores are built on.

It's an amazing brand. No matter where you have an In and Out, the kids are clean cut, well spoken and courteous. Also speak flawless English.

This must be a confusing time for Belgians. They copiously read their Socialist papers, listen to the left-leaning news, then suddenly reality has upset the chocolate box. They were comfortable with simply blaming America for everything that is wrong with the world. One event is not going to completely change their minds or force them to leave their comfort zone. Hell, 10,000 cars buring in France has not really had that much of an effect on their neighbors. 80K marching is encouraging, but not if they simply want peace at any cost.

Here's the overall situation.

The cops trying to blame the victim.

Joe was savagely stabbed to death Wednesday a week ago when he refused to hand over his MP3 player to the North Africans. Immediately after the assassination the police inquired whether Joe had made any “racist remarks” whilst been mugged, but Joe and his family and friends were not racists.

This only makes sense if you understand EU policy since de Gaulle.

It would be funny how incredibly misguided and obviously stupid EEC-EU scheming was, IF there weren't so many actual victims in the indigenous European population. Just the rapes in Malmo, Sweden suck all the schadenfreude out of the EU disaster.

Thank you for the links.

Just the rapes in Malmo, Sweden suck all the schadenfreude out of the EU disaster.

They hate me (American), but I can't stand to see innocent people suffer for the mistakes of meglomaniacal leaders.

Exactly. I think about that poor young girl whose vocal chords were crushed when she was gang-raped by the 7th century savages of Allah (and who will therefore be reminded of her rape and the rapists everytime she speaks for rest of her life) and it's just not worth any snickering about arrogant Euros getting their comeuppance.

If the Euros had never imported hordes of their sworn enemies, and had only gone about their ignorant and anti-American ways of deliberately rejecting or doing the opposite of what we do (e.g., economically) just to give us the finger, I would have happily sat back and waited for the eventual implosion of their systems and resultant social upheavals, and chuckled.

But the chaos and violence that has resulted from the EEC and EAD scheming is not brutalizing and terrorizing the elites that encouraged and caused it (excepting Anna Lindh), but the regular citizenry, especially the children and young people, who as you know are regularly preyed upon by the children of the "immigrants" (lets just call them what they are: invaders). This is why I can't join in with the "Burn Europe, burn" and "They're only getting what they deserve" attitudes. It's mostly not the ones who "deserve" it who are "getting" it.

#143 rayra

I told Camel Prophet years ago that the Europeans out-"tribal" the Muslims and that eventually they're going to revert to form and utterly annihilate their invaders. It will require continuous, unyielding outrages committed against the citizenry for them to finally throw off their socialist, pc shackles for the backlash to manifest, but it will. What sort of outrages remains to be seen, but knowing the jihadis, they'll show their asses too soon instead of slowly wearing the Euros down through sustained low-level terrorism--and then watch out.

Yes, it's a Pandora's Box.

But the report is about much more than Iran going nuclear. And unfortunately, from what I saw in the papers (and wrote in my blog) it sounds like it was written from a LLL slant that is promoting the disengagement surrender.

213 El matamoros  Sun, Apr 23, 2006 10:37:36pm

AS to a "European backlash", Well there is a term called "Living Memory" This is when people are still around who remeber first hand certain events in history. The plain fact is When My gran mammy was 20 (living memory) The Euros went crazy and began all kinds of scary "race supremacy" and war and what not. All within one persons lifetime. Of course the difference being the Jews did'nt deserve it and werent "out to conquer the world" like the muslims so proudly shout. But Even skipping WWII, prior to that there was plenty of crazyness and could happen again. For example Protestant Vs. Catholic, Catholic vs. orthodox, Pogroms, Bonapartists vs. Monarchists, etc etc. Look at my user name and you'll see something of that history ;)

If you can make the Dutch Firebomb your mosques you are in deep shisse!

It will happen unless they are booted out or Assimilated. But we cant really blame the "elites" of euroland for allowing Muslims to flood in, they ignored history and now must pay for it. TO them ,as to us, prior to 2001, The "arabs" were just a quiant, poor, desert people, who even knew what their religion was? Of course now that people have begun to read history books they are awakening. And lets also not forget that unlike America with its' "anchor babies" and what not, Most immigrants remain "non-citizens" as do their children and can be booted out even to the 3rd generation. ITs a lot harder to get citizenship from most Euro countries than it is here. So if at any time the Euros decide to expel people they wont have "red tape" and all the "we are citizens too" crap. The fact is Muslims are already complaining about an "iron curtain" being brought down between the ME and Europe. :) So, maybe it's still not too late!

Does it really still exsist. I don't think so. It's getting tiresome listening to their excuses for attacking the Israeli population. Really, we get it. You want to kill the Jews and there's been ongoing war for 60 years with some temporary lulls. No need to bring up the latest act of Israeli self defense.

I think they like hearing themselves talk. It's not a cycle of violence, just a big blob of violence. If they didn't launch missiles they'd stab someone at a bus stop or blow up a restaurant.

They still bitch about losing Spain and the Ottoman Empire. Like they need a recent missile strike on some terrorists.

When the guns and knives and cobblestones fly, I'm sure the EU ministers will be remembered. That's another fine european tradition.

LOL no scheisse. "Flying cobblestones" connecting with sneering, self-righteous Euro-elite heads is a glorious image and one I hope to one day see. I truly hope that when the troubles really get started, the politicians, media creatures, academics, and other people responsible are not allowed to emigrate, smug socialism intact, to the US. They should be forced to wallow in the fecal swamp of their labors, although I know that most likely they will indeed escape in the end, and the plebes will be left with the task of cleaning up the mess created by their "betters".

What's most infuriating about that scenario is that the Euro-elites who do escape will never even consider for a moment that it was their own policies and beliefs that were at fault for the catastrophe that befell their countries, and will continue with their idiot arrogant socialism, try to insinuate themselves into the nations that give them refuge, and work to implement those same failed belief-systems in those same generous nations.

ADDENDUM to my #176

I was WRONG about Anna Lindh's killer. Apparently he was an actual psychopath and not a jihadi. (And no, I don't consider jihadis to be psychopaths as that absolves them of responsibility for their actions on behalf of the moon-demon)

Don't forget that Wednesday, April 26 is Secretary's Day. Except that secretaries no longer like to be called secretaries, so it was changed to Administrative Professionals Day. Now I see some genius has copyrighted the term Administrative Professionals Day, because on my calendar, in fine print, at the bottom of April, it says "Administrative Professionals Day is a registered trademark of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP)". (Sounds like commies).

So every company who prints a calendar and designates April 26 "Administrative Professionals Day" has to send a check (made out in rubles) to the IAAP? And don't you dare leave it off your calendar, for not only will your own secretaries be mad at you, but the IAAP will send it's high-heeled goons to picket your company, augmented by members of the International Brotherhood of Florists.

Isn't political correctness fun!

Speaking of gas prices, here in Israel a gallon of gas costs about 24 shekels. Since we earn money here in shekels, try imagining spending 24 bucks a gallon! That is why it is a common perk for professionals here to receive a company car - they pay a monthly fee for leasing (which comes off before taxes) and do not have to pay extra for gas.

225 littleoldlady  Sun, Apr 23, 2006 11:37:07pm

#224 good morning, westbankmama!

One shekel = one dollar? How many shekels is a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread? And what's the average weekly income in shekels?

I've discussed WWII with many French people on the Internet. They aren't aware of the Phony War, a golden opportunity to cross into Germany when the German military was tied up in Poland, splitting it with Stalin.

Then they talk about the German tanks. Ah, Froggie, you had more tanks than the Germans when they attacked you in 1940, and better quality tanks. But you used them WWI-style, as infantry support vehicles. The Germans had panzer divisions while the French were prepped for trench warfare.

Never admitting mistakes precludes learning from mistakes.

In the case of this European scheme gone horribly wrong, I think Charles Martel must be doing triple axles in his grave.

227 westbankmama  Sun, Apr 23, 2006 11:48:55pm

Good morning littleoldlady! No, one dollar is about 4.6 shekels. My point was that since we earn money in shekels and not dollars, saying that a gallon of gas here costs about five dollars doesn't really mean much. A quart of milk costs about 4.7 shekels, which mean a gallon is about 19 shekels. As far as average income, what is considered average here is below the poverty line (I think) in America. The average yearly is about 85,000, divided by 4.6 comes to roughly 19,000 dollars a year.

228 Tamron  Sun, Apr 23, 2006 11:49:41pm

Good morning, ladies.

Currently one US dollar is worth approx. 4.5 Israeli Shekels, translating 24-shekels-per-gallon to approximately USD $5. per gallon of gas.

In Iraq they're currently paying less than $.30 per gallon of gas. Wonder why?

There's a silver lining in that cloud.

Since the country has a mass affliction with NIMBY Syndrome, if the terrorists are threatening to hit Tel Aviv with missiles, maybe some of the Yuppies in places like Ramat Aviv and Bavli (the wealthy neighborhoods of North Tel Aviv which tend to be VERY LLL) will understand what people in Sderot and Ashkelon have been going through on a daily basis since the government surrendered Gaza last summer.

The Unix box was acting all funky - software errors, arbitrary reboots without warning, and just plain shutting itself off, also without warning. All symptoms of a CPU overheating. A guy popped the side panel off Friday, and I simply couldn't believe how much crap (dust) was inside that thing. It's not a wonder that it had problems - it's a wonder it worked at all. Computers (ALL computes) pull air in and run it over the electronics, then blow it out. In the process, they act as primitive air filters by depositing dust on everything inside. When the dust builds up to a nice, insulating blanket, causing the electronics to heat up, bad to very bad things happen. This is a commen problem, and easy to rememdy if one has the wit to know it. CLEAN THE DAMNED THING !

Listened to Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" this morning on morning commute:

He brought up an excellent point- a USAF officer named Franklin was sentenced to 13 years for passing info about US strategic plans about Iran to Israel.

He took an oath, and he broke the law. But Israel is usually a fairly reliable ally, Iran is a potential enemy that already has indirectly killed hundreds, maybe thousands of Americans. So, he probably didn't feel he was hurting the US.

Mary McCarthy also took an oath as a CIA agent. She was also a big Democrat contributor for her salary. Her leak was designed to hurt the wartime administration.

If she isn't prosecuted, and doesn't receive at least the sentence Franklin got, something isn't right.

Islamic Law at Belmont U

by Daniel Pipes
FrontPageMagazine.com
April 24, 2006
[Link: www.danielpipes.org...]

Who would have thought that Belmont University of Nashville, Tennessee, would apply the Islamic law to its staff? But just that happened earlier this month.

Bill Hobbs, a Republican political advisor, blogger, and news writer for Belmont, which bills itself as "the largest Christian university in Tennessee," was upset in February 2006 about the cowardice of the American media in not publishing the Danish cartoons. So he drew a primitive cartoon of his own and posted it on his personal site. It sat in obscurity until April 5, when a Democratic political operative, Mike Kopp, wrote about it, calling it

a bizzare page with the heading Draw Mohammed that spotlights a stick drawing of the Prophet Mohammed holding a bomb. The cartoon is entitled "Mohammend Blows." Under the cartoon Hobbs issues an invite to "exercise your right to free expression by drawing pictures of Islam's Prophet Mohammed". He ends the post with the phrase "Here's my first mo-toon." All this was posted at 12:40 pm, on Friday, February 24, 2006.

Hobbs responded within a few hours on Kopp's website, writing (spelling mistakes uncorrected):

I live in America, and am blessed to have the First Amendment, and am angry that the American media is too cowardly in the face of Islamofacists to run the cartoons. I posted that cartoon, and invited others to draw their own cartoons, as a way of protesting both American media cowardice and Islamist attempts to suppress free speech via threats of bombs and bullets and burning and beheading. But then I never publicized the site and, quite frankly, forgot is was up until today.

P.S. I am insensitve toward religions that have a large number of adherents who are running around blowing stuff up and threatening to kill non-believers over cartoons. Yes, I plead insensitivity. I would prefer my children not grow up in a world governed by Islamofacists.

"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A controversial television seance airing on Monday will claim it has reached the spirit of John Lennon, but viewers will have to pay $9.95 to find out what the peace-loving Beatle has to say.

The special, being carried on pay-TV service In Demand, was organized by the producers of a 2003 attempt to channel the late Princess Diana. That show failed to find Diana and received reviews that could have sunk the Titanic but it is estimated to have grossed close to $8 million.

I believe that when the muslims in America become a very large majority from their breeding programs and being allowed to have 4 wives, some of which can be as young a 6 and can be made to have sex at 9 years old, they will out breed us. But, once this does occur, then the muslims will start blowing up churches, synogogues, gays, lesbians, athesists, and any news media that does not follow the islamic line. Wence this happens, the storm of the red states will begin. When the population of the red states does drive out these satan worshipping pigs and monkeys, those of you who did not support out was just and right will have to pay a heavy price for the death of our sons and daughters.

JEDDAH, 21 April 2006 — An unexpectedly huge crowd of applicants turned up in Riyadh on Wednesday when 500 job vacancies were announced, causing chaos and injuring several people as they jostled to submit their applications, Al-Watan newspaper reported yesterday.

The Passport Department in Riyadh was swamped by 10,000 applicants according to the newspaper. They pushed and kicked, knocking several youths unconscious and injuring others. Officials at the counters could not cope with the waves of applicants scrambling to reach the counter at the northern gate of the department. Overwhelmed by the furious youths, the recruitment officials who were trying their best to complete the formalities of registration after receiving the applicants’ files, had to suspend the process, the newspaper reported.

The applicants, who came from across the Kingdom, had begun to converge in front of the department and in nearby streets since Tuesday morning. Many of them had been sleeping on the sidewalks or in their cars.

In view of the increasing number of applicants gathered in front of the department before nightfall on Tuesday, the department’s authorities decided to start the registration and reception of applications at 1 a.m., hours ahead of the originally scheduled time. However the youths with no apparent reason at all grew impatient and started to shout and heckle, disregarding instructions to queue up quietly before the counters.

They shouted at the officials and accused that the officials of dumping their files in a box without recording such details as the weight and height of each applicant. Some of them even attacked the officials at the counter and the officials were forced to stop their work. ...

I deer hunt. I do not use a salt lick. Most of the deer I shoot are between 100 and 200 yard freehand shots with a 30-06(strap only).

I do eat venison and probably kill 2 deer a year. I do not kill bucks unless they are 8 pt or better (meaning I will probably kill 2 over the next 5 - 10 years)

They don't always come out. But being outside is relaxing. Shooting deer is actually a pain in the ass because you then have to clean them.

It is actually more difficult than the hunting shows, the deer have a better sense of smell and I have spent many a day never seeing anything othar than squirrels. (and have been tempted to blast them with a 30-06 for chattering at me.)

I also agree with you. I think Deer have a sixth sense about people. I have been out in the woods nailing signs to trees, or doing cleanup and had bucks and does go right by. Once a buck popped out of a ravine about 100 feet from where I was throwing rocks out of the back of my truck and he he just watched me and walked away.
Go outdoors with any sort of firearm, forget it. Never see nothing. I let a few people hunt my land, it's necesary and it's also difficult to get a good deer.

Iran says US to be humiliated if it attacks

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's defense minister said on Monday that any U.S. military attack over its nuclear programme would result in a humiliating defeat for the United States, the official IRNA news agency reported.

He was speaking on the anniversary of an attempt in 1980 by the U.S. military to rescue Americans held hostage in the U.S. embassy in Tehran. The mission failed when the helicopters crashed in a sand storm in the Tabas desert in eastern Iran.
"If America chooses the military option a humiliating defeat worse than their failure in the Tabas desert will await them," Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar was quoted by IRNA as saying.

Iran says the sand storm was "divine wrath."

Let's peruse some of Bob's quotes, shall we...

March 23, 2003
"In Umm Qasr, the fighting is fierce and we have inflicted many damages. The stupid enemy, the Americans and British, failed completely. They're not making any penetration."

As Televised Reports of U.S. Forces Approaching the Outskirts of Western Baghdad Are Shown:
"They are not any place. They are on the move everywhere. They are a snake moving in the desert. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion."

After U.S. Forces Seized Baghdad's Airport:
"We butchered the force present at the airport. We have retaken the airport! There are no Americans there!"

After U.S. Troops Penetrated Central Baghdad:
April 5, 2003
"Nobody came here. Those America losers, I think their repeated frequent lies are bringing them down very rapidly... Baghdad is secure, is safe."

April 5, 2003

Someone mentioned weather? Last week was as nice as could be here in the NY/NJ area, then it rained all weekend up to around 3 pm yesterday, and then we had some sun.

This morning I desperately wanted to stay in bed but sucked it up and made my commute in carwash-like conditions and remarkably made it to the office in under an hour. A busy week ahead, but I have a three-day weekend to celebrate my birthday, when I will enjoy unlimited sports viewing and a visit to Ruth's Chris.

Speaking of sports, the NYG made a great move in signing Lavar Arrington. They improve their LB corps while weakening the Redskins, and the money invested is laden heavily with incentives, so they do not make as big a financial commitment as Arrington had sought. Plus they can look at another position with their first pick Saturday (CB or a speedy WR).

If the Giants can navigate their treacherous schedule, they should be a bonafide Super Bowl contender.

I've thought it may be time to get that future replacement for Tiki, entering his 10th season; good RB's can be had late first round and in later rounds. I like this kid Lawrence Maroney from Minnesota, who's projected as the 2nd or 3rd RB to go. I might take a flyer on LenDale White if he's still there at 25. He's been out of shape in the offseason, but he's a smart player and scored 57 TD's at Tailback U (USC).

They've really beefed up the secondary and LB's, so they can also look at DT and possibly another young CB now.

They're in position for a good run now. Every current starter from last year is signed through at least 2008, so they have a good core to make some noise. Let's hope.

So here e SF Bay area,( good morning fellow lizarrds) here is an little observation of LLL indoctrination:
Went to the Lindsey Museum yesterday with my 9 year old ( a children's wildlife museum) and they had a special exhibit of Ansel Adams and " works inspired by AA" We were checking ou thte pics and there first was a racy pic of Salome, which raised my brow and made my child actually ask " what the heck was that all about?". Then around the bend was a BW nude of a woman frolicking in the woods. In a children's museum exhibit. I calmy walked upstairs and askek the lady at the desk why that was 1) allowed and 2) why was there not at least a warning for people with small children. She said it was put together in Oakland, and they are obligated to show the exhibit as is with no change or warnings.WTF? and she would NOT tell me who to notify of my diastisfaction with such utter nonsense.
I am going to get to the bottom of this and display great amounts of dipspleasurew with these nut cases.

Hi Ward. Thanks. It's a Saab. BF mentioned it might be a head gasket or some form of gasket problem when the smoke started on Friday afternoon. PK has theorized this could be the problem as well.

I tallied up what I've spent on repairs (because I'm masochistic like that) since I bought it in 2002 with only 15K miles and it came to approximately $6000...and I think that's coming in low.

I guess now isn't the time to mention that my last two vehicles were pretty good. One was a GMC S-15 pickup which when I got rid of it was 15 years old with a little over 200K miles. Other then oi changes and routine maintenance no problems. I had the transmission redone once even though the mechanic said it didn't really need it. I drove that truck hard.
I now have a Ford F-150 with almost 100K which is 10 years old and the biggest expense so far has been filling it up with gas.

Iran President: Israel Is a 'Fake Regime'

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday renewed his criticism of Israel, calling it a "fake regime" that cannot continue to exist.

"Some 60 years have passed since the end of World War II. Why should the people of Germany and Palestine pay now for a war in which the current generation was not involved?" Ahmadinejad said at a news conference.

"We say that this fake regime (Israel) cannot not logically continue to live," he said.

Cheaper than a new Saab, though. But look at the smaller line, the Imprezza/WRX. You don't have to go all out with the STi. The lowly WRX Sport with a mere 240 bhp is a pretty sweet ride - I've driven one, a wagon. One of the safest cars on the road to boot. But both the wife and the older daughter drive Outbacks - 'Cadillac' rides. Far too nice for dad.

realwest,

Considering Tiki still has a few years left in him and he just amassed 2390 yards combined this past year (second most in NFL history), signing a big-name/big money FA at RB wouldn't make financial sense (only Shaun ALexander and Edgerrin James were available at huge bucks).

The kid Brandon Jacobs will get more time this year, thought I don't see him as an every down back. So I would go RB with maybe the first or second pick and prepare to have him maybe be the heir to Tiki come 2008/09 or so. It's not like they're desperate for a back at this point. They'll address the OL in the middle rounds.

Remember, Tiki was a 2nd rounder in the 1997 draft (Ike Hilliard was their No. 1 that year), and never figured to be anything more than a third-down back, so RB gems can be had in later rounds.

I spent 9.5 hours on Saturday scrubbing and cleaning my nasty cabinets and cabinet doors. There are 23 of them. I also had to remove each door so that I coud rip off the cheesy mouldings (NOT with a power drill - by hand. With a warped screw-driver. not only did 3 people (Her co-stripper, a security guard and a COP) NOT mention that this lady was raped, or even looked like she had been 'roughed up'. (they all said she was so drunk she had passed out, but was otherwise fine.)

not only did the 911 call say that some white guys has 'used racist words'. . . but somehow didn't mention a rape (boy, I think i'd be more upset about being raped than called "Whitey")

not only could she not 'identify her attackers' but, when the DNA evidence came back not matching anyone, she suddenly could point out two of them (both white)

but one of the two has an alabi, a cabbie who was tooling him around town, including campus checkpoints (documented), showing that he wasn't there when this supposedly happened.

nothing more... NOTHING more than an attempt at a (probably racist) stripper to make a bunch of money by playing the system against two white males (who are always guilty)

This stripper is same lady who has two kids (both from cheating on her now-Ex husband) but was also arrested for stealing a car and running over someone (I think a cop)

pardon me if I don't quite believe her.

Run the numbers first. It might just be cheaper to feed that gas guzzler than to trade off for something that costs more (and costs more to insure). I had to call the older daughter on that very same issue just this month. As for me, I am apparently doomed. I met a guy a month or so back that had a Geo Metro 1 year older than mine that has 172,000 miles on it and is still running. Obviously, I will never own another car, because I won't live long enough to get in that milage range. I'm screwed.

But, it's getting late here, and I have to do at least a week's worth of work tomorrow, so I am leaving it to you all to carry on.

Mike C. out.

you can, but where the hinges rub, expect some wear.

also, you'd have to be careful that you don't paint over the hinge so that it dries shut, then you'd have a problem with paint cracking.

but, i've done that in a couple houses now.

you just have to be careful, but it can be done.

for the handles, after you paint, let them cure for a day, then spray them with a clear sealant, so that the paint doesn't wear from you using the handles.

550 lancekates  Mon, Apr 24, 2006 5:37:40am

540 Mike C

yeah, that's one more thing i'm looking at.

there is nothing wrong with my truck (except that the A/C switch is broken, but I don't use it anyway)

and it is paid for, so my only real expense is gas. (I pay more for gas in a week than I pay insurance in a month.)

I alternate between 7/11 gas and gas at a local Albertsons. both are pay at the pump, so it is just a matter of whichever is cheaper (both are on my way home, so I don't play the 'drive 10 miles to get gas 1 cent cheaper' game)

Ooh. Hadn't thought of that - thanks. Upon further thought, I suspect that if I paint the hinges, the paint will crack and fall off. Perhaps if I remove the doors - again, *sigh* - I can spray-paint the hinges and seal them and they will match the pulls.

Good morning Trixie. My, what fun you had this weekend! Yes you can prime & paint over the hinges. You should use a very durable paint, such as a melamine type. Anything latex will be too soft & will not last on cupbord doors. You should probably give the doors a light sanding too, if you haven't already.

Oh, and if you run into any problems, or you need a special tool or anything, just call this guy. He'll be right over...

If you're careful, you won't have to remove doors.

I'd get a STRONG paint... I don't know what's available up there, but I'd get a rustoleum (sp?), which comes in many colors now.

heavily tape around the hinges and give them light coats (3 or 4 light coats is better than 1 or 2 heavy coats), letting them dry for about half an hour or more.

then you should be fine.

they make tape designed for use in painting, so it won't stick too much to the wood or leave residue.

The allegations are from a sworn statement filled with the courts in California. The allegations include Sheen's gambling, drug & alcohol addictions, which are public knowledge. Thank your friendly CBC watching Liberals for that one, Toronto is the center of the liberal universe with all its dhimmi mutlicult trappings

Charles Martel must be doing triple axles in his grave.

I would not be surprised at all at this point if teaching about Charles Martel--Charles Martel!--is verboten in French schools, so as not to cause "offense" to the precious Muslims. In fact I would not be surprised if they can't even mention his name. I wonder if any French bloggers have discussed this--it doesn't ring a bell. Are there any French LGFers around that could comment on this? I know that in many French schools they won't teach the Holocaust anymore due to constant outbursts and misbehavior by the Muslim students (and the Islamic apologists claim that its
not the Jews the Muslim community has a problem with, it's the "Zionists". Suuure Ibrahim.).

If they create such problems when the Holocaust is mentioned, what do they do when they hit the chapters on Napoleon? How do French schools' history texts discuss their national hero who "oppressed" and "occupied" part of the
ummah?

I guess she put up with the cocaine abuse, kiddie porn and general stupidity. But when Chuckles started talking about his 9/11 conspiracy theories, she probably figured it was a good time to take a powder.

Assuming Denise is telling the truth. I don't doubt that Charlie is a degenerate gambler, drug user, and probably still a womanizer. I do find allegations of being into kiddie pr0n a bit hard to believe.

For some strange reason Charlie Sheen introduced a children's clothing line. His people speculated that Denise Richards allegations could be an attempt to derail that venture.

Who knows they could be right. Men aren't the only ones who make false allegations.

oh, I wouldn't sue the stripper.

won't get anything.

I'd go after the DA's office and the State.

even when the DNA evidence turned up negative, they pushed the case, based only on the word of the stripper.

When the alabi came up, showing that one of the two accused was not even there when this happened, the DA's office said that they'd still push the case.

These two boys, (who I think are 100 innocent), will forever go around and have people recognize them as 'the guy that raped that stripper'

their carreers will always be affected, and they will always be looked down upon by people who recognize them. People will forget the case, and forget that they were found 'not guilty' . . . but they'll remember the guys.

indeed.

the press is running with this story, forgetting that the only source is someone trying to divorce sheen.

a coworker's friend is facing a trial where her husband, whom she is trying to divorce, planted crack in her purse, then 'happened' to discover it and then call the cops. it was enough that they arrested her and charged her as though she had enough to be dealing or something like that.

he's been trying to get everything he can from her in the divorce.

Wouldn't it be great if the press and media just left a fighting couple alone?

If they try all kinds of other classified information will be introduced in the trial and the goverment just cannot take the risk. Now speak English.

Another good one. Reminds me of how irritated I got at Wal Mart this Saturday. I had under 20 items so I went through the Express lane. The checker did not speak any english! When the register prompted her to verify my age because I was buying beer she had to turn the display around and look at me quizzically. I sure hope no teenagers find out about that particular check out. Just smile and nod and get your beer. So is walmart saying that of all the applicants for that position a non-english reading/speaking woman was the best choice?

yup. saddly.

She PROBABLY had help with the application. someone she knows (or part of some job placement program) who sat there and filled out the computer application with her.

they THINK that they're helping, but they're not.

They can get in serious trouble for selling alcohol to underage people. fines even.

and that 'helper' isn't next to them everyday on the job.

My dad had some experience with that, which he's told me.

hada guy from nigera move to MN. the state paid for his schooling to become a welder, and he graduated from their courses (fully paid for by the state). he came in to apply for a job, and was proud of his certificate he received. He even brought his family with him to the job interview.

My dad, being the hands-on person he is, had a small test for him, a simple blueprint and a few simple welds, so that he could see how well this guy could weld. (Keep in mind, my dad ran a 5 man manufacturing company, which was so good to its employees that if you ran out of vacation time and you suddenly needed time off for a family emergency or such, enough paid vacation time would appear in your records to take care of you)

this guy... couldn't read the plans, and he couldn't weld at all. but he has his certificate, saying that he has been properly trained as a welder.

paid for by the state.

I think my dad was hurt and angry. Hurt that this poor guy was all excited about his certificate and his new life in the United States, but he was in NO way prepared to do the job he was certified to do. Angry at the state for wasting money on a program that DOESN'T help people.

insurance pays for prescription meds, which is their bread and butter. I admit that I don't know about prices on pres ription meds on the level as local as a pharmacy, but I don't see what would be stopping them from charging extra on a realistic price increase as a fuel surcharge for delivery to the pharmacy.

as for the otc stuff, there's no reason for them to not up the price, provided their close competitors have done the same.

Places that offer free delivery is still done soley for profit.

better to get 3/4 profit on 50 sales than full profit on 10 sales.

at walmart, you don't buy cold medicine (the kind useable for meth) off the shelf here in OK. its illegal.
instead, where the cold medicine was, there is a little plastic card with the picture of the cold medicine. you take that up to the pharmacy and they check your photo id, then sell it to you then and there.

Oklahoma was the first to instutite the meth laws for the cold medicine, but others have since done so.

as far as amonia... apart from cleaning, I don't know why a farmer would need it.

didn't there used to be some fertilizer that had amonia in it?

A woman and her boyfriend are out having a few drinks. While they're sitting there having a good time together she starts talking about this really great new drink.
The more she talks about it the more excited she gets, and starts trying to talk her boyfriend into having one.
After a while he gives in and lets her order the drink for him. The bartender brings the drink and puts the following on the bar -- a salt shaker, a shot of Baileys and a shot of lime juice. The boyfriend looks at the items quizzically and the woman explains. First you put a bit of the salt on your tongue, next you drink the shot of Baileys and hold it in your mouth, and finally you drink the lime juice." So, the boyfriend, trying to go along and please her, goes for it. He puts the salt on his tongue! -- salty but OK. He drinks the shot of Bailey's smooth, rich, cool, and very pleasant. He thinks - this is OK. Finally he picks up the lime juice and drinks it ... in one second the sharp lime taste hits... at two seconds the Baileys curdles... at three seconds the salty curdled bitter taste hits. This triggers his gag reflex but being manly, and not wanting to disappoint his girlfriend he swallows the now
nasty drink. When he finally chokes it down he turns to his girlfriend She smiles widely at him and says, "So, how did you like it? It's called 'Blow Job's Revenge.'

Guy #2 sips his beer and says" you better think it over - women like that are hard to find."

in America, guys tend to like to half naked, athletic women being a bit closer together than 3 feet.

It would be a great game for kids to play in PE. I'll bet my daughter would love it. I may even suggest it to the PE teacher. But for the athletic women I agree with your statement. We're all pervs

we had a version of this when i was in the 7th grade.

except we played on a soccer field, and instead of a basket, it was a soccer net (with a goalie)

you could run, unless you had the ball. you could only throw it.

wasn't too bad, but there was no good hitting, like in football.

(and let's face it.. when you're 6' in the 6th grade, and are feared by other schools in the middle school football conference, you like tackling. I used to get triple teamed, and it took all three just to keep me from moving forward. . . which allowed the other defenders to go through the gaping hole and get sack after sack.)

Hi - yes apparently this Cyclone Monica is the biggest yet here

When Cyclone Tracey hit Darwin on Christmas Eve 1974 it was just awful - most of Darwin was wiped out

I remember our neighbours taking in some refugees from Darwin - and we helped by taking in part of the family - I vividly remember the sodden suitcases and wet clothes - these poor people had lost everything

Hopefully Monica now that it's hit land loses it's force before it gets to Darwin

One of the best experiences in a bookstore was in one in Toronto in 2004 - there were so many political books I'd never seen here - I was definitely nuts that day -

We ended up with so many books from here we had to buy another suitcase to put them in - our hand luggage at JFK later was a bit heavy to say the least - both of us had a little trolley thing full of our books - mine all conservative stuff

I don't know about over there, but here i've noticed a trend among liberals.

Conservatives like books for the factual information contained therein. Written down. in Print. there is a permanance there that is not able to be duplicated. The facts are assimilated and then cultivated into outlooks and ideas and worldviews.

Liberals like books to read and regurgitate. Like a Parrot, repeating the 'facts' without any sort of truth test to determine the validitiy of the content. It is not intelligence, but the APPEARANCE of intelligence that Liberals admire. Thus their buttkissing admiration of College Professors who, while they know the lectures they give, do not have much in the way of real common sense, or real world abilities (CTP and other Conservative profs excluded)

These professors, Intellectual Whitewashed Tombs (that's twice I've used the whitewashed tombs reference... woo hoo!), then instruct the next generation of mindless drone in the ways of 'how things are' which is as close to how things are as I am to David Hasselhof.

Therein lies the base difference between Conservative and Liberal. One lives by Truth Tests and Assimilation of Facts, the other lives by the parroting of already poor ideas, given by people on self-constructed pedestals of sand.
