Unbelievable. And if conservatives engaged in this kind of behavior, how would the media would respond? Casual acceptance?

The article is "nicely nuanced":

Lieberman has been an integral part of the GOP's bully machine for the past six years

And the democommies have really lost it.

9 Greg  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:47:42am

Them Huffers are a pretty rascist bunch...rascism by a democrat and on a democrap is just fine. Let a Repub. pull this and Katie bar the doors...

Hope Liebermann just wins it all in the general election just to spite them all.

They (left) have had cover from the media for so long that they feel they can get away with this sh*t.

Nice to see that racism is not just alive & well but par for the course with today's American Leftist.

So long as the racism supports a LLL's point of view.

Fact: the 1924 Democratic convention was known as the "Klanbake".

Fact: Senator Robert Byrd was a former Klan kleagle and supported the Klan in secret memoranda after he had publicly renounced his affiliation.

Fact: Nixon signed affirmative action into Law (not necessarily a good law)

Fact: Lincoln, freer of the slaves, was Republican

Fact: Martin Luther King Day was singed into law by Reagan

Fact: Democrats tried to filibuster the 1964 Civil Rights Act

All facts...

Every time I see garbage like this, I rejoice. The nastiness indicates desperation. The far left is toast in the American political landscape for years to come. Those two disparaged folks in the picture represent the face of the only kind of Democrats with a hope in hell of winning an election, and fortunately, they aren't in charge of the party anymore.

Lieberman is a great Democrat, one that even I would vote for. The radical Left is so far off the Democrat plantation that they don't know what good means anymore.

It's all about hating Bush.

Oh, would that picture be considered anti-Semetic if a Republican made it?

26 aaron's rantblog  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:53:26am

Ochs Phil Lyrics
Love Me, I'm a Liberal

I cried when they shot Medgar Evers
Tears ran down my spine
And I cried when they shot Mr. Kennedy
As though I'd lost a father of mine
But Malcolm X got what was coming
He got what he asked for this time
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I go to the civil rights rallies
And I put down the old D.A.R.
I love Harry and Sidney and Sammy
I hope every colored boy becomes a star
But don't talk about revolution
That's going a little bit too far
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I cheered when Humphrey was chosen
My faith in the system restored
And I'm glad that the commies were thrown out
From the A.F.L. C.I.O. board
And I love Puerto Ricans and Negros
As long as they don't move next door
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Ah, the people of old Mississippi
Should all hang their heads in shame
Now I can't understand how their minds work
What's the matter don't they watch Les Crain?
But if you ask me to bus my children
I hope the cops take down your name
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Yes, I read New Republic and Nation
I've learned to take every view
You know, I've memorized Lerner and Golden
I feel like I'm almost a Jew
But when it comes to times like Korea
There's no one more red, white and blue
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I vote for the democratic party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I attend all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
And I'll send all the money you ask for
But don't ask me to come on along
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Sure, once I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to socialist meetings
Learned all the old union hymns
Ah, but I've grown older and wiser
And that's why I'm turning you in
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Yeah, the lyrics are dated. There isn't a patriotic bone left in the Democratic party.

27 lurking faith  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:55:15am

Shoot, it's one of the biggest open secrets around -
Libs tend to be racist.

It's a simple extension of their elitist view of themselves.

Once you start thinking that other people (any group of other people, excepting only those significantly mentally disabled) can't take care of themselves without your help, you are headed down that slippery slope.

To libs, anyone not exactly like them is, by their definition, inferior.

They need it to be true.

And they are so used to that assumption being central to their worldview, they not only give a pass to obvious racist acts and statements by other liberals, they don't even notice.

28 brent  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:55:20am

Such cheap, childish, racist shots these progressives take at people they disagree with. It's utterly shameful to view the degredation of decorum on behalf of the left.

Jane Hamsher is a complete waste of space.

33 Terp Mole  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:57:46am

It get's worse at Jane's blog;

http://www.firedoglake.com/2006/07/31/holy-joe-pla ys-the-race-card/

The Lieberman campaign and his expert want to appeal to black voters on emotion without offering them anything. It’s a racist insult of the worst kind, far more hurtful than tar baby or n*****. Because you show you think blacks are emotional children with no capacity for rational thought or action.

/ugly

34 Ed Mahmoud abu al Qahool Martyr Brigades  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:58:06am

Lieberman isn't even like Zel Miller, a middle of the road guy that would have fit as well in the Republican Party of the 1980s and 90s as the Demonrat party.

I heard on the radio Leiberman's liberal voting record is over 80%. His only disagreement with his party is that he is serious about the war on terror (compared to Dingle's comment that he can't condemn or condone Hezb'Allah or Israel, as if they are the same thing, as if Israel hijacked a jetliner, tortured, then murdered a Navy diver, as if Israel kidnapped a Marine officer working with the UN, tortured and finally murdered by hanging. As if Israel bombed US and French military barracks of peacekeepers in Beirut in 1983).

Demonrat Party has fallen completely to the infiltration of Soviet communism begun back in the 1940s by Henry Wallace.

36 schlagerman  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:58:35am

The level to which the LLL and Dems will sink is unfathomable. Yet they claim to be the party of diversity, tolerance, inclusion, and compassion. This is the same party that illegally obtained Michael Steele's credit report, slashed tires on a Republican get-out-the-vote van, attacked and vandalized numerous Republican offices, and continually undermines the war on terror.

Had a Republican photoshopped something like this, not even one nanosecond would pass before the howls of racism would echo throughout the MSM, yet they are silent. I'm waiting for a condemnation from Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, both of whom support Lamont. I believe we are seeing the disintegration of the Democratic party before our eyes. If they lose in November, look for things to get worse until no one takes them seriously. Even though I'm a Republican, I believe we need a vital second national party to maintain a sense of balance.

37 mad_scientist  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:59:06am

Also, what exactly is the point of this picture? Are they trying to insult Lieberman by saying he is black?

Are they saying that he is an Uncle Tom to the Democratic Party?

WTF is the message they (people who edited the picture) are sending except they are total racists?

38 Beagle  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 7:59:15am

The Left always uses racial slurs and stereotypes. They believe in identity politics. I support Israel so I must be a Jew or tool of AIPAC. If a black person is a Republican he or she must be a stupid Uncle Tom. The Left suffers from believing its spin.

39 loppyd  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 8:00:12am

Could someone please explain to me what this vile picture is supposed to covey?

40 republic  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 8:00:56am

What bothers me the most, is that the left gets to say, do, enable anything, and everything, and there is no accountability, nor is there any outrage allowed towards them!

Nothing is too outrageous for the left, no lies, no distortions, no spin.

Ann Coulter writes a book, with only facts in it, Ann Coulter does not lie, and she gets nearly hung, literaly, by the left, and yet these asshat leftists get to say, do, enable any and every lie, distortion and spin, and they are not allowed to be held accountable!

And the left wants to take back control of Congress and the White House?

Anyone who supports the left, is equally complicit in evil!

BTW, I think Dingles comment above, that he doesn't condemn Hezb'Allah for the recent attacks on Israel, is thread worthy, and should also be played on TV in November in every market where a Demonrat is in a close race with a Republican. If the Dems win the House in November, Dingle chairs the powerful Energy and Commerce committee.

Is that anything like Kerry's seared memories? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I really am wondering how long the Democrats will be around as a viable party at this rate. They loony actions of the radical left have driven many of the moderate/center members out, and I don't see them returning to a party that is so openly hateful.

While I have no qualms about watching the Dems go down (they sold the party to these nuts), the country needs a strong two-party system.

I'm not 100% sure - remember, this photoshop is brought to you by an adherent of the faith that says there is no truth and logic is evil - but I think it's supposed to say that Lieberman is an evil white male oppressor dressing up as an obviously fake Democrat.

(All I can say is, if being liberal on virtually every point, but then adding on a belief that we need to defend our country is enough to disqualify a man as a Democrat, then that makes a slam-dunk, open-and-shut case against the entire party.)

68 Ed Mahmoud abu al Qahool Martyr Brigades  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 8:10:49am

I suppose, if the Dems do become a fringe party (not a certainty, they may capture the House in November in what would be a disaster for the US), like the Libertarians or CPUSA, the Republican party might eventually split between those who would easily fit in the Democrat party of the 1970s and 1980s, like Giuliani, Bloomberg, Specter, Chafee, Snowe, Hagel, maybe McCain) and the conservatives, resulting in something more closely resembling a balanced two party system.

But withe the news media, and the mainstream entertainment media serving a cheerleaders for the Demonrats, they'll probably remain more than a fringe party for the foreseeable future.

The whole "tarbaby" issue is making want to SCREAM!

In the Uncle Remus story, the tarbaby is a trap. It's NOT a code word for a person of color. The code words are "br'er," a title slaves and former slaves used for each other as a contraction of "brother" since they weren't allowed to be "miste"; women were "sister". Titles for older people became "uncle" and "aunt"; "mammy" was reserved for a few.

I am reading A LOT of 19th centure American lit in preparation for my Ph.D. comps, and I am amazed at how the literature portrays the relationship between the races in a way that is, in many ways, far LESS antagonistic than it is among some today.

Because the left IS the definition of HYPOCRICY!

The left is incapable of self condemnation, it would open up "Pandoras Box" if they did.

The left will defend anything by the left, even until the end.

The left is like the little mouse with its middle finger extended up to the monster Eagle which is going to kick its ass with talons extended in "The Last Great Act of Defiance".

78 Doss  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 8:14:51am

Ted Rall calls Condi Rice Bush's "house nigga."

Donna Brazile, Gore's campaign manager, calls President Bush a "white cracker."

And more:

In 1984, Jesse Jackson called Jews "Hymies" and New York "Hymietown." San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown once boasted about a legislative victory by saying that "We beat those old white boys..." President Bill Clinton paid tribute to his mentors, former Arkansas Sen. J. William Fulbright and former Arkansas Gov. Orville Faubus -- both hard-line segregationists. Political campaign manager Donna Brazile called Republicans "white boys" who seek to "exclude, denigrate and leave behind."

What do all of these people have in common? All are liberals, and all got a free pass for comments and actions as bad as or even worse than those that cost Republican Sen. Trent Lott his senate leadership position. Yet, according to liberals, it is Republicans who must work to rid themselves of the stigma of racism. Some may be, but this broad-brushed painting of all conservatives as racist and liberals as untarnished is a pernicious falsehood.

When black film producer Spike Lee says that he despises interracial marriage and that "I give interracial couples a look. Daggers. They get uncomfortable when they see me on the street," where is the media outcry? There is none, because Lee is a liberal, and anyone who supports the liberal cause is not held accountable to the same standard as conservatives

Joe Bastardi thinks near Key West or Miami Sunday night, as a Cat 2 or maybe even a Cat 3, then West-Northwest towards Texas or Western Louisiana.

However, the 0Z and 12Z runs of the UK Met, the Canadian Global, and the GFS dissipate the system down to just a tropical wave as it reaches Florida, as did the 0Z ECMWF.

Now, the 6Z GFDL kills it, but for a different reason. It brings it through the 2500 to almost 3000 meter mountains of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The hurricane center path is also near Key West Sunday night.

So far, Alabama looks semi-safe, but it is too early to gurantee that yet.

Hail Harry
Only in America can a person be honored on Capitol Hill after labeling the sitting U.S. president the "greatest terrorist in the world."
But as Rep. Charles B. Rangel, New York Democrat, insisted during his laudatory speech on the House floor, entertainer Harry Belafonte, while "unacceptable to some," is worthy of a congressional salute for the primary reason "he shows little concern over the reaction to his words because he sees the need to speak the truth as he sees it."
Which includes, more recently, blasting U.S. policy on everything from the war in Iraq to the embargo on Cuba, Mr. Bush's refusing aid from Venezuela and Cuba following Hurricane Katrina, the president's "spying" on U.S. citizens as sanctioned by the USA Patriot Act, and most recently calling Mr. Bush the world's leading terrorist.

Funny that you should mention Rangel. He said that if the Democrats don't win in the House, he'll step down.***

Democrats consider the 2006 elections their best chance in a decade to recapture the House, with widespread unease over Iraq and with Republicans lagging in polls. Rep. Charles B. Rangel (N.Y.), who would become chairman of the Ways and Means Committee if Democrats picked up the 15 seats needed to regain the majority, said in an interview yesterday that he will quit Congress if the party does not capitalize on an unparalleled opportunity.

Talk about encouragement for GOPers to win and/or maintain their seats in the House.

At a breakfast with ministers in Stamford this morning, Sharpton said the Iraq war is the defining issue of our time and called Senator Joe Lieberman the "main cheerleader" for supporters.

And make no mistake; if Lieberman manages to win this primary, the Kossaks will be dealt a serious blow; they have plunked a big pile of political chips on Lamont.

If Lieberman wins that primary by even 4-5%, the leftist kooks will still call it a "victory", and the msm will give them unlimited facetime to spew their deceit!

Just like the Bilbray/Busbey race in San Diego in June, for Duke Cunninghams vacant seat, that had the kook leftist Busbey ahead in the polls, until the week of the actual elections, and then, Bilbray wins by the usual GOP margin for that area, 4-5%, and the kook left calls it a "victory", and the msm gave them unlimited facetime to say so much.

At a breakfast with ministers in Stamford this morning, Sharpton said the Iraq war is the defining issue of our time and called Senator Joe Lieberman the "main cheerleader" for supporters.

What "ministers" are being refered to here, ministers from the Church Of Satan?

I get a kick out of the racist, bigot, hypocrites who try to call themselves Christians!

They are far closer to the Church of Satan, than to anything like Chritianity!

They make me sick!

Okay. This is getting way nuttier than I even expected from the Left.

Whats next? Are they all going to show up at the Democratic National Convention dressed in Waffen SS uniforms? Or maybe march in behind the old red flag with hammer and sickle.

Is that so far fetched anymore?
I guess when you keep all that racism and anti-semitism bottled up for so long its got to blow some time.

#73 Goddess of the Classroom

I am reading A LOT of 19th centure American lit in preparation for my Ph.D. comps, and I am amazed at how the literature portrays the relationship between the races in a way that is, in many ways, far LESS antagonistic than it is among some today.

In Joel Chandler Harris' "Uncle Remus", there's a vignette included that would be hard for today's brain-dead readers to accept. The story concerns an incident that occurred during the War Between the States, in which Uncle Remus is said to have killed a Yankee soldier to protect his young master, who was wearing the uniform of the Confederacy. A northern female friend of the family, visiting Uncle Remus' plantation after the war, is dumbfounded when she is told of this family history. Uncle Remus explains that it should not surprise, since he was with that boy from birth and helped him grow to adulthood under his own watchful eye. It seems to be inconceivable to people today that there were southern blacks who valued their human relationships over political hyperbole, and that there were blacks actually sympathetic with the Confederate cause.

Did they remove the picture? I don't see it.

173 Dr_Applebreath  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:01:49pm

Pic is gone, story is still there. Anyone know what's up?

174 Spiny Norman  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:24:35pm

Down the Memory Hole with it! It never existed! Anyone making referrence to it will be denounced as a liar and a racist!

/gee... let's just pretend it never happened...

Former NYC mayor Ed Koch was just on Hannity radio in firm support of the Bush administration foreign policy, disgusted with his Democrat party as "very weak" on foreign policy, and said if Bush were running again he'd be out campaigning for him. Also offered to campaign for Lieberman.

176 Stuck-in-CA  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:34:43pm

Maybe Drudge was afraid that stupid people seeing that photo of Lieberman in fake black face (but not reading the article), would not realize that it was a photoshop hatchet job and think HE was the bigot. Maybe he just didn't want to make things worse for Joe.

177 FearlessMinky  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:43:07pm

The first thing I said when I saw this was "Photoshop."

Then I said, "When morons attack! Details at 11."

Thought #3: "This is how you know that the opposition has run out of substantive things to say."

The final thing I said was "Which the heck Clinton is that? Bill or Hillary?"

The older those two get, the more they look alike. It's just weird.

178 Wildandcrzyguy  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:43:34pm

Q: Why is Clinton so interested in events in the Middle East?
A: He thinks the Gaza Strip is a topless bar.

Democratic National Convention is already dressed in Waffen SS uniforms.

179 FearlessMinky  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 12:44:21pm

Oh, hold on. Shrillary is on record as hating Jews. She'd never stoop to touch Sen. Lieberman.

The local news ran the story tonight.

Endorsements for Lamont; Picture puts 'blackface' on Lieberman

This campaign has apparently hit a new low today with something offensive, and that is putting it mildly. The popular Huffington Post blog, which has strongly supported Lamont's candidacy, posted a picture today depicting President Clinton and Joe Lieberman in an Amos n Andy-type doctored picture obviously taken from the Waterbury rally last Monday. In the picture, Lieberman is drawn in blackface and Clinton is wearing dark sunglasses.

Lamont's campaign manager Tom Swan condemned this, calling it very offensive and said he requested that it be removed. He also said that while blogger Jane Hamsher is a supporter, she is not on the campaign pay-roll.

"It's extremely offensive," Lieberman said. "I have been the target of the 'blogs' on a lot of really offensive stuff, stuff I consider lies and smears, but this picture of me with Bill Clinton and me having my face blackened is offensive to people of all races and colors and just doesn't belong."

We don't know the motivation for this offensive blog and have been unable to contact Hamsher, but the photo was removed at approximately 4:00 p.m., judging by the comments made by others on the blog.

I wonder if this B on wheels, Mzz. Hamsher, realizes that her little cartoon is more offensive towards blacks than even to Leiberman.

Jammie and American Jewess

It's gone now. I screen capture it though, as I'm sure others did.

183 Catttt  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 2:52:00pm

I just checked Jane Hamsher's vid of herself interviewing Ned Lamont on youtube - all the comments (there were about half a dozen) had been redacted without explanation. So I put another comment up - we'll see it appears.

As I recall, one comment said "Jane is sexy" - the rest were about her racism and how Lamont is a loser.

Well, well, well...what do we have here? Another episode of "Donkeycrats showing their Ass". Thinking this so cute sitting in Mom's basement and Photoshopping photos of a Jooowww. Then going as far as positng them on their favorite site - how special!

/sarc off

I grow increasingly bitter at the leadership of the Donk party when their operatives pull this type of crap against anyone that is "against" them. Howie, Shillery, Jessie Jackasson, Al Bore, Al Sharpie, Klegle, and Cynthia Mac and the rest of you - WHEN DOES IT STOP? Is your goal to be the minority party for the next 50 years? Do you really have to resort to racist tactics to defeat your opponents? How about running on the ISSUES that affect EVERYONE - not just your "pet projects" and "concerns"? Putting fear into the minds of those that are your "special interest groups"? Is that the Donkeycrat Party of the 21st century? Do yourselves a favor - get rid of the racist rhetoric, distance yourself from the fringe elements of the communist/socialist party and stop using the race card as a crutch for the party and a weapon against your opponents. Maybe you'll win control of the White House and Congress again - in 2525!

185 rorschach  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 5:45:18pm

A liberal photoshopped this, so we're really not allowed to judge. They're exempt, you know.

186 LoafingOaf  Wed, Aug 2, 2006 6:45:08pm

The "progressive" Far Left has nothing to offer except ugly hate, anger, and smears, Jane Hamsher being one of the worst examples. What a racist and vile picture.

I see Hamsher's fans are defending the pic on her FireGodLake web site, and blaming Michelle Malkin and Drudge for shining a light on Hamsher's racism.
