Ya know, y'all are being a little too harsh on the Pali's. 19 Just_A_Grunt  Fri, Sep 22, 2006 6:19:31am

Regarding Charles Martel:

He is best remembered for winning the Battle of Tours in 732, which has traditionally been characterized as an action saving Europe from the Muslim expansionism that had conquered Iberia. "There were no further Muslim invasions of Frankish territory, and Charles's victory has often been regarded as decisive for world history, since it preserved western Europe from Muslim conquest and Islamization." They COULD be planting vegetable gardens, making the desert bloom.

They COULD be educating themselves and each other in medicine, literature, statesmanship, agriculture, economics, etc.

They COULD be having simple, harmless fun at some beach or park.

But THIS is what they choose to do. They have one life to live and THIS is how they choose to spend it -- shouting, burning flags, vowing to kill, and killing when they get the chance.

The MSM and LLLs have lost all perspective if they can't see this simple fact.

55 Just_A_Grunt  Fri, Sep 22, 2006 6:30:23am

Protests by Muslims are always staged or started on Fridays after they go to mosque and get their talking points, posters, and assembly points from their military er religious leaders. They review some simple rules regarding how to deal with the press and the best lighting and positioning for photos. They then bang their heads on the floor a few times to get the appropiate anger and rage going and Voila, another 3 day weekend is off to a flying start.

56 Agent of the Cross  Fri, Sep 22, 2006 6:30:56am

So can anyone tell me what was it in the Pope's remarks that was wrong about Islam? Anyone?

I can't remember my history too well on this subject (I know some of you folks out there know this better than I do) but hasn't it always been the goal of Islam to destroy Rome, take over the Vatican and place a cresent on the top of St. Peter's square? I thought after the second battle of Venice in 1687(?) which the Ottomans lost, Rome was their next target.

I guess my point is that we in the US are so ignorant of this history. We tend to think this is a new thing, but it's been going on for hundreds of years. My goal is to let my sons know exactly how this cancer has spread around the world to cancel all of the PC bullshit they are fed in school. ROPMA

Given it's Friday, we Catholics are meditating upon the Sorrowful Mysteries while praying the Rosary. As part of our meditations we ask the Lord to grant us the virtues associated with the various Mysteries.

Good thing, because I certainly need the help with loving my enemy with this going on.

That poor little boy is beautiful. Seeing him in the midst of that is heartbreaking. I pray for mercy upon the souls of those corrupting him, they are most in need of the grace of contrition because they are certainly invoking our Lord's righteous anger.

Fuzzy thinking coupled with ignorance. The first thing that struck me was the way they talk about Rome as if it's an empire or a state, as if they don't realize it's a city in a country called Italy. When they're that clueless, of course it makes sense that Israel is behind it all. After all, didn't the Jews and Romans conspire to kill the prophet Isa? Err...never mind. The Day of Rage! I almost forgot! What should I wear? Wait, I don't see any women there - what?! Not allowed?! NOW I'M REALLY PISSED!

I'd love to see some burka-clad women wail on their hubbies for joining some street fair circle jerk instead of working to support their home-bounded asses.

I keep waiting for the ladies to get enraged over the relevant stuff - like being treated better than the family goat.

The only upside to this entire controversy, as was the case with the Danish cartoons, is that now at least some weak-kneed Euro-Dhimmis have come to the realization that Islamofascists cannot be reasoned with, no matter how willing you are to appease them.

Not that they'll do anything about it, mind you, but maybe at least a few Euros will offer their future Muslim lords a wry look when meekly handing over their Jizyah.

They COULD be planting vegetable gardens, making the desert bloom.

And they choose to do this for one reason - they have no real interest in educating themselves, planting gardens, building modern cities, or otherwise making their lives more livable. And as for fun - that's completely out of the question. Their lives are all focused upon the "hereafter", how to get there quickly and make the biggest splash once they're there. The entire religion, as I see it, is based upon the basic premise that misery brings you closer to Paradise. More misery brings you martyrdom.
Christianity teaches sacrifice, but I know for a fact that Jesus didn't mean for His people to be eternally miserable. Judiasim has been the target of some of the most unthinkable evil the world has ever witnessed - yet most of the Jews I know are happy, upbeat, and optimistic.

I think they're using "Rome" as a synonym for "Christendom." I doubt that they understand the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism or even know that there is a difference (or give a sh*t).

I was just being facetious about the flag; I think they were burning it 'cuz they didn't have any Vatican flags, and they've always got plenty of Israeli flags on hand for every ragin' occasion.

If enough Europeans wake up to the menace, Hell will be in session for the ROP'ers. Think Spanish Inquisition (which no one will expect), and a for-real Crusade. As someone else has posted, if the Russians get involved expect casualties an order of magnitude higher than if they weren't (millions or tens of millions). The Scandinavians are now waking up and maybe getting ready to go Viking. The Germans and even the Dutch (who had a really tough, no-nonsense Resistance movement during WWII) are starting to wonder if enough is finally enough. Going medieval is a European thing. They will crush the Islamists brutally, efficiently, and by the numbers. It's in their blood. However, all this depends on enough of them waking up in time. Can they do it? I see some signs for hope (Scandinavia), and some for despair (France). It's even money right now.

I see the Eastern Europeans fighting (such as Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic states), but I don't see much of Western Europe doing anything to save itself. Belgium is finished; so is Luxembourg. France is likely beyond recovery. Spain won't fight to save itself. Italy doesn't know what to do. Great Britain is a toss-up, and it's anyone's guess if it will find its brass danglers in time. The big question mark, from what I can see, is a country that can be brutally efficient and disciplined, and can march off to war with a vengeance, but seems to be so cowed by its fairly recent history that it is reluctant to do what it knows it must do, for fear of being branded with a bad name. If it does ever find its stones, and decides to join the fight, islam in Europe will be in a for a rude awakening. I am, of course, speaking of Germany.

You're right about Great Britain-it's a toss-up, but I see things which give me hope (check out the UpPompeii blog). I still think Spain may wake up. Italy hasn't really known what to do since the Visigoths sacked Rome. I agree on the others; but Scandinavia is waking up, and some other lights are still burning, albeit dimly (Netherlands). You're absolutely right about Germany; and I would include Russia with the other Eastern European countries as they have a blood feud with the Mohammedans that goes back nearly a millenium. Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler recently posted an article about the various Eastern churches wanting to renew dialog with Rome with an eye towards re-unification of Christianity. Can you say Crusade? Deus vult!

Russia is the key, but Putin is too busy at the moment trying to stick his thumb in America's eye to notice the powder keg his nation is sitting on. Of all the nations in Europe, Russia faces the most immediate peril. It has the highest percentage of Mohammedans (20%) and the lowest fertility rate in Europe (1.3 births per woman). That's a recipe for disaster, and means that Russians will be the first Europeans to be bred out of their own homeland by Mohammedan fecundity.

Time is running out for Europe.

145 theheat  Fri, Sep 22, 2006 11:32:58am

I wish they would try to conquer Rome. I really do.

It's one thing for New York, London, and Madrid to be bombed. (After all, most of Europe thinks those things were "deserved" in some way.) It's another thing, all together, to target one of the most religious places left in Europe.

Go ahead, try to take Rome. Let's see how quickly any support and admiration for the "great" religion of Islam the ever-tolerant religious peaceniks yap about goes straight in to the toilet - and is replaced with mafia-style retribution, which is actually the best thing that could ever happen to turn the WoT into something serious.

Take Rome. I double-dare you.

Look at the poster in the top photo. The black flag with the shehada written on it is the flag of islamic jihad. Their cause is expansive jihad, or holy war for the sake of expanding islam.

In their view, conquering [anything and everything] is the answer to any question.

Islamic jihad, the organization with the black flag, is financed by Iran. And Iran today has a proxy army, Hizballah, just across the Mediterranean Sea from Europe and Rome. If Iran acquired the means of nuclear jihad, it could arm Hizballah with nuclear weapons, and trans-Mediterranean missiles, and threaten not only Israel but Europe and Rome also.

An excellent point. However, I feel that somewhere not too far down the road the legendary Russian xenophobia will kick in, and they will see the threat to the Rodina. As for the rest of the continent-someone, I believe on the Rott, noted that Europeans can go from lying on their backs to jackbooted marching in one smooth motion. As Misha noted, the Bucket O'patience is leaking and its contents are finite. However, as you correctly note, the clock is running.

BTW, #145 theheat
