Here’s an account of the demonstration in Phoenix, Arizona, to protest the Noam Chomsky-influenced slogans on that outrageous and insulting 9/11 memorial in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza: Protesters rally against memorial.

LGF reader Macker recorded the proceedings:

Gov. Janet Napolitano said she expected Memorial Commission Chairman Billy Shields to address concerns after the election. She cited the cost of a special session and her belief that the issue would be best dealt with outside of the political arena.

"If the memorial can be improved, it should be," Napolitano wrote.

How about turning into dust and planting an American flag pole in it, Janet?

Statements on the memorial include: "You don't win battles of terrorism with more battles"

You don't win battles of terrorism with more appeasement;

A new cure for AIDS: Shoot foreigners

IN AN attempt to shed his rogue status, Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi has foresworn weapons of mass destruction and agreed to compensate the families of those who died in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing. But on Tuesday a trial reopens that could again tarnish Libya's image. Five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor are accused of intentionally injecting the AIDS virus into more than 400 Libyan children. The accusations are an attempt to deflect Libyans' attention from the shocking state of their own medical system. The evidence against the six foreigners is flimsy, but they could face a firing squad.

Sharia death sentences for kuffar hostages-- unless, of course, Bulgaria pays Kaddafi's $3 billion ransom.

Nice to see Kaddafi's better now.

Report accuses N.Korea of crimes against humanity

By Arshad Mohammed 1 hour, 1 minute ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
North Korea has committed "crimes against humanity" against its own people according to an independent report published on Monday that made a long-shot appeal for the
U.N. Security Council to deal with the issue.

Released after North Korea's October 9 nuclear test, the report describes Pyongyang's brutal treatment of its citizens, from the beatings of pregnant women to force miscarriages to the abduction, torture and execution of political prisoners.

Commissioned by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, former Czech president Vaclav Havel and former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik, the paper seeks to spotlight rights abuses that have been previously reported but are often overshadowed by concern about North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

The BBC goes even lower:

The BBC is placing Christianity at the heart of primetime entertainment for the first time, with programmes examining faith and spirituality set to replace copycat “lifestyle” shows.

However, the first fruits of the born-again fervour could prove controversial. Rageh Omaar, the former Iraq war correspondent who wrote a book on his experiences as a British Muslim, will conduct a three-part examination of Jesus’s miracles.

NI_MPU(‘middle’); Omaar travelled to the Sea of Galilee, looking at the historical and archaeological evidence for events such as the Feeding of the 5,000, Jesus walking on water and the Resurrection itself.

The series asks if the banquet of loaves and fishes was an act of mass delusion and if the crucified body of Jesus was thrown to dogs in a rubbish dump.

Christian groups are concerned. Peter Kearney, a spokesman for the Catholic bishops in Scotland, asked: “Can you imagine the BBC asking a prominent Christian like Cliff Richard to present a critical look at Islam?”

Chavez may have control of our voting machines

[Link: www.worldnetdaily.com...]

WASHINGTON – Just 10 days before Americans vote in midterm congressional elections that could result in a historic shift of power, the federal government is investigating whether anti-American Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez may control the company that operates electronic voting machines in 17 states.

...

When the Chicago City Council asked Sequoia executive Jack Blaine in April about problems in that city's voting, he said some Venezuelans had provided technical support during the election and that some of the glitches could be traced to a component developed in Venezuela to print and transmit results to a central tabulation computer.

There is a quote in this story claiming the Mexican Army/Police are using "R-15" and "AK-47" assault rifles.

The German Heckler and Koch G-3 is the current assault rifled used by Mexico. It replaced the FN-FAL.

I'm guessing the "R-15" in question is either the H&K G-3 or the FN-FAL, (both of which have been locally assembled in Mexico), the G-3 still in local production.

It could also be the AR-15/M-16, which is used in small quantities by various special police units.

I can find no evidence of the AK series of assault rifles ever being standard issue for any regular Mexican forces, military or police.

So, who is using AK series assault rifles in Mexico?

KGB Letter Outlines Sen. Kennedy's Overtures to Soviets, Prof Says
By Kevin Mooney
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
October 20, 2006

In his book, which came out this week, Kengor focuses on a KGB letter written at the height of the Cold War that shows that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) offered to assist Soviet leaders in formulating a public relations strategy to counter President Reagan's foreign policy and to complicate his re-election efforts.

The letter, dated May 14, 1983, was sent from the head of the KGB to Yuri Andropov, who was then General Secretary of the Soviet Union's Communist Party.

The article goes on in greater detail mentioning Former U.S. Sen. John Tunney (D-Calif.)as being the go between, with about ten trips to Moscow.

And there have been a number of complaints over the last few years about "Mexican Army" accompanying drug shipments over the border, some from ranchers where the "Mexican Army" drove right up onto their ranch.

#25 jdroll,

Mark my words. The BBC will conjure up the old dregs from the heathen, ultra-liberal Jesus Seminar like John Dominic Crossan and Robert Funk as their "scholarly experts" to slam Christianity as myth.

It's the typical M.O. of the secular left just like ABC did a few years back when they did their secular special masquerading as a review of Christian History. It will be a sham.

I'll bet money if I thought about it hard enough, I could practically mouth the responses the BBC will provide from the pagan scholarly experts. Using a Muslim might actually be an improvement because it couldn't get any worse.

It wouldn't be the first time. We had trouble with that at the turn of the last century when Pancho Villa was raiding, frequently conducting cross border raids. The Mexican Government or their Armys' skirts were not very clean on this matter. Gen Black Jack Pershing resolved the issue with his usual aplomb.

Having now actually gone and read the article, the AK's are mentioned in a quote from a female demonstration "leader." Sounds to me like she just doesn't know one rifle from the next:

But Bertha Munoz, one of the protesters' leaders, said many of the demonstrators were peaceful.

"How can we confront them? We have already seen the R-15 (rifles) and AK-47s they carry," she said. "What do our people have? Most have just come to bring them flowers."

Hey everybody! I posted about this yesterday afternoon here. I don't want to be redundant so i'll just say, it was GREAT! It's in the newspaper today AND there are competing editorials too! One by moonbat Paul Eppinger (you remember, the guy that wanted to put 19 more characters on the memorial to represent the terrorists) and another, far better one, by Mike Broomhead and Mike McAvoy. I can't find the editorials online but I'll keep looking.

Thanks for the link to the article on EPR.

Interesting that they commented on the EPR being "much better armed" than the Zapatistas. I remeber seeing some news footage on NBC back when the Z's were getting started, and was rather surprised to see that the most common weapons in evidence were WW II- vintage British Sten guns (MK IIs, to be exact). I saw them repeatedly in news photos, as well, notably from AP. Either they only had a few and were "bicycling" them back and forth to give the impression that they had a lot of SMGs, or they must somehow have lucked into a bunch in store somewhere (the guns showed little evidence of use).

I suppose they could have ordered them from the old Stembridge Gun Rental Co. in Hollywood...

"Hello, Stembridge? Yes, this is the Zapatista National Liberation Army. We'd like to rent 300 Sten guns for the next six months. Do you deliver? That's fine. And, oh yes, please leave the bore-restrictor plugs out. We'll be using live ammunition, not blanks."

Just wondering...

cheers

Hey man - thanks for putting up the pictures and mp3 files on your server.

I snooped around on your website, and stumbled upon the BMW Isetta - one of our small post-war, European cars. I found this link for you, and would like you to take a look at the Isetta's older brother, the Messerschmidt Kr-175, and it's hugely popular followup, the Kr-200. They were originally made from old German WWII aircraft parts, such as the fuselages, droptanks, bombcasings and so on.

Mr Willi Messerschmidt, the designer behind the feared Me-109 and Me-262 fighter aircraft, changed his outlook upon life after the fall of the Third Reich, and took upon himself to regenerate Germany's autoproduction after the war.

As the myth goes, the only things he was allowed to play with by allied forces after the war were some of his aircraft parts, and his old BMW motorcycle - which he took apart to create the KR-175. (The first wheels on his KR-series were actually the same wheels from his Me-109 aircraft.)

Believe it or not, this vehicle is actually quite good, even to certain modern day standards - it's like a motorcycle mixed with a regular automobile - although you simply MUST agree with me: it's the ugliest damn piece of automotive engineering ever created by mankind..!

There are actually quite a few of these still around, and in fully restored, working condition - people over here cling on to them, for sentimental reasons, as they were the first reasonably priced 'automobiles' one could get after V-day. Seeing as they are nothing more than motorcycles in an aluminium shell, they are ridiculously easy to repair, and run - and they are actually quite a bit of fun to ride in, especially with ones girlfriend!

Ok, I just used the new email address as well - so now you've got two identicle emails coming your way.

Actually, it wasn't such a big deal afterall - I've written MUCH larger emails in the past. Anyway, I think it's nice to have a 'real' email address with which to send stuff back and forth, instead of going through a somewhat limited 4000 character post, with no ability to attach stuff to it.

Although I DO like the ability to embed a link underneith some text, like I did for Macker in my previous post - I wish that my standard Outlook email program had that ability. This feature would make my emails look much better for the end reader.

Oh well, that's just the way some fiddles play, I guess.

72 AmericanViking  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 5:42:29am

I use Outlook, which is an expanded version of Outlook Express - it's got a lot more features than the regular OE, like calender functions, alarms, expanded address-book functions and so on.

I pretty much live my life through this program - to the point of whenever someone asks me, say, out to dinner, I reply 'wait until I get home to my brain'.

Anyway, after reading your post, I found out what my problem was with embedded links - I tried to insert the link before having any text to embed it under. One can't embed any links without first having selected the text to embed them under - just like LGF.

I just tried sending myself an email using the correct procedure for embedding links, and it works like a charm - so the problem wasn't Outlook, but me!

Hey, what can I say: I'm a trained and certified computer programmer - from the old mainframe/dumb-terminal days - so once in a while it would seem that this dumbass has trouble doing even the simplest of tasks, huh?

Oh well, better late than never - right?

Gotta go do some laundry now, so ya'll have some fun until I get back - ya' hear?!
