Kerry Goes Ballistic

Tue, Oct 31, 2006 at 10:48:40 am PST

Flipper counterattacks instead of doing the right thing and apologizing: JohnKerry.com - Press Releases. (Hat tip: Allahpundit.)

This is the new Democrat style—nasty, insulting, and in your face.

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

As far as I can tell, this is a genuine press release, not a satire or a parody.

One of those “Republican hacks who has never worn the uniform of our country,” John McCain, has issued a statement:

Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country’s call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.

They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn’t live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.

UPDATE at 10/31/06 11:26:26 am:

Senator Kerry is scheduled to appear at a press conference shortly on this issue; I’ll be recording it, and will post the video...

Back in 1972, Sen. Edmund Muskie whome everyone assumed was a shoo in for the Democratic Presidential nomination went outside the headquarters of the Manhcester Uniion-Leader and in the snow broke down in tears after some smarmy comments the publisher William Loeb had written about Muskie's wife Jane. That finished Muskie.

30 Mike McDaniel  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 8:57:20am

I just hope the Republicans have the sense to turn this into a hard-hitting nationwide ad campaign over the next week.

31 chubby vegan  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 8:57:40am

Okay John. Let's change some rules. Higher scores required to join our armed forces.

If someone is from a lower social "caste", let's exclude them from "volunteering".

Anyone who is appearing to use our military as a way to lift themselves out of squalor, should be immediately disqualified. Family W2's required.

Would that satisfy the libs?

32 Silhouette  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 8:58:02am

Kerry says

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq

Kerry says

They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside

But those were heros serving in Vietnam, not Iraq, and it all depends on the meaning of "is", and Rush is fat, and let's talk about the REAL issue of how Bush tortures Iraqi kittens!

33 Dirk Diggler  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 8:58:03am

The media will bury this story.

What is Kerry smoking, and where can I get me some of that?

He's repeatedly castigated and denigrated men in uniform. He goes so far as to alternatively blame and admit to engaging in the same activities as those who he says constitute war crimes.

Thank you Charles for staying on top of this. I'm one of your readers that understands the grave threat that Islamic extremism poses to our way of life, but at this juncture, I'm much more concerned with those in my country who pose as patriots, yet scheme and plan for a social re-engineering and socialistic reform. 43 JammieWearingFool  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:00:51am

While beating up on John Al-Querie is so much fun, I just want to digress into election issues for a second.

Rasmussen yesterday came out with a poll showing Webb leading Allen,
but look at what they pulled.

Suppressing the vote by misleading polls.

Don't let them get away with it.

Cease and desist panicking about George Allen.

Rasumussen's poll was a one-day poll on a Sunday. Where are Allen's supporters on a Sunday? At church. and/or watching football, playing football, cursing as the hated Cowboys come back against the Panthers Sunday night.

Note Erick Erickson's point that the campaign that is constantly releasing its internal polls showing good news is likely the one more desperate to demonstrate that they're doing well. This means you, Thelma Drake.

You know when a Virginia Republican should panic about Allen? When he polls down, outside the margin of error, among likely voters, in a poll over three days, with a sample that is 39 percent Republican, 36 percent Democrat, and only 27 percent from the northern suburbs of DC. That's the turnout in 2004.

Or if a virus eats the entire get-out-the-vote databases of the GOP.

Or if Allen legally changes his name to Macacawitz.

44 J.D.  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:00:55am

Kerry "lying" (?) about Iraq:

"Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein, and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture, don't have the judgment to be President, or the credibility to be elected President.

No one can doubt or should doubt that we are safer -- and Iraq is better -- because Saddam Hussein is now behind bars."

      Senator John Kerry (Democrat, Massachusetts)

      May 3, 2003

"So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but it is not new. It has been with us since the end of the Persian Gulf War.

In U.N. Security Council Resolution 1441, the United Nations has now affirmed that Saddam Hussein must disarm or face the most serious consequences. Let me make it clear that the burden is resoundingly on Saddam Hussein to live up to the ceasefire agreement he signed and make clear to the world how he disposed of weapons he previously admitted to possessing."

I'm well aware of what you were referring to. Hunter Thompson, who was on the campaign trail at the time, witnessed this incident and creatively reported that Muskie was rumored to have an ibogaine addiction, which resulted in his meltdown. IIRC, HST said that Muskie was probably hallucinating that alligators were chewing at his ankles or something like that.

In this case, Kerry probably thought that lizards were attacking him. ;)

50 alegrias  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:02:05am

"assorted right wing nut-jobs"

Just the fact that a phrase of this vitriolic weight is considered appropriate for a press release speaks volumes.

Every day I'm given a new reason to thank God/Zeus/the Fates/Allah/etc. that this **** lost the election.

We didn't just dodge a bullet, we dodged a 16" artillery shell. Between his idiocy and arrogance, Terror-ayza's beelions to dump into pro-Balkanization groups like La Raza, and the legions of Clintonista sycophants chomping at the bit to get back into the game of re-engineering America to their Marxist specifications, the Kerry future would have been at least as incompetent and ten times as debilitating as the world according to Bush. It would have been the mid-1990s all over again.

I'm not religious, but the fact that he lost is enough to make me a Believer.

As for Kerry, if there were the political equivalent of the darwin awards, I'd say, "Please, no more entries. We have a winner" Please, may we be done with him for once and for all, and any candidates he's been stumping for.

John Kerry is a repugnant condescending elitist money-grubbing liberal whore.

See, I would have said "Rudderless, mind-bogglingly Narcissistic, arrogant, empty shell of a man." One anecdote from the 2004 campaign that stands out in my head is Kerry's manager having to take away his cell phone because he was calling all kinds of people in a panic for advice. What kind of grown man needs a babysitter?

The only time he ever stood for anything in his life was when he stood up with the hippies and the Marxists to turn his back on his fellow servicemen (and women). Deep down, these fuckers really do hate everything America stands for. All you have to do is dig a little, or piss them off with a microphone handy. Sooner or later they slip and show their rotten leftist core. They HATE having to fake it for elections, which is why their speeches always sound so strained.

68 mich-again  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:08:39am

Who wrote that hysterical rant of a reply? It reads like it was spit out of a random meme generator set at 11.

Kerry's miscalculation is that only right wing "nuts" will take offense to his "dumb- soldier" speech. The exact opposite is true. Only a left wing radical would not be offended by it.

Anyway, he just poured gasoline on the flames with that hyperventilating rant. Or his leftie intern did. Should make for some interesting backtracking by JFinK.

Indeed. The MSM would have obliged, but now Lurch has indeed, in the words of #27 Bushleague ``forgetten the first rule of holes'' (vote for rotating LGF Title)

He could have let this melt away as the MSM would have given him cover. He has now guaranteed that the media will focus on his remarks, and worse, guaranteed that the attention will be focused away from Bush, Republicans, Iraq. etc.

Kerry is trying to make up for his lackluster response to the SwiftBoating episode and show he's tough, but instead, he will merely put the Democrats ``off message'' one-week prior to the election and anger Republican partisans and military families who now will go to vote in an anti-Kerry swarm.

Rove couldn't ask for a better gift...

72 JoshuaPundit  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:10:03am

For somebody that arguably committed treason while he was in uniform, Senator Kerry is awfully confident in shooting his mouth off.

I swear, he is simply the gift that keeps on giving to the GOP...is he on Rove's payroll?(LOL)

What amazes me even more is that his fellow dems, who are already perceived as anti-military don't bitch slap him into oblivion.

73 29Victor  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:10:13am

77 jpkoch  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:11:34am

All he had to do was issue a faux apology and this entire issue would be consigned to the blogsphere - the MSM would have ignored it. By the hour, this speech is taking on a life of its own. The MSM will probably ignore it until the polling numbers come in this evening or We morning. If their negatives are up in key districts, they will be forced to give it air time. If that happens, all bets are off.

Getting stuck in Iraq doesn't make you a patriot, it makes you cannon-fodder for the Shrub's political glory.

Not only should Kerry be commended for saying it, he should be admired for the spirit, clarity and sheer in-your-face aggression of his statement quoted in the diary I linked above!

Yay, Kerry!

Actually, That's Just The Cold Hard Truth
If students don't study hard and achieve good things in college, then their future prospects (aka "good job") are nil.

With the Bush economy and Bush job exportation, their prospects are bleak even if they "study hard".

So what's wrong with telling people the truth? Unsuccessful students trying to get a leg up in Bushland may be force to join the military.

In fact, this is where a hell of a lot of Bush recruits come from!

81 Shiplord Kirel  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:12:21am

We have to get the Dixie Chicks' stupid conspiracy commercial on the MSM before the election. The left profiteers themselves are offering to pay for it, but the networks refuse out of fear that it will embarrass the Democrats.

Combined with Kerry's ravings and insults it is the ultimate October Surprise: "Surprise, voters, the Dems are conspiracy nuts and unstable 60s throwbacks."

How does that Karl Rove do it?

82 Babydoc97  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 9:13:06am

John F-ing Kerry can kiss my ass. I am STILL serving in the military, have served twice in Iraq, and managed to get a college degree AND a medical degree through my military service. I'm the only member of my family to have a college degree PRECISELY because I served in order to EARN my way, rather than marrying some fugly-harpy ketchup heiress to buy my way into political power.

I wouldn't piss on Kerry if he was on fire. In a sane world, he would have been executed for treason for the Winter Soldier fiasco.

I'd call him an asshole...but assholes actually serve a legitimate purpose.

What a truly flaming hemmorrhoid!

I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I'm not sure why specialized knowledge stemming from serving in the armed forces would be necessary to react publically to an ex soldiers comments on the education of soldiers presently serving.

Truthfully, it is getting tiring to hear people defend their idiotic statements by stating that, "Since, you aren't a soldier, you can't discuss anything about a war...even if doing so does not require any specialised knowledge to do so"

It doesn't take a 5 star general to know that when someone says that only the least educated are "stuck" in Iraq, its insensitive, factually incorrect & plain mean.

John Kerry can attack "Republicans" for not serving as a cheap way to avoid critism, but let's be honest...he is nothing more then an empty Vietnam-Era Uniform". (An empty uniform that he spat on when he wore it, critisizes today, & brags about only when it can be used to avoid fault.)

Realisticly though, according to the logic being attributed to John Kerry about soldiers, it would actually be beneficial for those who have not served their country (ie: those that are not the "least educated") to comment on such things, as they would in turn be the only ones with enough education & intellegence to do so.

This all said however, I do believe that the entire clip should be made public & not just the soundbite found here on LGF & on Youtube. I would need to know what came before & after this statement (ie: the context) to fully understand his statement.

China cited as N. Korea supplier
By Bill Gertz
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
October 31, 2006

China helped North Korea develop nuclear weapons and in the past year increased its support to Pyongyang, rather than pressing the regime to halt nuclear arms and missile activities, according to a congressional report.
The final draft report of the U.S.-China Economic Security Review Commission also says that Chinese government-run companies are continuing to threaten U.S. national security by exporting arms to American enemies in Asia and the Middle East.

I don't get it.

Here, let me modify that a little to explain:

So... if you're a Republican an American Senator and you sneeze inappropriately in a room where there are insult minorities you have to step down from your leadership position, but if you are a Democrat an American Senator and you insult the military you go on the attack?

Here's our English lesson for today, kids...

English is a powerful language. By simply leaving out two magic words you can easily go from innocent Bush-bashing into turning the US army into a bunch of high-school drop outs.

A source close to Kerry tells NBC News that he was trying to make a "tough and honest joke" about Bush and that in the process he omitted two words which changed the intended meaning. Per the source, Kerry meant to say that he can't "overstress the importance of a great education" and that "if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy... You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq." Kerry mistakenly dropped the "getting us" from his initial remarks.

John Kerry joined the military and became a swiftboat captian because he wanted to be JFK. He went to war to advance his political career and came home as quickly as he could. He proves this every time he uses his military services to esatablish 'cred' (i.e. 'reporting for duty').

The far lefties that I know cannot comprehend why someone would go and risk their life when they have nothing personally to gain from it. The idea of someone putting their life on the line out of pure patriotism or the desire to help someone else is incomprehensible to most of them.

Right, so that's exactly why his response makes no such mention. His comments are exactly what was reported, and his statement does not even attempt to correct the record.

He simply sidesteps his actual comments and attacks those who rightfully castigated Kerry for denigrating those serving in the US Armed Forces.

That he chooses not to correct the record in his statement shows that he meant exactly what he said. There's no other way to spin it, despite that report's claims.

Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass

Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Remember us -- if at all -- not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men

Perhaps if Kerry puts on his magic CIA hat he'll become invisible and this whole controversy will disappear.

Seriously, I fear the White House will take the high road. The White House will issue a statement taking Senator Kerry off the hook. Something to the effect of:

"President Bush knows John Kerry didn't mean to imply that all American servicemen and women are idiots. Senator Kerry is an honorable man and a patriot, blah, blah, blah,..."

Thereby diffusing the situation. It's a politically advantageous one for the Republicans and it should be brought to a boil, but it won't.

The whole "missing words" thing doesn't fly, either. Bush may not be a rocket scientist, but no one can claim that it is his lack of education (Yale-undergrad, Harvard-MBA) that caused us to "get stuck" in Iraq.

Not to mention -- Kerry voted for the Iraq war, so this whole thing is such bullsh*t.

First rat off the ship, from FoxNews:

retired Gen. Wesley Clark suggested Kerry's remarks are not helpful to Democrats in general.

"I cannot explain anything John Kerry said," said Clark, who also ran for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination. Clark added that he's spoken to military leaders about the next troop rotation coming. "They tell me the troops are ready. The families are ready back here. They know what they're facing. It's the best army we've ever had."

Senator John McCain went through hell for his country from 1967 to 1973. It always awes me to think that he refused to be released from the hell that was the Hanoi Hilton ahead of other men.

He was awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Purple Heart, and a Distinguished Flying Cross. I daresay he didn't throw them over the White House fence.

Excellent statement, Senator McCain.

It's not even the main message of his tantrum, but the part I find particularly offensive is,

"No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

He manages to denigrate the hard work of US & her allies in both those countries, including the Canadian troops in Afghanistan right now, every one of who has served more time than his pathetic 4 months in Vietnam.

Then he started repeating himself over and over and speaking on behalf of what he claimed were the pissed off American people who he was going to "stand up for" for with his noisy nonsense.

Frankly this boob is so stuck in 2004 it's not even funny.

He criticizes the policy with NO specifics implying he is unfamiliar with the policy and just hopes that people don't like it without having seen it.

The funny part is that even if this horse shit actually "sells" Hillary's people will have to take him down to get him out of the way for 2008.

I guess the democrats in the Senate are so convinced of impending election victory that they needed to take this moment to remind us how out to lunch and generally bug fuck they are.

My son is in Iraq right now—finishing up a year of duty with the Kansas National Guard. He was a student in college(three semesters from graduation) and chose to move to a unit going to Iraq. He is returning to finish his education at COLLEGE and then become a regular ARMY soldier. He WANTS a career in the military. He was soldier of the cycle when he went through boot camp and came in second for that honor in Iraq (he was beat out by a soldier that had more college hours!).

I and my husband are so proud of him---you insult us when you insult him and the other soldiers and YOU DID insult them! If it weren’t for their and the soldiers that have served over the life of this GREAT NATION, none of us would have freedom of speech.

So to sum up kerry;

What a poofter / Wotta maroon. / What a tool! / a knobhead with no knob. / Vile filth /
a pathetic stack of walking fecal matter / Whining, conspiratorial, bitter, vicious /
a repugnant condescending elitist money-grubbing liberal whore. / you are the hack. /
"Rudderless, mind-bogglingly Narcissistic, arrogant, empty shell of a man." /
/ What a truly flaming hemmorrhoid! / ketchup boy" / what an asshole, /
Worthless traitorous bastard! / arrogant yellow piece of shit / a Grade A scumbag. /
he is such a slime / traitors to their Country / What a snook / Stupid SOB /

a steaming pile of excrement / a joke!

And the unkindest cut of all - John Kerry will never be president.

OK. So I’m also an Army Vet and a Republican.

When I was young and dumb (I was young and dumb). I was a 17 year old genius with a High School diploma (GPA 1.0+!) and just about enough money for a tank of gas.

I barely had enough sense to realize that there had to be a better life outside the trailer park, and if I wanted a chance to taste it I had better come up with some ideas pretty quick. Mom agreed to sign the papers the Recruiter brought over and off I went.

Thank God for the U.S. Army and all the NCO’s and Officers that taught me more in those years than I can go into here. I decided to use the GI bill to go on to college. I got my degree without a penny of debt and have spent my working career in Production and Operations Management for the past 25 years.

So what’s your point there Big John? Are my accomplishments in life less significant or honorable because I joined the Army from the wrong side of the tracks with a piss-poor academic record? Or is it just that everybody that would join the Military is a bunch of losers?

No, I think what really galls you is the fact that a filthy little white trash punk like [I was] had a way to haul myself up out of the dump and make something of myself without going through the Democrat Party Welfare apparatus.

I also think you find it inconceivable that there are Men and Women even better than me that would choose to serve their country even when they have the resources to be in any other occupation or way of life.

God help me if I ever cease to be grateful to those that serve for whatever reason. I will never be like JF'nK, and I will do everything in my power to keep elitist hypocrites like JF'nK from ever commanding the Armed Forces again.

Broken glass people, broken glass.

Too angry to say anything more than Hanoi John was not misquoted, and that he does, indeed, say the blame belongs on President Bush! F*ing Coward Kerry..

White House, Kerry in Feud Over Iraq Remarks

White House (AP) -- A White House spokesman is accusing John Kerry of troop-bashing, after the Massachusetts senator told college students to study hard so they don't ``get stuck in Iraq.''

Press Secretary Tony Snow called on Kerry to apologize for what Snow called an ``insult'' to men and women serving in Iraq, and to the families of the fallen.

Kerry lashed back, saying he refuses to apologize for any criticism of what he calls the ``failed'' U-S policy in Iraq.

At a news conference today, Kerry said his remarks at the school were just a ''botched joke'' about President Bush and his people. But, he adds, if anyone owes the American troops an apology, it's Bush and his policy team.

I salute your brave and good son. Wonderful, just wonderful.

John Kerry - just what can you say?
Singlehandedly made Karl Rove's day
He insulted the troops
Covered up with pure poop
Oh, he's smart - in a dumb-assy way

But it goes so much further than that
More than just a good pre-voting spat
It's his core that he shows
When he looks down his nose
And blames Bush for all this and all that

He can't see that his words were not right
He just preens to look tough in a fight
A press conference to look showy
(And call Limbaugh doughy)
Dissembling with all of his might

And he wants us to think Bush is dumb
(Even unworthy of opposable thumbs)
But his own grades were worse
What a terrible curse
To be so smart and to lose when you run

You see it's not about what you say
When you're superior in so many ways
The rabble must see
That to him it's just "Me"
And designs on his first thousand days

Brigitte Gabrielle was just on Fox News with David Asman. She was absolutely right-on saying the Iranian-backed insurgents are cheering Kerry and the democrats...basically they feel they are succeeding in breaking the will of America with "mouthpieces" like Kerry doing their work for them.

Charles, can you get any clips of that interview?

Code Red 21:

Welcome to LGF...now learn how things are done round here :D

___

271 Bill Jefferson  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 11:19:49am

"If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy."

If I parse this right, what John Fargin' is saying is that you may only criticize the 140,000 if you also criticize the President, which he does, so he can criticize the 140,000. And he still has the hat!

272 chubby vegan  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 11:28:42am

Botched joke my a**. Hell, his ilk were saying the same thing about Viet Nam. He's trying to say, "I was trying to make a joke about Bush". Yeah.

The botched joke was his 2004 campaign.

273 Perplexed  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 11:32:51am

F*ck Kerry in the worst possible way. Become his worst sexual nightmare. Let the sights, sounds, smells, and tactile sensations become living horrors to him.

274 Beagle  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 11:55:43am

John Kerry's secret to success was being born into wealth and then marrying greater wealth - twice. It's a great job if you can get it. Along the way he parlayed defaming the troops into a senate seat. If Kerry's not ripping our troops in the most insulting ways possible he's not being true to himself.

Kerry believes righteous anger makes him virtuous. He has a lot in common with Muslim clerics in that regard.

But then again, Pat, at his "press conference" he had to read from a sheet of paper.. you'd think if you were that "righteous" you wouldn't need a crib sheet, it would come from your heart.

This man, has no heart, and barely a soul.

276 twincitiesgirl  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 12:37:24pm

McCain is exactly right of course. Kerry's remark about debating real men is laughable. He wouldn't know a real man if he saw one--and given the crowd he hangs with, it's very unlikely he will.

We have family members who signed up for the army, one at age 17, right after 9/11. He decided to defer college to serve his country in a time of war. He was nearly killed twice in his first tour and is currently in his second tour in Iraq. His brother just returned a few months ago.

My husband's family lost a son last year in a roadside bomb in Iraq. He had been married less than a year and had finished his master's degree the year before.

What the Kerry's and Sheehan's of this world simply don't understand is that there are people who genuinely care about the future of our country and the world and are doing something about it. To question their integrity, bravery and patriotism is beyond contempt.

I think Jesus said it best in the gospel of John 15 "13) Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his another."

277 totochi  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 1:27:45pm

I saw Kerry live on CNN and he made me physically sick.

This is the new Democrat style—nasty, insulting, and in your face.

Ummm, Charles - it ain't new. :-(

280 Gruen  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 1:49:35pm

281 sngnsgt  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 2:09:39pm

Tweety-Bird om MSNPMS is defending this idiot right now, is this the October surprise from Democrats?

282 Colt  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 2:20:39pm

Damn.

Bush's supposed lack of education is a favourite point for the Democrats. It is possible Kerry was referring to that.

But this response makes me glad I voted for Bush, and reminds me of what a cretinous loser John Kerry is.

283 Colt  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 2:23:25pm

Incidentally, what the fuck does a Massachusetts liberal, a veteran who defamed 2 million Americans who served in the military in Vietnam, know about 'real men'?

284 T_IT_UP  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 3:08:08pm

Sen. Skerry -- The words of a fool are his own ridicule. "Of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaketh."

285 chubby vegan  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 3:15:12pm

Ok kids, at least they are not condescending... Here is a real comment from a Kerry supporter on his blog

"I am SO glad Sen. Kerry did not take the shameless GOP distortions of his remarks lying down. Only an idiot would think he could insult our troops. It was obvious to anyone but a cretin that
he meant BUSH was "stuck" in Iraq, not our brave, betrayed-by-Bush soldiers."

See, if we don't just automatically assume that he's a great guy who supports the troops we are "an idiot" or "a cretin".

286 MichaelMooreSucks  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 3:29:55pm

I'm also just SO sure they'd give a Republican the benefit of the doubt and say that they were misquoted.

287 ToxMan  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 3:44:15pm

While John Kerry was addressing a group of college students in Pasadena, someone asked, "where did you get the Lurch costume for Halloween? I want one too."

288 rnf  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 4:13:44pm

Kerry: Those who have not worn the uniform in service to this country have no right to trash the military. Only people like me who *have* worn the uniform in service to this country can trash the military!

289 mattm  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 4:30:14pm

Wow. I didn't expect a response like that. It is Clinton 2.0? I think this Kerry thing will become the October Suprize that will ensure the Dems defeat.

Incidentally, what the fuck does a Massachusetts liberal, a veteran who defamed 2 million Americans who served in the military in Vietnam, know about 'real men'?

He didn't just defame 2 million military; his role in the US pullout led directly to the BRUTAL MURDERS of 2 million Indochinese.

Killing fields ring a bell?

This is the new Democrat style—nasty, insulting, and in your face.

Actually, it's the venerable Republican style—nasty, insulting, and in your face. Kerry's attack on Bush, who in Kerry's view got the country stuck in Iraq, is being twisted by the Republicans into a slur against the troops, which is manifestly not what was intended. Brit Hume on The Fox Report had no trouble discerning Kerry's actual message.

It's certainly fair to disagree with Kerry on the extent of President Bush's responsibility for the present situation, where our troops are caught in the middle of sectarian and tribal violence resulting from the collapse of the Iraqi state. However, Kerry is rightly outraged about these Republican smear tactics.

296 Trencavel  Tue, Oct 31, 2006 8:08:15pm

May be a cliche by now but Kerry and all te appeasing, collaborationist, seditious traitors of the Democrat party should heed and remember Orwell -

" We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm. "
