-RetweetAl Qaeda to Democrats: We Won When You Won

Fri, Dec 22, 2006 at 2:53:18 pm PST

Everybody wants the credit for the Democrats’ success in the mid-term elections: Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.

In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.

“The first is that you aren’t the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen — the Muslim Ummah’s vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq — are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost,” Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.

Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.

“And if you don’t refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate,” he said.

UPDATE at 12/22/06 3:17:34 pm:

The verdict from the Kos Kidz on this disquieting shout-out from one of the world’s most rabid terrorists: “The analysis is quite accurate.” (Hat tip: Killgore Trout.)

What I find remarkable is al-Zawahari’s insight into American politics.  He understands the last election was about George Bush’s war.  He understands that we are Americans first and that party affiliation is, where foreign policy is concerned, less relevant.  He warns all Americans that we share the responsibility as a country for allowing George Bush to occupy Iraq, and ignore the plight of the Palestinians.  The warnings are strong, and the analysis is quite accurate.

3 _remembertonyc  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 12:56:06pm

the Dems have been presented with a golden opportunity to tell the islamonazis to shove it up their asses. zawahiri is essentially telling us to "bring it on," and if the dem leadership has any clue whatsoever, they'll publicly state that George Bush represents all of us and they can go f**k themselves.

But I will not hold my breath b/c the dems probably agree with zawahiri

Its all a stupid bunch of lies, as you would expect from them.

Especially this part: “And if you don’t refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate,” he said.

Stealing the treasures? Last I heard, we are spending billions of dollars of month on Iraq. And not getting any "treasure" for it . And who knows how much money we pay the Arabs for their oil. Is this the treasure they speak of?

And don't expect the Democrats to stop backing Israel, except for Jimmy Carter.

If they won the elections, then I would expect to see them on the floor of the Senate and the House next month.

"Dr." al-Zawahiri is obviously behind the curve. The Democrats' "Shadow State Department" (to bowdlerize an Anglicism) is already busy negotiating with Syria, and I suspect Iran is next on their MidEast package tour. The best bet is, the Democrats will soon openly tell Israel to "sod off", pleasing al-Qaeda, the Koslings, and their own intellectuals no end.

And giving the majority of Jews in the U.S. who are one of the Party's most rock-solid voting blocs a very hard choice to make.

The outcome should be interesting, to say the least.

I know this because the KOS kids, big media, democrat moonbats and mama Sheehan all agree on this, so it has to be true. It does not mean anything at all that the terrorits feel fine talking with Democrats. Never mind that at all. Nope, ignore it. It's really the EEEvil republithugs who truely have it out for Israel.

I never claimed to be omniscient. I'll have to look into this.

All I can say is that I've never met any Jews here in central Ohio ( and there are more here than you might think) who are remotely "anti"- Israeli, policy-wise or any other wise. In fact, there are quite a few here who have relatives living in Israel, serving in the IDF, or both.

Of course, I also know a lot of local Democrats who say their party is not anti-defense, anti-gun, or in favor of raising taxes, too.

Cognitive dissonance on their part?

Definitely need to check further into this.

Tomorrow. Movie time, then bedtime.

Thanks, and good night.

The fact that these filthy primitive 7th century Mohammedan goatfu*kers fell ass-backwards into black gold is one of the world’s greatest ironies. You know, if I were to belive in God the same way that Christians did, I would almost think that the muslims were placed in the land with the oil (that the world needs) as a mechanism to ensure that they do get eliminated as a people.

I'm positive that if there was a Satan, that there could be no greater culture than that of the muslims that embody everything that is evil. The way they treat women, children, criminals, or anyone else that does not do exactly what they want. The way that they demand blind faith and obediance upon pain of death for every single thing. The way that the worship death and those that kill innocents. Hell, even their music. They worship a god of the night who's prophet liked to behead his subjects and who boinked little boys.

If these people existed anywhere else, good christians wouldn't waste the time or effort to eliminate them, as long as they left everyone else alone. But, since they live in the one place where the greatest natural resource humanity has is found everywhere AND they are unable to even collect the stuff themselves, tells me that they are the one great hurdle the world has to over come in order to progress humanity. Otherwise, if they were in say, Outer Mongolia or Darfur, no one would care.

I posted this in November, but it applies here:

The last elections are in no way a victory for any islamic country. The islamics are the big losers though they don't realize it.

Because the results of this past election mean that the clock has run out on the pass that we have given the islamics to get their own crazies under control.

Americans won't support the gentler approach anymore. No, we won't take the constant picking off of our bravest in Iraq and Afganistan while we give - for how long - 100 years? the islamic world a shot at civilization.

It is plain that the USA wants to win wars quickly and get them over with. This means that after the next big attack the hammer will fall.

It won't matter if the Democrats are in power, in fact it will be easier to respond brutally if the Democrats ARE in power.

Truman, who nuked Japan, was a Democrat. And the islamics don't seem able to control themselves.

This is going to end badly, really really badly.

For the islamics.

Unfortunately, these times remind me more of 1939 - ala Neville Chamberlain. I think our new Congress, with its super-liberal leaders, will continue to have their collective heads in the sand until the next attack on our soil. Unless we show that we mean business, and we are not afraid, our enemies will work hard to defeat us.

I talk to my Jewish mother about this all the time.

I talk to her about the Jew hatred of the Dems and that the Republicans of today are not anything like the Rs of her youth. She can't see it.

I don't get it.

Fortunately we don't let our politics come between our love.

It is discouraging though.

It seems that the statement's purpose was to raise the rhethorical hackles from both parties and further erode any possibility of strengthening bipartisanship on the war in Iraq and foreign policy in general. A simple suggestion is not to rise to the bait but this sort of transparent propaganda is merely tactical and of not much consequence in the end in any case . One happy point to consider, it does make it clear that al- quaida does fear a politically united U.S of A.

The terrorist leadership is working a plan right out of the Ho Chi Minh playbook. It doesn't matter if they are getting their asses handed to them on the battlefield, the jihadists are just cannon fodder to their leadership. The real battle is being fought through the MSM with the assistance of anti-war politicians. Well, point taken, but it's kind of like opening the barn doors after the horses have escaped.

At this point, the Democrats have drifted so far Left that the Republicans can't really go over there to meet them. It's basically all down to what the Dems do and say now.

Given recent history, and particularly the Dem ideal of Compromise as "do what we want" (at least since Bush I was elected), it doesn't look promising.

Hey, wouldn't be grand if the Reps and Dems could shelve changes in other policies for 5 years, agree to disagree, and put some attention into finishing this fight.

Well, ain't gonna happen. Heck, we can't even get them to agree it's a war at all, define its borders and boundaries, and recent events indicate that their leadership is awfully confused as to who the enemy is.

Heck, we're lucky to get the Republicans to do those things half the time.

So basically, yeah, Al Qaeda wants to see divided US leadership.

But I really think they think that Democratic leadership would be better for them than divided leadership.

I mean, honestly, who is more likely to abandon Iraq and Israel (which is EXACTLY what Al Qaeda wants), the R-party or the D-party?

120 Aegius  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 6:11:05pm

Frankly I doubt that the Dems. will do much of anything substantial or effective regarding Iran, Iraq, Al Queda or other situations of national security. Still the good news is that many Dems. are of the moderate kind or atleast not so progressive anyway. We don't know what will happen and we will have to see. The Dems. don't want to appear to be wimps, so they might show some back bone and Nancy Pelosi is not an idiot; that's why she put the impeachment idea off the table. If she kept it on, the Dems. would look like mean-spirited, vicious jackasses and morons and she knows it. They would surely lose in 2008.

Anyway:

“And if you don’t refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate,” he said.

Stealing what treasures? Your civ. is a collection of hate-filled, autocratic ratholes except for Turkey. Do you think we are going to steal the Egyptian pyramids maybe? The huge mosques in Pakistan and Uzbekistan? The Bamiyah statue in Afghanistan? Oh, give me a break. Oil prices go up and are out of our hands. If anything, you are STEALING OUR TREASURE by ripping us off when it comes to oil.

Occupying lands? Like we really want to be in Iraq or Afghanistan. /sarc/ If you didn't attack us on 9/11, we wouldn't be there, MORON! Backing Israel? Hey, we know that if Israel goes, we are next, so shove it!

Again, Nancy Pelosi is not a fool. I think that she is wrong most of the time, but I will give her the chance she has earned and now deserves. All we can do is give her the benefit of the doubt, despite our reservations and see what she does.

Again to any Dems., congradulations. You won and now you have the helm. Good luck and God-speed!

It is obvious to me that the anti-Bush/Republican movement in this country has more than emboldened the Islaom-fasciast OBL/Al Zawahiri and their likes. It reminds me of Hanoi echoing the Left in the 60's.
A united America would strike terror in the "TERRORISTS".
Think about it. Instead of thousands of demonstrators carrying "BUSH is a NAZI!" signs, consider the impact of thousands of signs reading "DEATH to AL ZAWAHARI" or "DEATH TO IRAN" or "ISLAM is the GREAT SATAN!"...How would that play in Terhan?..The caves of Pakistan?...Boston?...Berkley?
My point is, LGF'ers and our sort have figured this out long ago. Why the F**K can't the Democrats see this. Are they REALLY in kahoots with the ENEMY, or are they just F'ing stupid. Too stupid to deserve their political positions.

Sorry, but you won't see demonstrations with "Death to ___" (whoever or whatever). It's just not in the American national character to do so. We are too laid back for it. Actually it is the central issue in the ME, if you read the Lebanon Daily Star or other ME papers. For Al Queda, and Iran America is the central issue. Israel is just a side show that Al Queda mistaken ignored and Iran deals with secondarily.

I agree with you the barn door maybe open but the corral is another matter. This war can easily last another 5 years. If a democratic contender emerges who has a basic understanding of the wars reality and it becomes apparent he can form a constituency that can win, will the republicans play ball with him. I'm not aware( I'm a canuck) of the pool of democratic govenors(most likely pool of potential winning candidates) who could be realistically gamed as a national candidate based on their political values. If worse comes to worse who in the democrats is worthy of riding in the saddle? If electoral defeat is a real possibility, who can you live with? I'm curious to hear what any of you think

127 tuesday  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 7:18:24pm

everyone keeps referring to the eye opening moment when the next big attack arrives and the dimmocrats open their eyes wide, and say oh man, we are not in kansas anymore. 128 Richard Plantagenet  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 7:22:10pm

We don't need demonstrations in the streets to have a more muscular policy against terrorism. We simply need more determination from our government. George Bush deserves a great deal of credit for taking the war to Al Qaida in Aghanistan, and defeating the army in the field and pushing the Taliban out of Aghanistan. However, Bush failed to be equally aggressive in fighting the enemy in Iraq, and now it maybe too late. In Iraq the US forces easily defeated the Iraqi army, but we never defeated the Baathist organisation and the Sunni people who supported Saddam and ruled Iraq prior to the invasion. When the insurgency first began in Fallujah and other Sunni towns, the military should've ruthlessly suppressed it. But we didn't, and now the war has grown into a religous civil war.

I can only think of a handful of Republicans who MIGHT be willing to stand up to this threat. And even then, I'm probably overly optimistic. Dems? No, there's nobody I can think of who is remotely tuned in to the situation. If anyone knows of one, please tell me. It would make my weekend.

135 bigdada  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 9:57:50pm

My argument wasn't meant to imply some arbitrary time limit but to open up a discussion around the idea of bipartisanship if the republicans are defeated but salvaging institutional continuity in foreign policy with a Democrat. My suggestion was concerned primarily with the idea of building an effective political alliance IF NEED BE. Since historically Governors, not senators are usually elected to the presidency my question remains unaddressed: Is there a Democratic governor currently sitting whose political values are compatible with a realistic war fighting policy?

136 Outrider  Fri, Dec 22, 2006 10:11:29pm

After reading what Kos claims is really the full text (the version that mentions Republicans and President Bush) I fail to see what elates Kos kids so much. This is less a slam on President Bush and more a slam on the entire nation and all Americans. Kos and their little gang hardly come out looking, well...even close to good. It is more inflammatory than the ABC version.

ABC states:

In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today

Why does ABC only print a minor portion of the tape and not the entire transcript? Why do I have to go to Kos kids to read the whole transcript never knowing if it is an accurate version or not. Not that I don't trust Kos...(almost snorted there)

102 Useless

If the Europeans and the West had realized the value of the oil under the Middle East 100 years earlier, we would be discussing Islam and the Arabs in the same manner cultural anthropologists present the Aztecs or the Delaware tribes

The Arabs are lucky the Europeans were distracted by a series of contenential and global conflicts between 1860 and 1980. These wars left Europe demographically exhausted, morally and ethically compromised by relativism and socialism, and simply tired of killing millions. This fugue can pass.

Today's Moslem extremists are playing a dangerous game of brinksmanship. If their oil runs out, is rendered meaningless by relentless innovation, or a wave of populism sweeps the West it will get ugly and it won't matter who is in power.

I was over at Powerline reading some of John Hinderaker's post about Zawahiri latest tape. The 2nd-in-command-cave-thug says on his tape:

The first is that you aren’t the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost: rather, the Mujahideen – the Muslim Ummah’s vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq – are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost.

Go ahead and gloat, Dems. What he's telling you is that al Qaeda is proceeding just as OBL said they would - they are breaking the wills of the weak in America: that's right - the Dems. Just as OBL learned from watching Clinton turn tail and run in Somolia, he knew exactly what the left and their friends in the media were capable of here in our country.

You cowards might as well go ahead and change the name of your party to the Dhimmicrats.

The scrabbly-faced low-life cave-thug goes on:

. . .we must be conscious of and focus on and repeatedly emphasize, is that the fighting must be for elevating the Word of Allah, and that the elevation of Allah’s Word on His earth means the elevation of His Law (Shari’ah), and that the Muslim cannot possibly be a believer without litigating to Divine Law alone to the exclusion of all other laws. [Koran quote omitted.] Thus, it is unimaginable that the Muslims could create a government in Palestine or elsewhere based on the rule of other than the Shari’ah, and whose authority doesn’t come from the Shari’ah.

This little cockroach clearly sees al Qaeda and Islam involved in a fight against not only the west but all of Christianity; yet here in America (and the rest of the world) we are way too concerned with "not offending" Islam to see this.

How pitiful.

The left is all up in arms about our government "trampling on" various rights, yet they seemingly care little that surrendering to the swine of Islam will result in our citizens having NO RIGHTS at all.

Disgusting.

But hey, as I said before, the Dems (Dhims) and al Qaeda are united in their struggle against America.

142 jetpilot1101  Sat, Dec 23, 2006 5:33:51am

Let me paint a picture for you:

New York is no longer called New York but instead New Mecca. Where the cathedral once stood, now stands a huge mosque. Women in burqas walk the streets, there is not a dog to be seen and not one english sign is left.

Think I'm kidding, wait a few years. If we keep giving into these people, they WILL accomplish what Hitler was unable to, namely the destruction of Israel and the defeat of the US.

History will not look kindly on those that made it happen. History doesn't forget and as long as the democrats have their names associated with AQ and OBL, their cause is damaged. 200 years from now, our progeny will look back on our generation and the folks who appeased Islam and spit much as we look back at Chamberlain and spit.

Think about it.

Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised by this. I have never seen so much intense hatred toward a sitting president. The vitriol from the Left toward people on the Right is enormous. I would figure that I was reading comments by OBL on America or something and I personally can't stand seeing such hatred unless it is toward someone who really deserved it.

The closest equivalent of antagonism on the Right would be toward Jimmy Carter. I can't stand Jimmy Carter either, but has anyone called for his demise? If he died tommorrow, he would be doing us a favor, but I won't wish for his death.
