The Sound of Silence

Tue, Jan 23, 2007 at 8:25:07 am PST

Did you hear something?

Was that a pin dropping, or was it mainstream media and left-wing blogs completely ignoring the debunking of Jamil Hussein and the Associated Press? Jamilgate: Eerie silence from E&P about Hot Air’s Hurriya mosques report.

Editor and Publisher’s Greg Mitchell and his friends in the loony left blogosphere fell all over themselves grandstanding and gloating following AP’s “proof” that Jamil Hussein exists. Now we know that “Hussein” may exist—under a different name—but he was also lying and exaggerating. The Associated Press printed his deceit as if it were gospel truth, then arrogantly slammed bloggers for questioning their godlike omnipotence.

And now, two days after Michelle Malkin proved the Hurriyah report was almost completely invented, the silence is deafening.
