9/11 Conspiracy Film on Virgin Airlines

Wed, May 2, 2007 at 8:39:22 am PDT

This qualifies as one of the outrages of the year: Virgin Atlantic Airlines is showing the evil, dishonest 9/11 conspiracy film Loose Change as inflight entertainment.

Are these people insane? Maybe next they can have a retrospective of the works of Leni Riefenstahl.

Contact information for Virgin Atlantic is here; I urge LGF readers to express their outrage to the airline.

The real question now, will the also offer the "Unfastened Coins" documentary?

Maybe next they can have a retrospective of the works of Leni Riefenstahl.

Frankly, I'd find that less offensive. Riefenstahl was basically an amoral opportunist; the Loose Change scumbags are active, committed agents of evil.

Maybe Virgin can also show that gripping Protocols of the Elders of Zion t.v. series from Egypt.

What a disgrace. It's a shame, too, because I've generally been fairly impressed with Virgin.

Hey, it's just art man... Don't have a cow! Truth to power. Bush knew! /L3

This is the pablum that the media and entertainment industry puts out during a war with jihadis who think nothing of blowing themselves up around the world.

We hear about suicide bombings around the world practically every day - car bombings, truck bombs, and even suicide bomb vests. What makes anyone think that terrorists would not try to commit a suicide bombing with a plane? After all, that's exactly what al Qaeda said it would do.

Yet, these idiots who run Virgin and the media outlets continue to run out conspiracy mongering pieces knowing full well that it's nothing but pure bunk. There's absolutely no evidence of a conspiracy other than the jihadis themselves conspiring to commit mass murder.

I was at a convention awhile ago. Branson was the keynote. When he was introduced, techno music blared from the loudspeakers in sync with half a dozen lasers.

He emerged from a wall of dry ice blown by a fog machine. Then he ran backwards around the stage making little circle moves with his hands, pretending to shoot people with his forefingers.

When the monomanical hype stopped and he closed his ridiculously comic chomper and walked up to the podium to speak, all I remember is that he referred to himself in the third person for the next 20 minutes.

Branson did this. Branson did that. Branson flew around the world in a balloon. What a corndog.

I figure Branson as a nutter, albeit a successful one who has done well by the capitalist system.

He shows up on various Weather Channel global warming propaganda along with the Reverend Al Sharpton, General Weasel Clarke and others, with their raving pro-censorship moonbat "doctor' Heidi Cullen (whose bachelor's is in Near-East Religion), so it is pretty safe to say he is a nutter.

Virgins in lieu of VICTORY over jihadists.

Yesterday's WaPo article about Prince Harry going to Iraq noted Prince William danced with "Branson"'s daughter, and Gore-bot wimpy Prince Charles has declared global warming similar to WWII.

These guys are like Prince Edward, slated to be king of England, yet who sided with the Austrian painter and national socialist threatening global war.

Thank God for Baltmore socialite Wallis Simpson (?) who married Britain's Nought-Zee heir and thus disqualified another self-hater from pulling an English Djhimmi Carter-like sellout of his country to the enemy.

If this becomes a trend on other flights, I'm going to flight school and renting puddle jumpers from now on. Well, once I get residency in Wyoming, I'm hoping to go to school for a professional pilot license this might just push up my time table residency be damn and just pay for the higher tuition for now until then. No amount of booze preflight and during could help with this movie, I find screaming babies to less irritating.

Were the twin towers brought down in a controlled explosion for an insurance payday?

As I recall, the Towers' owner had to take his insurance company to court, in that coverage for loss on the towers only covered the loss of one in a single event. He had to sue because the insurers considered the two crashes part of the same event. I don't know the final disposition of the case, but if the Towers' owner lost, that "insurance payday" would have been about a billion dollars short. What a deal.

There's at least one adult who will never fly Virgin if at all possible, as who knows, some lunatic might be at the controls of the airplane, because there sure as hell aren't any thinking adults making decisions in the offices.

In a sane world, "United 93" would be shown right after the "fasten your seatbelt" sign went on.

C'mon, FAA, IATA, ATA, ask your member airlines to show "United 93" on their flights as a safety or training feature.

81 lawhawk  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:13:21am

#73 jack reacher:

It gets better than that. Larry Silverstein purchased the WTC lease six weeks prior to the attacks and was still negotiating the insurance agreements when the attacks occurred. Some of the insurers were using language that allowed for each plane strike to be categorized as an individual attack, while others lumped each plane strike together as a single attack.

All in all, if this was all about the insurance, the attacks came when the insurance stuff wasn't settled and that the agreements were written in such a way that you couldn't get a maximum payout and leaves everyone short on rebuilding.

I'm actually quite in favor of airlines ignoring this "rule", and treating their passengers like grownups who are capable of realizing that a movie of a plane crashing isn't going to make their plane crash.

Of course, that's not to excuse the fact that in this case, they're breaking the "rule" in order to show hateful, paranoid idiocy.

85 miamitech  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:17:23am

it reminds me of the airplane movie. Except this is real and that was a comedy. Or is this a comedy and the movie Airplane real.

#80 alegrias:

C'mon, FAA, IATA, ATA, ask your member airlines to show "United 93" on their flights as a safety or training feature.

At least one scene could be directly incorporated into the standard safety video:

"In the event of an attempted hijacking, passengers are instructed to do this:" [roll the footage from United 93 in which a passenger connects a steel oxygen bottle with a terrorist's skull, with an audible "crack"]

87 sharona  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:17:47am

This really amazes me for another reason: doesn't this so-called documentary impugn the pilots of the aircraft that were flown into the WTC? And can't Virgin's pilots shut the entertainment system down? I know my brother (a commercial pilot) can for whatever reasons he deems necessary.

Does the Pilots' union know about this? It might be worthwhile to send a letter to them about this.

88 Ringo the Gringo  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:19:12am
Dear Sirs,

My wife and I are planning to take our daughter to London this summer but upon learning that Virgin Atlantic has chosen to offer the deranged conspiratorial documentary Loose Change as an in-flight movie I will most certainly not be flying on your airline.

Two friends of mine, and their two year old daughter, were killed by Islamic terrorists on Sept. 11th when the plane they were flying in hit the World Trade Center and the thought that an airline would allow this film to be viewed by passengers while in flight literally makes me sick to my stomach.

Please reconsider this decision and remove this foul movie from your in-flight selections.

Sincerely

...and I signed my real name

89 Spiritualized  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:19:20am

I heard that story about Mario Gallegos and the Dems trying to kill the picture ID to vote bill.

How transparent that the Dems want illegal aliens to vote, along with multiple voting and other sundry forms of voter fraud.

BTW, Gallegos and his liver transplant that may keep him from the Texas Senate. I know its possible for someone with a completly pristine lifestyle to develop liver disease, but most people who need transplants either suffer alcoholic cirrhosis, or have contracted Hepatitis, usually from unsafe sex (Jim Nabors comes to mind) or IV drug use (David Crosby, although he could be a booze hound as well). I wonder which one fits Gallegos.

My coworkers were on a flight JFK-LHR that was delayed because somebody was arrested on the airplane by the heavy-duty guys before takeoff. (That was before 9/11/01. Apparently threats are taken less seriously now.)

96 pat  Wed, May 2, 2007 9:27:55am

So is Virgin saying American Airlines was a co-conspirator

The story is disturbing from another point of view. While it quaintly reflects the predominate view in London that good Americans are dead Americans and thus the movie validates what the Brits perceive to be the self destructive nature of Americans, the placement of this film also brings into focus the question of who would want to fly an airliner run by the delusional.

now see, Imus and Dan Rather could have kept their jobs if CBS had taken this tack:

Did George Bush screw the Air National Guard or are these memos from Bill Burkett faked? You decide.

Or am I thinking of someone else?

I already decided. What you mean is "Let this film decide for you, dumb sheep".

Everyone's talking about it so we thought you'd like to see

Everyone? Literally everyone, huh. Well I'll be.

You thought I'd like to see it? How nice.

Everyone's talking about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, too, in some parts of the world. Maybe you'd think I'd like to see that, too.

Now it's your chance to make up your own mind.

By watching this film, of course, because nearly six years of hearing this crap debunked just wasn't enough.

And this dreck is the SEQUEL? How many more of these blockbusters are there going to be? How many volumes of "Forgive my grief" are there?

Save your travek dollars and come to the STate of Virginia in the USA instead.

Even the Queen of England herself is coming to Virginia next week to commemorate 400 years since the more enlightened folks left the olde country for fair Virginia and landed at Jamestown, VA.

Forget Virgin, remember The Olde Virginia Company -- then come to Williamsburg, Virginia for a fabulous time.

anything to hurt George Bush, doesn’t even matter if it's a complete lie, the dems love it.
The dems use it. The dems excuse it.

The American people hate liars. It's time to shove loose change down the dems collective throats.

As long as "Virgin Airlines" is showing an anti-democracy, anti-American film, why can't I request they show an anti-Virgin film, as well. I say bring on porn. Yes, show porn films galore on their airlines. If they can offend the US, they can offend those "family-types," too. After all, it's just entertainment.

I for one do hope Branson uses his brilliance to help Iraq's airport become a new global hub. I want to visit the Madan marshes and see how goes George Bush's restoration of arguably the world's greatest ecological disaster perpetrated by Saddam Hussein on wetlands.

I understand what you are saying.

But people like this, who see nothing but profits, especially while they are pontificating the virtues of their own carbon neutral lifestyles, turning a blind eye to oil for food, or contributing to enemies who slander the very people in there now attempting to establish normalcy, and the possibility of freedom, so inhabitants of a free country can get on a plane, use a cell phone, watch cable tv, etc.

I hell, I hate these hypocrites, and will never support them financially.

Great post.

In the end, though, it's Branson's airline. If he wants to show this rubbish, that's his choice. I'll make my oppostion known by not ever flying Virgin. One question I have, though: Does Virgin believe the terrorist threat is overstated? If they do, then why bother with the cost associated with a high level of security? Is it up to the airline to determine the security procedures for passengers who board their planes? If so, I'd think Virgin would relax security to a level that reflects the threat as they perceive it.

Improving tourism to Williamsburg and Mount Vernon, Virginia are personal goals--I've come to think of modern Northern Virginia as DJhihadi NOrthern Virginia, a formerly respectable red state gone moonbat. Now that liberals who bash Bush Rep. DJhim Moran and Sens. DJhim Webb and DJhohn Warner are my representatives, I've lost respect for fellow Virginians who vote moonbat.

The Pentagon against whom Al Qaeda sent killer pilots is in Arlington, Virginia though many leftists in Arlington, Virginia deny 9/11 and vote leftist like 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

If this becomes a trend on other flights, I'm going to flight school and renting puddle jumpers from now on.

You will be happy you did. Flying small, General Aviation airplanes around the U.S. will introduce you to a family of Real Americans, who are proud of who they are and what they do. They will toss you the keys to their airport car, and say 'just put a little gas in it', and bend over backward to help you.

It is a transformation back into 1950 America, and will be one of the most uplifting things you can do.

And I haven't even mentioned the fun of the flying itself!

150 Jimmy Doolittle  Wed, May 2, 2007 12:22:12pm

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law just recently moved from northern Virginia to West Virginia (he works for the FBI and was transferred). He worked the scene at the Pentagon after 9/11, but I haven't talked to him about it yet. I'm not sure if he'd talk or not, but I'm anxious to ask him about what he saw there, especially since the asinine conspiracy theorists insist that a missile hit the Pentagon. Yet, there are photos clearly showing rows of seats in the Pentagon wreckage, with bodies still sitting upright. How in the hell can someone still conclude that a plane did not hit there?

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but Virginia is quite a nice state. When I was in school at Tennessee, we drove home to PA on I-81 and got to see much of Virginia. If we were visiting my brother-in-law, we'd take Rt. 7 east toward Tyson's Corner. A very nice drive. Quite a few horse farms, and it seemed like it was a million miles from DC. It's sad that it's become a moonbat gathering place.

153 skysoldier  Wed, May 2, 2007 1:47:10pm

Oh yeah, forgot in my last post... but on my last Virgin flight I did notice that as part of the navigation page on the in flight entertainment is a screen that points to the proper distance and direction towards mecca. Useful information for in flight prayer or targeting indirect fire....

154 Robert O.  Wed, May 2, 2007 2:02:19pm
Good evening ladies and gentlemen and thank you for choosing to fly with Virgin Airlines. We have some great documentaries to show you as part of our brand new in-flight entertainment. Our first movie this evening will be Loose Change. This will be followed by a screening of Triumph of the Will. Please also ask your flight attendant for our new in-flight magazine service, where we will bring you subscriptions like the Socialist Worker and the International Jew. Copies of the Koran are also available at your request.

We hope you enjoy your flight. And once again, thanks for flying with us.

155 jjag  Wed, May 2, 2007 2:15:18pm

Sirs,

Please pass along to your executives that at least one American will never fly your airline again.

Showing a piece of lunatic garbage such as "Loose Change" on your flights indicates such a massive, incomprehensible, amount of bad (or malicious) judgment that its hard to believe you manage to get your planes in the air much less stay in business.

To the extent that I can help your business fail in the future, I will happily endeavor.

I lost a dozen friends and business associates on 9/11. To have their memories blackened by the depiction of this event as anything other than what it OBVIOUSLY was is beyond the pale, disgusting.

I don't know who sickens me more, the fiends who fabricated "Loose Change" to advance a corrupt, political, agenda or Virgin, a seemingly mature business entity that should certainly be capable of seeing through such crap.

May those of you at Virgin who endorse the showing "Loose Change" (anywhere) rot in hell.

157 Shiplord Kirel  Wed, May 2, 2007 2:26:14pm

A few years ago, a US airline contacted me about reprinting one of my short stories in their inflight magazine. Considering the miniscule circulation, they were offering an amazing paycheck and I readily agreed.

They asked for one change, out of "sensitivity to the inflight environment." They wanted me to delete an oblique reference to a bomb hoax at a supermarket. It was a humorous story, the bomb hoax subplot was not an actual terror attack and not on an airplane, but it was still enough for them to think it might disturb the readers.

Since it was peripheral to the story anyway, I made the requested deletion, but it is an amazing contrast to Virgin's decision to show an alleged documentary about a mass murder/hijacking that really happened.

They should change their name to Dhimmi-slut Atlantic.

158 jwbaumann  Wed, May 2, 2007 2:42:18pm

I sent them an email advising them that it appeared their site had been hacked.

159 Zack  Wed, May 2, 2007 2:53:57pm

Other than factual problems, the Truthers have an additional complication. Even if muslims weren't behind 9/11, and Bin Laden's (et al) brag about it is a lie, what about all the orgasmic celebrations of 9/11 throughout the muslim world?

Anyone who would find those celebrations acceptable is in a category beneath humanity. Not that there has ever been any doubt of that rather obvious fact.

Dear Virgin Atlantic,
As a member of the Virgin Flying Club (member # XXXXXXXXXXX), I'd like to express my outrage that you are showing the "Loose Change" movie as Inflight Entertainment. When I saw the listing, as a documentary for crying out loud, and the "Here's your chance to make up your mind" comment, I nearly lost control. Are you actually saying that you, Richard Branson, and the rest of Virgin believe there is a possibility of ANY part of "Loose Change" being true? The movie is one lie after another, and slanders the US and the US government in every possible way. Do you have ANY thoughts that the US government would slaughter its own citizens? By the mere act of you placing this movie on your inflight entertainment, you have implied that there IS some credibility to their accusations, and that only how much of the movie is true is something for each to decide. Would you put up a movie extolling the virtues of Idi Amin, or of Stalin, or of the Nazi Holocaust (or maybe you believe that didn't happen)? Remove this movie from your inflight entertainment immediately. I will not patronize Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Records, or any other Virgin entity unless you do, EVER.

My real name and town

My letter to Virgin.. I couldn't stay as polite as you people..

Are you people totally fucking stupid? Why the fuck are you showing Loose Change on your flights. Why you don’t show Birth of a Nation or Leni Riefenstahl movies also?

Basically, if you’re showing insane movies that are saying that 9/11 is a government conspiracy then maybe you don’t believe that Islamist hijackers piloted planes into those buildings. And if you believe that, that means you really don’t give a fuck about airline security. So fuck you and fuck your sorry ass airline. I WILL NEVER FUCK FLY YOUR SHITTY AIRLINE OR BUY ANYTHING FROM YOUR FUCKING STORES.

Fuck you very much,
