Pay No Attention to the Radical Islamist Behind the Curtain

Fri, May 11, 2007 at 6:41:41 pm PDT

In an article on the fires in Georgia and Florida, the Associated Press inadvertently reveals who’s pulling their strings, with a completely egregious and out of context fawning reference to the Council on American Islamic Relations: Second Wildfire Breaks Out in Georgia Swamp; Florida Fires Still Raging.

Jim Harrell, a spokesman for the Florida Division of Forestry, said the situation hadn’t changed throughout the day Thursday. But another official says there is concern about winds picking up and fanning the flames.

As of Friday, the number of active fires has dropped from 236 to 223, with about 140 square miles —- over 87,000 acres — burnt. Seven homes in the state were destroyed.

Other large fires are burning in Bradford and Collier County.

Meanwhile, the Council on American-Islamic Relations says Florida Muslims are offering special prayers for rains at mosques on their religion’s day of rest.

In northern Minnesota, high wind fanned a fire around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, prompting more evacuations.

Bill Paxton, a spokesman for the firefighting effort, said the fire was “challenging” the containment lines. “They’re holding right now,” he said. “We’re having some difficulty holding them, but they’re holding now.”

Wow.

Florida Muslims Asked to Pray For Rain; CAIR - FL Urges People of All Faiths to Join Statewide Spiritual Effort

The special Islamic prayer for rain, called Salatul Istisqa (sal-AT-al-
istis-KA), was performed by the Prophet Muhammad and is traditionally offered during times of drought.
In Salatul Istisqa, the Prophet would offer supplications such as: "O God, give us a saving rain. . .O God, (Your) servants, land, animals, and (Your) creation are all suffering and seek protection. . .O God, remove from us the hardship, starvation and barrenness, and remove the affliction from us, as no one removes afflictions save Thee."

Pattani - Muslim insurgents staged three arson attacks against two schools and a community clinic early Sunday morning, police said.

A fire was set to a two-storey building of Ban Klong Chang School in Tambon Naket of Pattani's Khok Pho district at half an hour past midnight, police said. The fire destroyed the entire building.

At 2:50 am, a fire was set to the canteen building of Tanyong School in Tambon Muangtia of Mae Lan district in Pattani. It was completely destroyed.

Ms. Kelly
Reno, Nevada 89521-9321

Dear Ms.

Thank you for contacting me regarding my recent comments on the situation in Iraq. I appreciate hearing from you.

Our troops have battled courageously in Iraq for over four years. They toppled a dictator and have helped to rebuild a war torn nation. But now, they are caught in a civil war between warring Iraqi religious and political factions. As General Petraeus has said, the conflict in Iraq is not one that can be won solely through the application of U.S. military power. It is, by contrast, one that the Iraqis must settle themselves through political reconciliation and through compromises that they have unfortunately been unwilling to make.

Meanwhile, the President continues to escalate our military presence in Iraq, but he has not addressed the need for political, economic, regional and diplomatic solutions. The President's path increasingly imperils our long-term national security, as it allows the Iraqi leadership to escape accountability for their actions, while allowing other threats around the world, such as in Afghanistan, to go unaddressed as our military battles on in Iraq.

The U.S. Troop Readiness, Veterans' Health, and Iraq Accountability Act (H.R. 1591) fully supports the troops by providing more than $100 billion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, an increase of $4 billion over President's request. It also recognizes that, in order to responsibly end the war, we must change course. Under this legislation, the phased redeployment of our troops would begin no later than October 1, 2007, with a goal of removing all combat forces by April 1, 2008, except for those carrying out security, training and counter-terror operations. Lastly, this bill ensures our troops are combat-ready before being deployed to Iraq, and provides them with all the resources needed on the battlefield and when they return. I was disappointed the President vetoed this bill, but we are working hard to craft a compromise that gives our troops every resource they need, as well as a strategy worthy of their sacrifice.

Please be assured that no one wants to succeed in Iraq and the broader Middle East more than I do, but success will be difficult to achieve under the President's plan. That is why I will continue to fight to change course in Iraq, so we can stabilize that nation and so our troops, including hundreds of Nevadans, can begin to come home.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. For more information about my work for Nevada, my role in the United States Senate Leadership, or to subscribe to regular e-mail updates on the issues that interest you, please visit my Web site at [Link: reid.senate.gov....] I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

I will now quote the Big Stone Head from ZARDOZ.

The gun is good. The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life to poison the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth... and kill!

40 loflyer  Fri, May 11, 2007 7:02:08pm

Many Christians and Christian congregations have been praying for those affected by the fires. The difference is the Christians do not have a propaganda ministry called CAIR to send press releases to the AP that they are praying for the the "victims" of the evil fire.(most likely fueled by W and the neocons.) Christians deliver disaster relief quietly, unlike the Muslims, who seem to dramatize every issue no matter how inconsequential.

What they don't tell you is that they are praying for rain in Islamic lands for Muslims and, btw, "DEATH TO THE INFIDEL!".

Virtually everywhere it has gone in the world, Islam has managed to turn the country into a wasteland.
What better way to wage war on the infidel than as a fifth column pyromaniac within the heart of Dar al-Harb.

Seems like another group during Christ's time who were determined to "storm the gates of heaven" by their good deeds -- the Pharisees. Even down to the warning about how they liked to have the biggest tassels and phylacteries and wanted men to see their "good" deeds. Not a good ending though, "... I tell you the truth, they have already received their reward." i.e, they may get the praise of [some] people, but those works won't garner any praise when it really counts.

Women can wear hijabs: Taekwondo Federation

QUEBEC — The International Taekwondo Federation says women will be allowed to wear hijabs at an upcoming competition in Quebec City.

About 700 competitors from more than 60 countries, including Iran and Syria, will be taking part in the World Taekwondo Championships beginning May 31.

Federation president Tran Trieu Quan says the authorization is a temporary one because an ad hoc committee will take a closer look at the political and social aspects of allowing the wearing of hijabs.

That's just not right. You'd think a martial arts federation would show a little more discipline.

/that said, it should be perfectly legal to grab it for a throw, although that isn't a big part of Taekwondo

If the pepper spray is strong enough to annoy the dog, it's going to annoy the turtle even more. Maybe try putting some vinegar on the turtles back. After a few tastes of that sour stuff, he'll go all pavlov and stay away.

I wonder why they thought it was important to mention that the muslims were praying for rain, when they don't mention any other religion doing the same thing. Since the governor of Georgia asked all citizens to pray for rain, I am sure Jews, Christians, Buddhist, Wiccans and everyone else has sent prayers up. But, to mention these other religions would not be helping the propaganda machine that the RoP has created out of the MSM.

Besides, most of the media deem Christians (in particular) and other people of faith as dolts and fools and not worth the ink to report about.

Let them compete in their hijabs. That's got to blind-side them to a quick roundhouse.

There's no grabbing of 'gear' in ITF rules, from what I remember. But sometimes headgear gets mussed a little bit, leaving the advantage to the aggressor.

It really doesn't matter, though. Most tourneys require head-gear, which is ultimately more visually-limiting than a hijab.

The AP article is discussing fires. It seems positively weird that the AP uses that situation as a hook for a tribute to the Council on American Islamic Relations.

What's next? An AP report on crime, along with a tribute to CAIR which states that Muslims are praying for a reduction in crime? An AP report on disease, along with a tribute to CAIR which states that Muslims are praying for a reduction in disease? An AP report on smog, along with a tribute to CAIR which states that Muslims are praying for a reduction in smog?

Where is the relevance?

this is really of topic, but does anyone know if i can put a diluted pepper spray on the shell of a turtle? my dog keeps grabbing the box turtle out back and running around with it.it's pretty funny but i don't think the turtle cares for it.

Don't know how well capsicum (aka pepper spray) would do, you really don't want to be getting any on the eyes, etc., of the turtle, but you might give sour apple or bitter apple spray a try.  You can usually get it from a pet supply store (like PetSmart or Petco), a feed store, or a vet.  There may be other similar stuff available near where you find it.

You could also introduce your dog to a snapping turtle.  Of course, that may hurt, so maybe just put an Elizabethan collar on the dog?

We're all saved! Yay CAIR!

I honestly don't understand how the world has survived this long without them there to pray to Satan Allah for us.

I was thinking the other day that if things continue on the track they are on, with the muslim invasion and all, it is only a matter of time before either: 1) the world submits, or 2) there is all-out war between the major religions.

On that note, I was also contemplating what the world will be like if the concept of structured battle is a relic of the past. Countries dividing into local clans, warlords instead of governments, etc... I'm probably WAY overreacting, but it scares the holy hell out of me. There has to be a weakening effect to constant and uncontrolable fighting. Then again, that's what they are pushing for -- a home away from home.

146 JustTanya  Fri, May 11, 2007 8:07:16pm

On the Mark Levin show this afternoon, he had on Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. Mr. Jasser made a charge that is appropo to this topic.

As I understood it, they were discussing the recent statements CAIR made about not equating religion and terrorists at Fort Dix, and Mr. Jasser was asked by Mark Levin about media coverage of muslims in general.

Mr. Jasser said that muslims (and I believe he mentioned CAIR) have threatened to SUE media outlets if they publicized unfavorable reports about Islam/muslims/CAIR, et. al.

Anyone know any more about this subject?

The Saudis have a ton of petro dollars to throw around, and if they want to get their message across, it seems to me that they most likely thought of buying into our press agencies (much like Foxnews with the one Saudi Prince). When people say they're praying for something like that, it's a nice gesture. They're telling you they wish you well. So heck, we should accept with friendly gratitude this friendly gesture. Sooner or later it'll rain. It always does. And then the believers will be convinced that their prayers were the cause of the rain.

the dean of student affairs at American International University, Abu Hamza Hijji, responded, writing that Allah the Most Merciful forbids praying for mercy for the non-Muslim dead, or even for the non-Muslim living, and that it is only permitted to pray that they be rightly guided [DS: convert to Islam]. He added that what happened was a sad occurrence, but that does not give Muslims the right to transgress the laws of Allah the Most Merciful.

Hi Mandy!

Very Good!

The next song, song #6, Mohammad Atta is heard talking to the passengers on the plane that he had just highjacked, while the airtraffic controlers are trying to figure out if they heard him correctly.

Then the ATC say they "just lost the target on that aircraft", as Atta slammed it into the WTC.

You knew this, I'm sure, and I listen to that CD, loudly at times, with the top down.

The more that I listen to it, the more I realize that Stuck Mojo is one heck of a band.

Crap...

No more cat sitting.

I learned my lesson, in our car hich had fine Italian leather. I had to take a lrge tom that we had, to the vet, and he was too big for the pet carrier, so I put him in a laundry basket, and took him to the vet.

He did fine until we got almost home, and then he tried to get out of the basket.

He got the seats in two spots, real good.

It was a perfect excuse for a new car.

I grew up in a family of firefighters. Rain isn't always a good thing when fighting a fire. It all depends. In many situations, rain can make it harder to fight a fire because rain is usually accompanied by strong, unpredictable winds that can spread the fire to other areas. For example, when fighting a home fire, winds can spread the fire inside the home and the rain will have little or no effect in dousing it.

Any other firefighters out there with some knowledge about outdoor fires?

If CAIR wants to help out the firefighters they may want to send some Saudi money to help the firefighters keep their fire fighting equipment in good shape instead of trying to sell them Allah.

#190 I too come from a family of Fire Fighters. Here in Socal we've got lots of experience fighting brush fires and the like.

Rain is great when it comes to slowing down the spread of fire. It's not so good on the people fighting the fires or the equpiment, especially if it's a strong rain. All that burnt up vegetation allows mud to come loose really easily as witnessed during all the mudslides that occured here in SoCal after the fires.

It's a mixed blessing. :(

that was so smooth and subtle they way they inserted that bit of agit-prop I didnt even notice it and it immediately washed away the image of muslims wanting to attach fort dix earlier this week. I wonder if mexicans came out to wave american flags and chant "no mas fuego, si se pueda". Not only do you carry the nick of my favorite artist, you totally made me laugh out loud on that one.

Cartman, we're good at poker, otherwise we'd give up the game. Sure, I lost three tonight, to the tune of about 20k, but last weekend, I placed in the dough in five straight tournaments (three 1st place finishes). You know as well as I do the cards turn against you once in a while, but it's not a game of chance.

Killian, these cats are incredibly entertaining, but they're not mine, so I'm not buying a manicure set for them. Nor will I entertain a cat as a pet any time soon (how long does leather furniture last, sans feline pets)?

My friend assured me the cats' claws were clipped before he/she brought them to me. I clearly heard nails on the hardwood floor from day one. That's inconsiderate, and the cat-sitting privileges have been revoked for all.

In fairness, the cushion scratched up by these cats was already scratched slightly by me and one of my guitars. What kind of dumb asshole lays a guitar face-down on a leather loveseat?

I'm surpised that Al Gore hasn't attributed the tornadoes in the Midwest this month to the Carbon Footprint.

The Sierra Club weighs in:

3. Does the rise in the earth’s temperature cause more intense storms /hurricanes/ tornados here in the US? If so, how?
Answer: While it is impossible to blame any single event on global warming, there are several reasons to believe that global warming will create more intense storms. Hurricanes are powered by warm water on the surface of the ocean. As global warming heats the surface of the water, hurricanes will increase in speed, power, and frequency. Tornadoes are caused by rapidly rising amounts of heat from the lower areas of the atmosphere to higher portions of the sky. While scientists are again reluctant to pin individual storms on global warming, global warming does create greater amounts of heat in the lower portions of the atmosphere, creating more tornado-causing energy to be released into the upper atmosphere.

But I would like to point out. A couple of Years ago on a camping trip, We went into the woods to gather firewood. The entire floor of the forest was covered in two feet of deadfall. ( branches and trees that have fallen over the years.). You see Mother Nature used to regularly burn forests clean until Man came along and started putting all the fires out, Not allowing Mother nature to Do Her job. Thank Smokey the Bear. Now Fifty years later the deadfall is so thick in some places. Once it ignites You can`t put it Out.

#240 Kaos Hiker,

Yes, you are correct. In fact, in California, we have an ecosystem called Chapparal, which includes periodic burning as part of its regeneration. The plants of the Chapparal system actually begin to produce gases which cause them to eventually burn.

But, I don't think such ecosystems exist in the humid climates of Florida and Georgia. And, even if they did, I don't remember ever seeing so many fires, even here in California.

SATURDAY NY TIMES CLASSIC: A Father’s Pain and an Empty Pizzeria
By RICHARD G. JONES
Published: May 12, 2007

COOKSTOWN, N.J., May 11 — After the third death threat of the day, Muslim Tatar decided on Thursday to telephone a sign maker. He had an assistant dictate precisely how he wanted the big new banners to read: “Under New Management.”

Not that Mr. Tatar was certain he would be able to sell his beloved and suddenly beleaguered pizzeria here, Super Mario’s. Not that he was even sure he wanted to. But he had to do something about the empty tables, the car honks, the nasty taunts.

“Now, I am target,” Mr. Tatar said, standing in the deserted restaurant on Thursday afternoon. “How do I know some kid won’t come and. ...” Instead of finishing the sentence, he raised the thumb of his right hand and jabbed his forefinger, riddling the air with invisible bullets.

Everything has changed for Mr. Tatar since the authorities arrested his 23-year-old son, Serdar, along with five others they described as radical Islamists, on charges of plotting to attack the Fort Dix military reservation, and said that Super Mario’s was where they obtained a map of the base.
(...)
“Somebody shoot me now,” he said, sitting by the window of his empty restaurant during one particularly bleak period Thursday afternoon. “I don’t care about business. I don’t care about nothing. Come shoot me now.”

Mr. Tatar’s story echoes the oft-repeated immigrant tale. He brought his wife and three young children to Cherry Hill, where Serdar went to the same high school as several of the men accused of being his co-conspirators. He began washing dishes at an Italian restaurant there, and began dreaming at the same time. He watched the chefs prepare pasta and pizza. In 2002, he bought Super Mario’s, about three miles from the entrance to Fort Dix.

[The poor guy! It's really rough on immigrants when their sons plot mass murder! Let's all take up a collection!--B.P.]

Hmmm. I have another Islamic viewer on youtube. She (I think it's a woman, because her homepage is hot pink) left me a message about the usual stuff about how Jesus is not the Son of God, etc.

I always respectfully reply with a polite greeting and Isaiah 9:6 (e.g, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.")

The shocking thing is the media validation of it.

I do understand why Islamists leave me messages (and I've had e-mails - always polite). At the time I made my video, I was quite angry - it's various clips of jets that I scrounged up from the 'net, clips of paratroopers in the invasion of Afghanistan that I got off new sites, and things blowing up. My picture on youtube (it takes whatever is in dead center of the vid you use to link to) is a tank blowing up.

All the actual online messages people have left are guys commenting on the jets - especially the Russian jets (I couldn't resist using them).

Hasidic boy attacked near firebombed Mtl. school
Updated Fri. May. 11 2007 6:55 PM ET
CTV.ca News Staff

The beating of a Quebec Hasidic boy has been caught by surveillance footage just outside the Skver Toldos Jewish School, the same institute firebombed last September.

Jewish groups said the attacker likely targeted the 16-year-old victim because he was Hasidic, but police have said there is no evidence to suggest the incident was a hate crime.

"It's just devastating to have events continually happening to the cultural communities in Quebec, and everybody pretending this is in the normal course of events," Jeffrey Boro, President of Quebec's Canadian Jewish Congress, told CTV Montreal.

Perhaps something a little more solid: This is best laid out in Revelation. The Dragon (satan) was defeated when Christ's work was done. However, he has been let loose for a little while (until judgment day).

The good news is that his defeat is already achieved, the bad news is that he is seeking to devour as many souls as possible to share in his eternal misery.

What can we do? Seriously, I want to counter this, but how?

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

This blog is an excellent start and is how I got started. I'd also check to see if you care to watch Glenn Beck on Headline News (A CNN channel) and O'Reilly on Fox, both can keep you up on issues, Glenn Beck moreso on islamic fundamentalists.

Also, Dhimmiwatch may be another good start. Between all of those, I end up writing and contacting a number of businesses and congresspeople regarding islamic creepage issues and I can't help but think it has done some good.

#301 NoLimit: Neither Islam nor Islamism will be the way of humankind's future.

Christ Jesus promised that the Holy One, like unto the Son of Man, would come at the time we now call 1844 (1260 AH).

May 23, 1844, (when the Gospel was first taken to every nation as a witness Matt 24:14; when the times of the gentiles were fulfilled Luke 21:24; when the 'Abomination of Desolation' ran out its 2,300-years Matt 24:15) saw the Coming of The Bab, The Gate, through Whom would come the Lord of Hosts.

When the Lord of Hosts came in 1853 and taught until 1892 (Micah 7:15) He was here, in human form, subject to the massed hatred and full prejudice of Iran and Iraq, and yet He fulfilled, even though in exile and in chains, the holy prophecies of the Old Testament and the New and the Koran... (and Buddhist, Zoroastrian and Hindu prophecies too, for that matter)

Known by His title The Glory of God (Baha'u'llah) He lived a life of purity, untaught in the schools of men, because (like Jesus) He answered all His "teacher's" questions when they were trying to see where in school He should be placed.

With NO questions that He could not answer correctly, courteously and succinctly, He was never put in school or assigned a tutor.

His sufferings, His teachings and His administrative Order, now have an earthly world center atop Mount Carmel, Haifa, Israel!

The Glory of God shall lead the world of decent, justice-seeking, righteous humans of all colors and origins, no matter how much the Muslims obstruct the Baha'i Faith.

One thought before I go to bed.

The 9/11 vid is something I recall well also - it's haunting and gut wrenching, and it makes us stronger to remember -never ever to forget.

I love youtube, but why are so many of the commenters on video threads complete freaking drooling clueless drones? A well-trained gorilla could make her point better! You pass them on the street every day - not knowing that inside, they couldn't write a simple paragraph if their lives depended on it.

I love that one. A cousin who now lives in FL's daughter who lives in LA has a cat who loves to walk all over the keyboard. She apparently was working for the CIA..the Cat's Internet Association™, as she would actually hit the keys. So my cousin's daughter used to lock it. Sophie the cat was not too happy.

Gibsons with broken headstocks are a no no for me.

Well, it's not like a death sentence. These guys are really good. Instead of just gluing it, they put in a shim(?, Killgore Trout would know the exact term), so it's just as strong as it was originally. And you can't even tell it's ever been repaired.

/it's a '73 Custom that still plays perfectly with an extremely low action, what more do you want?

This is the original, that I have saved. It is still very painful to watch. And damn it ,too many have already 'forgotten', even here in NY..IMHO, they feel that it will happen again, but not here..morons.

As for a lot of the comments? They are writen by cretinous haters who crawled out of the primordial slime, and even though Google/YouTube delete so many videos ,strangly the comments on a lot of them are never deleted, even when they are marked as spam, and are not fit to read.

Sleep well! I am going to make my first attempt to go to sleep. :)

There's a lot of that going around.

My brother John is not the end all of what has been said concerning the close of this age. John spoke and wrote of our time in most of his writing, and many have written and said the same things, but in a different manner.

Not exactly sure where you are going with this. But remember also that John indicates that any who add to the contents of that book, to him will be added the plagues written in that book and any that take away words from the book will have eternal life taken away.

One MUST compare all the writings and words of those who claim knowledge, and compare all of it against those whose writings or words we trust by that rule where we bear witness by the Spirit.

As I said above, I'm not sure where you are going with this. If you mean that one uses one part of scripture to interpret less clear parts, we are in agreement.

#342 S&D: Sir, you have voice a profound thought, indeed, that we must seek after Truth, wholeheartedly, unflinchingly, courageously and unremittingly, all our lives...

That which was 'true' when we were young was 'true', but may no longer be true...

When the righteousness that is Christ gives humankind the truth, it is up to US, individual humans, to accept the truth in what He brings...

IF we want the Truth!

Some folks really do hear from God nowadays. It is up to us to decide, basing our decision upon comparison to scripture, what is true and what is not. A long perusal of some of song_'s more theological/eschatological posts (few and far between, as far as I'm concerned, but for the sake of LGF, abundant enough) can be quite eye-opening. Or maybe I'm wrong. We'll see someday, and someday soon, I think. There's a fine line, I believe, between prescience and prophesy, the truth only absolutely known to God and the speaker. And neither can be proven except in hindsight.

These are the times when we must remain aware, more than ever, and song__ ain't far off dead center as far as I can tell. Prescience + Knowlege or Prophesy?

We shall see. Either/or, S&DM cool. :)

Turned on the weather man just after the news
I needed sweet rain to wash away my blues
He looked at the chart but he look in vain
Heavy cloud but no rain

Back in time with Louis XVI
At the court of the people he was number one
He'd be the bluest blood they'd ever seen
When the king said hi to the guillotine
The royal astrologer was run out of breath
He thought that maybe the rain would postpone his death
He look in sky but he look in vain
Heavy cloud but no rain

Well the land was cracking and the river was dry
All the crops were dying when they ought to be high
So to save his farm from the banker's draft
The farmer took out a book on some old witchcraft
He made a spell and a potion on a midsummer's night
He killed a brindled calf in the pale moonlight
He prayed to the sky but he prayed in vain
Heavy cloud but no rain

Heavy cloud but no rain
The sun won't shine till the clouds are gone
The clouds won't go till their work is done
And every morning you'll hear me pray
If only it would rain today

I asked my baby if there'd be some way
She said she'd save her love for a rainy day
I look in the sky but I look in vain
Heavy cloud but no rain

Thanks. I watch/read everything you mentioned, that's why I'm fed up! My friends who get their news from the MSM haven't a clue.

However, my question still stands - how do we counter this?

After reading the original article, I'm curious as to why this paragraph was edited out:

"Alongside the Floridian Muslims, the tin foil hatted worshippers of Klaatuu the Space Monster were furiously pedaling their bicycle driven generators in order to send an ethereal message begging for salvation from the fires sent by the evil Bush administration."

360 swamprat  Sat, May 12, 2007 6:53:58am

359 easy....The Seminoles have a secret plan to deprive all the longknives of their money while giving them cancer. They have "mosques" all over the state.

361 jwbaumann  Sat, May 12, 2007 6:59:30am

Muslims are our friends. See, they're praying for rain. isn't that nice of them?

Clearly, America has produced a better sort of Muslim, a kinder, gentler Islam, if you will.

Friday a day of rest? Isn't that when all the rioting, seething, and general unrest occur?

If Stan could produce rain, wouldn't he start by cooling off hell?

362 defund_NPR  Sat, May 12, 2007 7:29:47am
Bill Paxton, a spokesman for the firefighting effort, said the fire was “challenging” the containment lines. “They’re holding right now,” he said. “We’re having some difficulty holding them, but they’re holding now.”

That dude like rocked in Twister. I wondered what he was doing these days. Cool.

"...Meanwhile, the USA continues to be Islamized by stealth, as most Americans are either too busy earning a living or are too entranced with materialism to notice that their country and culture, indeed all of what passes today for Western Civilization, are being transformed into a Dhimmified bastion of MultiCulti Globalism."

365 Tweety  Sat, May 12, 2007 8:30:00am

"Meanwhile, the Council on American-Islamic Relations says Florida Muslims are offering special prayers for rains at mosques on their religion’s day of rest."

Does this mean they only want it to rain at the mosques and nowhere else? And then only on their "day of rest"?

That would be typical of Islam.

366 pestolover  Sat, May 12, 2007 8:38:32am

Kinda reminds me of those voluteer firefighters in CA a few years ago who were looking for full time employment and started fires so they could put them out. Maybe these fricking jihadis started these ones so they could publicly claim they're praying to put them out. That may seem a bizarre supposition, but not so bizarre as the insertion of this absolutely extraneous information of Muslims muslims and more muslims into this story, which begs my imagination to consider the possibility. In any case, the author of the article is trying to start a second fire, a fire of fear by association, even if he wasn't the Jihadi that I now imagine lit the first one, or would have lit it if he'd thought of it and hadn't been too busy planning other mayhem elsewhere. For destructive Jihadi Muslims, firestarting is surely right out of their manual. Why not get extra mileage out of it by displaying their in-your-face piety (God's name be praised) by writing (or getting some shill to write) a story about your prayers to stop the mysterious fire. If the prayers don't work, it must be confirmation of Allah's will that America burn.

367 daughter of patriots  Sat, May 12, 2007 8:40:25am

In 18th century New England, when natural disasters such as droughts hit a community, the local ministers called the people to days of prayer, fasting & repentance, with excellent results.

"Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing.- Joel 2:12-14

Now if Allah is in league with Stan, he can only do so much...rain. That's the Lord's domain.

Let's see - in 1985, Pat Robertson urged his followers to pray that Hurricane Gloria would not hit the east coast - and that proves that he is an irrational idiot unrooted in the ways of science...

CAIR announces that the followers of the religion of peace will pray for rain, and that is news (How does CAIR know this fact about future events happening in the mosques, by the way?)

This smells more like preemptive damage control - thinking that bigoted, xenophobic Americans might suspect that some of the fires are arson set by muslims. Fortunately, the Religion of Peace(tm) does not have a history of using arson to achieve its peacful goals. Methinks they do protest too much.
