UPDATE at 5/16/07 2:25:57 pm:

It’s a group calling itself “Hizbullah in Pakistan.” I know this because they were holding signs that read, “We Are Hizbullah in Pakistan.”

Don't you get it? It's a "toy" banner, to match the "toy" guns that many young boys were no doubt playing with in the same area

I pity this girl, being raised by the Cult in Pakistan. Her future will be grim, hard, unloving, brutal, violent, and intellectually dead.

Just think- had she been born an Israeli girl she might have had a good life.

On a positive note:

The Grand Mufti of Egypt in the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion - a “fictitious book” that “has no truth to it”

The Mufti also denies having written the forward to a 2003 edition of the Protocols which was attributed to him, has demanded that the forward be removed from any remaining stocks of the book, and has done all this in a very public way.

Sderot residents call for action in Gaza
Poll reveals 71 percent of Sderot residents want military action in Gaza Strip, even if it means increased Qassam attacks; 94 percent blame government for poor security situation

Ninety-three percent of Sderot residents feel the security situation in the city is bad or very bad, while 94 percent blame the government for the continued Qassam attacks, a poll revealed on Sunday.

This is the first time such a comprehensive survey was held among Sderot residents, and its timing is no coincidence as Sunday's cabinet meeting is set to focus on potential reactions to the Qassam threat.

Yes.

38 iminj  Wed, May 16, 2007 2:21:46pm

Judging by the pictures and the storyline, this was a rather tame protest.

There were no reports of any firebombings of Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants ... a time-honored tradition in Pakistan when they REALLY mean business.

Unless they make the extra effort to liberate capons from zionist oppression, I think we can safely assume this was just a mild protest.

Maybe they beleive they have nothing else to live for, so why not just commit cultural suicide and invite us to completely annihilate them? How much more provoking does it take?

I feel like going out with a sign saying:

INDIA,

India would be perfectly justified in doing that. Pakistan was based off of Indian territories, involving dispossession of millions of indigenous Hindus.

A Pakistani Shiite Muslim girl stands before a banner at anti-Israeli rally in Karachi, Pakistan on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. (AP Photo/Shakil Adil)

The name of the Country is Israel (no "i" after it) Thus when you have a sign that says "Crush Israel", it isn't "Anti-Israeli" as the tagline says but instead is Anti-ISRAEL.

To be "anti-Israeli" means that you are against the way Israel does things, or the people of Israel. Someone that wishes to "crush Israel" is most likely NOT discussing having a negotiation about the way Israel wants to do things, but instead is a call to destroy the entire state. Thus their attitude is "Anti-Israel".

I often wonder if the writers for the MSM are just plain ignorant, confused, or if this is a way to deligamize the State and put it on equal footing with the Non-State they are fighting with.

In other words, since there really isn't a "Palestine" the writers cannot say that it is a conflict between Israel and Palestine. However, since they would hate to have to admit that Israel exists and "Palestine" doesn't, they couch the conflict in terms that "equalize" the State and Non-State by using terms such as "Israelis v 'Palestinians". It would be more factually acurate to state the conflict as the "Palestinians" v Israel.

I guess I shouldn't be complaining though...didn't one of the Republican candidates for POTUS yesterday say that there was a State called "Palestine" that was fighting against Israel?! (f---n idiot)

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling the muslims do not like Israeli's or Jews or Americans--worldwide.

Now, I frankly don't give a shit how they feel. And, since they continue to act the way they do--I am not, repeat not, going to introduce them to a bar of soap nor toilet paper! And that includes the slims taking up space here.

You know, if I didn't know better, perhaps its time tp point out to our leaders, i.e., Ms. Pelosi, Harry Reid,Patrick Leahy that those rat bastards really, really don't like Americans, Jews and people who smell clean.

If the governments of the mid-east, and the other Arab theocracy's, will not show respect (and this includes their citizens) for our country has done for them, then we really need to get tough--we will surrond these coutries with loudspeakers and broadcast non-stop, 24/7--Al Gore's speeches (the dj's choice) one recording of Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie, Weenie, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini--if this doesn't bring around--then we take over Al Jazeera's TV stations and broadcast blinky at the podium 24/7.

Folks, I go back a long way, and the muslims haven't changed since--they are still barbaric, hateful, ruthless and inveterate liars. What exactly have they produced since 1948? Oil, bullfeathers. If the American companies hadn't gone over there they would still be using camel dung for lighting their hovels.

It's way past the time that we tell all to do the anatomically very, very difficult. Talking has accomplished a damn thing. Just ask Neville!

68 selpaw  Wed, May 16, 2007 2:48:11pm

The RoP who have been brainwashed with an insidiously evil desire to crush Israel comes as no surprise. No amount of white paint and 24/7 fairytale like sanitizing by those who should know better can prove otherwise. The RoP is not a religion of peace. Pandering to our mortal enemies in an effort to prop up the premise Islam is peace will kill us all.

However, what I did not expect which should be on the lips of the great majority of our friends which is not I spoke to on the Falwell thread yesterday. That is what is crushing Israel. By ignoring the issue as though it is not there has been the real litmus test.

From the US ignoring Jerusalem Reunification Day to the president I voted for and trusted who spoke before the UN in front of our mortal enemies on the subject of the daily humiliation of the Palestinian people, to axing the Jerusalem Act 6 times (to the glee of the Saudi government) to Condi Rice likening the Palestinian cause to the American Revolution one little match at a time has helped to already crush Israel. This has come about by trusted friends to whom I placed by faith.
---> this coupled with virulent anti-Semitism found round the world to boycotts and divestitures and bias and pressures from everywhere possible... to the most stupid of leaders within Israel, this is what is crushing Israel.

69 Hot Rod Kid  Wed, May 16, 2007 2:48:35pm

Regarding news item by #59 Judith

Such deployment by the Hamas special forces could signal the beginning of bloodier altercations, particularly in Gaza City, but the group justified its decision by saying it was acting to "change the balance (of power) in the field."

"Change the balance of power" with violence is so much quicker than the democratic process.

One of the Ron Paul supporters in an earlier thread had the nads to say that Islam must be "eradicated" in order for us to win the WOT. (Of course, he said we shouldn't try to eradicate it militarily.)

Well, Islam is definitely the problem, there's no doubt about that. The military approach doesn't seem to be working because we're fighting with kid gloves on.

One way to look at it is the Koran itself being a major part of the problem. We see proof every single day of the sheer folly of teaching people, especially children, to HATE without reason. The blame for this belongs to Mohammad himself but he's dead.

And so, until the Koran is outlawed as hate speech, we'll continue to see what we're seeing. It's sad, all humans have special talents, but Muslims like the girl in this picture will likely never realize their true potential. They're too busy hating.

Dhimmi governments are a worldwide problem today. Israel has Olmert for PM and Peretz for defense minister, who both can't spare the time to lift a finger after the barrage of Kassams on Sderot. Serbia has chosen to go a similar route. Thailand's government is as willing to pitch in to help its Buddhist citizens in the south as Israel's is for Sderot. The USA and its presidential candidates offer us a great choice between dhimmi and dhimmer. Britain's conservatives are more dhimmified than the Labor members. And so on, on with this nauseating array of people in power who don't have a clue, who think the world is still in 1972 or something.

An official in the Palestinian government sympathetic to Hamas said unknown gunmen had fired on guards protecting the residence of Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh late on Wednesday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was unclear if there had been any injuries in the shooting, which came nearly four hours after Haniyeh's Hamas militant group and forces loyal to the secular Fatah faction declared their latest ceasefire. (Reuters)

I guess the screen is too small for all the crap Hamas and Co did prior to airstrike.

9 mortars in Iraq is actually a larger # than 40+ rockets in Israel.

Maybe they beleive they have nothing else to live for, so why not just commit cultural suicide and invite us to completely annihilate them?

It's in the Koran. Mohammad set it up that way on purpose. He told the Arabs that there was a "House of Islam" and a "House of War." If you're not in one, you're in the other.

It's pathetic that people believed it then...but pathetic doesn't even begin to describe people believing and acting on such a stupid idea in this modern day and age.

US war critic's son killed by suicide bomber in Iraq

Published: 05.16.07, 23:48 / Israel News

Boston University professor Andrew Bacevich's opposition to the war in Iraq was clear in the numerous interviews and op-ed columns that placed the Vietnam and Gulf war veteran among the most relentless critics of a war he has called a ''catastrophic failure.''

Bacevich learned this week that his 27-year-old son, Andy Bacevich Jr., had been killed by a suicide bomber in the Iraqi town of Balad. The younger Bacevich joined the army in 2005. In his only public comment since his son's death, Bacevich told the Boston Herald, ''He joined the Army to serve his country in a time of need. We love him and mourn his loss.'' (AP)

North Korea tests long-range missile

By Richard Spencer in Beijing
Last Updated: 1:34pm BST 16/05/2007

North Korea has used a launch-pad in Iran to test-fire a new long-range missile capable of hitting American bases in the Pacific, according to reports from Japan and South Korea.

North Korea tests long-range missile
The missile was shown to the public in a military parade

The missile, known as a Musudan-type, was shown to the public at a vast military parade in the North Korean capital Pyongyang, according to the reports.

South Korean and American intelligence reports suggest it was then tested not from North Korean soil but from Iran, with which North Korea is known to have close military co-operation...

A prominent Jerusalem-based evangelical organization slammed on Tuesday the decision of much of the international community to boycott celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, calling the move a "perverse and immoral act."

"The Jewish restoration to Jerusalem in modern times is one of the clearest cases of historic justice ever, whereby a people longing to return to a land and a holy city from which they were violently uprooted millennia ago finally realized that sustaining dream. Yet due to Arab pressures and threats, the Jewish return to Jerusalem has been perversely turned into an immoral act," Rev. Malcolm Hedding, Executive Director of the International Christian Embassy, wrote to Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski.

The unabashedly pro-Israel Jerusalem-based evangelical ICE was established in the city in 1980 at a time when foreign embassies were leaving the city to relocate in Tel Aviv.

The letter came just one day after US Ambassador to Israel Richard Jones, as well as EU representatives, boycotted the official Knesset ceremony marking Jerusalem Day.

Hizbulla is active in Indian continents from early 1990's..anyways i do knew this, but to Assert my point, here is the info..

[Link: www.tribuneindia.com...]

anyways , the data about historical development is here..

Indeed, Jam'at-i-Islami (Pakistan), Hizb-i-Islami and Jamiat-i-Islami (Afghanistan) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (Kashmir) had all bccome members of the Turabi-led Popular International Organization (PIO), and, in this capacity, provided assistance to, and closely cooperated with, Islamists from Egypt, the Hizbullah in Lebanon, FIS in Algeria, and NIF in Sudan. PIO members exchanged experts and cooperated in joint support and training activities.

In the early-summer of 1992, some 200 highly-trained and well armed Afghan Mujahideen infiltrated into Indian Kashmir in order to assist in what was by now a full blown armed struggle. They are directly responsible for the increase in violence in Kashmir, in itself a part of a concentrated effort sponsored and backed by the ISI.

and here is Muttahida Jehad Council .. i think name is self understood... the Party of Holy warriors..

anyways most deadly of kashmir "Freedom fighters" groups from Muttahida Jehad council is Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Global Media is advertising, that Lashkar-e-Toiba is Kashmir Freedom fighters group...LeT on claims never matter anyway, which is..

The Lashkar-e-Toiba group has repeatedly claimed through its journals and websites that its main aim is to destroy the Indian republic and to annihilate Hinduism and Judaism. LeT has declared Hindus and Jews to be the "enemies of Islam", as well as India and Israel to be the "enemies of Pakistan".

Perhaps this PDF will also be something you of interesting information... family relation between different terror groups. Just jump to page no 24, Table S.1..

Blessings to you on Yom Yerushalem.

In further signe of paleo-prop dissaray found this article in the Frontier post in Pakistan:

In Rotterdam, Holland’s third largest city, thousands of Palestinians gathered on May 5 for the annual Palestinians in Europe conference. I too opted to participate only to witness a PR disaster, which could have not possibly taken place at a more critical time. This article is another attempt at self-critique and reflection, and is hardly intended as chastisement for its own sake. I believe that time is simply too precious to indulge in self-deception. Despite the clear factional attitude that pervaded the conference — championed mostly by Islamists with Palestinian “secularists” invited as a gesture of kindness, an attitude that still saturates Palestinian activism everywhere — the organizers were well-intended: They wished to emphasize the centrality of the Palestinian refugees’ problem and their right of return, and to focus the international community’s attention to the ongoing humanitarian and political crises fueled by the US-led sanctions imposed on Palestinians in the Occupied Territories for electing Hamas to power in January 2006. Indeed, the organizers did their best to attract media attention by inviting Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to speak. Scores of Dutch journalists descended on the conference hall in Rotterdam, where an estimated 3,000, mostly Palestinians living in Europe, attended. The Dutch government’s unmerited denial of entry to Haniyeh, coupled with the dramatic episode in which Sports Minister Basem Naim was not allowed to disembark at Brussels’ international airport on his way to Rotterdam — his visa which he had earlier obtained from the Dutch Embassy in Tel Aviv was revoked, apparently under Israeli and American pressure — were all noted by Dutch, Arab and international media. Every word uttered, every banner raised and every leaflet handed out were painfully analyzed, often leading to some outrageous conclusions. Take Haaretz and AP’s report on May 6, as an example: “Organizers said the protest was against the occupation of the West Bank, but the posters advertising the event advocated what could be construed as a call for the destruction of Israel, such as ‘Palestine free from the river to the sea,’ and ‘Stop the 60-year-long catastrophe.’” Another headline grabber was the presence and the poignant statements made by former Dutch Prime Minister Dries Van Agt, who audaciously acknowledged Holland’s “biased” pro-Israeli stances, demanding an end to the boycott in which EU members are part and parcel. “We automatically pardon the occupier and sanction the occupied nation,” he told reporters at a press conference which I also attended. This and other strong statements made by Van Agt coincided with a visit by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Occupied Territories in which he criticized the embargo; they were both excellent indicators of positive change in Europe, though slow and slight, but still welcome. But media and PR achievements are not made by good intentions alone, and a particularly encouraging statement by an official or two, but are the outcome of incessant, decided and preset strategy that engage in the subject of shaping public opinion with utter care and obsession with the details. This was hardly the case in Rotterdam. The conference had no central message, but several messages which were hardly related. While the conference purported to address the issue of the Right of Return for Palestinian refugees, the key and recurring topic of all the speeches was the sanctions. Thus literatures and leaflets, which were sparse, spoke of one issue, while the speakers of another.

165 Thanos  Wed, May 16, 2007 6:05:24pm

Rest of article:

When I requested a media package in English, I discovered there was none: Only Arabic and Dutch were available, I was told. Why hold an international conference if the organizers are not prepared to appeal to an international audience and speak to international media using an international language? I was dumbfounded, if not furious. The speakers were mostly Palestinians from the Occupied Territories, speaking Arabic. As eloquent as they where in their own language, their fiery words were translated into Dutch only. Neither English nor French were apparently needed. The conference of Palestinians in Europe lacked the contributions of some of the most brilliant and eloquent Palestinian scholars and activists in Europe, and was overshadowed by angry speeches of angry sounding, Arabic-speaking men — female participation was almost non-existent. All of this helped the usual stereotyping of Arab culture as being male-dominated, inherently angry and innately irrational. Of course, the conference was not a conference at all: No papers were submitted nor expected to be published, hardly any written material that was meaningful was present, and there was no serious or purposeful discussion. Even the workshops, that were announced but whose time, place nor topic were made available, were cancelled without any announcement. Potential participants roamed the conference for hours seeking information but received none. None of the organizers seemed to know much about anything. The disorganization and mismanagement were total. Although the publicity that was generated by Haniyeh’s denied visit and Van Agt’s attendance was the perfect opportunity to present the media with a solid case for Palestinian rights and the need for an immediate lifting of the sanctions, the media attention that was giddily welcomed was hardly exploited. There were almost no media experts whatsoever, as if the object was the mere presence of journalists, regardless of what they would write and how their articles and news reports would damage the image of Palestine and the Palestinians. The date chosen for the conference was deliberately chosen to coincide with the country’s Independence Day, when the Netherlands was liberated from the grip of the Nazis, a bad choice by any standards considering the hardly subtle insinuation that the Nazi occupation was reminiscent of Israel’s occupation. Though one can indeed mitigate the similarities, the extremely sensitive parallel, if it must be invoked at all, should have been handled by those who possess the eloquence and the smarts to do so. The media was simply furious, giving the pro-Israel elements within a heyday. Toward midday, a group of teenagers were instructed to gather in a central point in the conference hall and wave Palestinian flags; the euphoria eventually led them to start running around the building, jeering and laughing, and behind them Dutch camerapersons. The PR disaster was now perfect as was my discontent. I hurried out of the building seeking comfort in a large cup of strong coffee, never to return.

#142 mama winger

the US govt is just conceding, correctly, that the state of Israel is de facto dissolved as long as Olmert & friends are around

Such an incredibly haughty answer you gave to mama winger. I must say it rubbed me the wrong way.

As we are about to go shmooze with Iran and made huge mistakes ourselves in a just war in Iraq (whose government (Iraq) lacks the will to scratch their own balls) you have little room to talk.

But lets get back on track...

The 40 year anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem is a fete of wonder no matter who is sitting at the helm of Israel. Jersalem is Israel. Israel is Jerusalem. Furthermore, those who deny Jerusalem, deny Israel.

The US made a huge mistake this Yom Yerushalayim. No amount of excuses you can make or our government can set it right. This governemnt did not send a representative simply to appease the Palestinians & all who appease them. PERIOD.

You don't spit on friends or even supposed friends or supposed allies. Even canaries in coal mines get more respect.

Perhaps you might read the tribute Evelyn Gordon wrote a week ago in the JP
to understand no matter what has happened Israel chooses life, now and always.

If I was that ugly, I'd want to blow a country off the map too.
Or maybe she's that ugly because of hate rotting her from the inside out?
One of those "chicken or the egg" things.

There was an anti-Pakistan rally in Afghanistan. What is like for Pakistan to be hated by someone other than India?
Anyway, they are all backward and will eventually succumb to polio, if not earthquakes or bullets. That might sound like a callous thing to say but for a country that permits rape and burns places of business, screw them.

In answer to the question about the strange fascination that Muslims have with tiny Israel, a country most of them couldn't find on the map because they are uneducated: it's the well known psychologic phenomenon called DISPLACEMENT.

Mohammed built into his narcissistic religion a safety valve, a permanent distraction, a scapegoat for all that goes wrong in his worshippers' lives as they follow his bad advice in the Koran. Jews are the grand distraction from a failed religion and culture with no accomplishments for centuries. It's like a giant global video game for Muslims...when things go wrong, whack a Jew and you'll feel better.

There should be a thought bubble going to the sign-carrier's deprived-of-schooling brain saying:

"My husband beats me.
His other wives hate me.
I'm just a Pez dispenser for kids.
If I go back to my parents, they'll arrange an honor killing to erase the shame I've brought on them by leaving my abusive husband.
I'm a second class citizen.
We're poor as dirt.
I have nothing to enjoy or look forward to, nothing.
And to take my mind off my miserable life and hang with the "popular kids"...

Crush Israel!...wherever that is."
