Palestinian Missile Fauxtography? No.

Wed, May 30, 2007 at 9:19:30 am PDT

Since I’ve been getting dozens of emails about Rusty’s post at mypetjawa, I’m going to repeat what I said last weekend when the subject came up at LGF: in my opinion, there is absolutely no evidence that the photograph Rusty is discussing here is a case of fauxtography. I like mypetjawa a lot, and they do great work, but in this case they’re chasing rabbits.

The photo is not a fake.

UPDATE at 5/30/07 9:47:40 am:

I do agree, however, that the photos of the aftermath of the explosion look very staged; especially the man running with an apparently uninjured boy, putting on a huge show for the photographers.

But that’s a different issue.

UPDATE at 5/30/07 2:14:36 pm:

Brian at Snapped Shot has a closer look at the latest Palestinian “Screaming Carry Run:” Shades of Qana.

And he agrees that the “missile” (it’s actually a bomb) photo is not a fake: Wherefore art thou, Missiles?
