I went to my duaghter's 4th grade program yesterday titled "Peace On Earth."

There was some kind of giant yellow-and-white sloth looking thing singing, and when I unmuted I got hit with a long-haired, girly-voiced hippie creature singing some BS about how "love was the only way to be" or some such pap... Sunshine, rainbows, and tranquilizers, oh boy! Down with manhood! The Teletubbies were Fine Art compared to this crap. F-ckin' hippies. Way to prepare our kids for the challenges of the 21st century. "History is over! We're perfect! Don't think, just feel!"

I don't know what the show is but I've seen it several times in passing. I haven't seen any character to balance this pussified sloth thing.

I already know I'm going to be an absolute Nazi about what my kids watch, read, listen to, and learn, for as long as I can. After a certain point they'll be free to choose, but you can bet their inputs during early childhood will be closely watched.

UNITED NATIONS — The U.N. Human Rights commissioner, Louise Arbour, supports "public debate" on a drive by an increasing number of British organizations that have singled Israel out for boycott because of alleged wrongdoings by the Jewish state.

The largest British labor union, the 1.6 million-member UNISON, has threatened to launch a drive to boycott Israel, according to press reports yesterday, which were based on sources within the Israeli workers' union, Histadrut.

On Tuesday, the British Union of Colleges and Universities voted to promote a boycott of Israeli academics. Last month, the Union of Journalists called for a boycott of Israeli goods.

None of the unions has called for similar boycotts against Sudan, Burma, Russia, China, or other human-rights violators.

People in "academic communities" should "examine the situation of the world and participate in airing their views" in a public forum, Ms. Arbour told The New York Sun yesterday, when asked about the ban on cooperation with Israeli academics. "Public debate, particularly coming from informed communities, is, from a human rights perspective, a good thing."

This reminds me: I've seen a few posters up in the DC Metro system (placed by a pro-Israel group) which show a little Pali kid dressed up in camo and bandoliers with toy guns/grenades, captioned "He already knows what he wants to be when he grows up".

At the McPherson Square station just north of the White House, one exit features a couple of these pro-Israel posters with variations on the theme of Pali child abuse. Meanwhile, the exit at the other end of the station has a large poster of an adorable Palestinian child wearing a Hello-Kitty-esque backpack and walking past a scary IDF tank, with the caption "The World Says No to Israeli Occupation." (I'm pretty sure that A.N.S.W.E.R. is a co-sponsor of this one.)

Anyway, at this particular station, I don't think either set of posters has been defaced by graffiti, surprisingly.

We attended my son's "Pre-K graduation" ceremony last night. Lots of cute little kids dressed in white cap and gown, who got up on stage and sang songs about colors, numbers, the alphabet and how much they love their parents. All of them got a chance to tell their gathered loved ones what they wanted to be when they grew up. Lots of football players and race car drivers and singers - not an single martyr among them. I wonder what chance my sweet boy and his sister have against monsters like this? I teach my son to be a gentleman and a scholar. They teach theirs to be murderers of themselves and others.
