Timeout London Welcomes Islamic Overlords

Thu, Jun 7, 2007 at 9:19:24 am PDT

The Islamic takeover of Britain can’t come soon enough for Timeout London, in an article by Michael Hodges that you have to read to believe: Is London’s future Islamic?

Hodges lists the many ways in which an Islamic London would be a vast improvement—ecology, education, public health, arts, social justice, you name it—and concludes with this jawdropper:

Race relations
Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim – it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story.

Is there a reason that he failed to mention gender oppression along with the bogus claim of ethinc equality?

10 Know Your Enemy  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 9:25:07am

Yeah, all muslims are equal--just like in the Sudan.

(it was Kenny Brocklestein (AKA Kent Brockman) who welcomed "our new insect overlords")

11 zombie  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 9:25:11am

This welcoming of the Islamic takeover meshes very nicely with the observations I made about Chris Hedges in my Hitchens-Hedges report. I said that the Left is now starting to overtly embrace Islam, and no longer hewing to its blanket anti-religion stance.

Say goodbye to your principles, boys! And say goodbye to feminism and equality, girls!

Once you have submitted

All ethnicities are equal, as long as they are all Muslim.

Is my sundial broken? Is it 1984?

2+2=5. Not because I want you to say that, but because you believe it.

Orwell's either spinning or laughing in his grave. Maybe both.

Or how Persians view Arabs. Mislabeling a Persian as an Arab is one of the highest insults imaginable, outside of "dog testicle" (torghe meh saag) and "dirt to your father's head."

21 Killgore Trout  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 9:29:20am
Social justice
Each Muslim is obliged to pay zakat, a welfare tax of 2.5 per cent of annual income, that is distributed to the poor and the needy. If the working population of London, 5.2 million, was predominantly Muslim this would produce approximately £3.2bn each year. More importantly, everyone would be obliged to consider those Londoners who haven’t shared their good fortune. London would become a little less cruel.

Much like Saudi Arabia.

22 Da Coyote  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 9:29:23am

The only part this clown got right was, "...end of story."

Pretty much endo of story alright. You are now simply fodder to be fed into the Islamic war machine. Whether you die at the hands of another Mualim for not being Muslim enough or you strapped explosives to your chest and walk into a pizza parlor and disinegrate it is the same. End of story.

Unless, of course, you are a black Sudanese Muslim from Darfur, in which case you are slaughtered and your wife & children enslaved. But you're still a Muslim. End of story.

Or if you're the wrong sort of Muslim, like say a Shia in Iraq, then your mosque gets bombed by the Sunnis. But you're still a Muslim. End of story.

Or if you try to stop being a Muslim, in which case you are imprisoned tortured & murdered. But you're still a Muslim. End of story.

halifa also applies to recycling: in 2006, 12,000 Muslims attended a series of sermons at the East London Mosque explaining the theological evidence for a link between behaving in an environmentally sustainable way and the Islamic faith.

You have to admit, it would all be worth it - the 7th century theocracy, the violent intolerance, the beheadings, the subjugation of women, etc. - if we could all get a little more recycling out of the deal.

OK, folks, this has got to be a parody. Because one would have to be clinically insane to write this paragraph, which appears in the article:

Public health

On the surface, Islamic health doesn’t look good: the 2001 census showed that 24 per cent of Muslim women and 21 per cent of Muslim men suffered long-term illness and disability. But these are factors of social conditions rather than religion. In fact, Islam offers Londoners potential health benefits: the Muslim act of prayer is designed to keep worshippers fit, their joints supple and, at five times a day, their stomachs trim. The regular washing of the feet and hands required before prayers promotes public hygiene and would reduce the transmission of superbugs in London’s hospitals.

This guy is most likely the dumbest of all liberals this side of Fat Rosie. The "arts" do not, and have never existed in Islam. Education is for men only; and "social justice" is also for men only.

If this is true, then Darfur is a figment of the world's imagination. Black Africans were never enslaved to be sold off to the British, Dutch, and Portuguese slave traders. There is no divide between Sunni and Shia who actually love each other.

There is a sayin' in the South, "He needed killing", this now seems to be the only way we will be able to save ourselves from the traitors amongst us; we will need to rise up and take care of these folks ourselves before we will be able to save ourselves.

On D-Day + 63 years and a day, freedom is still worth fighting and dying for, regardless of what these cowards and traitors think.

See the ENRP / EuroMed policy rolled out Jan 1, 2007, for 7 years, with a midterm review at 3.5 on 2010.

The 7 year "peace treaty", is signed by Israel and the Arab/Muslim world, in a very public, obvious signing.

This is possibly the most ill-informed and poorly researched article I have seen in a long time. If the right wing policies advocated in this article were adopted...

Mike Richards said...

What in the world prompted TO to give Michael Hodges a forum to spew such thinly veiled hatred and venom against one of our communities? Neo-conn shock-bloggers spread fear and disgust through lies and half-truths... this is what they do, they don't know any better.

Yup, that's right, folks: These morons think it's the right and the neo-cons (code name for "Jews" and those who support Israel) who are pushing for an Islamic London. Seriously, how can anyone be so amazingly disconnected from reality?

Also, Mohammed Youssef and a couple others conflate criticism of Islam with racism.

There's a one little detail the author of the article left out:

The US gave to Britain nuclear technology in the '50s. Britain now has a substantial nuclear arsenal, as well as ICBMs.

If Muslims take over Brtitain, they could literally hold the entire world hostage with nuclear blackmail.

Consequently, the US would have to either invade England to destroy their entire arsenal, or bomb the place to smithereens.

Yes, according to the Left, not eating is good. Look at the way they go on and on against fast food outlets, such as McDonald's, and rail against obesity and fat in society. They'd love nothing better than to regulate our food intake. They're obsessed with diet, as witness the current plethora of new age/organic food fads.

They also love paying taxes, ecoology, humility before one's betters and all religions that aren't Judeo/Christian. Islam is tailor made for them. They are now on the side of the coming Caliphate.

The 7 year "peace treaty", is signed by Israel and the Arab/Muslim world, in a very public, obvious signing.

It hasn't happened just yet.

All I've seen on that is this:

Dan 9:27
He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven. In the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.

Is there more?

In the 90's the Oslo Accord was signed. The ENRP offers financial incentives to the EuroMed nations to adhere to that treaty. Thus confirming a covenant of many with Israel. And it just so happens to be a 7 year funding instrument. It also happens to be implemented through Javier Solana, who is the Foreign Policy Chief to the EU as established by UN Reccomendation 666. Not kidding, look it up.

Oh, sorry, that is a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) Tornado Watch

URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 358
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
1135 AM CDT THU JUN 7 2007

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

MUCH OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN IOWA
SMALL PART OF NORTHWEST ILLINOIS
PART OF WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN
PARTS OF SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA
MUCH OF WESTERN AND NORTHERN WISCONSIN
LAKE SUPERIOR

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1135 AM UNTIL 1000 PM CDT.

...THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION...

DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER... THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF KENNEDY WISCONSIN TO 45 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF OTTUMWA IOWA. FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE ASSOCIATED WATCH OUTLINE UPDATE (WOUS64 KWNS WOU8).

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...CONTINUE...WW 357...

DISCUSSION...VERY STRONG SHEAR PROFILES IN PLACE ACROSS WATCH WITH APPROACH OF VIGOROUS UPPER TROUGH AND DEEP SURFACE LOW. AIR MASS HAS BECOME STRONGLY UNSTABLE AND WEAKLY CAPPED. SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP RAPIDLY ALONG W EDGE OF WATCH WHERE MOISTURE/INSTABILITY GRADIENT LOCATED. POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR STRONG/LONG LIVED TORNADOES TO DEVELOP BY MID AFTERNOON ALONG WITH VERY DAMAGING WINDS.

If you look closely, there is actually two front like features, one more of a dry line feature from near Kansas City to the Wisconsin/Minnesota state line, which is clearly visible, and the more difficult to see cold front, visible only in Western Minnesota. While the best tornado potential will be with the airmass with mid to upper teen dewpoints ahead of the dry line, the air between the two boundaries has dewpoints around 10ºC, and with full June insolation, may also destabilize enough for additional severe storms.

First radar indicated tornado of the day between Rochester and Minneapolis

This assclown is clearly a moonbat of the most potent variety. Absolutely none of his claims stand up to real world scrutiny.

n an Islamic London, Christians and Jews – with their allegiance to the Bible and the Talmud – would be protected as ‘peoples of the book’.

'Protected' is hardly what Jews and Christians are in Muslim countries. More like 'persecuted', 'destroyed', and 'dhimmis' at best.

The annual fasting month of Ramadan instils self-discipline, courtesy and social cohesion. And Londoners would benefit philosophically and physically from even a short period when we weren’t constantly ramming food into our mouths.

When did fasting become solely a Muslim practice? I believe Jews and Christians have practiced it before Mo (Piss Be Upon Him) was in diapers.

Application of halal (Arabic for ‘permissable’) dietary laws across London would free us at a stroke from our addiction to junk food

What? Apparently no one can make rational decisions on what to eat. Enslavement to Islam is the only way to eat healthy. Yes.

Muhammad was one of the first ever environmentalists

But will Al Goracle relinquish his god status if all enviros were to turn Muslim?

Under Islam all ethnicities are equal.

Where does it say this in the Korran? The evidence worldwide does not support this.

On the surface, Islamic health doesn’t look good: the 2001 census showed that 24 per cent of Muslim women and 21 per cent of Muslim men suffered long-term illness and disability. But these are factors of social conditions rather than religion.

What social factors? How can you separate Muslims social life from their 'religion?'

Presently, Muslim students perform less well than non-Muslim students. Again, social factors rather than religion have led to this state of affairs.

Again, what social conditions?

More importantly, everyone would be obliged to consider those Londoners who haven’t shared their good fortune.

Obliged to rat out to the Islamic authorities those that don't contribute to the poverty tax? Hello 1984.

This is scary because it's an attempt, although a very bad one, at rationalizing and promoting massive cultural change to less freedom, less rights, religious dominance, etc. And it's coming from the left. Watch out America, the left here will try this very same hypocritical, nation-destroying bullshit soon. We must act now before we get this shit pushed on us by the elite left.

Humid this morning, but rain chances look low, so I watered the lawn and the orange tree yesterday after work. I mowed the day before that.

Going out of town, to a secret location, for a reunion, this weekend, and thus won't be able to water.

Now, most of my family (well, elder moonbat 'Bush is Hitler' brother works for a defense contractor near Kansas City, and younger brother is teaching literature on the campus of a Catholic American university in Rome, before starting his new job at a renowned private institution in the Great Lakes, that if memory serves, has had Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher as commencement speakers) lives in the H-E-B Independent School District, just West of DFW airport, and the new hot spot for drilling for oil and gas in residential neighborhoods (and, because people assumed there was no oil or gas when they subdivided the cattle ranches for neighborhoods, they never bothered keeping the mineral rights, so people like my sister is receiving money for the petroleum under her 1/3rd acre suburban house), my interest in DFW weather is higher than for, say, Minnesota. Since I spent my formative years in Massapequa, NY 11758, I also watch for NYC area blizzards with great delight.

Anyhow, DFW, while potentially rather unstable even at 7 am CDT, also had a rather stout warm and dry layer of air from the Mexican highlands at 800 mb

I just checked, the RUC never lowers convective inhibition less than about -100 Joules/Kg at DFW, but the 12Z WRF suggests the cap becomes breakable late afternoon, with an amazing almost 5000 Joules/Kg CAPE and decent speed and directional shear. If the cap does break at DFW, it could be the severe weather event of an already busy severe weather season, but I'm not at all sure the cap will break. Oklahoma City probably has a better chance for the isolated tornadoes and hail baseball sized or larger, that crunches automotive sheet-metal and stars, or even punches through, automotive safety glass.

Lucas County radar indicated tornado should stay well East of downtown Des Moines.

As a Black person whose father is an Igbo from West Africa, I can tell you personally that not all Muslims are "equal", in Islam.

I know many Black Muslims who are treated as sub human in Saudi Arabia and throughout the Arab world. In Islam, the futher you get from being Arab, the lower down on the Muslim racial hiarchy you appear. Just google " Racist Islam Blacks" if you'd like to find out.

Why is it that it is forbidden for the Koran to be translated in a language other than Arabic? Islam has been a vehicle for Arab supremacy wherever it goes.

Don't shiite militiamen still hold 5 Brits hostage? Remember the ones who were taken from inside the Iraq Finance Ministry building?

You wouldn't know it from the "News" page of the Daily Telegraph.

you will find that "Foreign Mums Fuel Fertility High" and see nice pics of the G8 leaders enjoying powerboating and doing photo ops.

Oh, and you can learn about Paris Hilton too. But British citizens held by Shiite militiamen in Iraq?

Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim – it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story.

Funny, that's kinda like Malcom X's response to the time he journied to Mecca ... the racist scales were lifted from his eyes and he felt a brotherhood.  It confused him, too, for a bit, but after he began to see people of different races as people first.

Nation of Islam had him killed for it, of course, but still ... I can see where they'd get a lot of blacks, etc., as converts w/this tactic, as well as moonbats galore ...

Although England has a long tradition of religious bigotry against, for instance, Roman Catholics, it is reasonable to assume that under the guiding hand of Islam a civilised accommodation could be made among faith groups in London.

Reasonable?! His reasoning must be on the same level as C. Hedges. That guiding hand he speaks of is not civilized and is not accommodating.

Trent Lott wants to let us know that his constituents (well the ones he cares about at least) want the amnesty passed.

If we can't do this then we ought to vote to dissolve the Congress and go home till a new Congress," said Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., who added that he's getting calls from constituents upset that Congress can't pass an immigration reform bill.

I'm so pleased and proud that the GOP senators voted to put Lott back into a leadership role after the November 2006 election debacle. His is the kind of leadership and responsiveness to the base that the GOP needs.

Umm, that's exactly what Ramadan fast is--an excuse for gluttony. They just stuff their faces after sundown.

It's more than that.

According to the islamic holy war manual, allah's enemies are safe from attack in the days of the holy month of Ramadan. Can't recall if it says anything about the nights.

Of course, the cycle of the moon(light) is the critical determinant of the start of Ramadan, isn't it?

By eating at night and sleeping all day, after a few days, one may develop a buildup of visual purple, and with enhanced night vision, improve one's chances of discovering a new planet. Or something.

Let's see,

Blanket amnesty, no matter how they have attempted to "frame the argument".

Not one illegal immigrant will pasy a penny in fines, no matter how they "frame the argument".

No Illegal immigrant is going to go back to Mexico, and re-enter with some kind of work permit, no matter how they "frame the argument."

Border enforcement?

One border Patrol agent every 15-20 miles, is virtually no real border enforcement.

This immigration bill is a complete joke.

In an Islamic London, Christians and Jews – with their allegiance to the Bible and the Talmud – would be protected as ‘peoples of the book’. Hindus and Sikhs manage to live alongside a large Muslim population in India, so why not here? Although England has a long tradition of religious bigotry against, for instance, Roman Catholics, it is reasonable to assume that under the guiding hand of Islam a civilised accommodation could be made among faith groups in London.

This has got to be satire.

Alcohol is haram, or forbidden, to Muslims. As London is above the national average for alcohol-related deaths in males, with 17.6 per 100,000 people (Camden has 31.6 per 100,000 males), turning all the city’s pubs into juice bars would have a massive positive effect on public health. Forbid alcohol throughout the country, and you’d avoid many of the 22,000 alcohol-related deaths and the £7.3 billion national bill for alcohol-related crime and disorder each year.

Promotes public hygiene? Sorry, give me a hospital where every single staff member is forced to use cleansers that actually kill germs quickly. (hint: alcohol kills germs)

I'd also kinda prefer it if my doctor and nurse hadn't just been touching their feet. Nasty things end up on the floor in hospitals...

As for the health benefits of prohibiting alcoholic beverages, what about all those studies showing moderate consumption actually provides a variety of health benefits?

And while the alcohol-related crime rate might go down in an Islamic London, just look at the actual violent crime rates in significantly Muslim areas in England, and reconsider your little idea that you'd be better off.

By the last breath of the fourth winds blow
Better raise your ears
The sound of hooves knocks at your door
Lock up your wife and children now
Its time to wield the blade
For now you have got some company

The horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They have come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die

You have been dying since the day
You were born
You know it has all been planned
The quartet of deliverance rides
A sinner once a sinner twice
No need for confession now
Cause now you have got the fight of your life

The horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They have come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die

Time
Has taken its toll on you
The lines that crack your face
Famine
Your body it has torn through
Withered in every place
Pestilence
For what you have had to endure
And what you have put others through
Death
Deliverance for you for sure
There is nothing you can do
So gather round young warriors now
And saddle up your steeds
Killing scores with demon swords
Now is the death of doers of wrong
Swing the judgment hammer down
Safely inside armor blood guts and sweat

The horsemen are drawing nearer
On the leather steeds they ride
They have come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die

...sounds like these days are upon us... would be much better than living under Islamic Law...

THIS IS FROM THE SAME [DELETED], FROM HIS ARTICLE ABOUT 9/11:
A MOONBAT AND A DANGEROUS ONE, A MR. SUPER-DOUBLETALK

In the years that followed 9/11 Londoners have marched against a war in Iraq that was supposed to punish the hijackers (although none of them were Iraqi) and eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction (although, as our leaders well knew, they didn’t exist). When our tubes and buses have been blown up we’ve been called idiots for wondering if the attacks were in any way connected to our disastrous foreign policy and London bobbies have reacted to the threat of militant Islam by assassinating Brazilian electricians. As I write, the Metropolitan Police have arrested more Muslims for an alleged plot to blow US-bound passenger jets out of the sky, perhaps as that Twin Tower-less skyline was about to come into view. But now, sadly, the main legacy of 9/11 is cynicism.

You know, David Horowitz was really onto something big in his book Unholy Alliance.

In particular, notice this: once we have embraced this idiotic belief system, THEN ecology, education, public health, arts, social justice will all appear in the "Radiant Future." This is going to happen in ISLAM, which has no concern at all for ecology, education, public health, the arts, or social justice?

Come on! We're talking about people who pollute as much as they possibly can, think that "education" consists of forcing boys (and only boys) to memorize a Koran they don't understand, have no system of public health at ALL, forbid the exercise of the arts (sculpture, painting, music etc.) and treat their Filipino maids as SLAVES?

How do you get that stupid?

People in MSP, don't give up all hope:

Whle the initial front (as seen on this satellite loop) has swept the deeper moisture to the East, and dewpoints are now aob 10º/50ºF (45ºF in New Ulm!), which means the tornado risk is now slim, ample June sunshine is heating temps well into the 80s (almost 30º), and very cold mid-level temps and strong jet dynamics will accompany the second front moving in from the Dakotas. So a strong, hail producing thunderstorm may still be in your future this afternoon, and, if anything, lower humidity near the surface with warm temps may increase the chance for damaging straight line winds!

There isn't a word to describe the off-the-scale lunacy of this statement. I'm glad he added the "End of story" comment. It lets me know that he is the supreme authority on the issue and that further debate is unnecessary. What a craven coward! I guess he expects special treatment for his idiotic public statements when the IEH (Islamic Event Horizon) is crossed in Britain.

I've often heard Liberalism described as a mental disorder. Perhaps a better way of looking at it is "Arrested Development." Think about their behavior. Is it not similar to that of a four year old with siblings? A four year old demands the world be absolutely fair, yet does everything he/her can to obtain special attention and treatment. They choose the opposite side of an argument, not because it makes any sense, but to piss off a sibling. And my favorite, when caught in the cookie jar of malfeasance or failed policy, face covered with crumbs and chocolate, they point the finger at everyone else.

The only down side of this argument is that most four year olds have more self respect.

Once you have submitted, you haven't just submitted. Now, you must submit to being told what to wear {a bomb vest}, where to wear it {in the company of infidels}, and how to die {messily}.

But suppose you can beg off on that. You will still be at risk of oppression for being {a woman, a non-speaker of Arabic, a Sunni when you should have been Shia, Shiite when you should have been Sunni, Sunni but not Wahabbi, not bearded, etc. etc.}

Suppose you're the really submissive type, so all that's OK with you. You will bend to the storm, say anything, and do anything not too dangerous. You're still not out of the woods. Your society cannot carry on the commercial and scientific-technical work that underpins your current standard of living if you have much company in your decision to submit. Capitalism and freedom go together, and there will be no freedom so there can be no capitalism. (Not even the socialist-capitalism of today's Europe.) You will have to submit also to poverty.

Why Iran will fight, not compromise

Big problems for the mullahs,

Iranian dissidents put overall unemployment at 30% and youth unemployment at 50%. Government subsidies sustain a very large portion of the population; 42% of the non-agricultural population is employed by the Iranian state,

...The present inflation rate of about 20%, driven by a 40% rate of monetary expansion, suggests that government resources are already exhausted. Governments resort to the printing press when they no longer can raise sufficient funds through taxation, sales of state-owned commodities such as oil, or borrowing...The fact that Iran cannot stabilize its currency suggests a breakdown of political consensus within the regime, and a scramble by different elements in the regime to lay hands on whatever resources it can.

Another possibility is that the official numbers are entirely false, and that Iran already has fallen into a current-account deficit. In a May 19 statement reported by the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), President Mahmud Ahmadinejad denied a report that Iran's imports now exceed $60 billion, against an official estimate of $45 billion. This sort of discrepancy typically occurs when capital flight is disguised as imports through fraudulent invoices and similar devices. A small current-account deficit would be of little concern for a nation with normal access to world capital markets, but Iran is unable to borrow.

That is the background to Ahmadinejad's decree last week reducing private and state bank lending rates to 12% from 14%, that is, 5-10 percentage points below the rate of inflation. If Ahmadinejad were in the pay of a hostile intelligence service, he could not have found a more effective way to sabotage Iran's economy. If the price of goods rises faster than the cost of money, everyone who can will borrow money to purchase and hoard goods. The result will be higher prices and reduced economic activity, and the eventual prospect of hyperinflation, which no government ever has survived. Last week's rate reduction augmented the incentives for capital flight.

...What strategic consequences ensue from Iran's economic misery? Broadly speaking, the choices are two. In the most benign scenario, Iran's clerical establishment will emulate the Soviet Union of 1987, when...Gorbachev acknowledged that communism had led Russia to the brink of ruin in the face of vibrant economic growth among the United States and its allies. Russia no longer had the resources to sustain an arms race with the US, and broke down under the pressure of America's military buildup.

The second choice is an imperial adventure. In fact, Iran is engaged in such an adventure, funding and arming Shi'ite allies from Basra to Beirut, and creating clients selectively among such Sunnis as Hamas in Palestine.

...An old piece of diplomatic wisdom states that one always should give one's enemy a way out. But I see no way out for the pocket empire of Persia. Ahmadinejad and his generation of Revolutionary Guards will fight, and cautious old men like Rafsanjani will not be able to stop them.

O..M..G read it and weep

Democrat Byron Dorgan, author of the temporary worker program sunset provision that passed after midnight last night, has a piece in NRO arguing against amnesty. Yes, believe it:

America is a great country. Many people from throughout the world would like to come here and take part in the American Dream. I understand that.
But, if we had no restrictions on immigration and just threw open the doors and welcomed everyone from everywhere we’d be over run by people wanting to move to the United States.

So, we try to manage immigration through quotas. Nearly a million and a half people come to our country legally every year through this process. In addition, another one million people plus come here each year to work legally at agricultural jobs.

Now, I’m sensitive to the fact that some immigrants who have come here illegally have worked hard for decades and even raised their families here. We need to take that into account as we try to resolve their status.

But I don’t think we should decide that anybody who showed up here illegally as of last December 31 should be given a green light to stay here and work here permanently.

Our laws need to be enforced — both at the border and at the workplace. Just as someone sneaking across the border illegally should be punished, so too should employers who break the law and hire illegal immigrants for low wages.

Once we’ve secured the border, and taken away the market for illegal labor, then will be the time to consider the best way to address the status of illegal immigrants in our country.

Although England has a long tradition of religious bigotry against, for instance, Roman Catholics, it is reasonable to assume that under the guiding hand of Islam a civilised accommodation could be made among faith groups in London.

Yeah, just they let the people in Dafour co-exist with them. Or where they have killed almost 2,000 Buddhists in Thailand. There are thousands of examples where Islam has killed thousands during the last 5 or 6 years. This guy has no clue that Islam is a cult of death.

He is often over-the-top in doom-and-gloom, and has often been wrong in his predictions (in 2004 he predicted the US would invite Russia into Iraq to help them clear out Fallujah because the Americans don't know how to do that sort of thing, and the Russians are so good at it, eg. Chechnya),

...but this time I fear he is correct. Ahmadinejad will push Iran to war because his apocolyptic eschatology demands chaos and because it's the only way his regime can stay in power.

Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim – it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story.

The person who wrote this has not read one single history of Islam. It is true that the texts themselves make a distinction only between believers and non-believers. However, from the very beginning there was favoritism toward Arabs and exclusion of non-Arabs. People forget that "Arab", strictly speaking, was a tribe no different in scale from the Moabites, the Canaanites, the Amonites, the Phoenicians, etc. It was only after the Arabs (tribe) spread Arabic via the Islamic conquest that "Arab" is frequently associated with "Middle-Eastern-Non-Jews". Even at the time of the second caliphate the discrimination was already present, primarily in land-ownership and political opportunities.

Today, there is overt racism throughout the Arab world. For example, Saudi Arabians look down on black-African Muslims and typically give them the worst jobs. Remember the Saudi HeadChopper video? Guy was black.

Even without racism, the religious persecution is wide-scale and severe. Beyond the Jizya (poll tax), non-Muslims are persecuted (Copts in Egypt, Christians in the West Bank, Lebanon, Iraq, Jews everywhere, not to mention Homophobia (hanging gays in Iran and elsewhere), and the Koranic prescriptions to beat women and practice polygamy.

Nobody should write articles about Islam without having (at least) read "The Middle East: A Brief History of the Last 2000 Years" by Bernard Lewis.

The Daily Ron Paul 08 bandwagon watch rolls on. Today's puff piece comes courtesy of CNN.

Right now “Ron Paul” is among the top-searched terms on Technorati, the popular site that tracks blog posts. According to the community Web site, Eventful, there are more than 16,000 outstanding “demands” for Paul to appear in cities across the country – that’s up 11,000 from just one week ago, leapfrogging him over Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York. Ron Paul video clips get plenty of play on YouTube and there is no shortage of blogs devoted to his support.

What do these numbers mean? How do you reconcile that support with the national poll numbers? In virtually every scientific national poll — generally regarded as the best measurement of public support for a political candidate — Paul registers, at most, between 1 and 2 percent. Do the debate numbers reflect something different than the national polls? Is it too early to tell?

Geez, it would appear that the so-called professional bloggers at CNN have never seen or heard of spammers. Paul's denziens, who may number less than I have fingers and toes, are able to game online polls, and CNN thinks that may be significant?

Actually, most national polls by recognized polling companies give him less than 1%. In fact, they give him a big fat zero. There's a reason for that. He has no support. However, online, a solitary dedicated loon can cause all manner of mayhem.

Hence the "Ron Paul phenomenon."

Keeping tabs on Silky Pony:

Dear John Edwards One Corps Member,

First, we just wanted to thank you again for making our national "Support the Troops, End the War" effort in May so successful. Thousands of people took part in nearly 600 events all across the country on Memorial Day Weekend and helped spread the important message that the best way to support the troops is to end this war in Iraq and bring them home to a hero's welcome. Our message is being heard and our voice is making a difference.

Now, we have to keep growing this campaign to change America.

Because you're a John Edwards One Corps leader, we want to give you a sneak peek of what's next: This month, we're organizing an ambitious national round of house parties on Thursday, June 28. It's a big opportunity to reach out to thousands of new supporters, spread our message of transformational change, and raise the resources that we need to stay competitive.

Early next week, we'll be launching this initiative to all of our supporters with details, materials, and a new event creation tool. But we wanted John Edwards One Corps members to be the first to know.

Think of this as your "Save the Date" email, and stay tuned next week for the launch email with everything you need to begin.

Thanks for taking action,

Yep, the same climate chnge that has happened on earth for 4.5 billions years, millions and millions of times.

The Medival Period, the earth was 13 degrees warmer than it currently, under the 1/2 degree warming that is currently underway.

I wonder if it was SUV's and aerosol sprays that caused it then, also?

Exhibit A:

If Islam became the dominant religion in London the same ethos could be applied to schooling across swathes of underprivileged and deprived areas of the city. This could have a revolutionary effect on educational achievement and, perhaps just as importantly, general levels of discipline and self-respect among London’s young people. While controversy rages over faith schools, there are 37 Muslim schools in London. As of 2004, only five were state schools, but there is growing pressure to bring more into the state sector which, according to Alam, will ‘help raise achievement for many sectors of the Muslim community. Many private Muslim schools are under-resourced and if they can be brought into the state sector this valuable experience can be extended to more children.’

Try to imagine Iowahawk writing something like this. It isn't parody; it doesn't even attempt to be funny. It's dead earnest.

Sometimes al_Beeb surprises me...Saudi prince 'received arms cash'

Arms deals with the Saudis have been worth billions to the UK

BBC investigation

A Saudi prince who negotiated a £40bn arms deal between Britain and Saudi Arabia received secret payments for over a decade, a BBC probe has found.
The UK's biggest arms dealer, BAE Systems, paid hundreds of millions of pounds to the ex-Saudi ambassador to the US, Prince Bandar bin Sultan.

The payments were made with the full knowledge of the Ministry of Defence.

Prince Bandar "categorically" denied receiving any improper payments and BAE said it acted lawfully at all times.

The MoD said information about the Al Yamamah deal was confidential.

Sir Raymond Lygo, a former chief executive of BAE, told the BBC's World Business Report that there had been "nothing untoward" about the arms deal.

"I was the one who won the contract," he said. "I don't know anything about him (the prince) at all. I would have remembered that name."

All that BAE has ever rejected is any suggestion that the commission payments were illegal

When asked about the secret payments, Sir Lygo said that it was not going on when the deal was signed.

"I would have known if it was going on at the time. I was not aware of it, so as far as I am concerned it was not occuring.[...]

You know as well as I do, that a Dem President, who will be a kook, and a Dem Congress, who already is kook, and a Dem U.N. Ambassador, who will be a kook, will not allow that many Americans to own firearms.

You know that.

A U.N. ban on all firearms privately owned, coupled with a POTUS who would sign onto it, what would they try and do to 100+ million firearm owners?

There will be a very serious attempt/s by the US government within the next 10 years, to remove firearms from Americans.

How do you think it will play out, they're not just going to roll over, just like American firearms owners aren't going to just roll over.

Something will have to give.

How will they attempt to disarm American JWF, because there will be attempts, guarenteed?

this is from the weblog of Christianity Today by Ted Olson:

Wednesday, another Chaldean priest, Hani Abdel Ahad, was abducted in Baghdad. Earlier in the week, militants attacked and occupied a Chaldean convent. And Shiites have now joined radical Sunnis in demanding that Christian women in Baghdad wear veils. News agencies also report that Muslim groups are demanding "that Christians pay the jizya, the poll tax demanded by the Koran which all Christians and Jews must pay in exchange for being allowed to live and practice their faith as well as being entitled to "Muslim protection' from outside aggression."

Assyrian International News Agency further reports that Christian women are being forced into marriages with Muslims. It quotes Assyrian Patriarch Mar Addai II as saying, "Only the families that agree to give a daughter or sister in marriage to a Muslim can remain, which means that the entire nuclear family will progressively become Muslim."

Again, that's the news just from this week. The plight of Iraq's Christians is scheduled to be Pope Benedict XVI's top agenda item when he meets with President Bush on Saturday.

Leading paragraph (after intro):

The noise from the expectant crowd hushed to a murmur as an open-backed lorry that had driven slowly up the Mall – known since the Islamic revolution of 2021 as The Way of the Martyrs – nudged its way through the thousands gathered in Mohammad Sidique Khan Square. On the lorry, two masked guards held a young man, black hood over his head; a quiver running through the material suggested he knew what was coming.

Huh? Still on the Julian calendar after the Islamic revolution? That does not compute. Or maybe it does, because no one is left alive who can, or dares to.

latest visible imagery shows a very narrow line of cumulus along this boundary.

Now, recall in earlier post on LGF I showed a stout cap at 800 mb as seen on the Fort Worth 7 am sounding.

Current RUC analysis at Abilene shows -140 Joules/Kg inhibition, which means storms will not fire on their own. But CAPE is almost 3000 Joules/Kg, so if, and this is a big if, if any storms do fire along this boundary, they could bring some impressive severe weather to North Texas.

Not going to happen.

I live my life, knowing that the attempts to do so will continue to come.

They will never stop, ever, and they are growing in financing, NGO power, politician power in Washington, msm power, more than ever before.

They will not reach a point where they stop, and civil type war, if it were ever to come, would ruin this country in a matter of months, which is actually, I think, one of the scenerios that they hope for, because then, they would imply convince many, that it is for the good of America.

I may have to die to protect my rights, my family, and my country, my Constitution, but I am willing, should it come down to it.

I rarely never say never, especially when fighting the power of Evil.

Race relations
Under Islam all ethnicities are equal. Once you have submitted to Allah you are a Muslim – it doesn’t matter what colour you are. End of story.

It will be hard to refuse the anti-Christ...

11Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

Don't any of them get how Communists and secular Palestinian terrorists provided critical help to Khomeni and without them he would have never gotten into power. And after he was in power his first act was to murder every last one of them.

The only advantage to having Muslim overlords would be that we wouldn't have to ever worry about the "Bums and boobs instead of bombs" and the inflatable scrotum guy at Berkley. Nor would we have to put with with 24/7 coverage of Paris Hilton.

Fortunately, the PSRH is trying to counterbalance the massive KCF (Kitty Carbon Footprint) with another feral animal swarming the Islands: the "Free-Range Chicken," which, according to Wolfgang Cluck, is a far more humane way to raise yard bird... and environmentally friendly to boot!

They went full bore for gun control in the early 90s when they had all three branches, and soon thereafter, they had only one branch.

They also did the most damage against lawful, legal American firearms owners during the 90's.

Not one of those new laws stopped a single criminal, it only infringed further against lawful American firearms owners.

It's not just about a ban, it's also about the number of times that they infringe on lawful firearms owners.

I will not ever turn my firearms over to some county firearm bank, where I must check them out if I want to go hunting.

They can put laws in place, that are near identical to an all out ban.

Remember, Hillary, Obama, Edwards, etc, believe in their hearts, that Americans can be banned from owning firearms.

That in itself, considering one of them could be POTUS in 2009, is of serious concern.

July is generally too soon for the peak of Hurricane Season, although June 27, 1957 had Category 4 Hurricane Audrey make landfall at the Sabine River on the Texas-Louisiana line, close to the meet-up, and in 2003, Borderline Category 1/Category 2 Hurricane Claudette made landfall on July 15th near Matagorda Bay.

You could nonetheless be right--as could I.

Well, you may be right; I may be crazy. But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for.

Anyway, here's my trump card, old chap; another Time Out piece by Michael Hodges, reviewing an Australian movie.

'There have been biopics like 'Ned Kelly', but that didn't really deal with the issue of empire-building in Australia and of how that effects what it means to be Australian.'

Anti-Arab riots on Bondi Beach at Christmas and the continuing success of John Howard's Liberal government – a government that plays the race card at elections and claims Australia has 'said sorry enough' for the murder and exploitation of its original inhabitants – suggest this is a timely film.

Does that read to you like the work of someone who's poised to read a clever cautionary piece about Islam? (Note, inter alia, that he kinda sorta forgot to mention the Arab rioters at Bondi Beach)

Plenty of sane Democrats own weapons as well.

Most of my family and extended family are firearm owning Democrats, the thing that bothers me about them, is they blindly vote Democrat, no matter who the candidate is, even when they are raving anti-gun Democrats, such as Jon Carry and Algore, etc.

At least half of this countries voters, are much the same.

That is hat keeps the concern live.

If it were just a small fringe, it wouldn't be a concern, but I don't know a single Democrat, firearm owner, voter, who doesn't blindly vote Democrat, and now add in the 30+ million illegals, who will be voting in 2008, whether they are legal citizens or not.

The Ecology of Islam

I almost urinated in my pants at this fool's belief that Islamic societies give a rodent's rectum about the ecology.

I have visited several Islamic cites and villages and I can say that if leaving your garbage right where you tossed it is loving mother earth, Gaia is totally loved in the Arab towns I visited.

Saudi Arabia used to have some wild game. The introduction of the gun has pretty much seen the end of most species of their desert.

Palestinians, despite being the largest recipients of international donations per person of anyone in the world discharge raw sewage into the sea.

When I close my eyes and think of the basic violations of western health rules I have personally seen in the Souk, I cringe. Yes, someone does eat the meat after the flies have been on it all afternoon and no the meat is not kept at a hot enough temperature to prevent it spoiling either.

But wait there's more! Saddam Hussein was the first world leader since WWII to use poison gas on civilians. But he did Halabja masacre in an eco friendly way and he saved the environment by pushing some polluters (they must have done something) off buildings instead of releasign greenhouse gases using firearms.

And the greatest eco star of them all is of course Bin Laden himself. He destroyed four aircraft and 3,000 American megapolluters on 9-11. And her really regrets if anyone anhaled anything as result of his efforts to bring all of us closer to Mother Earth.

I would not ebe too surprised if George Soros is threatening to destabilize the US Dollar by the end of this year...

I really hope he tries. He did manage to destablize some Far East currencies many years ago. However, destabilizing the US dollar would take a whole lot more money than he has. Our GDP in 2006 was about $44,000,000,000,000 (44 TRILLION dollars), and that largely ignores the service sector. Nobody can move a rock that large except another government, or rather lots of them acting in concert.

It would probably look like its working for a very short time, and then it would bankrupt him.

The Holy Quran contains many wondrous teachings that show us how to live moral and righteous lives, but it also contains much information about the nature of the universe and various branches of science, including astrophysics.

For example, one verse seems to refer to the Big Bang theory.

In verse 30 of Surah 21 (The Prophets) of the Holy Quran, it is written: “Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, but We have opened them; and We have made of water every living thing, will they not then believe?”

The Encyclopaedia Britannica writes: “According to the big-bang model, the universe expanded rapidly from a highly compressed primordial state, which resulted in a significant decrease in density and temperature.”

Several scientists have cited this verse as proof that the Holy Quran mentions the Big Bang theory, although other experts say it does not provide great detail on the Big Bang theory and reject the interpretation.

The Holy Quran also apparently describes the curvature of the universe.

According to Albert Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, gravity can be described as the curvature of the space-time continuum, which is produced by the mass-energy and momentum of matter.

In verse 40 of Surah 36 (Ya Seen) of the Holy Quran, it is written: “Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere.”

In verse 33 of Surah 21 (The Prophets) of the Holy Quran, it is written: “And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (orbs) travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres.”

In Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, gravity can be visualized as a curvature on which objects in orbit ride like marbles circling around in a bowl.

Yup, that sure looks like E=mc2 to me! (Or maybe just a loose translation of Aristotle's spherical model cobbled from the Greeks) Geesh!

It's kind of 'deep cover satire' with plausible deniability, so cleverly done that people here have been debating hard over whether it's satire or meant to be taken seriously!

The writer's style is described as 'acerbic'. One giveaway is when he mentions that Muslims' cleanliness would help erradicate 'super-bugs' from hospitals. As you may know, some London hospitals tried to wipe out ward infections by having a dispenser of strong disinfectant at the entrance to each ward and asking every visitor to wipe their hands with it. The experiment failed - but only because muslims refused to cooperate out of suspicion that the disinfectant was tainted by alcohol!

Personally I prefer more confrontational satire like P.J. O'Roarke, but as you say a less subtle approach would have got Time Out boycotted and its offices mobbed.

Brown is, as was fully expected, making a few of the right noises in order to assuage the growling din of dissatisfaction from the electorate, but nobody seems to be falling for it.

Though on the political flip side, they're just as ready to lynch Tory leader David Cameron, too. Every time he opens his mush, he drives the wedge between his party and traditional Conservatives yet deeper. A lot of them his own backbenchers, too.

Damn. I was afraid of that. It sounds like our mother country and her offspring are in very much the same situation, but at least we have a Rebublican President, and will again, in the next election. Anything else is unimaginable.

Isn't Mrs. Brown, at least, the antithesis to Cherie Blair? I was in London when they lost their first child...I hope she is.

'New Labour'? Ha!

In fact, Islam offers Londoners potential health benefits: the Muslim act of prayer is designed to keep worshippers fit, their joints supple and, at five times a day, their stomachs trim.

I'm pretty sure this is parody. It's dry, but it's parody, I think. Sort of a verbal double-reverse judo-flip.

I agree, this must be parody done in a very dry fashion - very little in the way of winks to the reader.

Um, on the other hand, I read one of the author's other TimeOut articles where he sincerely berates alleged anti-Muslim riots in Australia. I really don't know if this is parody or not.

Er no, not quite the end of the story, you gullible dimwit. Read the Koran. Ask the Imam if you need to: if you don't submit to Allah then you are considered to be a piece of filth that is to find harshness in this life, and be tortured eternally (by Allah himself) in the next. But as long as you adopt a submissive tone and watch your mouth in the presence of your Islamic betters, you will be 'tolerated'. As long as you are not gay of course. Lovely.

Btw I can't wait to see the left try to explain to gays that sometimes ones life choices can be offensive to others - 'entire groups of people' in fact - and isn't it time they considered how they made others feel? Wouldn't it be nicer if they all just went back in the closet? It's coming soon, I'm sure.

518 docremulac  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 3:43:29pm

Being "above" the instinct of survival is not unprescedented among Europeans. During the holocost of the French revolution (which they still celebrate every year, something to think about) upper class ladies would wear red ribbons around their neck at partys signifying they would be going to the gulliotine. They also made sure they went to their deaths with great poise and "dignity".

Same thing with this douchbag. Probably some looser that finally gets a chance to make himself look better than everybody else by making fun of the basic survival instinct that he's above. If being thought of as better than everybody else is more important to you than survival, well, this is what you get.

As a British PersonTM, I feel it's my duty to write a genuinely satirical paragraph for that piece:

Visions of Hell

Another difference between Islam and Christianity is in the doling out of torture in hell. In Christianity the job is carried out by satan and his minions, a terrifying array of monsters and demons from the nightmares of the ancients. Many modern, liberal people like myself are coming to find that the Islamic hell is actually refreshingly free of such lurid fantasies. Here, it is the merciful, compassionate face of Allah himself that you will see approaching you with the burning embers, the iron hooks and the draughts of molten metal. Isn't that reassuring? Instead of leaving the job to a bunch of monsters, Allah takes personal care to see to it that the eternal torture is carried out properly and no doubt fairly.

Serious or satire?

Just had dinner in London with a good American friend and now read this.

Thought it was a joke, but now convinced it's not. Which says a lot about the changes going on here.

It's mainly tourists who read Time Out as Londoners know what's going on anyway. Which says a lot about the message they want to send out.

People should have to take a test before they speak. No one as ignorant as this man should be allowed to speak. I realise that goes against all we feel about free expression but this ignorance is too much. Islam DOES promote violence and one the last "values" it espouses is tolerance of others. It's all in the Koran, not in CAIR's brief to the stupid, unenquiring media.

The left because they have a shared hatred of Judeo/Christian values with Islam think they are the friend of Islam, while Islam detests the immorality of the left, but for now looks the other way since the left is the enemy of their enemy, and they play the liberal loony left as useful idiots for global dominance in Sharia and the Caliphate.

The liberal loony left will be the first to feel the edge of Islams scimitar once Muslims are done using the left.

Can't find even one word to disagree with.

#539 wishbone

I had seen a rather lengthy article about her, and should have saved it. She seems to not be another Cherie dearest ,which in and of itself a good thing. I remember her because of the loss of their baby...one of my daughter in laws lost one of twins 7 years ago, less than a day after she was born, at just before week 25. The effect it has had on all of us, including my 7 year old granddaughter is profound. The Browns bore their loss with impressive dignity, especially Mrs. Brown. It is hard enough to grieve in private... I hope she can make a diffeence with her husband.

Here is an article that is not good news for a country that I love: Rising immigration fuels 26-year fertility high.

542 Sharmuta  Thu, Jun 7, 2007 8:23:22pm

It is not satire.

Thanks for the research. I also guessed it was no satire.

549 Yank in the EU  Fri, Jun 8, 2007 3:56:12am

Incredibly this article is not satire. Listen to what he said in the first person about 9/11:

I didn’t believe it. Who would? And besides, I had other stuff on my mind. When the first plane slammed into the towers I was in a military supply store outside Tel Aviv trying on a flak jacket.‘This one,’ the salesman told me, ‘is cheaper but it doesn’t cover your neck.’ I had enough money for the cheaper one and a drink, or the expensive one and no drink.‘Well,’ I said, considering how dangerous it might get on the West Bank later that day, ‘things aren’t that bad at the moment. I’ll take the cheaper one.’The call from London came just as the car passed Megiddo, heading towards the Green Line, the border between Israel and the Occupied Territories. It seems suspiciously appropriate but I was driving past the biblical site of Armageddon when I heard about the end of the world as we knew it...

In the days after the attack, things did get dangerous in the Occupied Territories. When a small rent-a-mob cheered on the hijackers outside the Old City in Arab east Jerusalem a convenient myth was born for Ariel Sharon’s government: that the Palestinians were allied with Al-Qaeda. Soon enough Israeli tanks rolled into the West Bank. No Palestinian I met supported the outrage, rather they felt the same as the Londoners I talked to when I got back: shocked at the loss of so much innocent life, offering support to the people of New York and convinced that those behind the attacks should be held to account.

The guy claims he was near Tel Aviv, headed to the West Bank, on 9/11. He's a bit deranged.
