-RetweetPalestinians Flee to Israel

Sat, Jun 16, 2007 at 10:34:35 am PDT

According to the international left and the paleo-right, Israel is a fascist apartheid state, a brutal occupier, universally despised by the oppressed Palestinian people.

So where do the oppressed Palestinians look for sanctuary, when the terrorist government they elected begins the inevitable slaughter?

Palestinians run as they try to cross to the Israel side at the Erez Crossing, in the northern Gaza Strip, Saturday, June 16, 2007. Dozens of Palestinians converged on the Erez crossing with Israel on Saturday, trying to leave the Gaza Strip following Hamas’ takeover. At the same time, hundreds of people looted police positions on the Palestinian side of Erez, and at one point Israeli troops fired in the air to keep the crowd at bay. The looters walked off with furniture and scrap metal. (AP Photo/Hatem Moussa)

Have the wages of appeasement ever been clearer?

When Israelis lived in Gaza, they had a thriving economy, one which employed thousands of Palestinians working in agriculture.

But NOOO, that was evil "occupation"!

So, to appease the dhimmis and the Islamists, Israel uprooted its residents.

FInally, Gaza was free and independent!

Except...

...From the very hour israel left, the place had gone straight to hell, culminating in a complete breakdown of society as of yesterday.

This is the third reference I've seen to looting of furniture in as many days. Are they short on furniture in Gaza and the West Bank? Is there a business opportunity here?

So where do the oppressed Palestinians look for sanctuary, when the terrorist government they elected begins the inevitable slaughter?

This is simply because the Jews, oops, Israelis, through their relentless propaganda, have caused the poor, noble Palestinians to internalize the Jews', oops, I mean Israelis own racist hatred of them. Hence, by fleeing from Palestine, they are really fleeing from... wait, got it, fleeing from their own internal Jew! Oops, I mean Israeli.

I mentioned Michael Medved the previous thread.

What are the odds...

I'll give Hannity credit, he was a straight Bush/GOP shill, but even he seems to have figured out Bush isn't a conservative.

Meanwhile, Michael Medved, who I really enjoy listening to, seems to have drunk the Bush-Kennedy Amnesty Bill Kool-Aid, and when people call to disagree, he used very disinenuosu arguments like 80% of Americans want immigration reform (we do, but lets secure the border first, then figure out what to do with Harry Reid's "undocumented Americans"), or that we can't just deport 12 million people, or it isn't amnesty because to get citizenship back taxes and a fine have to be paid. No mention that those that don't choose ciizenship get permanent residency and full entitlement to welfare without paying any fees or taxes, or that the Bush-Kennedy supporters killed amendments to keep a wide class of felons and drunk drivers from getting amnesty.

"The era of justice and Islamic rule has arrived."

Gaza has fallen to Hamas, but not just to Hamas: the group is the newest member of Iran’s growing portfolio of allies, clients, and proxies, and thus its victory was also a triumph for Iran’s policy of manifest destiny in the Middle East.

From Hot Air...
Atheists and Agnostics Take Aim at Christians

One of the most fascinating insights from the research is the increasing size of the no-faith segment with each successive generation. The proportion of atheists and agnostics increases from 6% of Elders (ages 61+) and 9% of Boomers (ages 42-60), to 14% of Busters (23-41) and 19% of adult Mosaics (18-22). When adjusted for age and compared to 15 years ago, each generation has changed surprisingly little over the past decade and a half. Each new generation entered adulthood with a certain degree of secular fervor, which appears to stay relatively constant within that generation over time. This contradicts the popular notion that such generational differences are simply a product of people becoming more faith-oriented as they age.

BANGKOK (AFP) - Thousands of supporters of ousted Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra braved rainy skies and heavy security late Saturday to protest against the junta that deposed him.

The demonstration came a day after Thaksin addressed crowds in a recorded speech from London, urging the junta to push ahead with elections set for December and calling for reconciliation after months of political turmoil.

Police said about 10,000 people filled a plaza in central Bangkok, where they chanted "Fight, Thaksin, fight" under a giant banner reading "Democracy now."

Protesters also held signs reading "Junta out" and carried pictures of Thaksin.

The size of the crowd was rivalled by the security force, with more than 10,000 police mobilised for the protest and another 13,000 soldiers on standby in case of any violence, officials said.

mour (haven't heard of Damour? It was only Muslims slaughtering Christians, so no big deal)

Nice read there, including:

Two days later, Palestinian militias retaliated in Damour, a Lebanese Christian town 12 miles south of Beirut, close to the home of Camille Chamoun. Most of the inhabitants managed to flee during the assault, but a number stayed behind as the Palestinian forces seized control of the town. The attackers destroyed the buildings in the seaside village systematically and then took revenge on the remaining Christian inhabitants. The Christian cemetery was destroyed, coffins dug up, the dead robbed, vaults opened, and bodies and skeletons thrown across the graveyard. The church was burnt and an outside wall was covered with a mural of Fatah guerrillas holding AK47 rifles.

So, please spare your tears if one of these nice Fatah lads has his head stomped into pulp on a previous thread. Boo fucking hoo.

Gotta tell ya, I'm surprised it took this long for Gaza to break down this badly. It's always been the civil war watch since Israel left, but this utter and complete breakdown I was calling for six months after the withdrawal.

I feel bad for the Palestinians sometimes, then I remember that they're reaping what they've sown. They glorified brutal terrorist groups, they allowed their children to blow themselves up in the name of Allah, they've "elected" people like Hamas to represent them. But there is no effort whatsoever to change or to better themselves. This is the result of their "resistance."

I too hope Israel won't let the Palestinians seek refuge in their borders. But the Israelis are often too nice for their own good. And in a really wierd way, that's why I admire them so.

We've got front row seats on the next world war unless we act decisively. Sad, but we've no leaders who are capable of acting decisively. We do have leaders who would act out of fear though.

The Fartah - Hamass Agreement:

Based on the noble initiative announced by... King Abdallah Bin-Abd-al-Aziz, king of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia... Palestinian dialogues of accord and agreement were held in holy Mecca between Fatah and HAMAS... 6-8 February 2007. And with God's help, these dialogues achieved success, as agreement was reached on the following:

First, stressing the sanctity of Palestinian blood and taking all steps to prevent bloodshed.
It is God who grants success.

I'm pretty happy with what God is allowing now, in regard to these.

Zombie is Funny. The subject is Funny, and not. It is a huge problem in the Mid East.

I mentioned before I grew up in Iran. The Shah had the "White Revolution." This included major agricultural reforms, he ended the tenant farmer system, by removing the large land owners and giving each farmer what he could farm. Farming was by hand with ox pulled wooden plow.

He also set up each village with shared equipment, tractors and implements, water pumps etc... However the old "commons problem" of collectivism reared it's head. Individuals instead of using the tools to improve yield would take parts off the stuff and sell it in town for an immediate profit.

I've heard similiar stories from everywhere in the 3rd world.

How desperate and ignorant does one have to be to "loot" scrap metal?

They will rip apart their infrastructure to gain a few shekels.

It's like the greenhouses all over again.

But seriously, to whom are they selling this scrap metal? Is there an "Achmed's Gaza Recycling Center and Bomb Workshop" somewhere?

That's what caught my eye too. People who loot scrap metal in my neck of the woods are invariably drug addicts.

When I read this looting bit, I pictured someone sitting in the middle of the chaos, starving, a perfect target. But hey! he had a nice looted chair to sit in.

Almost all of those terrorist groups are factions of Moslem Brotherhood.

#43 jcm - Just thought you might want to put an asterisk into that post, to the effect that a MAJOR reason why the Pali's aren't running to:

Syria,
Jordan,
Lebanon or
Eygpt.
is because none of those countries will take them in. Jordan actually kicked most of them out of Jordan right after Jordan was founded in 1948.
The Palestinians are neither liked nor respected in the Arab world at all. If they were, Jordan not only would not have kicked out those they didn't use the Jordanian Legion to kill, and Egypt woudn't have put up a fence and military units to deter entry, but Jordan and Egypt (as well as Lebanon and Syria) would have offered them sufficient land for there to be a Palistinian homeland. The Arabs HATE the Palestinians. Period.

So now there is going to be a real tent-based refugee camp on the Israeli side of the border? Left there to fester against Hamas?

Heh. House them in Siderot. Unfortunately, it wouldn't stop Hamas from shooting, and you know what would happen, there would be missiles launched *from* these tents back against Hamas, but also forward further into Israel.

I know that Israelis like to have peaceful relations when they can with many Palestinians, and that many Palestinians are victims from both sides, and that this leads to overly accomodating behavior by the Israelis that seems so mystifying from a distance. But one has to wonder if either side is ever going to learn anything at all.

Apparently making money is evil to islamists unless they are getting it to carry out Mo's calling. Of course that is what controlling oppression is all about...keep the general population poor and scared.

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, "Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God."

Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind.

As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.

Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD.

May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.

Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD— that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

As of this morning, via the AFP:

All crossings into the Gaza Strip have been closed indefinitely after Islamist group Hamas seized full control of the territory, the Israeli army said on Friday.

"The crossings are closed until further notice. There are constantly security assessments," an army spokesperson said.

Both the Erez crossing to Israel and the Rafah border terminal with Egypt are currently shut down. So currently, they made the bed, they are lying in it, and mommy won't change the sheets.

As I write, fresh news arrives—evidence of the fulfillment of one martyr’s hope. An Israeli doctor and his twenty-year-old daughter have this day been blown up together in a café, where they had gone for a father-daughter talk on the eve of the young woman’s marriage. She had been devoting her year of national service to the care of children with cancer; her ambition was to study medicine for the sake of such children. Her father was an eminent and remarkable physician, the tireless head of a hospital emergency room which tends the victims of terror attacks. He had just returned from the United States, where he was instructing American doctors in the life-saving emergency techniques he had pioneered. If anything, the gaz/west bank split proves the lie that there is any such thing as a palestinain nationanlity. The gazans are of the same ethnic mix and closer in all essential ways to the egyptians, and the west bankers an amalgam of west asian arabs.

Its quite funny the way the arab league is panicking and trying ot get them to reconsitute theri 'palestinian' nationality.

The genocidal anti-Jewsih weapon they created has fallen apart, and they want it back together again, asap.

The danger now is that the trojan horse that is fatah will get all the bucks and int'l support, create a statelet of sorts on the 'west bank', prove non-viable in the fullness of time, and then seek, with pressure from that very same int'l community, fedetation with Israel as a single state.

'They have proven they are peaceful, and they are no danger to you. Besides, an stae based on a single religion is unfiar, and anachronistic, perhaps even 'racist'. Come on, Israel, federate!' the belgians and Norwegians and Jimmy Carter will say, and the State Dept will agree, and that will be the beginning of the death spiral of Israel. Without a bang, and the 4th largest nuclear arsenal in the world will be useless.

Now is the time to let Abbas and fatah twist in the wind. let the west bank fall apart, and let the same running arabs head to the Jordanian border.

I'm dreaming. Nothing of the sort will happen, unfortunately. Peres and Olmert will see 'opportunities' here to advance the 'peace process'.

So will these refugees from the official Refugee Camp ever be granted a right of return so that they can go back to demanding a Right of Return?

#7If all this wasn't so tragic, it would be funny.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the tragedy. Enjoy. This can only get better.

One minute, screaming "Kill the Jews."
The next, fleeing to them for sanctuary.
The madness never ends.

Of course they'll go back to that Islamic paradise and demand the "right to return" from the Jooos. I mean, the Joos have been persecuting and humiliating the Palestinians for years and years and years.

The Islamic Paradise that has been set up in Gaza is wonderful - great healthcare (when you get transferred to Israel for Jew doctors to care for you), education by Mickey Mouse, a quick and painless death (by being thrown off a building). We in the Western World should only be so lucky.

(do I need to include the sarcasm thingie?)

Seriously love the question - nice and confusing as all questions about the Middle East are.

Obviously, "hip" is "hep" -- it is simply a matter of pronunciation, and pronunciation then influenced the later written form. No Jew or Israel supporter should ever use "hip hip hurray."

I don't think I've ever said "Hip, Hip, Hurray!" in my entire 55 years on this planet. In my circles, such an expression would be considered hopelessly hokey.

Nonetheless, if HEP stood for some Roman insult to the Jews, its meaning has long since been lost in modern usage. Still, let the term be forgotten.

But "hip" being insulting because it sounds similar to HEP? I don't think so. No offense to tender sensibilities, but it's possible to be too tender.
