Palestinians Loot Israel Border Crossing

Sun, Jun 17, 2007 at 10:39:17 am PDT

Yesterday we posted that very revealing photo of Palestinians running from Gaza into Israel; unsurprisingly, media have been either ignoring or downplaying the story, as Newsbusters notes. It doesn’t fit the template to report Palestinians seeking sanctuary in Israel.

Today the Palestinians are back at the Erez border crossing, but this time they’re not fleeing.

They’re looting.

Expect this to get even less media attention.

“Hey Ahmed, how many Qassam rockets can we get out of this panel?”

Those metal panels can be made into nice Qassam rockets.

Actually there are still about 150 Palestinian Arabs asking to enter Israel. Israel had a list of high ranking Fatah members including fighters whom Abu Mazen is interested in their well being. They were allowed to cross and were taken to Ramallah, there they are staying at five star hotels. They are called "heroes" sarcastically. In the meantime the foot soldiers, abandoned by their commanders, are left to fend for themselves against the Hamas. It really shows what a bunch of scumbags the Fatah are even to their own.

They also looted the head from their own "Unknown Soldier" statue....
Yahoo pic

Palestinians gather around the remains of the statue of The Unknown Soldier after it was brought down by Palestinian militants in Gaza City, Sunday, June 17, 2007. Militants tore down Gaza's unknown soldier early Sunday morning, smashing the statue's head, and dumping the fiberglass remains in the Strip's main square....The statue's location was a popular place for militant press conferences, where lovers secretly met and men smoked water pipes in the evening.

Hmmm.... This photo is taken from further down the path. In yesterday's photo there was no roofing material visible, so I suspect the looting started before today.

From the looks of that passage, Israel could build a concrete wall (6-8 feet high) at each end and fill it with water, alligators, and pirhana.

Let's give a call out to another one of the Bush Stupid Generals. Pace stands out of course, with Myers as the antithesis of what a general should be and it surely does not auger well for our future security. But apropos to this caption, say hello to LT.GEN.KEITH DAYTON. He was and is the American general responsible for training and arming the Palestinian Presidential Guard. Responsible for this border crossing vis a vis the Palestinians. He even urged, i.e. pressured the Israelis to allow free passage between the West Bank and Gaza. Fortunately, the Israelis bucked the Stupid Americans on this point. THIS IS OUR MILITARY. GET IT? AND OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF APPOINTS THEM. GET IT? And his is the joker who is responsible for all of our arms ending up in the hands of Hamas. He was responsible for training the Abbas forces. HE IS A COMPLETE FAILURE BUT HE IS STILL THERE.

I'm curious. How much of our military strength and deterrence do you Republicans really want to destroy with losers like these? Suck ups like these? Keep electing the follower Republicans and we'll find out. Keep criticizing Democrats for calling the Paces of this world incompetent, when they clearly are. Keep avoiding reality and tow the Republican line. And then watch us lose big time. The smart generals have bailed. We could have prevailed in Iraq. But not with Stupids in charge. Not with Republicans in charge.

54 CommonCents  Sun, Jun 17, 2007 12:14:20pm

My guess is Hamas wants their gunmen to be able to target those who flee from an elevated position. But funny enough, doesn't the fact they are stealing the sheet metal require the loss of a hand and a foot from opposite sides.

That would kind of put a crimp (or limp) in being a militant.

Apparently, that tunnel magically passes from Gaza directly to the West Bank! (Reported by one of my favorites, the Gateway Pundit.)

Caption from MannImages:

Palestinians wait as they try to cross into the West Bank at the Erez Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, June 16, 2007.

(New images have bumped it from the front page => hit NEXT to get to the images of the magic tunner.)

Now, that's a very inventive way to explain how Paleostinians can escape Gaza w/o seeking refuge in the very seat of the evil Zionist empire.

are you man or woman? I loved the link to your web page...at least my first cursory pages of it..made me smile.

69 sandrine  Sun, Jun 17, 2007 1:52:37pm

BabbaZee
Your link further supports my evil Republican Baker thesis. Baker is our worst nightmare because he hides his anti Israel, anti-semitic idealogy behind a veneer of civil respectability. Baker is the voice of the elite Republicans (especially the oil lobby) who manipulate the masses with pumped up rhetoric, but secretly support corrupt policies designed to enrich themselves at our expense. To say nothing of policies that make us vulnerable. Gates is a Baker man. Bush's father is clearly a Baker man. And Bush, the son, manages to make us weakest of all by not only being stupid as to policy...not only being stupid as to strategy...but also by incorporating the worst of Bakerism into his current foreign policy fiasco. This again supports my view that Republicans pose the biggest danger to the United States.

70 sandrine  Sun, Jun 17, 2007 1:56:08pm

OK Charles...how about a post on General Dayton?
And more importantly, who he gets his marching orders from.

71 sandrine  Sun, Jun 17, 2007 2:02:04pm

Remember, Republicans gave us Dubai Ports...the plan to have a questionable ally that still supports a boycott of Israel, perhaps future enemy, on the inside of important infrastructure in the U.S. and privy to our intelligence....sort of like arming Fatah and giving them weapons and intelligence...only for it to be transferred into enemy hands. If you forget this, you are doomed to repeat it.

72 sandrine  Sun, Jun 17, 2007 2:23:21pm

And Condi Rice is a Baker woman who is also a suck up third rate bureaucrat who was nurtured through Republican ranks only to embarrass every American with her personal brand of stupidity and fecklessness. They are all alike...the Republican General Paces', the General Myers,' the Condi Rices' and lest we forget, the good, credible Republican,Bob Gates of the Baker Commission. These are the folks running our country and making us vulnerable to our enemies...by putting their stupidity on view for the world to see.

I understand he is Defense Minister. But he apparently took his post much sooner than Peretz expected. And with Olmert in Washington and Livni soon off on a trip, he'll be in charge temporarily. Plus it appears that his opinion is valued given his military service and past experience as Prime Minister. Interesting scenario.

Ah, BabbaZee......I know he's okay.....all the reports say no one was hurt at all.........but, I was kind of hoping for some kind of report --some hopeful thing, maybe, that we wouldn't hear about except from someone there like he is.....or, even, I guess, a confirmation that there isn't much hope of stopping the "steamroller" there.....? ):

Kids, he said.

They will be assimilated into the cult soon enough and be "organized" as well..
