Islamic Rage Photo of the Day

Mon, Jun 25, 2007 at 1:28:27 pm PDT

Smell the rage.

Activists from the Islamic parties chant slogans against British author Salman Rushdie during a protest in Lahore June 25, 2007. A group of hardline Pakistani Muslim clerics has bestowed a religious title on Osama bin Laden in response to a British knighthood for the Rushdie, whose novel “The Satanic Verses” outraged many Muslims around the world. The placard reads “Salman Rushdie dead.” REUTERS/Moshin Raza (PAKISTAN)

UPDATE at 6/25/07 2:19:36 pm:

An Arabic reader emailed to let us know that the placard in the picture above does not say “Salman Rushdie dead.” The top line says, “Curse Salman Rushdie,” and the bottom line, “Duty to kill.”

Islamic Rage Boy is a natural showman. It is a real tragedy that he did not grow up in a secular country. He could have been a great heavy-metal singer or something.

Are we all willing to bet that none of them has even read the book and that all of them are reacting because they were told to?

Whenever a movie or book draws condemnation from Christian groups, I read carefully to find out why. Unless I know I'm going to hate the work anyway ("Brokeback Mountain," for example), I see it for myself.

Even if I agree that something is awful, I can't think of a time when a Christian protest called for the artist's death.

58 EE  Mon, Jun 25, 2007 1:46:33pm

I hope that newspapers around the world will praise the courage that Sir Salman Rushdie has shown, in speaking his conscience concerning his religious beliefs. He really does deserve the support of the entire free world.

The UK has knighted him.

What have other countries done to show their appreciation of Sir Salman's courage and contribution to freedom of expression and freedom of religious conscience?

It would be nice if awards could be given to him, and if awards could be made in his honor.

I know that this annoys the religious psychopaths, but freedom of expression and freedom of religious conscience are important values of the free world, and these have to be defended or we risk losing them.

video:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Volunteers to Serve as Human Shield at Natanz Nuclear Facilities

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Two or three months ago, in order to intimidate the Iranian people, the [Americans] began psychological warfare and propaganda, using military threats. One time they said that at 5 AM on a specific morning, 100 sites in Iran would be bombed. Another time they said that the Zionist regime was planning to target the Natanz nuclear facilities. Some people came to me and said: "Sir, we must do something. At the very least, we must take some action." I said: Rest assured that they will not dare to do this. They don't understand anything. They think they can intimidate the Iranian people with this talk.

If your nonsense had any effect, it would have been evident here. When you declared that you were planning to attack here, the little children in the streets of Natanz laughed at you, and made jokes about you. Some people said to me: "This is impossible. We find it difficult to believe what you say. What shall we do if they attack us?" I said to them: Don't worry, my dears. If it helps you calm down, ask them just when they are planning to attack, and I myself will go to the people of Natanz, and we will sit down together in the nuclear facilities, and if they want to attack, they will have to attack us first.

In contrast, I remember, years back, a group of Christians (I seem to recall that they were Catholic clergy. . .but this was so long ago) standing outside the movie theater protesting the release of the movie "Last Temptation of Christ".

There were maybe a dozen, standing silently, smiling, holding signs that said stuff like "Jesus loves you" and "Christ wasn't a sinner". Looked like they wouldn't hurt a fly.

I actually felt kind of bad for them.

*Loved* the movie, by the way (and I think it had a very positive message), though I could see how it could be offensive if you were a Christian fundamentalist.

Now compare this to these foaming Islamists. . .

123 lobo91  Mon, Jun 25, 2007 2:07:14pm

Well, it looks like things are looking up in Diyala Province, not that you'd know it from the MSM. Michael Yon's latest dispatch is up.

I particularly like his description of the "Sharia courts" established by the so-called Islamic State in Iraq:

Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) had tarnished its name here by publicly attacking and murdering children, videotaping beheadings, all while imposing harsh punishments on Iraqi civilians found guilty of violating morality laws prohibiting activities like smoking. The AQI installed Sharia court had sanctioned the amputation of the two “smoking fingers” for those who violated anti-smoking laws. In part because local sentiment was shifting against it, AQI synthesized with other groups and undertook an image makeover, christening itself “The Islamic State of Iraq.” But the new name was just lipstick on a pig here.

Other AQI edicts included beatings for men who refused to grow beards, and corporal punishments for obscene sexual suggestiveness, defined by such “loose” behavior as carrying tomatoes and cucumbers in the same bag.

Okay, that last bit is too bizarre even for Islamists...

If you want to see the shithole up close, check out the scenes they filmed in Pakistan in the movie "A Mighty Heart". It's worse than you can imagine. I think it was filmed in smellavision. During the movie all I kept saying was thank God I live in America.

One day Muslims will realize that free bad publicity is a whole lot better than no publicity. Nobody would have heard about or read the book if there was no death threat. Looks like Satanic Verses may go into its 92nd reprinting before the month is over.

Rushdie owes his livelihood to those who want to kill him. Laughing all the way to the bank.

I hope Muslims keep hammering on Salman Rushdie until the Pope bestows Sainthood on him.

That photo would make a great third World deordorant commercial. Caption: "Use Osama deodorant and mouthwash to protect your virginity." And you wonder why they have to have arranged marriages in that part of the planet.

#131 - reminds me of a story:

A jihadi from Pakistan is imprisoned at Gitmo. Shortly thereafter, he begins to fall ill.

He goes to see a Muslim doctor with his complaints.

The doctor gives him a bucket and says "Instead of using your toilet, just use this bucket. Then, put your head in the bucket for five minutes, three times a day, and inhale deeply."

The prisoner does what he is told.

A week later his illness clears up.

He goes to see the doctor and says, "Doctor, you have cured me! I feel so much better now! But tell me, what was wrong with me?"

The doctor replies: "You were homesick."

More Middle East Madness

"The Palestinian people will never forgive the Hamas gangs for looting the home of the Palestinian people's great leader, Yasser Arafat." So Palestinian Authority spokesman Abdel Rahman recently exclaimed. "This crime will remain a stain of disgrace on the forehead of Hamas and its despicable gangs."

Looting? Crime? Despicable gangs?

Excuse me. For years, Palestinian Authority-sanctioned gangs shot and tortured dissidents, glorified suicide bombing against Israel and in general thwarted any hopes of various "peace processes."

In the last 20 years, we've sent billions in aid to the Arab world. We've saved Muslims from Bosnia to Kuwait. We've removed dangerous thugs in Afghanistan and Iraq, fostering democracies in their place. We've opened our borders to immigrants from the Middle East. We've paid billions of dollars in inflated oil prices. All the while, many in the West have wrongly blamed themselves for the conditions in the Middle East.

It's past time for Middle Easterners to fix their own self-inflicted mess. In the meantime, the U.S. and its allies should help as we can — but first protect ourselves from them as we must.

Sunday's sermon was Jesus confronting the demonic man that had thousands of demons in him. Much like these fellows, the demon possessed man would froth at the mouth and throw his body on the ground... Jesus said "What is your name?" The demonic man answered... "Legion, for there are many". Jesus ordered the demons to come out of the man and they entered a herd of swine and ran off a cliff. The man became human and resumed a normal life.
Don't think demon possession exists today? Look at these faces.
And wouldn't you love to see Jesus step in front of this group and reenact the same scenario? It's basically the same thing, only in modern times.

#201 - Even Arabic and Farsi - being neighbor languages have different letters - Farsi has 3 more than Arabic - as well as other script differences. And while they do look alike, they diverge quickly on the actual words used. That's why I was taught Syrian/Lebonese dialect and others Egyptian and others Iraqi... Pakistan is FAR removed from the standard Arab lands and 3 distinct languages apart - Arabic -> Farsi -> Pashtu -> Urdu.

Something went wrong between the 17th century and now, and even though a lot of the Muslim countries get billions in free money every year due to their oil, they piss it all away on religious activities and extravagant consumption. WASHINGTON, June 24: The US security officer who investigated the Daniel Pearl murder case absolves al-Fuqra leader Sheikh Gilani of involvement in the murder of the American journalist.

In a highly unusual move, the US State Department posted an interview with the officer, Randall Bennett, on the front page of its website this weekend. Mr Bennett was the US Regional Security Officer in Karachi during the time Mr Pearl was kidnapped and later murdered in 2002.

The interview coincided with the release of a film “A Mighty Heart,” which depicts the kidnapping and murder of the Wall Street Journal reporter.

“Sheikh Omar, who has quite a history involved in the kidnapping – the hijacking of airplanes out of India and affiliations with various hardcore jihadi organisations – had very carefully plotted and planned this kidnapping of Danny,” said Mr Bennett.

“He had set it up where he had given Danny information and promised this interview with Sheikh Gilani. Sheikh Gilani, as it turned out, had no idea his name was even being used.”

Mr Bennett said that Sheikh Omar used the interview to bait Daniel Pearl. “He would throw the bait out and he would reel it back in. So over a period of two weeks, Danny was enticed and then lost the opportunity for the interview.”

The US officer said Mr Pearl had been looking forward to this interview because it was a very “hot item.”

The so-called shoe-bomber, Richard Reed, who tried to bomb a Chicago-bound plane in 2002 with explosives hidden in his shoes, dominated the US media in those days and Mr Pearl hoped to get some exclusive information about the bomber from this interview.“So when it came time, after two weeks of baiting and switching, Danny was at the Metropol Hotel standing outside the Village restaurant. His meeting was at 1900 hours, 7:00 pm. At 1911, he received a phone call. The phone call lasted till 1916.

“So in those five minutes, the investigation later revealed that Sheikh Omar, who was using the name of Bashir at this time, told Danny that ‘I’m sorry, he cannot come to see you again.’ This was maybe the sixth or seventh time they had baited and switched Danny on a meeting.

“They said, ‘He just cannot get away and we’ve tried and tried and it just hasn’t worked out. If you want the interview, he’s at the madrasah. We’ll pick you up and bring you here and then we’ll take you back, but he’s not going to be able to come and see you there,’” said Mr Bennett.

He said Mr Pearl had asked him earlier if he could go to a madressah to interview Sheikh Gilani, as his fixer had suggested and “I told him that that was definitely a no-go.”

He said he explained to Mr Pearl that all madressahs were essentially in dangerous locations. They typically had affiliations to the more radical elements. And for Mr Pearl to go to one of those meant he would be completely cut off from his communication and any safe haven or recourse.

“And I guess at that moment, Danny had a tough decision to make and he made the decision that he was going to go and do the interview.”

Mr Bennett said that during the same period three other American citizens were also kidnapped in Karachi and his team and the Karachi Citizen-Police Liaison Committee were able to recover each of them within 24 hours.

But they could not recover Mr Pearl because they learned about it 12 hours after the kidnapping, which gave the kidnappers the time to take Mr Pearl out of the city.

In the interview, Mr Bennett also explains how they detained Sheikh Omar’s relatives in Karachi and Rawalpindi to force him to surrender.

Ultimately, Sheikh Omar surrendered to a relative, a retired intelligence officer, in Lahore who gave him to police after 15 days “and of course, we let (Sheikh Omar’s) family go back to their house immediately.”

Southernborn, the Muslims had a great empire centuries ago, while Europeans were living in huts. The Persians nearly overthrew Europe, and ruled Spain for a long time. Much of their technology and engineering can be found throughout Spain today. Algebra is an arab term. So what happened? Bernard Lewis wrote a great book "What Went Wrong?" that talks about the sad developments in the Muslim world since then. They now believe that the West and modernity are corrupt and should be avoided - they're allowed to buy technology, but they aren't interested in participating it its development. Religion and its extreme interpretation has ruined the once great Persian Empire. They're still very proud of their great achievements 500 years ago, but they don't like being reminded that they haven't done much since. If they can't be persuaded that modernity is good for them and the rest of the world, we'll unfortunately have to have many more Iraqs. jackflash

Imagine all of the productive things these people could do if only they used this rage and energy on useful projects, like building infrastructure or developing their economies. It's sad to see such waste - it's not unlike the kids who operate in gangs in my city. If they could just focus on productive activities, they'd move the world and save their lives. Something went wrong between the 17th century and now, and even though a lot of the Muslim countries get billions in free money every year due to their oil, they piss it all away on religious activities and extravagant consumption. If Mohammed were here today, I'd bet he'd kick some serious imam butt.

You're kidding, right? Muhammad was a lazy bum. He spent his days in a cave and neglected his kids and wife, Khadijah. He talked to his imaginary friend, Allah, while the fortune that his wife had worked to accumulate slowly dried up. His wife was the hard worker. She was the bread winner in the family. All Muhammad did to acquire his wealth was through warfare and looting. He wasn't a hard worker; he was a lazy ass.

Once upon a time, Mohammed came upon a valley of date farmers. He studied it for a day thinking about becoming a farmer. The next morning he got up and said "Aw, fuck it" and murdered all the farmers and farm workers and sacked the valley for supplies.

While it would be selfish to leave these people living in such misery and ignorance, if we could go whole hog drilling and refining, and using coal instead of diesel power plants in places like Alaska, we could really dry up the money that allows such a backwards and barbaric culture to influence us.

Oh yeah, we would have to stop allowing them into the country too, which liberals will never agree to, as anyone NOT a white, heterosexual Christian male is their busom buddy.

#240 jackflash.

You might want to check some of your facts.

There are 6th century cathedrals in Europe (100 years before Mohammad) that are hardly huts, and one would be hard pressed to call the Parthenon or the Coliseum huts. And they were around centuries and centuries before Islam.

The Persians did almost conquer Greece, but were repelled in 479 BC. That is about 1000 years before Mohammad was born. Islam did not exist. The Persians were not Muslims at that time.

ANd the Persians did not conquer Spain. Arab Muslims did, around 700 AD. In the century following Mohammad's death, Muslims conquered and conquered and conquered. What is today Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Jordon, Israel, Egypt, and all across north Africa to Spain all fell to jihad.

AND I'll go all y'all one better. Whaddabout this - in late May/early June three years ago I helped a friend move out of his place across the street from a Yeshiva in Belmar, NJ. Some testosterone kicked in and the kids started making a bit of noise. The local Police showed up and we sat back and giggled about the headline that should have been in the Asbury Park Press - "BELMAR BULLS BUST BUCHER BOYS", WHEN YOU SEE "Rage Boy", think of that 'cause that's all they are 'til and unless they are handed an AK-47!
