-RetweetKos Kids vs. Mama Moonbat

Thu, Jul 12, 2007 at 7:59:38 am PDT

Cindy Sheehan’s decision to run against Nancy Pelosi has fractured her base of moonbat support. She’s been kicked out of the Daily Kos, because she doesn’t meet their Democrat test of purity any more, and now the Kidz are posting rueful farewells to their former icon of absolute moral authority: Daily Kos: Cindy Has Changed, Not Us.

Unfortunately the power of your message declined the more you saw yourself as a leader of a larger political movement.

And this is capped off by the incredibly condescending statement today:

Please understand that I am doing it for your children and grandchildren (and my surviving ones).
In other words, our analysis isn’t valued (not really sure why you asked for our feedback in the beginning then). Many of us believe that you are both unqualified to be a Congressperson and your strategy of challenging Pelosi is unwise politically.  But according to you, we simply don’t understand that you’re doing it for “our children.”

That is the arrogance of someone who believes their own hype.  That is the condescension of someone who believes they are larger, better, smarter than everyone else.  That is the condescension we never saw when you were establishing Camp Casey.

Sadly, and respectfully, it’s you who have changed, not us.  I’ll always be grateful for the sacrifices you have made, but I can’t support your misguided effort here - and in particular after I see the superiority and condescension of your statement today.

This will no doubt crush her fragile psyche. If something should happen to her now the Kos Kiddies will have it on there hands. She is unstable already and to lose her last real friends may be more then she can bear.
BTW how is that walk going?

Charles I wish you had posted that incredibly condescending statement. I really hate to go to KOS and I would love to read it!

Apparently there are at least a few at KOS that are not completely over the bend.

11 Killgore Trout  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 8:05:52am

I've been watching the Koskidz turn on her over the past few days. In a way it's kind of sad. She's mentally ill and live without the attention and adoration which is quickly waning. I predict some very unhappy times for her in the future.

Cindy who?

13 Jehu  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 8:06:16am
That is the condescension we never saw when you were establishing Camp Casey.

That's funny cause everyone that was not a moonbat saw her sefl righteous preening from day one. Only thing important to Cindy was what came out of her womb, her world was never any bigger.

Something about this flaccid woman always stunk.

She’s been kicked out of the Daily Kos, because she doesn’t meet their Democrat test of purity any more

So when she praised the people who actually killed Casey as "freedom fighters", that was okey-dokey with Kos. Ditto when she hugged Hugo Chavez, and cheered on the islamthugs in Tehran. But challenge Democractic Party orthodoxy? BURN THE WITCH!

21 Pawn of the Oppressor  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 8:08:29am
Many of us believe that you are both unqualified to be a Congressperson

I received a fortune cookie once that said "The simplest and most necessary truths are often the last believed." I taped that fortune to my desk as a reminder.

Just like that Rolling Stone article about the failures of the "protest" movement last month, it always amazes me when lefties discover the most basic, fundamental truths about human nature for the first time, as if it's some kind of dramatic revelation.

Cindy Sheehan is a condescending, blinkered, permanently adolescent, borderline psychotic, pompous fool? Who knew?

...Besides everybody who isn't drinking the ranting leftist kool-aid, I mean.

That is the condescension we never saw when you were establishing Camp Casey.

BS - that condenscension was always there, you just fell for it at the time KosKids. You created this monster, now you have to put up with it like everyone else. It was the progressives media blitz that catapulted her into the spotlight, now with the handlers gone, Sheehan has finally gone off the reservation.

Let's see, this whole situation either proves they were dupes who feel for her crazy stance before, or they are only interested in winning elections and don't care about issues they promoted in the past. Either way, this reflect poorly on the so-called progressive movement.

OT: Most of these taxi drivers in Oslo were Pakistanis and other Muslims:

[Link: www.aftenposten.no...]

Signs of widespread corruption among Oslo's taxi operators keep spreading, with drivers and taxi owners suspected of fleecing both their passengers and the city's social welfare system.
Hundreds of Oslo taxi drivers are suspected of widespread cheating and tax evasion.

A series of articles in Aftenposten has highlighted questionable practices among drivers suspected of underreporting income, charging excessive fares and engaging in welfare fraud.

Tax authorities believe that more than 900 taxi owners and drivers have operated in the so-called black market, failing to report all the money they're taking in, in order to lower their tax liability.

At the same time, more than 500 of these alleged tax cheats have been collecting welfare payments to which they weren't entitled. Welfare agency officials believe the alleged swindling has cost the city of Oslo more than NOK 100 million.

"This is without doubt the biggest swindling case we've seen within a single industry," Magne Fladby of the social welfare agency NAV told Aftenposten.

New evidence indicates some taxi drivers have also altered the meters in their cars, in order to register much larger tip income. Printed receipts have been thrown in the garbage, to destroy evidence.

"This is pure tax fraud," said Erik Bergendahl, who has sold, installed and maintained taxi meters for 10 years.

Oslo police, tax authorities and welfare officials are investigating the allegations against taxi drivers. Charges have already been brought against nearly 100 drivers and owners and Justice Minister Knut Storberget promises a crackdown, with possible seizure of taxi drivers' property.

Rotterdam is considering deploying female police officers in civilian clothes as bait for boys that harass girls and young women. Coalition Labour (PvdA) party and opposition leader Liveable Rotterdam (LR) are agreed on the measure, according to newspaper De Telegraaf.

Rotterdam police have already deployed female officers dressed as prostitutes to catch men who approach streetwalkers in locations where this is forbidden. The city council now also wants to deploy young female agents in the city centre to combat intimidation and sexual violence against ordinary girls and women because they are increasingly often harassed by immigrant youths. Last Saturday, two girls were beaten up by a group of Moroccans in the city centre after they protested against being called whores, according to regional media in the Rotterdam area.

LR and PvdA are known as arch-enemies, but now appear to be making a joint plea for plainclothes policewomen as bait. LR council member Hennie van Schaik wants them "to immediately collar creeps that make improper remarks." Rotterdam PvdA leader Peter van Heemst support this initiative, according to De Telegraaf. He says many women and girls feel intimidated on the street.

re: #17 DesertSage

Oh yes. It is the pot/kettle thing being posted.

A rightist believes the individual knows best what is good for him. The leftist believes the individual's betters (usually themselves) know best what is good for him.

Rightists are therefore better equipped for retaining respect for someone who thinks things should be done differently.

When leftists disagree, each cannot believe (!) the other can't see it is better for the other to do it their way.

From the idiot's FAQ:

This is a Democratic blog, a partisan blog. One that recognizes that Democrats run from left to right on the ideological spectrum, and yet we're all still in this fight together. We happily embrace centrists like NDN's Simon Rosenberg and Howard Dean, conservatives like Martin Frost and Brad Carson, and liberals like John Kerry and Barack Obama. Liberal? Yeah, we're around here and we're proud. But it's not a liberal blog. It's a Democratic blog with one goal in mind: electoral victory. And since we haven't gotten any of that from the current crew, we're one more thing: a reform blog. The battle for the party is not an ideological battle. It's one between establishment and anti-establishment factions. And as I've said a million times, the status quo is untenable

Mama Moonbat bucked the democrat "establishment" and they smacked her down for it.

Iraq Report: Al Qaeda in the Northern Villages

As Operations Phantom Thunder pushes forward in Baghdad and the Belts, U.S. and Iraqi forces attacked and killed an al Qaeda team attempting to take control of a rural Kurdish village in Diyala. Meanwhile, with critics claiming the U.S. is too al Qaeda focused in its operations, Iraqi and U.S. forces put a significant dent in the Mahdi Army over the past several days.

US Congress to Hold Hearing on Jewish Refugees From Arab States

The July 19 congressional hearing on Jewish refugees has an immediate, practical goal of providing US congressmen with preliminary information ahead of voting on House Resolution 185 and Senate Resolution 85. According to the proposed legislation, the US president would be obligated to instruct all official representatives of the United States that "explicit reference to Palestinian refugees be matched by a similar explicit reference to Jewish and other refugees, as a matter of law and equity." (See Senate Res 85 for the full text.)

James Baker will veto it, of course...

This is unfortunate, really. If the motivated base of the Democrat Party, the ones that control the primaries, had abandoned Stretch for Mama Moonbat because Blinky wasn't liberal enough, it might have led to some seriously interesting Democrat candidates.

Recall that the Dems basically captured the House by finding people like Heath Schuler who pretended not to be full fledged libtard Democrats, and who would keep the San Francisco whacko types like Pelosi from running amok. If the Dem base got enough Kos endorsed flaming American haters nominated in key state and federal races, it would improve the chances that the Repubs recapture Congress.

Now, I'm not happy with the RINO and surrender Republicans like Domenici, Hagel, Snowe, Collins, Spectre*, or the open borders but at least right on Iraq quasi-RINOs like Graham and McCain, but the Republicans are, by default, far more qualified to run this country.

Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it... All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children."

re: #66 John Schneider

I completely agree. The only point I'm trying to make on this is that the idiot is pushing an anti-establishment vs. establishment agenda, but forgot that his party is now part of the establishment and they slapped her down for it. The last thing I'd do is keep that statement in the FAQ when it no longer applies. His site is now the site of the established authority. He needs to act like it. But he should change that FAQ

That's no surprise. Getting a fair rate for taxis in Dubai last week was a study in thievery. I knew how much it cost to go from one place to another, having been in other metered cabs in the city, and most of these bastards would see me and try to charge 4 or 5 times that amount.

You would tell them waht it really costs, and they would say "no it dosen't! any meterd cab would cost you ___!" even though I knew it was a lie.

There was only one way to negotiatie- yell "bullshit," (a word I used a lot over there). threaten not to pay, and tell him you are going to call the cops.

Only then do they ask for the correct metered rate, I give them the money, and am on my way.

Those people have no compunctions about highway robbery... literally.
Hell; they are just following the example of their prohpet.

"Still, I think we can agree that, at a minimum, the opposite proposition—that inflationary policies promote employment growth in the long run—has been entirely discredited and, indeed, that policies based on this proposition have led to very bad outcomes whenever they have been applied."
– Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke speaking before the National Bureau of Economic Research earlier this week.

If Ben Bernanke is dissing the fossilized Phillips curve as a monetary indicator and as an inflation forecaster (as seems to be the case based on his remarks), well, that would be a very good thing indeed. More Americans heading off to work and prospering simply does not cause inflation.

Excess money created by the Fed causes inflation.

More on melamine: China gets dead serious about food safety, executes former food and drug chief (Source MeatingPlace.com)
By Tom Johnston on 7/10/2007 for Meatingplace.com

In perhaps a demonstration of how serious China is about shoring up the safety of its food products, Beijing executed the former head of its State Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday, the official Xinhua press agency reported.

Zheng Xiaoyu was sentenced to death May 29 for accepting bribes to approve untested medicine reportedly blamed for at least 10 deaths. A court carried out the execution Tuesday after China's Supreme Court rejected his final appeal, the International Herald Tribune reported.

Xinhua did not disclose how Zheng was killed, though IHT reported that the court police typically execute prisoners by shooting them in the back of the head, or in some cases by using lethal injections.

Zheng's execution was concurrent with a press conference at which China's top food and drug regulatory agencies vowed to crack down on counterfeit food and medicine. Beijing has been pressured to make vast improvements after a spate of health scares tied to sub-par products, including exports of tainted food and fake drugs.

"Corruption in the food and drug authority has brought shame to the nation," Yan Jiangying, deputy policy director of the State Food and Drug Administration, told reporters. "What we will have to learn from the experience is to improve our work and emphasize public safety."

Maybe I'll just show a little appreciation and move on... so ... gee, thanks.

That is the arrogance of someone who believes their own hype. That is the condescension of someone who believes they are larger, better, smarter than everyone else.

And believe me, if we know anything, we here at the Daily Kos know arrogance and condescension. Indeed, whether or not we know anything else is highly questionable!

166 cimom  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 9:38:49am

This is great! Maybe Sheehan will split the vote and the Republicans can get a chance to capture the seat.

Ok, not likely, but it's a happy thought. I'm still angry at the Republicans for refusing to support their last Senatorial candidate here in NY. He was a conservative, and he never got any real help from the party.

I think Soros is going to be p*ssed. Sheehan will have to watch her back if she gets all the moonbats angry enough.

OT to CHARLES:

Here's a challenge for you. Extend the capability of the "quote" button (the one next to "reply", not the one next to "link") such that a user can highlight the part of the comment he wishes to quote, and automatically add ellipses or [snip] to either end of it. Instead of getting the whole thing. Thus, we can have the functionality of quoting a comment without the unwielditude of grabbing people's entire epistles.

173 reallygone  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 9:47:25am

Cindy is today who she was when she started her protests. She is a liberal/progressive activist and supporter of the Democratic Party. She is not mentally ill, but she is seeking attention and takes great satisfaction in getting that attention.

Basically, she is selfish and aelf-aggrandizing like all progressives. How many times have you heard progressives say "we have to do it for the kids"? About every second paragraph!

Progressives, by nature, are elitist and believe that what they think is so overwelhmingly better than what you think, that you must be stupid to not recognize it. Thus, you need them to care for you. You know, a few laws, some regulations and restrictions. And, Lord knows, we can't let you keep too much of the money you earn, or you might waste it when it could be better spent on programs the progressives KNOW are right.

She is just an ordinary, run of the mill, Democrat. She is the female version of Ted Kennedy without the money, name, or experience. They think alike and have about the same mental candle-power. The gender makes littl difference (they even look a bit alike; same hairdo, same jowly face, and same "muffin-top").

You know how to highlight and do a Ctrl-C, then a Ctrl-V, and then stick the words "blockquote" and "/blockquote" inside the little carat things, right?

Or, just use the provided quote button, and highlight and delete the extraneous test.

Of course I do. I was just challenging Charles to do something fairly difficult, given that the highlighted (extracted) text might not include the trailing half of the blockquote sandwich(es). The user-additional text should be at the highest (non-blockquoted) level.

I see this all the time when people just simply cut and paste without paying attention to the sandwiching level.

Cindy's just the gift that keeps on giving. It amazes me that the KKK were not long ago saying that unless the Dem leadership impeached Bush/Cheney, they would turn on them. Which is exactly what Cindy is doing now. But the KKK doesn't want that to hurt the Female Joker, so they are turning on her. It makes my head hurt. I can't imagine how the Paragon of Absolut Moral Authority must feel.

203 Wolfman  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 1:05:14pm

I like how the author uses the word "condescending" 4 times, just to make sure that we, the proletariat, know that Ms. Sheehan's comments were indeed condescending.

I suppose my amusement comes from the fact that the implication here is that those of the democrat persuasion are NEVER condescending, and therefore Ms. Sheehan can not possibly count among them anymore.

Let's just ignore the author's comment in parenthesis: "not really sure why you asked for our feedback in the beginning then" because that must not be condescending at all, since it comes from a DailyKos netizen, and as we ALL know the Left is NEVER condescending.

Let's be honest: the left is intellectually bankrupt. They can't possibly see the humor that we, the enlightened few, see in Sheehan's defection from the Democrat party. They were perfectly comfortable with her artificially manufactured moral superiority while it served their purposes, but now that she is threatening to usurp power from the 'Crat's, she's persona-non-grata (I almost have half a mind to emigrate to San Francisco just so that I can vote for Sheehan, if only because it'll cheeze off the rank and file). In the process, they lob snippets of the left's craptacular brand of morality at each other, while totally marginalizing the absolute truth of the situation that the reasonably intelligent of us have already arrived at: there are a group of people willing to kill all of us, regardless of whom we vote for.

As far as Ms. Sheehan is concerned, I'm of the opinion that she hasn't done any actual thinking about the legacy of her son the hero since she buried him. She is so blinded by her own selfish interests that she has alienated even her staunchest supporters. Granted, in the wake of the Mark Foley "scandal", we found out how loyal the 'Crats are to their constituents. They blatantly left the gay lobby hanging in the wind while they clamored for their fake moral highground, just so they could point at Foley and wag their fingers saying, "tsk, tsk".

Should we expect anything less from the "feel good" party?

BWAHHHAAA! Now, that's a Democrat.

209 uncle_monkey  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 2:21:37pm

Time for her to go back to the outlet malls.

210 Wayne Clark  Thu, Jul 12, 2007 2:27:13pm

The "nutroots" are doing quite a good job of destroying their own party. Anyone remember Ellen Tauscher? [Link: www.washingtonpost.com...] Their dogmatic insistence that you must agree with all of their positions (and, as appears in this case, be a registered Democrat) to be a Democrat might well split the party.

It's amusing to me when the loony left devour their own. There is no honor among thieves and liars. You all deserve each other over there at koskidz. Probably too much to hope for. People won't get it and I'll just be PO'd about all the press she's getting.
