I know, Ted Rall. What’s left to say? He’s not really news any more, except when he excretes something even more disgusting than usual.

Pat Dollard posted this cartoon earlier today on his website, Patdollard.com, with, per usual, the following brilliant, spot-on analysis:
WHEN COWARDS TALK...
...you get communications like this cartoon. Not only has Ted Rall never displayed any notable courage in his life ( as the members of the U.S. military do on a daily basis )Ted has never served his country, never done the hard work to earn and preserve the blessings and freedoms he enjoys. The vernacular labels such a person a leech. Trust me, it’s not just politics that has his goat, but what you might call “man issues”. He belittles stronger and better men out of jealousy. It’s pretty common on the Left. Unable and too fearful to deal with the realm of physical confrontation, they absurdly argue that the world is a place in which common masculine virtues are unnecesary. Unable and unwilling to accept principles such as duty, honor and country, they also absurdly argue that the world is a place in which these virtues are also unneccesary. The thing is, Ted is not saying anything Leftists don’t all firmly think and believe in. But by definition, cowards will hide such thoughts for fear of being challenged. Good job, Ted, for this morning’s reminder of what Left America is all about.
It’s funny how a pansy like this calls himself the “hardest hitting” cartoonist, as if the mere metaphorical application of masculinity to himself meant he actually possesed it; as if he actually were “hard” and “tough”. Pretty funny. It’s the same with Leftists’ concepts of war - they are only interested in metaphorical ones in which celebrities lead the battle in designer garb on TV commercials. The latest “war” being on holes in the sky. Ted would like you to believe that smearing ink makes him hard. No Ted, you’re still just a little bitch.
I have a challenge for you, Ted: Go to Iraq and explain your cartoon directly to your betters, to those braver than you’ll ever be, and to those of a gender you clearly never have been, or ever will be. Go in fact, and make all your cases about Iraq.
Anyone who whips his ass will be a hero. I’d be glad to post the video

When Rall hates, it's not news. What would be news is if he actually liked something.
The following doesn't count in the like category: suicide bombers, terrorists, jihadis, and anti-war Leftists who have a fetish in seeing harm done to this country and openly root for the enemy.
He hates Americans who serve our nation and want to protect us from enemies who seek to do us harm. Indeed, he hates US. Those Americans include brothers and sisters, fathers and sons, friends and loved ones.

here is what what I have to deal with!
This Cartoon is brutally truthful. It's a wake up call, I can see why people are offended, it's simply because it's all true. So, be offended if you must, but then when you come down from being angry at the truth teller Rall, come to your senses and stop drinking the goddam koolaid. Your belligerent nationalism is not patriotism.

Rall is utter moron.
1) Not all soldiers are male.
2) Like Patton said, the goal is to make the other poor bastard die for his cause.
3) Not atheists in a foxhole, but I haven't too many soldiers on a mission from God, only their commanders.
4) Soldiers graduated HS and many NCO have bachelors or better.
5) Never sat through the legal and illegal orders classes.
6) The demographics of the military show otherwise.
7) 1st amendment jacka**.
8) Basic training deals with that PDQ.

Profile of a bitter small man who despises the real men of the US military.
Ted Rall's parents were divorced long before he started school, and he was raised by his French-speaking mother who taught him that America is always wrong . When young Rall started kindergarten, he barely spoke English so he was teased by his classmates, which made him bitter . His mother encouraged him to read the newspaper, so while other 5-year-olds were reading about Dick and Jane and having fun like normal children, Rall was reading about the Vietnam war and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy which made him appear even more weird to his classmates and accelerated the teasing. Rall was the frequent victim of swirlies and wedgies. He was especially drawn to the editorial cartoons, and started doodling his own because he had no friends. By the time he was 17, rather than having fun and chasing girls like normal adolescent males Rall was selling his cartoons to a local biweekly paper, The Kettering-Oakwood Times.

#10 WeaselZipper:
Holy cow, you weren't kidding. We talk about the bankruptcy of moral relativism, and it's still a smack in the face to hear people whose beliefs really are that pathetic. I plucked this little gem of idiocy almost at random.:
Are you kidding? Offensive? How? This is completely, objectively true. They're both human beings fighting for something they believe in (however wrong or confused). Unless you're suggesting that somehow these people's beliefs are inferior to those of the US soldiers, or that they are somehow not valid as human beings in the way Americans are. Which would, of course, be wholly and totally racist, not to mention discriminatory on so many other levels.
All human beings are human beings. Period. All opinions and beliefs are equally valid, however irrational. I think you're an asshole, you think I'm an asshole, objectively correct? Maybe not, but equally valid.

Ted Rall and his ilk just don't understand Patriotism. They hate what they don't understand, especially if they recognize it as being their better. Here's a good quote on patriotism that I came across and explains a good reason for it;
“Patriotism is easy to understand. It means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country.” - Calvin Coolidge
I don't know what to do anymore about the left that hates us so. They abuse our freedoms to harm our country, and yet never face any consequences. They know this and that is why they continue their cowardly attacks. How do you make them stop? How do you get the NY Times, ABC, NBC, etc and their ilk to stop without compromising our freedoms?
Excuse my ramblings. Been a long day.
Be safe and be well.

Right after 9/11 Ted Rall went to Afghanistan and broadcast live the battle of Kunduz.
So he HAS been there.
Also, before 9/11 he had a radio show from Los Angeles on KFI 640AM when he used to do the 'stan reports about the goings on in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Dagistan... etc.
This was a few YEARS before any normal person gave a crap about that part of the world.
You can't say he is not aware either.
I don't know what is wrong with Ted Rall, but for some reason he has developed a profound hatred of America and of the US military that was not always there, or if it was there he hid it very well.
I'm not defending Ted Rall by any stretch of the imagination, but something has gone very wrong with this guy's head.
I would like to ask him that question as I'm kicking his ass.

Ted Rall Hates You
That cartoon is fantastic. In just eight small cartoon squares, it sums up Lefties' views very clearly and concisely. They don't have much more to say than that. And that's why they can't cut it on talk radio: once they've spewed their one-sentence tag lines, they have nothing left to say. And repeating the same thing over and over and over again gets boring, even for them (regardless how many bad jokes they try to slip in to spice it up -- it's still the same shallow and simplistic message) and so even the Lefties switch the station.

Yet, idiots like Shillary continue to mouth political obscenitites, along with the likes of Ellison, Obama, etc..

Germans Prefer Dalai Lama to Pope Benedict, Says Study
Germans like the Dalai Lama more than they do their native-born Pope Benedict XVI, according to a survey published on Saturday.
...
The Dalai Lama enjoyed a particularly high popularity rating among the young and better educated, according to the survey by the TNS research organization.Half of those questioned in these groups believed the Buddhist leader was able "to provide advice on how to live," according to the study, which showed that Germans found Buddhism a more sympathetic religion than Christianity or Islam.
Asked what they thought was the "most peaceful religion," 43 per cent opted for Buddhism, while 41 per cent chose Christianity. Only 1 per cent picked Islam.

But this may be or have been part of the attempted Tet '68 redoux that various pundits have been proclaiming/waiting for...since '03.
Without direct and overwhelming help from the NVA the VC would have ceased to exist by the middle of '66.
The VC, operating under direct control of the NVA, threw everything they had into Tet '68. When it was over, the VC had all but ceased to exist anyway.
Iran/Syria appear to be attempting to recreate the NVA role for themselves. So far they also appear to be failing miserably.

Ted Rall makes a lot of money and receives a lot of adulation for what he does and people like us will mean nothing to him. He will continue to do what he does for as long as he can get away with doing it.
Thieves, murderers and criminals rarely feel remorse for what they do and will continue doing what they do until they are stopped.

Who was Tokyo Rose? This may have been several women who played a radio role in seeking to demoralize our soldiers in WWII. One person, Iva Toguri, was convicted of treason, but ultimately pardoned in the 70s by President Ford.
Regarding Ted Rall, there is no doubt who is the author of his cartoon that seeks to demoralize our troops. If he were tried for treason, I don't think that he could claim mistaken identity.

Rall on Rall:
I've also come to realize that media has become more fragmented. Very few of the readers of my "terror widows" cartoon in 2002 had watched the television appearances that prompted it, so they assumed I was going after people without justification. Now I try to keep in mind the fact that some readers never watch cable news, while others never see network news and still others get their current events from Jon Stewart or blogs.

In 1995, Rall was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Cartoons. A year later, he was one of three finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. In 1998, he began doing color strips for Time Magazine and Fortune Magazine, and was awarded the Deadline Club Award by the Society of Professional Journalists for his comic work.
As of August '06, he apparently is being published in 140 newspapers.
I will never understand how someone this hateful could become even somewhat recognized or celebrated for his "work." :(

re: #151 Jimmy The Clam
Insults like his are a dime per thousand. It just doesn't seem relevant. But what are you recommending be done?
That is a very fair question!
One thing that seems to have gone by the wayside in today's 'polite' society is the entire aspect of public humiliation as a correctional device against destructive behavior that harms all of us, and by that token we all have a stake in this.
Why do you think people do not walk around in Nazi uniforms or Klan robes?Ted Rall last I heard lives in NYC. If you see him walking around, shopping, eating at a restaurant, going to a Knicks or a Yankees game, walk up to him and very loudly and publicly tell him what a piece of crap he is.
Make a scene. Embarrass him. Let everyone around him know who he is and what he has done.
Nobody likes a scene. It's uncomfortable and THAT will make him feel bad (for getting publicly called out in-front of people he DOES care about) or at least think twice about the more inflammatory junk he writes.
As long as you do not threaten him, making a scene and publicly humiliating him is (so far) not illegal. You have as much freedom of speech as he does.
If that were to happen enough he would either become a recluse or find a new shtick.
That is what I would do if I ever met him publicly.

The comparison of a terrorist/fundamentalist to someone with BPD works pretty well. My ex had BPD, and it was quite the experience. She liked to manipulate to get her way, and if that didn't work, bully/terrorize, if that didn't, throw a big ol' temper tantrum, if not that, the pull out the butcher knife on me. He's bitter, spiteful, arrogant, smug, self-satisfied, tasteless, rude, and the only way he can pay his bills is to scribble lies and insults about better people than he, and hope that people who share his twisted outlook on life can maintain their domination of the MSM.
It's too bad that enough of a following can gather around liars and false accusers like Rall to insulate them from corrective sanction, and that as humans our own internal corrective mechanisms are so easily broken as to allow this level of delusion.
We are left to wonder whether Rall really believes his bile, or if he just does it to "create controversy" to sell his scribbles, or if he just enjoys tweaking people off because it lets him ignore his (justified) feelings of inadequacy for a little while.

It's so typical for the "intellectual giants" from the left, to reason that those that disagree must be from a lower and less intellectually capable class. A class that's easily motivated by silly things like patriotism, freedom, basic human rights, and freedom of speech. And thank God they're here for us "little, silly people". If Ted really wants to demonstrate how brave he is while hiding behind those he insults (our soldiers) he should create a cartoon that insults Islam and throw in a depiction of Mohamed for good measure. There are plenty of examples of Islamists that fit the profile in his latest cartoon. I dare you Ted...

Despite having some fun beating up moonbats tonight, the whole "moral equivalence" thing coming from the left depresses me. They really want to equate Islam and Christianity because they fear Christianity (and perhaps Judaism) far more than they do Islam. That kind of (non) thinking is prevalent in Europe and couples into anti-Semitism to become an extremely toxic mix. I feel we are becoming increasingly isolated against a sea of Anti-American and Anti-Israeli interests that I can't even clearly define.
Regardless of the results in Iraq, Waziristan and Iran are big problems already and we seem to stand alone...bereft of friends and allies. At the same time, the left (along with the MSM) is eating us up internally, sapping both strength and resolve. I'll admit to deep pessimism tonight.

Actually, they want to attack Christians and Jews exactly because they DON'T fear these people - they know that, like the spoiled pre-teen girl that screams and throws things at her parents, they won't hurt her.
That's why you never see these morons protesting in Pyongyang - they'd be shot. It's not about who's wrong, it's about how the moonbat can feel like they "stood up to the man" without actually taking any real risk.

When Ted Rall was at Columbia in '83 or '84 he was one three students who set up chairs on the College Walk with numbered signs rating girls that walked by from 1-10. This caused quite a stir at the campus which was in the process of going coed for the first time. The womyn at Barnard across the street were even less amused than usual at the crass stunt, and it was only later I found out that he was one of the ones that participated in this. If you read some of his writings it is apparent he had a miserable time adjusting to life and carries a huge chip on his shoulder as a result. Someone you would really feel sorry for except that his vile scrawlings have such a broad audience.

" Ted “Bottom-feeder” Rall ...Ted Rall, you see, is a very useful idiot. Whereas most on the Left attempt to conceal their liberal racism in the drapery of “diversity” and “multiculturalism,” Ted Rall is an ideological streaker. His impulsive naked bigotry is so butt-ugly, you can’t help but gawk. It is raw and it is real and it is, quite helpfully, all hanging out there for the world to see."

From NO PASARAN!
Randolph C White (a different sort of intellectual with different sort of theories) continues:
[Regarding] the best and the brightest that we have in this country … that unique band of brotherhood that is the infantrymen … Their moral clarity won't allow them to sit back and let someone else provide the blanket of freedom that we here today cherish and so many others take for granted. …
Your head will not be filled with the empty theory of those who in actuality know very little, because they lack the intestinal fortitude to commit to anything that requires risk. I'm speaking of the snide arrogant sort who spends the day blaming America for every wrong in the world before going home to sleep at night under that blanket of freedom provided by better men. Ted Rall's parents were divorced long before he started school, and he was raised by his French-speaking mother. When young Rall started kindergarten, he barely spoke English. His mother encouraged him to read the newspaper, so while other 5-year-olds were reading about Dick and Jane, Rall was reading about the Vietnam war and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. He was especially drawn to the editorial cartoons, and started doodling his own.
Raised by a French moonbat mother, wouldn't let him be a little kid. Saddled him with the cares of the world, still draws like he did when he was "doodling".

Donning my flame retardant suit, I will try to explain
why I think the cartoon is supposed to be funny in an
uncomfortable way.
The captions at the bottom of each pane ARE
stereotype descriptions of suicide/homicide bombers.
While there is an aspect of truthfulness to them in
general, they are not effective for identifying
pre-operative suicide/homicide bombers. The good
doctors in Britain reminded us of that. And sometimes
the adversary chooses its agents to NOT fit the stereotype.
The captions also ARE stereotype descriptions of our GIs.
Each has a grain of truth; some people did enlist for each
of those reasons. But they really don't explain the
specific personal choice of each of our soldiers.
I don't think that requires further explanation to this audience.
Isn't it striking that the media plays up approximately
equivalent stereotypes of both restive Asian militants and
US soldiers? Something is FUBAR with the media that has
such a small vocabulary of caricatures that everything is
described as grey, and only the rhetoric of the day determines
black and white, except when it doesn't.

No gestures, no facial expressions, nothing, just staring where he'll be likely to notice. After a couple, he'll actually start looking for it, getting stares from people not even in on the original effort. Then leave him alone and wait for his name to pop up in the media about his sudden irritability. His looking for stares will illicite a self-sustaining but totally unorganized, self-induced creepout on himself.

One thing 9/11 taught me is that cartoonists are men who while qualified to doodle on paper. And they may not necessarily have any other obvious talents.
I read Ted Rall or Tom Tomorrow and I am filled with gratitude that these men aren't actually in charge of anyone in the real world. No one's safety or rights or freedom depends on their decision. As I said they have jobs that consist of drawing a tiny doodle on a sheet of paper, once per day. That's the full extent of their responsibilities.
I can't imagine a better fit.

After seeing that disgusting cartoon it is apparent that Ted Rall has some serious problems and not all mental ones at that.
I will go out on a limb and say that he has been handed over to a reprobate mind.

Ted is brave in that 5-Grammy-awards-winning-Dixie-Chics sort of way.
Meanwhile in the real world, there’s the bravery of Theo van Gogh, Salman Rushdie, Hirsi Ali, Geert Wilders, Flemming Rose etc...

This POS cartoonist really disgusts me. I don't post a lot, but sometimes I just need to say something. Does anyone know who syndicates Mr. Rall's work? They should be flooded (again) with indignant notices that this kind of hogwash is not only vile, but unworthy of remuneration.
Ted Rall is a coward. He is a Gollum, a wretched and fearful creature enslaved by the knowledge that he is inferior and unworthy of the freedom that covers him and holds him safe. Ted Rall is not fighting a cause against the Country, the President, or the war. He is not "hard hitting" or valiant. The mewling of Rall’s depravity is mean spirited, wholly lacking in originality, unhinged to the point of clinical mental illness, and most sadly too common among those who disagree with the policy of the war in Iraq.
I think I've posted one of my favorite quotes before, but here it fits well and should be re-read:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Come on everybody, let's state the obvious, Ted Rall's a dick. Probably not a happy moment in his day.
No - he's a dick with a bad case of tertiary syphilis...
Ted and the others of his ilk don't have the balls to step out of their enclaves in NY, Boston, LA, SF and other liberal bastions, to see those of us who are America. The are all concerned about their "freedoms", but don't give a damn about us (the "do as I say, but don't call me out when I am caught in a lie" mindset). Aren't they the ones that on one hand are so concerned that the military is recruiting too many minorities, but on the other hand, show cartoons like this that have the "pasty, white, ignorant cracker" getting offed?
They just don't get it - It's people like myself and my brothers and sisters that go into harm's way when this country needs us, but they can sit on the sidelines and be Monday morning quarterbacks, and question everything that is happening. They are the ones that put together organizations and clubs to help those that they see as "less fortunate", tell them that it's someone else's fault that they are there, and then keep them from getting out of the situation that they are in - just look at what has happened to the NAACP recently when there president stepped down recently.
One last thing - Ted and others of his mindset don't understand that fighting the islamofacists has to be done now. IF we fail, they will come here and put people like him on the chopping block first.

...Well, the fact is, that cartoon hits quite close to the mark which is why it is so maddening. Lock-step Loyalty to the Leader coupled with disinformation, government school "education", economics and religious fervor--sounds like the enemy? Nah, it's the USA, too...

Even as Loved Ones Fight On, War Doubts Arise...For Beth Pyritz, 27, who recently joined the group, the turning point came last month when her husband, an Army specialist, left for Iraq for his third deployment.
“I voted for Bush twice,” said Ms. Pyritz, seated with her five children in their home at Fort Eustis near Virginia Beach. “I backed this war from the beginning, but I don’t think I can look my kids in the eyes anymore, if my husband comes home in a wooden box, and tell them he died for a good reason.”
She said her views began changing late last year as the administration seemed slow to release information about the chaos unfolding in Baghdad and crystallized when military deployments were extended to 15 months from 12 months.
Paul Jones, 51, a social worker who for three years has been counseling members of the National Guard and Army Reserve, said he had seen a growing number of troops who were angry and on edge, which is fueling dissent within military families...

Ted's cartoon did cause me to remember Stephen Tschiderer, the US Army medic who caught a round in the chest on July 2, 2005 and later found himself treating his shooter. Here is one link where I still could find the video (scroll down to July 2005). Happily I don't see Stephen on any current casuality lists. God bless you, Stephen, and all of our troops in harm's way.

The main reason for the multiple deployments of individuals is because Clinton cut our Army in half, from 20 divisons to only 8 divisions. At least Bush is trying to build it back up, under the current force structure we are back to the equivalent of 10. The congressional Force Caps are the main problem, by limiting the overall number of authorized personal. Bottom line is to fight Any Sustained Campaign we need a Bigger Army, PERIOD!

It was funny at the time: New York mayors love to display their comic skills at the annual Inner Circle dinner. In 2000, Rudy Giuliani outdid himself, appearing in full drag in a taped skit, even letting himself be kissed on the (heavily padded) chest by Donald Trump.
Now that Giuliani's running for the Republican nomination, YouTube users are circulating it with glee.

Stop using facts. The left hates it when you force feed reality into their fantasy world. Remember, their mental illness demands that anything that contradicts or even undermines their beliefs be ignored as though it never existed.

Fellow Lizards,
I don't what else I can say about this abomination known as Ted Rall. Ted Rall's editorials were found in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer every Saturday. His portrayal of President Bush & anything conservative was SO GAWD-AWFUL, that he's "Cartoons" made my blood boil!
As a Amateur cartoonist, he makes me feel pissed-off & ashamed to be a cartoonist. Up here in Seattle, we have all kinds of "sh*t rags" like "The Stranger", Seattle PI , Seattle Times, and many others. But then again, his work is called "Freedom Of Speech" as many other left wing papers.
Hey, I feel Mike Peters leans to the left, even though I like reading his strip, "Mother Goose & Grimm."
If you read a strip that attacks Republicans or conservatives, don't read it. That's what I do. I just hope Ted Rall will be in a crowd of drunk & angry Marines when he starts criticizing our troops!

HELP ME GET BACK TO THE RIGHT

Take the W from my car.
Peel it off and let it fall.
Leave the bumper clean and bright
For this sticker from Ron Paul.
It's not me that's changin' sides.
It's more a case of seein' the light.
I've supported Bush too long.
Help me get back to the Right.
Was the Iraq War right or wrong?
I've giv'n up tryin' to understand
Just what the heck it is we hope for
In that poor benighted land.
Spending restraint is dead and gone.
Smaller government's out of sight.
I don't feel like learnin' Spanish.
Help me get back to the Right.
I feel sure I'm not alone.
Help me get back to the Right.
Bush conservatism's a con.
Help me get back to the Right.
