-RetweetDaily Kos Kids Defend Venezuelan Dictator

Tue, Jul 24, 2007 at 8:15:09 pm PDT

Over at the left’s premier “progressive” web site, the Kos Kidz are sticking up for poor Hugo Chavez: Daily Kos: More Press Smears of Venezuela’s Chavez.

The British BBC reported yesterday that President Chavez of Venezuela is creating a “single, separate party”, suggesting thereby that he is creating a single party state. This is untrue, and yet another example of the pervasive misinformation the western media is distributing about the reality of Chavez and his government.

The media, particularly in the U.S. and Britain, has been enthusiastically supporting the U.S. State Department’s anti-Chavez policies which are designed to depose socialist Chavez from office so he can be replaced by those acceptable to the ne-conservative administration. Venezuela likely has greater oil reserves than those in the Middle East and the U.S. wants to control them.

If anything, I think the press have been sympathetic to Chavez's dictatorial control over Venezuela.

Yeah, and poor little Hugo called the Honduran Cardinal a "clown" because he was critical of Hugo's regime. And let ban all foreigners who might have bad thoughts about Hugo. Sure, it's the Western press who's wrong here, lalalalalalalal, I can't hear you!

Daily Kos: Who's Pro-Chavez, You Idiot?

This is rich. Markos “Screw Them” Moulitsas is being contacted by media to explain the pro-Chavez sentiment at his own site—and Kos denies knowing anything about it: Daily Kos: Idiot press.
...
I’m on the road, so perhaps I had missed some outpouring of pro-Chavez blogging on the left. But a look at my RSS reader doesn’t show much of anything, and I’ve got about 80 blogs on it. The feeds don’t always update regularly, so perhaps something was missed.

Also see: Pelosi/Rangel Statements Send Kos Kidz Into Tailspin

At the “progressive” left’s premier loony bin web site, they’re incredibly wound up about the anti-Chavez statements from Nancy Pelosi and Charles Rangel; the cognitive dissonance is reaching a crescendo.

Venezuela likely has greater oil reserves than those in the Middle East and the U.S. wants to control them.

I always thought that logic would dictate that if the war in Iraq was just about oil, the US would've had a LOT easier time just sprinting down to Venezuela to get it. We could've taken that country without a hiccup and not had to worry about the Arab asshats. That is - if it was just about the oil. But then, I did say LOGIC would dictate - we know the left has no concept of logic or reality.

"Single Venezuelan party planned
By James Ingham, professional idiot and totalitarian apologist
BBC News, Caracas

Propaganda: Plans to form a single political party in Venezuela have taken a step forward with the first activists' meetings.

Reality: Plans to destroy all other political parties have begun by assembling groups of thugs to continue the systematic intimidation and violence that has been perpetuated against opposition parties for the last few years.

Propaganda: Six million people have signed up to become members of the President's United Socialist Party.

Reality: 100% of the people of Iraq also voted for Saddam Hussein.

Propaganda: Critics worry about the threat to plurality, but organisers say it will give ordinary Venezuelans more chance to shape the future of the country.

Reality: The BBC will print anything a socialist dictator's propaganda ministry will tell them to, and only an idiot journalist could repeat the notion that less freedom, and less political discourse could help the ordinary people.

Propaganda: Venezuela's parliament, the National Assembly, is made up purely of politicians who support the president.

Reality: Imagine that, a socialist dictator creating a politburo that follows his every whim. If this writer was even barely competent he would mention that this is reminiscent of Stalin.

Activist battalions

Propaganda: Hugo Chavez is changing that by creating one united party, which he says will be constructed from the bottom up.

Reality: Hugo Chavez, like other totalitarians is establishing a cult of personality centered around him, rather than a political body.

Propaganda: Six million people have volunteered to become activists.

Reality: This is the second time he's printed this number, as if it actually means anything.

Propaganda: They have been formed into battalions. More than 1,000 of these have now met for the first time.

Reality: Like the S.A. of Hitler and the Black Shirts of Mussolini, Chavez is assembling groups of civilian vigilantes and thugs to enforce his will.

Propaganda: They will choose representatives who will soon take part in a national congress which will decide how the party will work.

Reality: They will form a government based on the Soviet system.

Propaganda: However, all this is creating division within the coalition.

Reality: Amazingly, some people aren't willing to surrender their voice to a chubby, megalomaniacal, Castro-wannabe.

Propaganda: Three key parties have so far refused to dissolve their groups and they have expressed concerns that this new style of politics could lead to one way of thinking.

Reality: They're afraid that this will lead to fucking civil war, and mass-murder, which is what happens when socialists get in charge.

Propaganda: But Mr Chavez says the battalions will be centres of debate which will drive the socialist revolution.

Reality: The BBC should be fucking ashamed of itself for hiring this asshole."

Chavez to expel foreign critics
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has vowed to expel foreigners who publicly criticise him or his government.

"No foreigner can come here to attack us. Anyone who does must be removed from this country," he said during his weekly TV and radio programme.

Mr Chavez also ordered officials to monitor statements made by international figures in Venezuela.

His comments came shortly after a senior Mexican politician publicly criticised the Venezuelan government.

"How long are we going to allow a person - from any country in the world - to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that the president is a tyrant, and nobody does anything about it?" Mr Chavez said during his "Hello, President" broadcast on Sunday.

"It cannot be allowed - it is a question of national dignity," he said.

He did not mention any names, but his comments came on the same weekend that Manuel Espino, president of Mexico's ruling National Action Party, criticised Mr Chavez at a pro-democracy conference in Caracas.

Mr Espino told the conference a plan by Mr Chavez to end term limits on Venezuela's presidency were a threat to democracy.

He accused Mr Chavez of trying to extend his rule indefinitely with the proposed constitutional reform, which would let Mr Chavez run for the presidency again in 2012.

Mr Chavez said the reform package would increase the influence of local community councils and student groups as part of his "21st-Century socialism" revolution.

He is due to present the proposal to Venezuela's National Assembly next month. The assembly consists solely of politicians who back the president.

It is human nature, due to our own inherently myopic view of ourselves, to see our flaws and think the other guy is far less flawed. Liberals just take this aspect of human nature and apply it to nations.

I wish people would stop posting 'first!' at the top of the threads.

It's getting annoying. Many many times I've sat on the first post and let it go because I was trying to think of something intelligent to say. Who cares if you are first, just say something relevant.

Chavez to expel foreign critics
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has vowed to expel foreigners who publicly criticise him or his government.

This is from the guy who came to the UN last year and made that 'I smell sulfur' comment about Bush. Unbelievable.

I thought there was a "sizzle" before the "poof", and then a strong smell of ozone.

It probably sounds like all of these in sequence-- but I think you're right about the smell.

"Single Venezuelan party planned
By James Ingham, professional idiot and totalitarian apologist
BBC News, Caracas

Propaganda: Plans to form a single political party in Venezuela have taken a step forward with the first activists' meetings.

Reality: Plans to destroy all other political parties have begun by
assembling groups of thugs to continue the systematic intimidation and
violence that has been perpetuated against opposition parties for the
last few years.

Propaganda: Six million people have signed up to become members of the President's United Socialist Party.

Reality: 100% of the people of Iraq also voted for Saddam Hussein.

Propaganda: Critics worry about the threat to plurality, but
organisers say it will give ordinary Venezuelans more chance to shape
the future of the country.

Reality: The BBC will print anything a socialist dictator's
propaganda ministry will tell them to, and only an idiot journalist
could repeat the notion that less freedom, and less political discourse
could help the ordinary people.

Propaganda: Venezuela's parliament, the National Assembly, is made up purely of politicians who support the president.

Reality: Imagine that, a socialist dictator creating a politburo
that follows his every whim. If this writer was even barely competent
he would mention that this is reminiscent of Stalin.

Activist battalions

Propaganda: Hugo Chavez is changing that by creating one united party, which he says will be constructed from the bottom up.

Reality: Hugo Chavez, like other totalitarians is establishing a
cult of personality centered around him, rather than a political body.

Propaganda: Six million people have volunteered to become activists.

Reality: This is the second time he's printed this number, as if it actually means anything.

Propaganda: They have been formed into battalions. More than 1,000 of these have now met for the first time.

Reality: Like the S.A. of Hitler and the Black Shirts of Mussolini,
Chavez is assembling groups of civilian vigilantes and thugs to enforce
his will.

Propaganda: They will choose representatives who will soon take part
in a national congress which will decide how the party will work.

Reality: They will form a government based on the Soviet system.

Propaganda: However, all this is creating division within the coalition.

Reality: Amazingly, some people aren't willing to surrender their voice to a chubby, megalomaniacal, Castro-wannabe.

Propaganda: Three key parties have so far refused to dissolve their
groups and they have expressed concerns that this new style of politics
could lead to one way of thinking.

Reality: They're afraid that this will lead to fucking civil war,
and mass-murder, which is what happens when socialists get in charge.

Propaganda: But Mr Chavez says the battalions will be centres of debate which will drive the socialist revolution.

Reality: The BBC should be fucking ashamed of itself for hiring this asshole."

Worth repeating.

He's typical of the mentally ill lefties. If they can't deal with the reality of a situation, they pretend it doesn't exist and create an alternate reality that is to their liking-as he demonstrated.

It's scary we have people like him that are in desperate need of anti-psychotic medications at all levels of govt.

Well, since the US still produces something like 40% of our own oil, we should allow Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon and their ilk to fly from LA to, say, Salt Lake City... then see if they can get any Mormons to ferry them on horse & carriage to their New Hampshire fund-raising event. That would be a very enlightening trip for all involved.

Meanwhile I will be racing around in a race car that gets 6 gallons to the mile!

Nice, a fellow driver! Club-level track days, regional competition, national competition? I'm running with a couple of track-time clubs... I'll go through about 15 gallons every 2 hours on track - I'd complain about the impact of increased fuel price, but the price of new pads, oil, coolant, racing brake fluid, occasional bushing and tires over the year makes the fuel increase cost just get lost in the noise.

Regional club racing. East coast.
I am exaggerating. The car is not that bad on gas.
Now the tow vehicle? Thats another story!
We have been having engine woes lately. Last year it was body work. My co-driver tore the front end off after hitting an immovable object. At least we found out the cage is safe!
I am in the middle of building a second car and fixing the first one is not helping. Having a job and family does not help either!

I have been trying to entice a few cone killers to step up to road racing and doing some endurance events, but so far no dice. Share the expense and work load kind of thing.
This is a pretty expensive habit isn't it.
I could try golf, but I am afraid I would fall asleep at the second tee.

re: #100 hous bin pharteen

What sanctioning group are you with? SCCA, NASA, Spec series of some type? What car do you run/repair most often?

I'd like to get into regional or national, in maybe NASA American Iron or a smaller series like Spec Ford (my ultimate dream would be IMSA Lites). I have yet to attend a certified school, but I am running with Chin Motorsports, who have certified instructors available at every event, 1-on-1, so it's a good education about full-course, threshold driving. I've also done some events with PBOC, who are also very professional and responsible in their conduct. I'm gearing up to attend Skip Barber this spring.

Apart from that, I'm just building track time (have a heavily modified Mustang GT). Track time is good to have before I head to school next year, but I don't want to build too much time at full speed before heading to school, lest I pick up some bad habit that none of the instructors have managed to notice yet. I'm an ex-cone-killer who decided to step up too while I'm still in my 20's, trying to persuade his cone-killer-friends that the view is much better at 140+ mph. You ever need another co-driver or suspension/chassis engineer (did Formula SAE back in college), lemme know (lol)!

In any case, yeah, an expensive hobby... but you can't choose what gets your adrenaline fired up, you can just choose whether or not to pursue it!

Hey! Andbody see Bill O'Reilly rip the shreds out of the Hillary Campaign Coordinator over the garbage on DailyKOS?

Check it out if you can.

Take care good people of Lizardlandia! :)

103 hous bin pharteen  Wed, Jul 25, 2007 7:04:33pm

Seraphym

I am an SCCA member. NASA seems to be upping there game too.
I wouldn't mind trying that series either. The mustang would fit the Iron series or SCCA American Sedan class or Touring 1 or 2 depending on how much prep you want to do. AS are mustangs, camaros, etc. They are getting more and more like the old Trans Am cars of the sixties and seventies as far as prep goes.
We run in Production class but can run in IT with a few changes.
TT is good to get to learn the car and driving at high speed.
I was amazed how different it was driving at speed than it is on the street. Skip is a good school. I know an instructor or two.
Roos runs a good school too I here.
I believe Bonderant is the granddady of the schools. Can't go wrong there either.
Try a few hillclimbs if you get a chance as well.
That will get your adrenal glands working.
