No Virgins for Kafeel

Thu, Aug 2, 2007 at 4:18:37 pm PDT

The Islamic terrorist who tried to blow up Glasgow Airport, and fought off police and bystanders while blazing like a human torch, is an ex-terrorist.

LONDON - A man who set himself on fire after allegedly crashing an explosive-laden Jeep into Glasgow Airport died in a hospital on Thursday, Strathclyde Police said Thursday.

Kafeel Ahmed, 27, had been in the hospital for a month with critical burns from the alleged attack on June 30, which followed a day after two failed car bombings in London. The other man in the car, Iraqi doctor Bilal Abdullah, has been charged with conspiring to set off explosions.

Ahmed, an Indian national from Bangalore, suffered burns to 90 percent of his body and had been in a coma throughout his stay at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Kafeel Ahmed’s brother, Sabeel Ahmed, 26, also faces trial after being charged with withholding information that could prevent an act of terrorism. He was arrested in Liverpool on the day of the Glasgow attack. Jordanian doctor Mohammed Jamil Asha is the other man facing charges over the botched attacks.

Oh my -- carryover from last thread , the real meat is the last para, though the rest is semi-interesting:
WASHINGTON: Senator Barack Obama’s broadside against Pakistan and his threat to strike terrorist targets in the tribal areas if President Pervez Musharraf does not, has been criticised by several leading figures, including some of his rivals for the Democratic party presidential nomination.

However, the Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton did not respond. Phil Singer, a spokesman, said the campaign had no response to Obama’s speech.

White House spokesman Tony Snow told newsmen, “Our approach to Pakistan is one that not only respects the sovereignty of Pakistan as a sovereign government, but is also designed to work in a way where we are working in cooperation with the local government.”

Sen Joseph Biden, who is also running for president, said Obama’s proposal clearly shows his inexperience. “It’s not something you talk about,” he said. “The last thing you want to do is telegraph to the folks in Pakistan plans that threaten their sovereignty.”

Sen Christopher Dodd, Connecticut Democrat, used stronger words. “Frankly, I am not sure what Barack is calling for in his speech this morning. But it is dangerous and irresponsible to leave even the impression the United States would needlessly and publicly provoke a nuclear power,” he said.

Sen James H Webb Jr, Virginia Democrat, called the Sulaiman mountain range on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border a rugged and treacherous place and did not blame the Bush administration for being cautious. John Edwards, now at No 3 in the Democratic presidential bid, said he would first apply “maximum diplomatic and economic pressure on states like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia” to do their utmost to combat the spread of terrorism. He also challenged both Obama and Clinton to block a proposed US arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

Some were supportive of Obama, including Lee Hamilton, chairman of the 9/11 Commission, who said, “His challenge to Musharraf to get rid of those sanctuaries is an important one, and I happen to be very sympathetic to that point of view. We have to take out these sanctuaries, and if (Gen Musharraf) doesn’t, we must,” he said.

New Mexico Governor, Bill Richardson, also a Democratic presidential candidate, was in agreement with Obama, saying that his approach towards Pakistan correct. “We need to reverse the Bush-Cheney policy of appeasement and make sure Musharraf knows his deal with the terrorists is completely unacceptable to the US.”

Obama also said in his Wednesday morning speech at the Woodrow Wilson Centre here, “As president, I will lead this effort,” he said. “In the first 100 days of my administration, I will travel to a major Islamic forum and deliver an address to redefine our struggle.” He also renewed his call to double the amount of foreign aid to $50 billion by 2012 and to provide $2 billion to fight the influence of Islamic madrassas, which he said “have filled young minds with messages of hate”.

OT:

Here is a twisted "narrative" that only an EU perspective can come up with ...
[Link: www.spiegel.de...]

Autopsy results released on Thursday afternoon show that a German hostage found dead in Afghanistan just over a week ago died of injuries sustained from gunshot wounds. A spokesman for Germany's Foreign Ministry said Rudiger Diedrich was shot and killed by his captors after a circulatory collapse.

Initially, German officials thought the hostage might have died of exhaustion after being taken on forced marches by his suspected Taliban kidnappers in mountainous Afghan terrain. An autopsy performed after his body was returned to Germany, however, determined that he had in fact suffered from a circulatory collapse, but that it didn't kill him. Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Jager said Thursday that his kidnappers shot him after his collapse. "After his collapse, the victim, who was still alive at the time, was shot twice," he said.

Look at it closely - I see a bizare sort of wishing had gone on in hopes that the Taliban hadn't killed him, even though they though taking him on a death march had killed him.

It is as if shooting the guy was a greater crime than marching him to death, which I guess leaves open the possibility of an "ooops."

One also has to wonder if the bullet holes had escaped prior inspection of the victims body and were only noticed by the medical examiner.

The wording is crafted to place the Taliban in the most forgiving light.

There we go- we need that law here to really stick it to cair. Could you imagine? cair will try to sue you for speaking out, but the government will throw you in jail for not speaking. That would be a conundrum.

I would guess a similar American law would effectively stop cair's ability to sue any John or Jane Doe.

A whip without portfolio — just the way Jesse Jackson Jr. likes it

Republican lawmakers have been buzzing about Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.’s (D-Ill.) recent floor antics.

During the last few weeks’ appropriations votes, he stood at the Democrats’ desk, jumping up and down, giving the thumbs — way — up sign, yelling to members how they should vote on amendments and, at times, talking excitedly into his Bluetooth earpiece — against House floor rules.

Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, who leads the 3rd Infantry Division, also said he and other commanders feared insurgents would try to stage a massive attack ahead of a pivotal report due in mid-September to the U.S. Congress on political and military progress in Iraq.

I hate to butt in, but the message I'm sure this particular islamist was trying send was that he is so devoted to his religion he is willing to kill anyone who doesn't believe and kill himself in the process to show the depth of his zeal. Too bad all I got out of it is that he was as crazy as a sh*thouse rat.

Heaven Running Out of Virgins

Aspiring Martyrs Angered Over Proposed Cutbacks

World - A critical shortage of virgins has suddenly put Heaven itself in the hot seat, informed sources say. The problem cast doubt on whether Islamic martyrs will continue to receive the 72 virgins promised to them as a reward for sacrificing their lives for God. Speculation began circulating that future martyrs might soon be entitled to 60, or perhaps even fewer, virgins.

The Almighty readily admitted to the problem. "It's a simple matter of supply and demand," He explained. "Just do the math. The September 11 hijackers: there were 19 of 'em, right? That's over 1300 virgins right there. On top of that, look at all the recent suicide bombers in the occupied territories. Every one of those bombers - even the women - gets the 72 virgins."

God threw up His arms in exasperation. "Where am I supposed to get them all? Do I look like I'm made of virgins?"

Disappointed followers did not accept the Lord's explanation at face value. "The Qur'an promises us 72 virgins if we sacrifice our lives in the name of Allah," complained prominent Muslim scholar Muhammed Sayed Haqla. "Seventy-two. Not 71, and certainly not 60. I'm trying to recruit prospective martyrs here. If I have to tell people they might only get only 60 or fewer virgins, they're gonna walk."

As a stopgap measure, God has proposed the use of young, "barely broken-in" non-virgins for less illustrious martyrs. "These guys who blow themselves up and injure, like, three people - they're just abusing the system," the Creator complained. "The 72 virgins are really intended for the big shots, the Mohammed Attas. So, for the lesser guys, I'm offering non-virgins. But you gotta realize, these girls are young, they're supple, they're innocent. Sure, they've had one or two experiences. But the average guy is not going to be able to tell the difference. In fact, I defy you to tell the difference."

Unsatisfied, Haqla scoffed at the proposal. "He thinks we can't tell virgins from non-virgins? He must be taking us for fools. 'One or two experiences,' He says? 'Barely broken in?' Sounds like a snow job to me."

Asked whether He should have promised His followers 72 virgins if He was unable to keep up with demand, God answered testily, "Yeah, well, you do this job."

Scholars and prominent Muslims like Haqla showed little sympathy for God's position. Haqla in particular feels his recruitment effort is in jeopardy. "With the promise of 72 virgins in doubt, I just can't recruit the kind of talent I need. Let's face it, these guys who strap bombs to their chests and walk into a crowded market - they aren't doing it for the glory, they're not doing it for the moral satisfaction. They're doing it for the virgins."

OT: Sauds Fund Mosque restoration in London:
[Link: www.pakistantimes.net...]

Within 10 years of his return to the city, he assembled a following of about 150 Muslims, almost entirely made up of British converts. Scientists and professionals were among Quilliam’s group, along with his sons and his mother, who had spent most of her life as a Christian activist. He also produced two journals, The Crescent and The Islamic Review on a printing press in the mosque’s cellar. Both were circulated internationally.

But Quilliam’s mission did not stop at publishing. He set out to help ease Liverpool’s social ills, founding the Medina Home, which cared for children and found them foster parents. He set up the Muslim College, a weekly debating society and also wrote a book of Muslim hymns in English.

He still found time to write a book. The Faith of Islam was published in 1899 by a small local printer and was translated into 13 languages, with three editions published. Quilliam proudly said that it had been read by Queen Victoria and the ruler of Egypt.

His efforts to promote Islam brought him praise and powerful friends throughout the Muslim world. The Shah of Persia made him a consul to his country. In 1894, Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the last Ottoman emperor gave Quilliam the title of “Sheikh al-Islam of Britain”, leader of British Muslims. The Sultan of Afghanistan gave him pounds 2,500 as “personal gift” to help him continue his good works.

As many as one in 11 British Muslims agree with and proactively support terrorism, a Government adviser has warned police.

Haras Rafiq also told officers at Scotland Yard that up to 20 per cent of the Muslim population ' sympathise' with militants, while stopping short of being prepared to 'blow themselves up'.

With 1.6million Muslims living in the UK, nine per cent is the equivalent of 144,000 people supporting terrorism.

This is why it is imperative that we let Muslims know of the Coming of their Promised One, the Mahdi, Who followed closely on the Coming of the Qaim, May 23, 1844.

Muslims need to know God no longer wants people to follow the Koran. Muslims have a right to know about the Coming of the Glory of God, Baha'u'llah, the Promised One of All Religions...

This way, Muslims don't have to be slaughtered en masse, or forced to 'give up' Muhammad, or shamed into losing face.

They simply turn TOWARD the One sent BY Muhammad: The Glory of God.

I'm sad you don't think people can be forgiven.

Whoa whoa whoa, I believe in forgiveness as much (well, judging by the free passes you all are willing to give) not quite as much as the next guy.

Let's do some serious logical thinking here.

A two year old dies without getting baptized/christened. Or uttering a prayer to Jesus. Is he/she saved?

Billy Bob helps his neighbors take out the garbage. He loves his family, friends, and does all that he can to help out his friends and family and community. He is a super nice guy. Looks for any reason to help people and add to society in many ways. Creating structures, artwork, wholesome in every word and deed, In fact, he was such a good guy he won numerous awards etc. etc. He didn't however push the notion of deity, nor did he ever really think much about it. He died not knowing the one true God?

Abdul Abdul Abdul pronounced hatred and animosity towards all who didn't see things his way. He killed and killed and killed, and then as a final parting gift, he kicked in the door to a nursery, and hacked up a bunch of Jewish kids. Then as he was about to pull the pin on the Suicide Belt, he looked over and saw a picture of Jesus (this is a stretch being in a Jewish nursery...) and he then read an inscription that if he prays to the one and true god he will be saved. He prayed. The clouds moved perpendicular to form a cross as his 'sign'...all is well?

So which one is saved?

Born in 1856, Quilliam was the son of a wealthy watchmaker and became a solicitor after training at the Liverpool Institute. But life as a lawyer took its toll on Quilliam and in 1882 he travelled to the south of France to recover from stress.

While he was recuperating, he decided to cross the Mediterranean to Morocco and Algeria and it was there that his fascination with Islam began. At the age of 31 he converted to the religion, changed his name to Abdullah and bought a marmoset as a pet.

This guy reads like something out of a Monty Python skit. If I were the a [bigoted word], "I don't believe I'd have told that".

but the dread of something after death. the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others we know not of. Thus conscience doth make cowards of us all.

this thought does not exist in Islam. their will is not puzzled, they have no dread of after death. they "know" what dreams will come when they have shuffled off this mortal coil. in short, Islam is the problem. Christianity doesnt have this because you cant "earn " your way into heaven, nothing assures you an afterlife in heaven except the grace of god. In Islam, you can assure yourself heaven by blowing yourself up. Who wouldnt take that bargain? Islam is the problem, it strips mankind of everything that makes us human.

328 jonturner  Thu, Aug 2, 2007 5:44:47pm

OK, so this particular terrorist is dead and the other one's in jail. Now what? What are the next steps?

Let's think beyond this incident for a moment... what is happening to the other doctors at the hospital, the families and associates of the flaming doctors? What is to become of their personal property? What about the mosque they attended? What to do?

This event was the latest skirmish in a larger war against our civilization! IMO, fire and deport all the foreign staff in that hospital. Shut the whole thing down tomorrow, if necessary but all the foreigners are finished, immediately. Revoke any certifications/degrees granted, take their pensions, confiscate their automobiles and homes (and any other personal property) and send 'em home.

As for the flaming doctor's families, same goes -- immediate confiscation of their homes, automobiles and all personal property and immediate deportation. Send them back to wherever they came from, without a penny to their name and only the clothes on their backs.

Bring in bulldozers and level the mosque.

Heavyhanded? Absolutely. Extreme? Sure. But if your goal is to rid your country of people who hate it, it will be effective. The choice is simple: live here in peace and be a citizen, or leave.

I am aware some innocent persons may get caught up in the backlash but... tough luck, that's life! Next time, don't hang around with terrorists. They have taken advantage of the West's hospitality and open culture, but now the party's over. Back to the third-world hellhole from which they came, and don't come back.

I can hear you saying "Why must we resort to such drastic measures?" A:Until the muslim world exerts pressure from within to avoid this sort of hate, it will not end. If this all seems "unfair" or unnecessarily cruel/harsh, then I propose your will is not adequately steeled to win this war of civilizations. This is what it will take to win the war. Those who would kill you must respect you and fear you. There is no other way.
The alternative is an endless string of 7/7 and 9/11 attacks, ending in eventual submission to shahira.

THIS is a valid distinction!

Re-ligio MEANS "re-unite", as true religion RE-UNITES the creature with the Creator; RE-UNITES the creature with fellow creatures, and RE-UNITES the creature with itself.

What is a Flaming Dr. Pepper? Diet Dr. Pepper is my favourite pop. (That's soda in Canadian-speak.)

Scale ingredients to servings
3/4 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1/4 oz 151 proof rum
1/2 glass beer

1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn.

2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass).

3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

Of course, you can't blow it out; you HAVE to down it while it's still burning! To paraphrase Ed, I've had Flaming Dr Peppers in Juarez once.

Sand, that "change of heart" neither rationalizes nor makes right the preceding evil. It opens a door for THAT PERSON to experience possible forgiveness after leaving this world, but certainly does not mean 'You are SAVED, pass GO, collect $200!'

Humans are created to Know and to Love. The unLoving acts we do, and try to not-Know (ignore, forget, deny) ARE PART OF US to eternity, so it behooves us to have that "change of heart" EARLY in life, that our life may be devoted to doing actions which ENHANCE Knowledge and Love.

The MSM who report like this are as much of an enemy to freedom as the jihadis that wish to get their 72 raisins.

Kill, Kill, Kill, Rape, adulter, steal, lie, cheat...2 seconds til death (and this one can be deemed sincere...) "I've had a change of heart."

The unLoving actswe do, and try to not-Know (ignore, forget, deny) ARE PART OF US to eternity, so it behooves us to have that "change of heart" EARLY in life, that our life may be devoted to doing actions which ENHANCE Knowledge and Love.

"And in the end,
the love you take,
is equal to the love
you make..."

I agree with what you are saying. However the parts that I bolded are REALLY what people of the MSC (Mainstream Christianity) persuasion really believe. Not the ENTIRE majority...but well more than 3/4's. It seems that that line of logic opens a slippery slope of..."Since I was saved when I was 14, all the other mistakes I made don't matter (as the 45 year old myspace pedophile gets sentenced to death for 20 counts of murder...) Are they just bad seeds? Maybe...but that line of thinking scares me...and I know it is used.

Kafeel Ahmed, 27, had been in the hospital for a month with critical burns from the alleged attack

Thats the dude they dragged down the street. I wonder why the police weren't criticized for not treating him a bit more gingerly in the act of transporting him. Really, the dude's legs were still smoldering, his polyester pants totally burned away to shreds (or melted maybe), and those two cops just dragged him down the street, with his raw burned skin rubbing against the asphalt.

Man has Bill O'Reilly seen that footage? Its an outrage I tell ya. If No Spin Zone got that pissed off because a book got abused, surely he'd be flipping out with recriminations for the maltreatment of a innocent until proven guilty suspect in an alleged attack that maybe never happened.

Thanks, bikermailman. I'll have to take your word for it; I can't drink beer (stupid Celiac).

Perhaps all of them - in some sense.

Remember that the greatest blessing of heaven is the awareness of God, and the greatest pain the awareness of the separation from God.

The child will have always have lived in Gods grace, and will be as happy as if he was with a grandfather.

Bob will be happy in what he did, but perhaps regret that he did not know the love of God sooner. (All those wasted years.) He will rejoice that - even while he failed to love God, God loved him.

The ex-terrorist will know God , but will still feel deep sorry, because now he will totally understand ( in a way beyond the understanding of the living ) the evils he has done and the sorrow he has caused to a God that he now sees and loves. (Awareness of sin is the true hell.)

The doctrine of "original sin".

The Baptists got into big trouble when they started out (as did other groups: look up Anabaptists and Menno Simon/Simons) because they did not believe in baptizing infants.

I'm pretty sure the Evangelical churches do not baptize babies. Some Presbyterians do, I think, but it's often called christening; I don't think they believe that babies who die will go to hell.

The Catholics definitely baptize infants because of "original sin". Anglicans (Church of England) might because it is so close to Catholicism; I don't know about any other church.

Some Protestant churches (Baptist and Pentecostal/Assemblies of God for sure) teach that people should get baptized when they are able to make a conscious decision to do so and that infant baptism doesn't "save" a person's soul. Someone else mentioned "the age of accountability". I can't remember if that is actually in the Bible or not but it is taught by some churches that only God can judge if a child was old enough to make a conscious decision to become a Christian.

Oh yes...'Original Sin'...there's a mind job and the crux of the whole issue.

Let's look at this. Because Adam transgressed in the Garden of Eden, It is MY FAULT? I am just as guilty as HE IS? So when a kid is born he has to be baptised ASAP?! Lame, lame, lame BS.

And if that is NOT the case, then the baptism of infants is IRRELEVANT, and wasted time and effort. I have spoken with a plethora of people and pastors of many denominations who jump on the 'If they (the child/baby) isn't baptised or hasn't accepted JC as his personal savior then they are GOING to HELL!'

If the doctrine has changed, it is only because certain pastors and teachers are stepping out of line of the taught theology and are making a grasp at common sense. I have read no 'Official Notices' buy any of these religious groups stating that the doctrine of infant baptism/original sin, is not right. (They couldn't, they would lose their paychecks...)

That 'blame game' logic is VERY liberal, I don't see how those who would espouse conservative values can buy into this liberal myth. (I agree that Adam 'fell'/'transgressed' or what have you, NOT that the guilt carries over to us...) It seems 'Original Sin' is an attempt to guilt you all into paying your pastor a fat check. He has to have leverage on you some how.

No wonder Al and Jesse Jackson can make a real case for slave reparations when so many people are duped by this ORIGINAL SIN, BS.

"If I carry the guilt of my great great great great....great grandpa ADAM, then I must also carry the guilt for my Not so great great great grandpa Robert Ulysses G. Z. Maynard who had slaves..."

I agree with you.

My only point is that there are some Protestant denominations that specifically state that they do not believe in, or practice, infant baptism. I don't know the percentage but they are open about it.

The Anabaptists and followers of Menno Simon(s) (early Mennonites, Amish, etc.) were hunted down and killed by various mainstream churches because of their radical beliefs, among them that baptism of infants was invalid. Some were drowned in the river and told something along the lines of, "You want adult baptism? Here ya go, heretic!"

Sorry for the late responses, I am in and out today. This whole conversation stemmed from the "Free pass" so many Christians have given murderous savages..."If only he would have just had a last minute change of heart and said his happy prayer to accept Jesus he could have been saved."

Oh no...Sand People's opinion.
1. Death Bed Repentance is BS. Especially in the case of jihadis running amok and doing their best to take innocent lives...we are so quick to forgive the perp and offer zero to the victims...that blows my mind. (Yes, I know I am not the judge...blah blah blah)
2. Infant baptism is BS.
3. Original Sin being the catalyst for infant baptism is BS.
4. Original Sin is just complete BS altogether.

I appreciate the discourse everyone has had without personal attacks. Any other place this would have been a giant personal attack session.
Time to move on to another thread, if you want to continue the discussion let me know. Otherwise we will have to agree to disagree without being disagreeable. You lizards are the best!

re: #408 raz

I've got a feeling that lots of people will have their eyes on events here in Scotland in the next few years due to the new voting system introduced for our parliament, detailed in this wiki link.

As the political parteis scraps for every single possible vote, it means that the politically motivated muslims will have an increasing say in what's happening in this country as can be seen by what you mentioned and other recent activities by the minority SNP administration.

I hope I'm wrong but I've got a feeling there is going to be trouble here soon.

I'M ON FIRE
5000 Volts

If you want a sweet, sweet love tonight
Call me and I'll make you feel alright
When you're out and running around
Playing games all over town
Turn around, come on down, I'll be there
Yeah, yeah
If you want some sweet , sweet love from me
Take a chance with someone new you'll see
I can make your fire burn with the touch of just one kiss
Turn you on all night long
You'll be gone, gone, gone

Honey, now I'm on my way
I'm on fire
Yes, I am, I'm on fire
Honey, now I'm on my way
I'm on fire
I'm on fire, baby
Honey, now I'm on my way
I'm on fire, yes I am my baby
Honey, now I'm on my way
I'm on fire
I'm on fire, baby

I'm pissed that this scumbag never suffered for longer. We brits will probably have to fork out for the funeral as well.

Better than in life.

Would a "woo hoo!" be inappropriate?
