-RetweetAnother Islamic Charity Funding Terrorism

Tue, Aug 7, 2007 at 9:15:53 am PDT

Yet another Islamic “charity” secretly funding Hamas has had its assets frozen by the Treasury Department: Treasury moves against Al-Salah.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration moved Tuesday to clamp down financially on a large charitable organization in Gaza for allegedly raising money and providing other support to Hamas, which the U.S. has branded as a terrorist group.

The Treasury Department’s action is against the Al-Salah Society and its director, Ahmad al-Kurd. As a result, any bank accounts or other financial assets found in the United States belonging to them must be frozen. People in the United States also are forbidden from providing money or doing business with them.

Treasury alleged that Al-Salah, located in the Palestinian territories of Gaza, supported Hamas-affiliated combatants and recruited young people for Hamas activities. The U.S. also said that Al-Salah financed stores, kindergartens and the purchase of land for Hamas.

And again, we see the Arab countries that are supposed to be our allies, not-very-secretly funding terrorism and murder.

The society has received “substantial funding” from Persian Gulf countries, including “at least hundreds of thousands of dollars from Kuwaiti donors,” the department said.

Only US tax dollars are to be used to fund Hamas !

8 odhran  Tue, Aug 7, 2007 9:19:30am

Shocker. What's funny is these groups receive so much foreign aid anyway, why do they need charities on top of it all? I'd like to see some numbers that show just how much aid money per person the Palestinians receive.

Maybe I'll do some research and come up with my own numbers.

Too bad this "religion" doesn't channel its forcible charities toward abused women and enslaved children rather than the made-up scapegoat group of the Palestinians.
They love to use charities to support those with the ability to slit throats, stone or destroy with explosives but with no ability whatsoever to produce abundant food, medicine or clothing.

re: #5 MODERATIONIST

Money for murder is the coward's way of murdering.

Every single muslim who gives to charities knowing full well that their money will go to murdering innocents, is guilty as the stupes who blow themselves up.

The sad thing is, I'm sure there's a percentage that's fed a line of bull as to where the money will go, give because of the trained sheep their religion turns them into...the devout CAN'T THINK for THEMSELVES! ! ! In the name of allah(am) and away they go...

Well, no wonder there just wasn't enough charity money to help out those tsunami victims, and the rest of the world did most of the heavy lifting

You'd think a religion of 9 billion (latest CAIR estimate) that we are assured is all about giving to charity would have had plenty of money in the charity banks to take care of things like that and the earthquake in Iran, etc.

I guess there's charity, and then there's charity (wink wink nudge nudge).

But, but, but, how could a charity called "The Prayer" (Al Salah) not be anything but the answer to someones prayers. My Man, The Reverend Al makes big bucks consulting on similar spiritual matters. As Al says, "Them that gives, gives to them that gets" and Al, like Islamist fanatics is a real go getter.

When the hippies die out, let's just re-introduce imperialism, since its real rationale - keeping a lid on the freaks - has been nicely demonstrated over the past several years. Time to put the vice back down. These people make shitty enemies; they even make shitty co-species representatives. I'd rather go back to the regularly scheduled programming of worrying about Russian expansion, or perhaps some other more romantic and competent Asiatic conquest-people (with way, way hotter women than the current problem), so let's get a move on yo. ALL the charities are linked to Muslim gangs because THAT is the nature of Islam, and it is therefore inescapable. Deport them; close their missions; colonize and rule their territories; invent a new prophet for the hysterics to cleave to, supported by some magic provided by what we reasonable people like to call "science" - maybe a heavenly voice booming from an AWACS about how "the Koran is the gift of Moloch! You have been deceived as you claim that the Jews have been! USA! USA! WOOT!"; suck out all the oil, put it in vats in Montana, forget to pay for it, seize the Treasury bonds, invite them to "come and get it" if they wail, and then let the barbarians go back to grooming sand and cannibalizing each other. This is already old. They don't even have music! Nothing! What a bunch of wretchs.

re: #22 daughter of patriots

As far as Hindu violence is concerned it is mostly in reaction to Muslim provocation. Anywhere the Muslims exist they cause strife, they make war on Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhist, Confucians, atheists, etc.
In this they are true to their ideology which divides the world into them and everyone else, that is why there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim, the only distinctions can be devout or non-practicing.

40 alegrias  Tue, Aug 7, 2007 10:03:23am

OT anyone see the picture of a woman in full black burka swimming at the Egyptian beach with her family? Front page of today's Washington Times! Entitled "Summer Fun" no less--and she's even wearing black gloves in the water.

And on page A-9, there's a picture of a mother named Umm Jihad watching over her wounded son, Jihad Wali, in a Baghdad hospital.

It's all jihad all the time, as Arafat said while American presidents nodded with dumb smiles on their faces as they signed off on jihad funding.

41 Is it me?  Tue, Aug 7, 2007 10:39:47am

If it's an Islamic charity just freeze all their assets. You're not likely to be wrong.

Forget about giving money to any charities (even the international ones) if they are going to send money to Islamic countries, or mainly moslem ones. Send the message loud and clear. You don't support terrorism and won't have your money syphened off no matter what the initial cause might be - even natural disasters. Let the Saudis fund it.
They either hate us, despise us or are happy to take our money then spit at us. Charity begins at home.

I like the Imperialist thing. If they are going to accuse you of it, then why not be it. The Russians will love it - they've got a bit of oil money, paid the Army, so they're getting restive. Probably designing themselves some new military doodads as we speak.

I seem to be in a cranky mood this evening.
Is it me? 6.40pm

COBRA,
I totally agree, and we should hunt the 'donors' down, load them on a plane or chopper, take them straight to the HOTTEST FIRE FIGHT ZONE in Iraq, kick their butts out, and say as we are flying away...You want to be a supporter of the terrorist... Then YOU ARE one...,
then give the coordinates to the closest Military unit , with alerts of "known terrorist" in position.

Might just slow the donating down a bit you recon?

When the Treasury cracks down on CAIR – Then I will believe they are serious about stopping terror funding.
