-RetweetHamas Child Star: 'Every Palestinian Hopes to Be a Martyr'

Tue, Aug 14, 2007 at 1:34:12 pm PDT

A profile of the creepy 11-year old zombie girl who hosts the Hamas TV show Tomorrow’s Pioneers, one of the most depraved Islamist propaganda efforts in the world today: Hamas TV’s child star says she’s ready for martyrdom.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Saraa Barhoum picked at the buttons on her pink bellbottom jeans as she twisted on a chair inside the bustling new Hamas television headquarters. The afternoon light bounced off the sparkly outlines of butterflies on her frilly top, and a colorful hijab framed her 11-year-old face.

Saraa wants to be a doctor. If she can’t, the young star of Hamas television’s best-known children’s show said, she’d be proud to become a martyr. Saraa says little Jewish girls should be forced from their homes in Israel so that Palestinians can return to their land.

With the show’s producer helpfully offering written tips during an interview, Saraa didn’t get into how she hopes to die for her cause, be it suicide bombing, fighting the Israeli military or some other way. She carefully sidestepped any suggestion that she’s subtly calling for the destruction of Israel .

“Israel says that we are terrorists,” Saraa said minutes before an interview with her was interrupted by an errant Israeli airstrike that slammed into an apartment building on the adjacent block. “But they are the ones that must stop their attacks against us and our kids.”

Saraa is the sweet face of “Tomorrow’s Pioneers,” a weekly, hour-long Hamas television children’s show best known for bringing the world a militant Mickey Mouse look-alike and then having him killed off by an Israeli interrogator. ...

“A lot of people in Palestine have died as martyrs, and lots of Palestinians hope to be martyrs,” Saraa said of Farfour’s demise. “This is one of the ends.”

Asked if she hoped one day to be a martyr, Saraa instinctively nodded her head. “Of course,” Saraa said. “It’s something to be proud of. Every Palestinian citizen hopes to be a martyr.”

Saraa helps deliver similar messages to Palestinian children from a Hamas TV set filled with colorful numbers and pictures of kittens. During the show, Saraa fields calls from Palestinian children who warble songs about Islam, liberating Jerusalem and finding answers in the barrel of a machine gun.

She wants to grow up to be a Doctor or a terrorist martyr. That's not so bad. Seems to be the choice of many Islamics. Sometimes they even combine the two.

If she wanted to grow up and do some real damage to Israel- she could grow up to become a Condi Rice or Tzipi Livni.

Nah.

Until relatively recently, the Palestinians had the highest fertility rate in the world, at a an average of about 6 kids per Palestinian woman.

They could literally martyr over half their children and still be at replacement levels.

From "Palestine Remembered"

Since the middle of the nineteenth century, and probably long before, the proportion of children born to the Palestinian Arabs-their fertility-has been among the highest recorded for any population. The average number of children born to a Palestinian woman who lived through her childbearing years (the total fertility rate [TFR]) was slightly more than 7. The high fertility of Palestinians living in Palestine remained constant from Ottoman times until the late 1970s, when it began to diverge by regions. In the late 1970s, fertility among residents of the Gaza Strip actually began to rise, reaching more than an average of 7.6 children (TFR of 7.62) in 1979 before it decreased slightly. On the West Bank, fertility declined more rapidly. The Palestine Demographic Survey of 1995, found that the Gaza TFR. was 7.41, that of the West Bank, 5.44. In Israel, Palestinian fertility remained high until the 1970s, when it began to drop quickly, reaching a TFR of 4.9 in 1983 and 4.6 in 1989. The fertility of Palestinians in Israel remained at approximately that level in 2000.

Think of it this way -- If every Palestinian becomes a martyr, then... poof, no more Palestinians, and no more Palestine.

Problem solved.

Duh.

40 SonOfLiberty  Tue, Aug 14, 2007 1:47:22pm

Palestinians could outright declare war on the free world and most of the free world wouldn't get it. Inevitably some idiot is going to say, "Well, Americans can aspire to be soldiers and doctors too; why can't this child aspire to be a martyr?"

Moonbat logic: Spanking your child is wrong, but encouraging your child to commit suicide and kill hundreds with their act is acceptable.

You know, I don't wish for anyone to die violently, but if I had to look at this from a completely cold angle, I would say that it's a disappointment that the suicide rate is lower than the indoctrination rate; if those numbers were reversed, this insanity would sort itself out. If that's over the line, then tell me and delete it.

Man, it's a good thing those muslims are so peaceful. Someone's gotta keep us sane from those crazy, suicide-bombing Christians!

Child abuse, plain and simple.

Here's what my Guru has to say about it.

18:2 And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them,

18:3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me:

18:6 But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and `that' he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

Power to the Correct People!

I wrote then cut a rant about this because I think it's just too over-the-top.

I'll summarize it this way.

Liberals: This girl is being indoctrinated to kill anyone that doesn't believe her ideals. This includes me. This includes you. Pander all you wish; you are a child of the "Great Satan." You are her enemy.

Adults have taught her this. She's been raised in a household that condones your death. These people want me to die. These people want you to die. They think you're an infidel.

If you believe in saving this girl and teaching her that suicide and martyrdom is not the answer, then you must support the global, yes GLOBAL, fight against the spread of militant Islam.

If you cannot act to step in and support this violent cultism, you are as guilty of this child's death and any murders she should commit as a martyr as she and her teachers are.

There's still a chance to save children like this girl. We must stop the people who "educate" her.

Lo and behold, in 2004 when Israel suggested the same thing, the "world" (read: useless un) castrated her for wanting to do such a thing.

Even if one thinks that Hamas' cause is just, the horror that this girl would love to be a martyr if she doesn't score high enough on her MCATS should be horrifying.

Let's see, she could've said soldier, freedom fighter, hero of the revolution, future (Jewless) Palestinian State (G-d forbid) President, anything but martyr.

The fact that these people are raising their children to want to grow up to die young should be enough to make these pro pal reporters change their tune, but they keep humming it with more bravado.

Good news is that, I believe, this suicidal mindset will eventually lead to the Islamo Fascists defeat. All they treasure is death, and that is all too easy to obtain. The tragedy is that they will take so many with them until they are gone.

129 Geekasaurus  Tue, Aug 14, 2007 2:25:39pm

re: #36 looking closely

In the early 1900's, the average married Mexican woman had 8 children. Now, 100 years later, the average is just over two. The demographers I have been reading have suggested that Mexico (and now Palestine) have been following the US trend: as TV viewing increases, population growth deceases. When people aspire to the 'good life' of 24 hour electricity, refridgerated/frozen food, video games, computers, and cable TV, they find things OTHER than sex as an occupation.

One demographer mentioned Johnny Carson single-handedly solved the population problem of the US. People stayed up to watch Johnny, and aftewards were too sleepy to make babies.

Consequently, this TV show is ironically its own ending. As a TV-centric culture evolves, population growth decreases. With this decrease in fertility...a desire for martyrdom will result in a decrease of the Palestiinan people itself, possibly to the point where they will cease being a distinct ethnic group.

As stupid as it seems, us lizards may want to discuss with $DEITY for the success of this TV show and may there be 100 like it. The Palestinians have been breathing hatred and destruction of Israel and the Jews for 3000 years at least. But in what I can only refer to as Gods idea of a joke: Palestinians are destroying themselves instead. This TV show is only an example. Hang around for a few decades or centuries to see how this uber-morality play works out.

High fertility rates are found in almost all third-world sh*th*les, and have been throughout history. As economic prosperity increases, fertility decreases. This has also played out in India and elsewhere as well. A few decades ago, India had one of the hightest fertility rates in the world. Now it is dropping faster than Karen Carpenters Socks (TM).

The economy gets better, people find work...and there are fewer babies. Atrribute to anything you want, but the parallels are striking. It seems that prosperity is the opposite of fertility.

I disagree. I think she knows exactly what it means (to the extent that an 11 year-old can understand death). I believe that these children can comprehend the devastating finality of death, but have been so warped that even as pre-adolescents they rejoice in the prospect of 'martyrdom.'

That is one of the greatest crimes of the Hamas/jihadist leadership and the complicit Palestinian leadership in Israel/the territories and throughout the world. They will have much to answer for in this world and the next.

152 armaros  Tue, Aug 14, 2007 2:47:03pm

This society is so depraved, so far out in the dis function that I cannot see any possibility of mending this any time soon.
I say this with a heavy heart as it does hurt to see children abused and brainwashed to such degree. I truly feel sorrow for them.
It , and the other reports of this TV show make me feel more sad and more discouraged than any car bomb in Iraq.
What can be expected from a society which was built to destroy another. One that used to be the back hand of the Evil Nazis and their genocidal plans of a generation ago.
This show, more than any, along with of course the obvious Nazi salutes, illustrates the rot which permeates the Arab/Muslim world.
There are no words to describe this absurd tragic drama.
Leni Riefenstahl could learn from this production.
To indoctrinate children to hate and suicide at an age when life should be the greatest of desires deserves the condemnation for an eternity of those who support, finance and apologize for this. There can be no excuse for this. None.
There should be no support, recognition, talks with this morbid culture represented by Hamas.
No matter what may go on in the back doors, as there s always talking behind the scenes, no official or visible acceptance can be accorded to them. This needs to be exposed and exposed until the world sees this for what it is, pure Evil.
This abuse of children proves that they all want a sort of collective suicide as no matter what negotiations or summits may produce, when children learn these things at these ages, their whole nation will suffer for generations to come. No society, no matter how "revolutionary" can ever be built on this and they know this, that I am sure of.
They will be damned for longer than we could forsee and I say this as a non religious person. Even if Israel would disappear tomorrow, this will not melt away, but turn against whatever there is out there that values life and humanity. This is why I m convinced those who are creating this are after all of humanity and not just Israel, America etc etc.
Anybody making excuses for this, in the MSM or any other place should be denounced as this is a crime against humanity and explaining it away is tantamount to revisionism.
I ask all to watch the TV and papers and see if there is anybody out there ever excusing this or apologizing for this and they, whomever they might be,western, eastern, Muslim or whatever, be denounced as traitors to humanity.
This is even harder to defend than suicide bombing or terrorism and perhaps this is where they crossed a line where many, if shown enough, will see what this so called "war on terror" is really about.
Sometimes the enemy provides the greatest gift necessary for victory.
While I hardly see "victory" over something like this, people will respond if allowed to see this. Please show this to as many as possible and thank you Charles for putting this up tirelessly time after time as somehow after "Mickey" died, so did the ADD attention of our medias to this absurdity.

She wants to grow up to be a Doctor or a terrorist martyr. .

It's not the same obviously but this statement still reminded me of when I asked my friend's little girl who was about 6 what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said "either a bus driver or a Queen". ...LOL. I still laugh about that one.

Every Palestinian Hopes to Be a Martyr? Correction: Every Palestinian Hopes to Be talks about being a Martyr'

I don't know how many paleostinians there are, but there would be an awful lot of sh*tbombs (my new word for suicide bombers) going off if they were really serious about this martyr thing. Here's how hard it is to become a "martyr".

1- Ask around for some Hamasshole to help you strap a bomb on.

2- Stand next to some Jews and push a button.

Young or old, doesn't take any training. You can be just as effective as an 80 year old dying of cancer with 3 weeks to live as the most highly trained Hamasshole fresh off of training at terrorist camp where they jump through flaming hoops, juggle, and walk the tight wire with only a little pink parasol. If the entire palistinian population really wanted to, they could explode several thousand of these "stupid bombs" (my other new word for suicide bombers, as in, dumb bombs, smart bombs and now, stupid bombs) every day completely sustainably.

Here's the truth. Muslims like talking the talk but they're full of sh*t.

I'll drop another little truth as I see it. If our society came to the point where dying to defend our society was the only way to protect it, we'd put up 1000 "martys" for every one of theirs. We know we can do a lot more damage alive than dead so that's not the way we do it, but if it came down to it, well, we'd out martyr these turds a thousand to one at least.

If we told would-be suicide bombers that they were condemning themselves to an eternity with 72 wives, the problem would solve itself almost instantly.

Imagine always being told by 72 women to put down the toilet seat or to wear a shirt when going out to mow the lawn. Or to walk your dirty clothes all the way to the hamper all the way across to the other side of the bedroom. They really do go to hell after all.

re: #162 AirForceWife

It's funny because in our world, women have some power, to nag, demand, etc. Wife to some just means sex slave who also cleans the toilets.

Asked if she hoped one day to be a martyr, Saraa instinctively nodded her head. “Of course,” Saraa said. “It’s something to be proud of. Every Palestinian citizen hopes to be a martyr.”

Such evil hatred behind that sweet little face. Can you imagine if a little Christian or Jewish girl hosting a children's tv show said she wanted to be a martyr for Jesus, or a martyr for Israel [implying a terrorist act against muslims]. . .Dept. of social services would be knocking down the stage door.

I wonder what the Koslings and their ilk think of this? Oh wait, I just checked their site, nothing other than Bush is worse than the Nazis.

Saraa,
You are guaranteed an automatic placement to any US Ivy league University in the US and their respectable medical schools, within the category of persecuted people. Keep studying and your contribution to your community.

I say that they should be allowed as many martyrs as they want - but we get to choose how and when.
I'm sure that rookie USAF and IAF pilots must need live ammo practice.

So creepy. So wrong.
If these people want to wipe themselves out, fine. Just don't go near us.

I respectfully suggest that the noun ZOMBIE should never be used as a pejorative.

171 Bummer  Tue, Aug 14, 2007 9:46:57pm

The solution is so very simple, how can you debate it

Q: What do you do with people that are very willing to die for their cause?
A: ACCOMMODATE THEM!

Nuff said

With the show’s producer helpfully offering written tips during an interview, Saraa didn’t get into how she hopes to die for her cause, be it suicide bombing, fighting the Israeli military or some other way. She carefully sidestepped any suggestion that she’s subtly calling for the destruction of Israel .

Of course she had a hamas handler with her, to guide her, to make sure she didn't innocently say something damning like not so subtly calling for the destruction of Israel. We do not take the islamists at their word- not the adults, nor the children.

Saraa wants to be a doctor. If she can’t, the young star of Hamas television’s best-known children’s show said, she’d be proud to become a martyr

Careers Guidance didn't give her many options, did they ?
Seeing as how being a doctor requires an education denied to girls,
that only leaves one possibl career option.
Try this bombbelt for size, Saraa ...

174 baconeatingkaffir  Wed, Aug 15, 2007 3:36:22am

aah but you forgot about one more option. How about being a porn star or slave girl?

175 opnion  Wed, Aug 15, 2007 7:28:01am

This is so sad. She has been programed with hate & propoganda.
I have a daughter studying to be a doctor & she does want to heal not kill.

This beautiful child, twisted by an evil ideology into a vicious monster...

How Very Sad.

I recently saw an Israeli movie "Hothouse" a documentary filmed inside an Israeli prison. There was no remorse for the killing of innocents by "palestinians." In fact on the womens side there was a newscaster who orchestrated the Sbarro bombing (of course she didn't actually strap a bomb on herself) and then a short time later 15-30 mins, she reported on it. When asked how many children she thought the bombing had killed she said 5 ( ithink) in a hopeful way, when told it was actually 8 a bigger smile was across her face.
Many of the prisoners are getting college degrees & master's degrees from Hebrew U. The film shows very humane treatment of the prisoners. We have yet to see where Shalit, Goldwasser et al are being held.
