Swedish PM Responds to Iran and Pakistan

Fri, Aug 31, 2007 at 8:27:08 am PDT

The Prime Minister of Sweden, Fredrik Reinfeldt, responds to the Muslim world’s ridiculous rage over the dreaded roundabout dogs of blasphemy: SvD: Reinfeldt om Muhammedprotesterna.

A reader emailed a translation of his statement:

I think it is important to say two things. The first is that we have been very keen on a Sweden that will be a country where muslims and Christians, those that believe in God and those who don’t, can live side by side in mutual respect. We think that we have come very far. I have a responsibility for this to continue and to take initiative to deepen this reciprocity and respect.

At the same time we are very focused on standing up for freedom of expression which is a basic right in the law and which comes natural to us and which ensures that we do not make political decisions about what is published in newspapers. I want to keep it this way.

Swedish MP Fredrik Malm added:

There is no reason to keep quiet about this question. One must be crystal clear that in Sweden it is not the government that decides what appears in newspapers. Iran should change their own press laws and not try to change ours.

OT: Get a load of this Reuters item:

Skeptical Moroccans look hopefully to Islamists

Embittered by unfulfilled promises, Mahbou has decided to vote in September 7 parliamentary elections for a party that has avoided grand promises -- the moderate Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD).

Sure, they're moderates.

"All the political parties have plundered Morocco's riches," says Kenza Niyari, 52, a housewife wearing a headscarf and loose djellaba robe.

"I have no confidence in any party but if there's one that commits to enforcing true Islam, it'll get my vote because we have failed to follow Islam properly and ended up backward."
...
Voters seem unconcerned by the PJD's vagueness. Indeed it may even be a strength as it allows the party to attract people with varied religious and political convictions.

Nothing will be vague when you vote them in.

Yes, but a lot needs to be DONE. Talk is cheap in these instances and the enemy responds only to actions and force. Otherwise, they have no respect -and no fear- of us at all. Unfortunately, no one in Europe has seemingly drawn that "line in the sand". Until the Swedes et al start backing up their words with actions - like prosecutions and deportations - then this is, sadly, only so much lip service.

Oh Lutefisk
by Red Stangeland last verse by Robert L. Lee

[Sung to the tune of 'O Tannunbaum]

Lutefisk... Oh Lutefisk... how fragrant your aroma
Oh Lutefisk... Oh Lutefisk... You put me, in a coma
You smell so strong... You look like glue
You taste yust like an overshoe
Put Lutefisk ... come Saturday
I tink I'll eat you anyway.

Lutefisk ... Oh Lutefisk ... I put you by the doorway
I vanted you to ripen up ... yust like dey do in Norway
A dog came by and sprinkled you ... I hit him vit an army shoe
Oh Lutefisk ... now I suppose
I'll eat you as I hold my nose.

Lutefisk ... Oh Lutefisk ... how well I do remember
On Christmas Eve how we'd receive ... our big treat of December
It vasn't turkey or fried ham ... it vasn't even pickled spam
My mudder knew dere vas no risk ...
In serving buttered lutefisk.

Lutefisk ... Oh Lutefisk ... now everyone discovers
Dat Lutefisk and lefse makes-Norweigians better lovers
Now all da vorld can have a ball ... you're better dan dat Yeritol
Oh Lutefisk ... vit brennevin
You make me feel like Errol Flynn.

Lutefisk ... Oh lutefisk ... You have a special flavor
Lutefisk ... Oh lutefisk ... All good Norwegians savor.
That slimy slab we know so well ... Identified by ghastky smell
Lutefisk ... Oh lutefisk ... Our loyalty won't waver.

Lutefisk...Oh lutefisk...When my poor heart stops beating
The pearly gates will open wide, I'll see the angels eating
From steaming platters of the stuff, and there will always be enough
O piece of cod that I adore, O lutefisk forevermore!

A great response by Sweden. It needs one more line: "Those who are not prepared to live by our laws should not come to Sweden."

And I'd add,

"... And should expect to be forcefully removed from Sweden."

I still can't figure this out.

Swedes find underwear contest pornographic.

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - A competition launched by German underwear maker Sloggi to uncover the world's most beautiful bottoms has been slapped down in Sweden after media protests against the "pornographic" event.

"Alas, our goal of finding the most beautiful backsides has been misunderstood by certain sections of the media" in Sweden, the German firm said in a statement Tuesday.

Several Swedish newspapers have slammed the competition as a pornographic event. The company had invited women and men to send photographs of themselves in their underwear which would then be put to an Internet vote.

Wasn't it Sweden that, not long ago, was considering their major fraction of demographic in the future being Muslim and speculating as to what changes needed to be made to accomodate it or something along those lines? Or was it Norway? In any case, the difference is nominal; Scandinavia is the most liberal place in Europe. You know, the most liberal place in an entity which is already worryingly liberal.
Not to take the plaudits away from this episode of bollock-showing, but I fear it's more of an anomoly than a trend.
That and coupled with the fact that all of the Scandis I've met on the interwebs - to the extent you can meet anybody in that sense - have all been anti-American, anti-Israeli, pro-Philistine &c. His brother and I spent a great deal of time together - frequently "dead" time while waiting for the other side to consider our counter-offers - and I asked him about his brother. He admitted that he had only "hazy" memories of him, but he was enormously proud of what his brother had done.
He was also, apparently, initially surprised when he first heard of the "Hero" status of his brother for, as he said to me, "Raoul did only that which any decent man would do under those circumstances."
He also told me (this was some 20 some odd years or so ago) that his entire family fully and completely believed that Raoul was alive and being held prisoner by the Soviets for reasons he could not fathom.
Raoul Wallenberg was a genuine hero in every sense of the word and it does us all good, I think, to remember him from time to time.

"In 1960 the U.S. National Security Council, led by President Eisenhower, formulated a military security guarantee for Sweden. The U.S. promised to help Sweden militarily in case of a Soviet attack against Sweden. As a consequence of this Sweden and the U.S. signed a military-technology agreement. In what was known as the "37-annex" Sweden received access to advanced U.S. aeronautical technology. The access to large amounts of U.S. expertise made it possible to design and produce the Saab 37 Viggen much faster and cheaper than would otherwise have been possible.[2]"

It's a race to see which European city and country become majority Muslim first and the Swedish city of Malmo and Sweden itself are both in contention.

It has been a puzzle why the Swedes first of all let such large numbers of basically the opposite culture to their own pour into their country and onto the welfare rolls. Because of the strong Swedish work ethic, their overly generous welfare was not too badly abused in the past but now since the Muslim/Arabic immigrants have a much weaker work ethic and giant sense of entitlement (people may have noticed but it is politically incorrect to speak of it) the Swedes are being swamped by parasitism.

The politico cited in #154 reasons incorrectly that if they treat Muslims well now, then when Swedes are INEVITABLY a MINORITY IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY, they will be well treated by their Muslim rulers (apparently the man is history illiterate and does not understand dhimmi second-class status). Islam is the only major world religion without a form of the Golden Rule. They will never return kindness for kindness, but run roughshod over their welcomers as they colonize the host country.

There was another Swedish politician whose "solution" to the quadrupled rape rate (mostly Muslim immigrant men raping Swedish native women, links provided by Fjordman here previously) was that SWEDISH WOMEN SHOULD START DRESSING MORE MODESTLY.

In fact, there are Swedish women who now wear a hijab out of fear in Muslim enclaves of their cities.

Though the lesson in free speech to Muslims is welcome (where were the Swedes in solidarity when Denmark was suffering the exact same harassment?), it may be a case of too little too late, unfortunately.

This extinguishing of nations that have been net contributors to world knowledge and aid and supplanting diversity by a benighted culture that has made all the countries it dominates failures both economically and on the humanitarian scale is a terrible, terrible thing. Why did the Swedes (and most European nations) do this to themselves?

166 Cry of defiance and not of fear  Fri, Aug 31, 2007 11:46:08pm

re: #165 siiras

This swamping of European nations with the alien presence of Islam and Moslems has happened by deliberate design of primarily socialist governments. They have used this cult exactly because, as you pointed out, it is so completely antithetical to Western foundations. Their goal was to destroy the basis of the West (Judaeo-Christian and centered on individual rights) in order to erect their own Socialist world order. It's a way of confusing people about their own culture's worth, their own identity and history in order to implant a notion of 'globalism'.

Islam isn't the main enemy: what it shares so clearly with Socialism/Communism/Nazism is a world order to be obtained through violence, subjugation and mind control, all of which begins with demeaning and denigrating freedoms of speech and belief.

It really screws these people up when the "blasphemy" comes from unexpected sources.

The burning flags are rubbishy bedsheets colored with crayons. The effigies look like badly stuffed pinatas or a school kids "penny for the guy" effort.

Someone should cater for these people. There's good money to be made from Muslim rage.. A service that can supply a petroleum-infused flag of any nation, a professionally produced effigy of any celebrity or even a coherent banner - within 24 hours of any blasphemy, will be quids in.

"There is no reason to keep quiet about this question. One must be crystal clear that in Sweden it is not the government that decides what appears in newspapers. Iran should change their own press laws and not try to change ours."

Excellent!
