Majlis Speaker: Muslims should thwart plots of global arrogance....Global arrogance, by hatching various plots, tries to prevent Islamic enlightenment among world Muslim," he said in the letter.

Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali is now in Sudan to attend the 17th executive committee of Parliaments at the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Khartoum.

Referring to the existing problems of the world Muslims, he said continued occupation of Islamic Iraq, continued atrocities of usurper Zionists in the occupied Palestine, creating rift among political wings in Lebanon are among problems of the world Muslim.

...MOSCOW, September 4 - A Russian copy of the Koran, etched onto 162 sheets of 99.9% pure gold, worth $5.9 million, will be exhibited in Iran's capital later this month.

Fourteen pages of the book have already been sent to Tehran for an exhibition of sacred Islamic texts, which will be held from September 22 to October 2, Vladimir Prusakov, the head of the company that ordered the Golden Koran project, told RIA Novosti.

The book is a faithful copy of the Uthman Koran, considered to be the world's oldest surviving copy of Islam's holy book. The golden version even replicates the stain of blood from the assassination of the third Caliph, Uthman ibn Affan, which is still visible on the original.

The Golden Koran was made by the Moscow Mint, over a period of 18 months.

The opening ceremony of the 15th Sacred Koran international exhibition in the Islamic Republic will be inaugurated by the country's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Russia's embassy in Tehran said the presentation would provide an "excellent symbol of cooperation between Russia and the entire Islamic world." [Link: ummahnewslinks.com...]

........Two racist thugs who crept into a mosque and urinated on worshippers’ belongings as they prayed are being hunted by police.

The grinning pair were caught on CCTV as they entered Bath Islamic Centre before urinating on shoes and clothes left by worshippers during their evening prayers.

Detectives have released images of the incident, which they are treating as a hate crime against the local Muslim community.

Listening to Dr. Barkay explain the Jewish and Christian connections to the Temple Mount you further understand why it is vital to stop the destruction of Jewish antiquities on the Temple Mount:

"The Temple Mount is the heart, soul, and spirit of the Jewish people. It is the only holy place that Jews have and it is the place that is identified with the place chosen by the almighty which is mentioned in Deutoronomy. This is the place which is believed to be the place of the binding of Isaac, this is the place where David built the altar on the threshing floor of Aravna the Jebusite to stop the plague, this is the place where the first temple was built and the second followed it built by the returnees to Zion from the Babylonian captivity. This is also the place of the third edifice built on the site by King Herod the Great – that is the building which is so frequently mentioned in the New Testament."

"The temple Mount occupies about 1/6th of the total area of the old city of Jerusalem and this is one of the most important cornerstones of Western Civilization. It is at the moment the focus of a political battle and it is embodies within it the crux of the Near-Eastern conflict as both parties claim to have historical linkage to the site."

"The Temple Mount represents the Near Eastern conflict in a nutshell and whatever happens to the Temple Mount will happen to the rest of the country. If the Temple Mount is under Palestinian rule and there is no accessibility to Jews to the Temple Mount and no control upon the antiquities discovered there that means that the legitimacy of Jews in the entire country is questioned."

"The gigantic stones of the Temple Mount are mentioned in the New Testament; Jesus was presented upon the Temple Mount as an infant, and later in his career he chased away the money changers from the Temple Mount; there are approximately twenty references to the Temple Mount in the New Testament and beyond any doubt the Temple Mount is an integral part of the Christian Heritage... it should be sacred and important to any civilized person all around the world.

"I am amazed that there was a world outcry concerning the blowing up of the statues of Buddha in the Bamiyan Valley by the Taliban Authorities in Afghanistan while the destruction on the Temple Mount didn’t hit the media and there was no outrage expressed."

Kos Scolds the Kossacks, Maccabee Saves the World

Kos seems to think that his site is infested with a horde of group-thinking hamsters. How did he reach this strange conclusion?
....
Bush-Cheney and their agents have been bedazzling the Red States with secret sources for the last seven years. Colin Powell shows the UN a picture of a warehouse like any other warehouse, but we know that warehouse is full of WMDs because Colin Powell has secret sources.

The Democrats have been baffled and nullified by this ploy again and again, and no one had suggested anything like an effective counter-ploy until Maccabee pointed the way to a brighter future.

On the History channel they have a show called "Digging for the Truth" which has just started again. One of the episodes this year is supposed to be on the Temple Mount. The guy who is the host this year is a former fighter pilot and was on "Survivor" some time ago and I believe he has hosted some other shows dealing with military equipment, but anyway in an interview he gave talking about the upcoming season he talked about how "uncomfortable" they felt while examing the Temple Mount site.
I don't know when that particular episode will air.

re: #74 Ed Mahmoud's Sock Puppet

re: #32 Ed Mahmoud's Sock Puppet

Finally, an Atlantic City Hurricane Disaster?

Canadian Global predicts Carolinas to New York Hurricane Horror!

The free to link GFDL not out yet, but has a Cat 2 into Wilmington, NC on Saturday, hugging the coast, with hurricane winds as far North as Delaware and Maryland, almost to Atlantic City, and tropical storm force winds into NYC on Sunday with torrential rains.

This is the predicted Hurricane Gabrielle, now just Tropical Disturbance 99L

OK, it isn't on the Yurpian Community website yet ( [Link: ecmwf.int...] ) but the professional meteorologists who post at the Storm2K blog are saying the 12Z Yurpian Community model shows a Cat 4 hurricane hititng near the North Carolina/South Carolina state line.

To quote:

miamicanes177 wrote:
The 12z ECMWF has a nuclear bomb right off NC/SC border at 96 hours.
NC landfall at 120 hours

The 12Z Yurpian Community model output has reached the free inter-web!

End of North Carolina as we know it.

The 144 hour Yurpian shows the storm as a minimal Cat 1 hurricane right over NYC the next day (Monday morning).

Now, y'all know I love to post cancellation for snow probabilities for St. Martin of Tours in Amityville, NY. Well, if a Cat 1 hurricane is moving over NYC next Monday morning, I predict a non-winter 'snow' day for the school children of the Tri-State area.

Future Hurricane Gabrielle, friend to NYC school children.

************************************************** *****

Meanwhile, on a more serious note, Felix was a Cat 5 at landfall, and while now weakened to a Cat 2, (and losing wind quickly as it enters the mountains), and damage from wind, and now fresh water flooding, and major loss of life, in NIcaragua and Honduras.

It wouldn't surprise me if LGF opponents were sifting through any single link on this site and campaigned to make sure that all the software web control companies know about it.

I think zombie mentioned that at one time it was linked here the breast not bombs story with pictures that zombie did. That is like linking to an african tribe where women's boobs hang down. It's no big deal...and definitely not in the porn category. Perhaps they used that.

Jihad Watch banned again

Then last week I started to get emails from readers again, telling me that suddenly Jihad Watch was no longer accessible at their place of work, and showed up as being banned for promoting "violence," "hate," "racism," or some variation of those things. There is considerable evidence that this is the result of a campaign targeting Jihad Watch and other sites and trying to get net filtering services to ban them.

I don't know what is the motivation behind this campaign, but whatever it is, it isn't truth.

.
.

So far the main problem comes from Sonic Wall, a popular net filtering service. Many people whose employers use Sonic Wall have contacted us in the last few days to tell us that Jihad Watch is no longer accessible. We have appealed to them to change their designation of the site, but to no avail so far. Also currently blocking Jihad Watch is SurfControl, and SafeSurf.

If your company uses any of these filters, or if you are just concerned about the ability of a few malicious individuals to smear and censor the work we are doing here, please contact Sonic Wall, Surf Control, and Safe Surf.

Chaos in Darfur Rises, Arabs Fight With Arabs
New York Times
Some of the same Arab tribes accused of massacring civilians in the Darfur region of Sudan are now unleashing their considerable firepower against one another in a battle over the spoils of war that is killing hundreds of people and displacing tens of thousands. In the past several months, the Terjem and the Mahria, heavily armed Arab tribes that United Nations officials said raped and pillaged together as part of the region’s notorious Janjaweed militias, have squared off in South Darfur, fighting from pickup trucks and the backs of camels. They are raiding each other’s villages, according to aid workers and the fighters themselves, and scattering Arab tribesmen into the same kinds of displacement camps that still house some of their earlier victims. United Nations officials said that thousands of gunmen from each side, including some from hundreds of miles away, were pouring into a strategic river valley called Bulbul, while clashes between two other Arab tribes, the Habanniya and the Salamat, were intensifying farther south. Darfur’s violence has often been characterized as government-backed Arab tribes slaughtering non-Arab tribes, but this new Arab-versus-Arab dimension seems to be a sign of the evolving complexity of the crisis. What started out four years ago in western Sudan as a rebellion and brutal counterinsurgency has cracked wide open into a fluid, chaotic, confusing free-for-all with dozens of armed groups, a spike in banditry and chronic attacks on aid workers. United Nations officials said tribal and factional fighting was killing more people than the battles between government and rebel forces, which, except in a few areas, have declined considerably

This was at the end of the story.......

Editor's Note: Perhaps in addition to examining the fact that wherever Islam, in its fundamentalist form, exists in the world violence is present, the world should inquire as to why Arabs have such a hard time getting along, not only with other people and cultures, but with each other as well.

Mystery at Goose Creek update: Egyptian officials to meet with indicted suspects

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated Sunday that Egyptian officials are to meet with the two Egyptian students charged with transporting explosives in the United States. The students were arrested on August 4 in South Carolina. A federal grand jury in Tampa, Florida has indicted them on charges of illegally transporting explosives over state lines.

“Officials from the Egyptian embassy in Washington will meet the two students at their place of detention on Wednesday,” the ministry said Sunday.

“The Foreign Ministry will spare no efforts in defending the interests of Egyptians abroad as long as they respect the laws of the countries they are in.”

Egypt’s official news agency MENA reported Saturday that Washington denied Cairo’s request to meet with the two men.

Charles: Still getting through from Sprint

OT: Can you say Culture of Corruption? --- Yes, I knew you could.....

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Broward County Sheriff Ken Jenne resigned Tuesday and agreed to plead guilty to federal tax evasion and mail fraud charges after a corruption investigation uncovered crimes in his outside business dealings, federal prosecutors said.
The plea deal came as Jenne faced a possible grand jury indictment on more serious money-laundering charges, and it likely will mean at least a year in prison for the longtime force in state Democratic politics.

Under the agreement, Jenne would plead guilty to three counts of tax evasion and one count of mail fraud conspiracy, U.S. Attorney R. Alexander Acosta said.

"Ken Jenne has been a staple of South Florida government for decades. For many years, he served Broward County well," Acosta said. "But he stayed too long, and in the end, he lost sight of what it means to serve the public."

Jenne made his resignation official Tuesday morning in an e-mail to his employees and in a separate letter to Gov. Charlie Crist.

"I need to turn my attention to myself and my family," Jenne wrote in the e-mail.

Ledeen on US-Iranian policy,

Clinton’s stewardship was an abomination. He allowed the Iranians a toe-hold in Eastern Europe (and thereby helped shape al Qaeda’s modern iteration) by giving the green-light for the mullahs to arm the Bosnian Muslims. He and his national-security team then willfully shunned the evidence of Iran’s orchestration of the Khobar Towers attack (in which nineteen American airmen were killed), adopting an inane courtroom proof standard to establish guilt, ensuring that the standard could not be met by declining to press the Saudis for available evidence, and, when the evidence finally did emerge (through the assiduous efforts of FBI Director Louis Freeh, aided by former President George H. W. Bush), suppressing and ignoring it in the misguided hope of a rapprochement through the 1997 election of a purported moderate reformer, President Mohammed Khatami.

NYC Lifeguard Rescues Shark From Abusive Beachgoers

NEW YORK — A lifeguard in New York's Coney Island beach came to the rescue of a 2-foot sand shark that was being smacked and hit by frightened swimmers.

Chiseled lifeguard Marisu Mironescu, 39, of Brooklyn, said in Tuesday editions of The Daily News that he saw about 75 to 100 people circling the shark off Coney Island's beach and "bugging out."

"They were holding onto it and some people were actually hitting him, smacking his face," said Mironescu, who has been a lifeguard since 1985 had never dealt with a shark until Monday's rescue. "Well, I wasn't going to let them hurt the poor thing," he said.

He grabbed the largely harmless fish in his arms and carried it, backstroking out to sea, where he let it go.

"He was making believe like he's dead, then he wriggled his whole body and tried to bite me," Mironescu said.

If a shark came up to my baby swimming, uhhh...I wouldn't be petting it that is for sure. What a hit piece..not even written objectively.

I don't know the whole story, who the principal is, her background, etc, but I can tell you that some Jewish women believe that the kippah (yes, a Jewish man's headwear) is also appropriate for women. But like a lot of things Jewish, you ask two Jews and you'll get three (maybe more) opinions. For example, very few Orthodox Jewish women would wear the kippah, but others (Reform, Conservative) will. It may mean nothing, in this case.

ROFLMAO -

Fear and loathing in New York: Taxi union says GPS targets Muslims

If they know where the taxis are, they must be trying to throw innocent Muslims into prison -- got it? And some say that drivers who have refused to strike have been threatened.

Conspiracy Paranoia Alert: "Taxi 'Fear' Hike," by Jeremy Olshan for the New York Post (thanks to JC):

September 4, 2007 -- Fear and paranoia are driving the taxi strike planned for tomorrow and Thursday, industry sources said yesterday.

The global-positioning systems being installed in all 13,000 cabs will be used to target and spy on Muslims, according to pro-strike literature being distributed by members of the New York Taxi Workers Alliance, the group behind the two-day walkout.

Airline sacrifices goats to appease sky god

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday.

Nepal Airlines, which has two Boeing aircraft, has had to suspend some services in recent weeks due the problem.

The goats were sacrificed in front of the troublesome aircraft Sunday at Nepal's only international airport in Kathmandu in accordance with Hindu traditions, an official said.

"The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju K.C., a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been.

Local media last week blamed the company's woes on an electrical fault. The carrier runs international flights to five cities in Asia.

It is common in Nepal to sacrifice animals like goats and buffaloes to appease different Hindu deities.

More Fake Photography in the MSM,

The wire service AFP has been one of the more anti-war media entities covering the conflict in Iraq. And if more proof of that is needed, take a look at this picture of an old woman who claims US soldiers fired on her house:

The caption reads:

An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City. At least 175 people were slaughtered on Tuesday and more than 200 wounded when four suicide truck bombs targeted people from an ancient religious sect in northern Iraq, officials said.(AFP/Wissam al-Okaili)

Those two bullets that supposedly hit the poor old woman's house had never even been fired from a gun! What's more, the caliber of the ammunition does not match any in the US arsenal.

Surely this is proof the vast majority of journalists are clueless moonbats: the photo clearly shows two unfired rifle rounds.

This is interesting:

MONCKS CORNER --The family of an Egyptian college student accused of transporting explosives across state lines along with another man facing a terrorism-related charge says their son is not a terrorist.

"It's killing me," Samir Megahed said Saturday of the charges against his son. "We have no charge like this in my family for 400 years. It's killing all my family in Egypt."

Megahed spoke to The Charleston Post and Courier and the Tampa Tribune after visiting his son Youssef at the Berkeley County Detention Center.

...boo hoo hoo...now the interesting part:

Samir Megahed said he told the FBI to go in his house "and look around, and if you find something, take it." He said FBI agents seized a $19 remote-control boat Youssef bought at Wal-Mart for his younger brother, Yassien.

Samir Megahed said 11-year-old Yassien has mangled fingers from a surgery and was using the joy stick on the remote to improve his fingers' flexibility and control.

It was likely a Wal-Mart shopping excursion that put his thrifty son on the road where he was stopped, Samir Megahed said.

"He would spend 10 cents more in gas to pay 2 cents less" at Wal-Mart, Samir Megahed said. He said his son often punched in the locations of low-cost gas stations on his car's GPS.

Pipe bombs and a remote control boat?

Standard ops on all left wing sites. Try leaving 3 pro American messages on Kos or any other Dem's site and they will block you out. I kind of like going through the exercise several times a day just to let them know some people oppose the cowards.

A shark that comes up to swimmers is a problem. I sure wouldn't be writing a hit piece on the scared swimmers.

I'm a mother, the shark wouldn't be alive if it came up to my kid.

The idiot lifeguard was surprised that it turned around to bite him..well fricken duh!

Beating up on a 2-foot sand shark is comparable to beating up a pussy cat because lions have been known to attack people.

Some shark species don't even HAVE teeth; I don't know if the sand shark is among their number. Nevertheless, a 2-foot shark is no threat to a human being, of any age. Might weigh all of 5 pounds.

As to it turning to bite the lifeguard, don't you think even a kitten or a puppy might not do the same thing, acting out of fear and distress, were you to try and rescue it from a vengeful mob?
