Kos Kidz Ranting About David Brooks

Sun, Sep 9, 2007 at 9:58:41 am PDT

One of the few semi-sane people at the New York Times, David Brooks says Bin Laden Sounds Like a Lefty Blogger.

And of course, this simple, obvious observation about bin Laden’s video (with its references to weird conspiracies, JFK, Marxism, and Noam Chomsky, like just about any lefty blog) has provoked seething from the Kos Kidz: Daily Kos: in defense of NOT firing David Brooks.

The very worst thing we can do is whine about David Brooks or any other pundit-turned-panderer comparing bin Laden to left blogs or progressive philosophy.

What are we thinking anyway? I’ll tell you what it’s time for: for us to grow up. To stop thinking we can manage ideas by shutting them up. It’s been tried on us. . .

What we should do? Engage Brooks and show up his a**holery for what it is: a desperate attempt to save his reputation by making look wrong or dangerous those who actually had the right call on the war.

We need to stop complaining about what they say about us. Stand-the-f*ck-up and talk back and expose the lies and self-serving nature of their commentary.

It is not time to shut David Brooks down. It is time for us to STAND UP and PUSH-THE-F*CK back.

I say we take them on... and show how their policies have made bin Laden a hero and a big business. And maybe challenge them on why we haven’t gotten bin Laden... because a dead bin Laden is bad for Halliburton’s business.

Come on David.... you wanna talk dirty... i’ll go toe-to-toe with you.

It’s time. To. Push.The.F*ck.Back.

The new mainstream voice of the Democratic Party.
