I would rank Leftism as the Creed of Death, even ahead of Islam.

Islam kills in small batches. Leftism is about cosmic Death.

I definitely recommend it.It makes the FBI look good. The State Department like wussies more interested in observing diplomatic niceties than protecting Americans. It shows some very troubling aspects of Saudi society that Hollywood loves to ignore plus the bad guys were really Muslims(I really was surprised Hollywood went through with that I didn't think they had the balls to portray Muslims as bad guys)The last 30 min had a realistic running firefight(Jen Garner's fight scene while painful to watch as a guy was very good.Only real troubling part was the last line in the movie nothing major and given human nature probably realistic but I could have done without it.If Hollywood had any brains they would be promoting the hell out of this movie but if it wasn't for the Internet I never would have heard of this movie.

Genius at Harvard

Gustavo Espada '96 writes at [Link: www.thecrimson.com...]

Why, I wonder, at a university, both my alma mater and current employer, whose motto is Veritas faculty members of all people are perpetuating the blood libel of the Islamofascist myth? Planes cannot cause buildings to disintegrate as the twin towers did. Planes alone cannot cause the pulverization of massive amounts of concrete. They cannot cause steel to melt (and yes, the steel in the twin towers DID melt. They cannot cause the tops of buildings to drive through the undamaged bottom portions at the same rate as they would fall through air. They cannot cause neighboring buildings (World Trade Center Building 7) to collapse in the exact manner of a controlled demolition.

No Prof. Matory, planes flown into towers do not cause this kind of destruction. Words cannot convey my disappointment and my disgust at the silence at Harvard with regard to the lies we have been sold about 9/11.

True.

Also: A big dumb mistake that people on our side sometimes do it cite a montage of photos of twisted, ugly leftist women, and then compare it to a montage of the best-looking anti-moonbat women, and say, "All the hot chicks are on our side!"

Uh.

Unfortunately, most young actresses -- who reached the pinnacle of fame precisely because they were extremely good looking -- hew to the Hollywood credo of moonbattism. So one could more easily create a montage of people like Natalie Portman and Kate Winslet and so on and claim all the best-looking women are on their side.

I was hoping the Huskers would beat USC, because the winner of the Texas-OU game early October in the Cotton Bowl needs either LSU or USC to lose to play for the title in January, and LSU isn't a rich kids party school best known for a good football team.

Not just USC. Miami is the ultimate rich kids party school, although the "U' has a decent tropical meteorology school, and if I win the Lotto I'd like to add to my BS in Petroleum Engineering with at least a BS in atmospheric science/meteorology. Miami, FIU, and FSU are the hurricane schools, OU is the tornado school, if I was a rich college student, I'd want to be in Florida. A&M and Texas Tech have met schools, but who wants to live in Lubbock or College Station.

Of course, a theoretical $190 million Multi-State lottery might mean endowing Texas Natural Scinces for $30 or $40 mil, in exhange for resurrecting the met school they killed in the 70s.

But I'm 43 already, so I might just go to the U or FIU or FSU.

To be completely honest, Stephen Georgiou aka Cat Stevens aka Yusuf Islam aka Yusuf was a brilliant songwriter in his day. He wrote many great songs that he didn't even record -- ones that were made into hits by other artists.

(Here Comes My Baby by the Tremeloes, for example, was written by Cat Stevens.)

Sometimes, one must accept: a person's in-born talent is often disconnected from his or her politcal acumen.

Pete Seeger being the penultimate example of that.

Here's an interesting band...Avenged Sevenfold - relatively new, suspecting they are not moonbats from the lyrics:

Shh be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like me motherfucker, you've been at it for too long
While you feed off others insecurity
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds

(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your bestfriend
(Heart bleeds but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection

I've had enough its time for something real
Don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far, a clone

So how does it feel to know that someones kid in the heart of america
Has blood on their hands, fighting to defend your rights
So you can maintain the lifestyle that insults this family's existance
Well, where I'm from we have a special salute we wave high in the air
Towards all those pompous asses who spend their days pointing fingers

Fuck you

Shh be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like the heartbeat of this country when antagonized too long
I'll be damned if you count me in as part of your generous hypocrisy
Collecting enemies

(Tabloid gossip queen, worthless man)
There's no need for us to bury you
(Selfish agenda, once again)
Right this way, you've dug your own grave

I've had enough its time for something real
Don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far, a clone

All the way from the east to the west
We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation
Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems
Pointing the fingers in every direction
Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a fucking thing to the country they love to criticize

Excuse the obscene, ignore the untrue
Depictions we see, try and get through
Admitting mistakes can't hurt
I'm not the last but I sure ain't the first

Shh be quiet, you might piss somebody off

(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your bestfriend
(Heart bleeds but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection

I've had enough its time for something real
Don't respect these words you speak
You've gone too far, a clone

Again, Professor Matory, I hold no personal grudges. Torture fate 'awaits UK deportees

Britain insists that it is safe to send failed asylum seekers back to Congo. Now a repentant secret policeman has revealed the sickening brutality that awaits returning opponents of the Kinshasa regime

But

Ndumba, 40, worked as part of the personal security corps for the former president Laurent Kabila and as a secret police chief. He said it was usual for trusted officials to have more than one 'sensitive' job.

Ndumba said he was involved in many acts of torture carried out at the notorious police headquarters, Kin Maziere, in the capital, Kinshasa. He said those most at risk of rapes, beatings and electrocutions at Kin Maziere are opponents of the government, both in DRC and abroad, and military deserters. Hundreds of people are tortured there every year, he said. Many of the inmates have been deported from the UK, France and Germany.

OT, meant to write this at work. Obituaries in the 'Alcalde' magazine, for Texas Exes. June, of this year, can't remember the name. A guy who joined the Army Air Corps straight from high school, in 1940, before the war started. Became a pilot, earned the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross as a pilot in Korea. Retired from the USAF in 1971 after 31 years, as a colonel. Starts school at UT. Graduates from the University of Texas, in 1973 (remember, he started in 1971!) he gets a BBA from the UT Business school, works 10 years as an auditor for the State of Texas, and retires. Texas Ex Life Member, and a bigtime football fan.

I went to Texas after six years in the military, and I took 5 years to get a bachelors.

I wish I remembered this guys name.

In the Alcalde, on my desk, that has a pic of an Islamist terrorist in a little zoo like cage, photo'd by a profiled Texas Ex who won a Pulitzer at AP, but now working for Getty Images. Walter Cronkite went to UT, and he probably did more to cost the US victory in Viet Nam than any other single American.

But this colonel, now deceased, makes me proud to be a Longhorn.

Called her a "stupid b---."

Then recognized her.

I have all the respect in the world for Jewish folks, just something I read a couple of years back, Ashkenazi Jews roughly tied with Northeast Asians as smartest humans, and although having a very little Ashkenazi ancestry, nice to know we Gentiles aren't super far behind the intelligence curve.

She is in a different universe than Britney. And she is that great. Her raw mastery of emotion and the texture of her voice -- even her songwriting skills -- eclipse the vast majority of other artists out there today, especially considering she's only 23.

Britney Spears is not remotely comparable to Amy Winehouse. That's like comparing Roberta Flack to Scary Spice.

Yes it was about oil, but not in the way the leftists say. It was about not letting a terror supporting dictator like Saddam control the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world, and to stop him funnelling oil money to terrorists. If the US just wanted to have the oil they could have dropped the UN sanctions and bought it. The French, Russians & Chinese were all lobbying to do that before 9-11. Clinton was ready to go along with them.

So who owns the oil now? The Iraqi constitution, forced upon them at gun point by the US imperialists declares the oil the property of the Iraqi people. Stupid Americans forgot to steal it!

The Old Testament forbids tatoos, right?

The OT says a lot of stuff that if taken literally would make modern civilization impossible. It has to be taken in context.

Paul (the apostle) was very good at putting the OT into context.

Internet says Amy Winehouse is Jewish. For Gentiles like me, good to see not very bright (even if talented) Jewish folks like Roseanne Barr (ok, even not talented Jewish folks), Amy Winehouse, Rob Schneider and, for that matter, Babs Streisand.

"Smart" does not correlate with degree of gullibility or common sense.

I had > 1400 on my SAT, in the days when it was hard, and I told the left wingers to go f* themselves.

I was smart.

I think her underlying problem is bipolar disorder...

Yes, she is bi-polar, but it seems she is refusing the meds that would help her, and her drug addictions seem to be too much for her to handle along with her bi-polar disease. IIRC, she is from the East End originally..her talent is enormous, but handling fame so young, and her husband? She really needs help...tough love ,but her parents do not seem prepared to do anything. I know she is not a minor, and is married, but someone really has to do an intervention very quickly.

I think she has been in clinics to detox, but it is all so public. I just pray this kid can get her priorities straight, and get the care she needs..and suspends her career til she really has healed.

Bi-polar disease can be treated, and if she were my kid? I would do my best to get her into care..and also try to reason with her husband, as he must have legal control. And he is a putz.

(but not for long)

New words - I learned something the other day. Someone posted the phrase "hoist in his own petard", which I've heard all my life. I finally looked up "petard", which means an explosive device. As I was looking at this, I came across the word history, and here it is
again, for your enjoyment, in case you missed it the first time a day or two ago:

French pétard, from Old French, from peter, to break wind, from pet, a breaking of wind, from Latin p%u0113ditum, from neuter past participle of p%u0113dere, to break wind; see pezd- in Indo-European roots.]

Word History: The French used pétard, "a loud discharge of intestinal gas," for a kind of infernal engine for blasting through the gates of a city. "To be hoist by one's own petard," a now proverbial phrase apparently originating with Shakespeare's Hamlet (around 1604) not long after the word entered English (around 1598), means "to blow oneself up with one's own bomb, be undone by one's own devices." The French noun pet, "fart," developed regularly from the Latin noun p%u0113ditum, from the Indo-European root *pezd-, "fart."

I had the undying honor of hosting in my home a wonderful woman with the camp tattoo, she then endured the post war in Russian was a Refusnik and finally emigrated to Israel.

She must have been thrilled! And what stories she had to tell. That was a lovely thing for you to do.

The members of the Synagogue we belonged to? Too many tattoos, but that was years ago. And I do not recall seeing any in Brooklyn, when we go there, for a long time.

I am almost 70, and there have to be those who were kids..and not blessed like I was to be a second generation American...who are still alive. And there are still reunions of Jews who were sheltered, at the risk of their own lives, by Righteous Christians, who have been reunited...every so often they are in the metro NY area, and it is on TV.

My grandfather was a US Army paratrooper that helped liberate Ravensbrook. He always looked a little bit like he saw a ghost in the room when he talked about it.

G-d bless him. His reaction was that of a hero. And if not for him and the troops? You can fill in the rest. I cannot imagine what he experienced I have forced myself to look at photos and also newsreels, etc. There are no words.

I have visceral reaction when I get into conversation with those who would minimize the horrors of the Nazis or Soviets. The same types who would minimize the horror were the some ones who closed their eyes at the time, and the same ones who now refuse to see the evil we now fight.

Chics in tatoos do absolutely nothing for me...I'm a Deuteronomy kinda guy...

If tattoos were the worst Ms. Winehouse has done to her poor body, she'd be a lot better off. In addition to afflicting herself with heroin, booze, coke, and anorexia/bulemia, she has obvious self-mutilation scars on her torso (e.g., bosom). Not to mention her pig of a husband.

Major talent, but major problems as well.

I just got back from Fred Thompson's Homecoming in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Lawrenceburg is a small town in South Central Tenn maybe 20 minutes from I-65. The event was held at a bandstand on the square. I didn't get to see Fred, hell, I didn't even get to see Fred on the big screens, the place was so packed. There were IMO 8,000 people there to see / hear Fred. Plus five anti-war protestors (old lefties). Country singer John Rich (Big and Rich) sang and emceed; Sen. Howard Baker introduced Fred.

He hit some big conservative points: pro-life, strong national defense / intelligence, taxes, property rights, federalism... He spoke about guiding Chief Justice Roberts' appointment through Congress (holding Roberts as an example of the type of jurist he would appoint). He also appealed for national unity in our time of war.

A US general had managed to find himself a cow in Germany in 1945. The general was planning to have steak. Somehow the people in Ravensbrook found out about that cow. My grandfather was on guard—supposed to keep the inmates in (to keep army bureaucrats from headaches) and any Germans out. My grandfather "didn't notice" when several inmates left and was "looking the wrong way" when they came back with the general's cow and several chickens. The general was furious. He had Ravensbrook searched thoroughly. As soon as the general left, my grandfather smelled beef cooking.

Syrian UN ambassador: Nothing was bombed in Syria, nothing was damaged

Nothing in Syria was bombed by the IAF, and nothing was damaged - this according to Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations Bashar Ja'afari.

Reports of such an attack are "ridiculous and not true," Army Radio reported Ja'afari as saying on Saturday. Ja'afari added that "Syria does not have North Korean nuclear facilities."

nothing, I tell you nothing..I see nothing, I hear nothing, I say nothing

It is nothing—Now. Thanks IAF.

Your Grandfather was an extraordinary man. Hearing acts of human kindness like that at a time and place where barbarism of the worst kind had ruled is life affirming.

I cannot begin to imagine what your grandfather and his fellow soldiers thought when they saw the unimaginable horror...

re: #244 jcm

whats going on?

Arab governments and the mainstream media in the Arab world have largely ignored the alleged infiltration of Israeli warplanes into Syrian airspace, drawing criticism from the Syrians.

It's not clear at this stage why most of the Arab regimes are not rushing to side with Syria and endorse its claims that Israel had violated its airspace.

I think the Syrians went too far for even the Arabs to support, otherwise they would be grippin'. They were up to something, not just an arms build up. Something that would have resulted in a major smack down.
IMHO.

A true lizard at last, no longer a gecko on the screen! I mostly enjoy the comments but have wanted to jump in at times. Until tonight have had to settle for "attaboy, attagirl," when I agree. Hope I can occasionally make some good contributions to LGF. This is my first post, and so my first contribution is that we are all Americans and it's getting to be crunch time where we work our stuff out and join together as one people. E pluribus unum, not e unum pluribus! May we come to our senses as a country, and soon.

The Islamonazis cannot destroys us, they can cause damage and fear.
The leftists can destroy us.

The leftists weaken us from within, then hand over the keys to the front door to the islamonazis to waltz right in.

In the context of the time, markings where signs of worship to other gods. While now days it's not that blatant, if you care about something enough to make a permanent mark on yourself, where is God in your life?

But, but, but... What about this?

Still open

To sock puppet, or not to sock puppet.

Go for it!

Tonight when I was finally able to register , I think it was during the registration process, I thought I read LGFers were not suppsoed to have more than one screen name ("sock puppet," as I have been reading here).

Are we or are we not allowed to register more than one name?

Does anyone know? I have read from time to time for awhile and I thought "sock puppets" were against the laws of the website.

What are the rules on this? Having more than one name reminds me of eBay, where a seller creates fake buyers with "0" feedbackj points, to drive up the pice of the auction/.

I cant;e remember where I saw the rule but I think it was during registration tonight.

Am I allowed to register several names?

thanks. WHo doe I ask, Chrlaes of Stinky Beaumont?
