-RetweetIslamo-Fascism Awareness Week, October 22

Fri, Sep 21, 2007 at 11:41:17 am PDT

Beginning October 22, student groups across the nation will hold Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

The Week’s events will include speeches about Islamo-Fascism by prominent figures, including former Senator Rick Santorum (Penn State, Temple and UPenn), Sean Hannity (Columbia), Ann Coulter (Tulane and USC), Dennis Prager (UC Santa Barbara), Robert Spencer (Brown, Dartmouth, University of Rhode Island, and DePaul), Daniel Pipes (Northeastern and UPenn), David Horowitz (Columbia, Emory, Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin), Michael Ledeen (Maryland), Nonie Darwish (UCLA and Berkeley), Wafa Sultan (Stanford) and radio talk show hosts Melanie Morgan (San Francisco State), Michael Medved (University of Washington), Martha Zoeller (Georgia Tech), Alan Nathan (George Mason), Mark Larson (to be named) and many others.

A major theme of the Week will be the oppression of women in Islam. The photo accompanying this article, which shows a teenage girl buried before being stoned to death for alleged sexual offenses, will serve as the poster for the protest Week. The stoning took place in Iran. [FrontPage’s description of the photo above may be incorrect; see the update below. – ed.]

The radical Islamic front groups are seething, of course.

Already, CAIR and the Muslim Students Association — which are fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas — are planning to hold counter- demonstrations during the Week called “Peace Not Prejudice.” Since the Islamic radicals whom these organizations represent and defend are among the most prejudiced people on earth, and since their own sponsoring organizations, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, have declared a global war against the West, this can only be regarded as high-order satire. The Muslim Students Association is welcome to sign our petition denouncing Islamo-Fascism and defending the dignity of all individuals, infidels included. It can be accessed here.

UPDATE at 9/28/07 1:06:36 pm:

There is some question whether the photo in the flyer for the event, shown above, actually depicts a real incident of stoning, or whether it’s a still picture from a Dutch film; Bob Owens has a post about the issue.

There’s no question at all, however, that stoning does take place in Iran and other Islamic countries.

Here’s an account of a real stoning carried out in Iran earlier this year, at Kamangir.

"Peace Not Prejudice" is islamo-talk for daw'ah.

I like the idea. But wouldn't the week of Sept. 11 have been a better choice?

5 Lucius Septimius  Fri, Sep 21, 2007 11:43:41am

I'll have to check out how this plays at Emory.

Of course Horowitz kind of likes it when people come out and act up -- that's just way he is. He likes yanking people's chains.

Nice. Santorum will speak at UPENN. Any Philly area Lizards want to come see him with me?

13 egregory  Fri, Sep 21, 2007 11:46:38am

Despite the absolute horror in terms of women and the criminality against them in many Islamic societies, they more or less receive a free pass from the englightened press of the West. It's more criminal to actually take a stand against it than to perpetrate it, in the eyes of academia/media.

Most 'reporters' do not want to die for their 'job'. They go close to the darkness but remain on the side of the light. From that perspective it is easy to see light's shadow and report its dusk; but the darkness remains impenetrable so they say nothing.

21 Just_A_Grunt  Fri, Sep 21, 2007 11:50:34am

Sean Hannity at Columbia? What are the odds he will actually be allowed to speak.

Thanks for posting that Charles. Apparently Rice university is putting on this event, but the university of Houston doesn't seem to be interested, - I wonder why.

31 Lucius Septimius  Fri, Sep 21, 2007 11:58:17am

The topic was, of course, very well chosen. Feminism is THE dominant political force on college campuses -- it trumps all other forms of identity politics. Indeed, the whole LGBT movement is, essentially, just L (they allowing some token gays, but most of them are too busy in actual academic fields to get too involved).

The post says it all -- Islam is the most misgynistic force on the planet, bar none. But this places Feminists in a difficult situation. More most of them, Feminism is merely Marxism "corrected." Take the Communist manifesto, cross out "Proletariat" and write in "women" and cross out "Bourgeoisie" and write in "men" and you've got the program. They are committed to anti-capitalism, anti-patriarchalism, anti-imperialism, and anti-westernism.

So what to do when faced with Islam? To condemn Islam would be to support western bourgeois masculinist Christian imperialism. I've read radical feminists who argue that western feminists must accept their Muslim sisters on the latter's terms: to do otherwise would be to give support to the imperialist war.

Of course, in the process, it is revealed that they don't care about women. They are Communists first, pro-woman only after that.

Horowitz has planned this to force them to reveal their true leanings. The aim is to educate students, but mostly by exposing their teachers.

JEDDAH, 21 September 2007 — Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer and supplication for Muslims worldwide. In efforts to allow people — Muslim and non-Muslim alike — to get a better look at how American Muslims observe the holy month, a web chat will be held on Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. EDT (14:00 GMT).

The web chat will feature Seema Matin, a public diplomacy officer for the US Department of State. Matin will discuss what life is like in America for Muslim women, who choose to wear the hijab, and how she and others are marking the festive season.

Individuals wishing to participate in the web chat can register by logging on to: [Link: webchat.state.gov...]

It would be funny, in my less-than-humble opinion, to have a similiar show called "Ask an Infidel!" with questions such as:

Why no, Sue! You're in America, where you're allowed to do that! Amazing!

Ramadan will end on or about Oct 11 I believe this year. It is tied to cycles of the moon so it could be one day either way. Dinner Jackets promised response to Israel is scheduled for the 12th which is after Ramadan is over.
