Phony Soldier Jesse Macbeth Sentenced

Fri, Sep 21, 2007 at 4:38:28 pm PDT

Jesse MacBeth, the lying scumbag who became a hero of the left when he claimed to be an Army Ranger and alleged that the US military was routinely murdering Iraqi civilians, has been sentenced to 5 months in prison.

A Tacoma man who falsely claimed he was a decorated war hero when he took the stage at demonstrations held in opposition to the U.S.’s role in Iraq was sentenced this morning to five months in prison in U.S. District Court in Seattle. Jesse MacBeth, 23, was also sentenced to three months in a halfway house after his release and three years of probation.

MacBeth claimed that he was an Army ranger who killed more than 200 people, many at close range, including some as they prayed in a mosque. He spoke at an anti-war rally in Tacoma and appeared in a 20-minute anti-war video that circulated widely on the Internet.

In reality, MacBeth made it through only six weeks of Army basic training and never set foot in Iraq.

Conservative bloggers exposed MacBeth in May 2006, destroying his credibility and embarrassing the Seattle company that produced the video about his exploits. ...

PepperSpray Productions in Seattle produced the video titled “Jesse MacBeth: An Iraq Veteran Speaks Out.” In the film, MacBeth told nuanced tales of brutal killings he carried out at the behest of his commanding officers.

“They would actually feel the hot muzzle of my rifle on their forehead,” he reportedly said on the video, which is no longer in circulation.

I guess MacBeth finally got to see Banquo's ghost. Maybe now he'll think twice before committing dastardly deeds.

Five months, though, is not enough. This vile person spread the most serious anti-American propaganda at a time when American soldiers are at grave risk from all sides. A case could be made that he contributed to the deaths of American soldiers because of the hatred of America he helped whip up. It's one thing when our enemies lie. When Americans lie and make up stories about how they participated in massacres in our enemies' homelands, that's treason. This guy should suffer far stiffer penalties for treason.

Who knows how many jihadis got their panties in a wad and went out and killed because of this kind of garbage. Not that they need any reason to hate us, but lies like this coming from an American probably get them more aroused with the desire to kill Americans than anything else, because their Imams can preach it as fact and get them to rush out of Friday services all hot and bothered. This guy is thus responsible for deaths of American soldiers. He is a traitor and should have gotten a much stiffer sentence than this.

As soon as the MacBeth Marine video hit the Internet I smelt a very large rat.

The alternative media community is plagued by deliberate disinformation specialists and gullible individuals ...

In addition, charges are expected to be brought against Marines after an investigation into the killing of 24 unarmed civilians in the Iraqi town of Haditha in November. Congressman John Murtha said that the slaughter and its subsequent cover-up could do more to harm the US reputation in Iraq than the Abu Ghraib scandal. To emphasize, this event carries accurate, unimpeachable, and legitimate evidence of US war crimes in Iraq.

That would be the Charges-All-Dropped, Evidence-Supports-Marines Haditha? That Haditha? Bwahahahahahaha!

Oh yeah, MacBeth was a false-flag plant to cover for the Haditha scandal, which was a false-flag plant to cover for what?

Conservative Bloggers...coming of age? Nice to see acknowledgement without a twist to the negative.

Excellent point, I didn't even realize that. I was so disgusted with what this guy did,

Man, I've looked.

I was sitting at home waiting for a phone call and watched the whole Today Show on-air meltdown. It was unreal.

Bet NBC has buried that deep in their archives.

When the facts are objective and not subject to dispute, people who falsely accuse others should serve the same sentence as the crime they are accusing. Lie about murder...serve a murder sentence.

Nifong should do more than a day.

This shouldn't just be a black eye to PepperSpray Productions. It should have been a death blow.

I think members of the Rangers should file a civil lawsuit against them for defamation of character.

But why stop there? Could General Petraeus and all the other good men and women in the military do likewise?

I was flying out that day from Minneapolis to Washington D.C. in the afternoon and had The Today Show on in the kitchen...where I ended up spending the next 15 hours. I don't want it for its news accuracy, I just want to be able to sit down each year on the anniversary and watch it again. To remember. And to rekindle the embers of fury.

There have been links to downloads of it on the internet but everyone I've found is a dead link now.

Dan Rather has a good case of "I am a God"-itis. He was stone cold busted with the fraud documents. The only thing I don't understand, the thing I never understand, is why don't republicans sue people for defamation in these types of cases.

I'm sorry, but in some ways republicans get what they deserve because they never, or at least, rarely, fight back.

When is he going to run for the Senate?
As soon as he gets out of prison.

And after he gets caught with an underaged girl.

Whoopsie, this is what happens when someone lies a little too much. Let's see, I think I have a thimble around here somewhere that I can pour some sympathy into.

At least one article said that this little creep actually was awarded disability from VA based on his PTSD. Here's a clue for the rest of us: The Clinton holdovers in the VA system have discovered a win-win to undermine the military. It's politically expedient (no calls from "concerned" congressmen) to allow disability, no questions asked. This makes for satisfied disabled vets. The libs, meantime, have a ever-expanding pool of war victims they can use a props for their "we support the (hapless, pathetic, impaired) troops" mantra. Hilary is sponsoring a bill to make psychological testing of combat troops mandatory prior to deployment. That way, "subtle" brain damage can be found when they're retested upon return. Again, it's a win-win. Enlistees are discouraged from the process ("Hey, I want to serve my country and they want to see if I'm crazy or retarded?"). For the hardy few who slog through it all, you can bet that the psychologist who does the retest will find something "wrong." I'm a psychologist and most of them (90%?) are raving moonbats. A psychological "test" is nothing more than a sample of behavior and what you look for, you will often see. More victims found (and more employment for the psychologists who can donate more money to their favorite progressive). At this moment, Clintonista VA types are shoveling claims for disability as fast as they can, even in cases where the vet denies he has any problems. (Who ya gonna believe, the vet or the VA rep, who is a "professional" who gets paid to find people to provide "services" to?)And before you great guys with real problems respond in anger, I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the scammers like Macbeth; I'm here to tell you there are many more like him. And the bureaucrats are paid to not ask the tough questions.

124 Wino  Fri, Sep 21, 2007 9:36:51pm

What was he thinking? He was supposed to run for the Democratic Presidential nomination after lying about his war service.

Piker.

125 Dustyvet  Sat, Sep 22, 2007 3:02:26am

The Veterans Adminastration has an office based at the Bishop Whipple Federal Building in St. Paul, Minnesota which is called the VA Debt Management Center. I wonder if that office is going after this bag of shit, for the $10,000 plus dollars this shit bag stole from the VA hospital service for medical care, he had no right too!

Five months is not enough for what this thief did!

And just how many leftist bloggers are now embarrassed when they quoted this fool? Probably 0 since they are so busy examining the southern end of their large colon that they so proudly installed over their speaking orifice.

PepperSpray Productions in Seattle produced the video titled “Jesse MacBeth: An Iraq Veteran Speaks Out.” In the film, MacBeth told nuanced tales of brutal killings he carried out at the behest of his commanding officers.
