Blumenthal: 'Almost Certainly' Karl Rove Was Behind Rathergate

Thu, Sep 27, 2007 at 2:14:59 pm PDT

The far left’s campaign to rehabilitate the CBS Killian memos and attack the bloggers who discredited them is in full bloom today, as Sidney Blumenthal makes a ludicrous, stupid accusation in an article for Salon.com: Dan Rather stands by his story.

Within minutes of the conclusion of the broadcast, conservative bloggers launched a counterattack. The chief of these critics was a Republican Party activist in Georgia. Almost certainly, these bloggers, who had been part of meetings or conference calls organized by Karl Rove’s political operation, coordinated their actions with Rove’s office.

Rove? Karl Rove?

If only this Blumenthal tool knew the terrible secret of LGF. Rove is the least of your worries, Sidney. Bwahahaha!

Correction:

Within minutes of the conclusion of the broadcast, conservative bloggers launched a counterattack. The chief of these critics was a blogger activist in beneath Denver Airport. Almost certainly, these bloggers, who had been part of meetings or conference calls organized by Charles' LFG minion operation, coordinated their actions with Little Green Footballs subterranean headquarters.

Now it's fake but accurate. BAWHAHAHAHAH!

Fox news story breaking: Iranian Government Ordered Terror Attacks in US

The Iranian government directly ordered an act of terrorism in the Americas after being frustrated in its secret nuclear ambitions, a former chief of Argentine intelligence tells FOX News in an exclusive interview.Miguel Angel Toma, the former head of the Argentina's intelligence service, tells FOX News' Dan Senor that the Iranian government directly ordered a terror bombing on a Buenos Aires Jewish community center in 1994. The interview will air on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on FOX News Channel.
Toma's investigation into a Middle East-style terrorist bombing targeting Argentinean Jews found that the orders for the attack were given at the highest levels of the Iranian government in response to the ending of secret nuclear and missile agreements between Iran and Argentina.

That story says "the Americas" ... it's referring to the attack in Argentina.

By Ahmed J Versi

“He’s a terrorist. I want to see a white doctor,” a newly registered patient is alleged to have said about her Muslim doctor, Dr Zia Hussein, soon after the failed attacks in Glasgow and London.
The incident took place in a doctor’s surgery in Oxhey, Hertfordshire, on July 3.
The receptionist called Dr Hussain for help as she did not know what to do. When he came out of his consulting room to the reception area, the patient allegedly shouted at Dr Hussain in front of other patients, “You are a terrorist. You are not fit to be a doctor. You don’t know your job.” The doctor asked her to leave the surgery.
Dr Hussain told The Muslim News that she was his patient and had re-registered after returning from holiday on June 26. Then, Dr Hussain relates, she made some racist remarks, like, “I don’t trust foreigners. They are not trained here. I only trust white doctors who are trained here.”
Dr Hussain said he was shocked at the patient’s outburst. He had had no problems at this surgery before with any patient. “I believe what she said about me being a terrorist is because of the recent arrests of the doctors who were involved in the failed terrorist attacks,” he said.

This is pure projection by Blumenthal because this is how he operated when he was in the Clinton White House.

He cannot conceive of any other way that the charges by CBS could be responded too unless it was controlled or directed by some White House entity.

This tells us more about the mind of Sid Vicious than it does anything else.

Conspiracy theories are constructed by people who are terrified of the idea that an individual or small group could be the cause behind a disproportionately huge effect. It's all nice and comforting to believe that someone on your side can take on the Man alone, but the moment things start working against you it's the well-orchestrated efforts of a large and well-funded network. Because somehow, it's less scary than accepting the idea that individuals can be that effective.

Saudi Arabia: Bluetooth hit by Islamic edict

Saudi Arabia's top Muslim body has issued a fatwa or religious edict banning the use of wireless Bluetooth technology for sending photographs, video and audio on cellular telephones. Cellphones equipped with Bluetooth are "haram" or prohibited according to the laws of Islam, the Council of the Ulema has declared. Saudi authorities have in the past cracked down on people carrying in shopping malls cellular phones equipped with cameras. It was alleged that such phones were used by men to photograph women illegally.

Islam, the Greeks and the Scientific Revolution, part 2

The reason why the Christian West for centuries didn't have easy access to the Classical learning of the Christian East was because Muslims and Jihad had made the Mediterranean unsafe. It has to be the height of absurdity to block access to something and then take credit for transmitting it, yet that is precisely what Arabs do. As stronger states slowly grew up in the West, regular contact with their Eastern cousins was gradually re-established, starting with the Italian city-states. And as soon as direct contact was established, Western Europeans gained access to the original Greco-Roman manuscripts preserved in Constantinople. They didn't need to rely on limited translations in Arabic, which were anyway made from the same Byzantine manuscripts in the first place, and frequently by Christians. Moreover, Muslims have spent more than one thousand years systematically wiping out Greek culture in the Mediterranean region, a process which continues at Cyprus even into the twenty-first century, which makes it patently ridiculous when they now brag about how much we owe them for their efforts at "preserving the Greek heritage." The efforts of Arabs are, in my view, as overrated as those by the Byzantine Empire are underrated.

To the tune of The Court of the Crimson King
(With apologies to King Crimson)

The Land of the Lizard King

A spawn of Aidemydni had a mission to fulfill;
He landed on the world-wide web and bent it to his will.
The Master built a weblog and from there, a world would spring,
And LGF became the name of the Land of the Lizard King.

Beneath the Denver airport lies a secret bomb-proof room;
The Master sits upon his throne and plots the Morlocks’ doom.
He feasts on gamy buttocks when the dinner bell does ring;
Pure nitrogen sustains his brain, in the Lair of the Lizard King.

His war is for the earthly world; the battle lines are drawn,
Illuminated clearly in the cold reptilian dawn.
The action’s on the internet, the fight is in full swing;
The war is waged upon the web, in the Land of the Lizard King.

The news reports from ’round the globe are posted on his blog,
Selected and presented by the mighty mystagogue.
And while the Master weaves his weblog, tuning every string,
The minions post opinions there in the Land of the Lizard King.

The restive reptiles writhe and swarm upon the comment threads;
Some serious, some humorous, some maybe off their meds.
And when the posting day is done, they need to dance and sing;
They seek the inner sanctum found in the Lounge of the Lizard King.

It’s open registration time, so let the games begin;
The denizens play whack-a-troll, when Master lets one in.
And maybe there’ll be mobies, with the subterfuge they bring;
The banning cane will be their bane, in the Land of the Lizard King.

The Master came and staked his claim within the blogosphere;
His blog became a beacon on the cyberspace frontier.
His work will not be done until the chimes of freedom ring,
For Right and Reason reign supreme, in the Land of the Lizard King.

The annoying thing about Islamists and Communists and those who Pat Santy has I believe helpfully given the technical description of "Loons" is that they do believe in conspiracies and practice and form conspiracies and every now and then bizarly their crazy plots come off. No one was more shocked than Lenin by the Bolsheviks, a sad group of social misfits, ending up in charge of Russia. So Sid thinks maybe a conspiracy can work and damnm it if he isn't plugged into the winning one it must be because of some other even crazier conspiracy.

Guess that pesky idea called life and the market and reality is just less satisfying.

Thousands of classical manuscripts were kept by the East Romans (aka Byzantines/Byzantine Greeks/Rum). The Islamic expansion (euphemism) kept these out of the hands of the West. Then the Arabs graciously let the West peek at them and took full credit for preserving them (they hadn't got around to destroying them yet). Odds are few Arabs even had a clue what was written there.

Arabs are good with camels and swords. Anything else they have they got through the use of camels and sword. They could be decent people. They can scarcely move because of being mired in the morass of Islam.

Beneath the Denver airport?

You don't really think DIA construction was really this bad?

Delays caused by poor planning and repeated design changes due to changing requirements from United Airlines caused Mayor Webb to push opening day back, first to December 1993, then to March 1994. By September 1993, delays due to a millwright strike and other events meant opening day was pushed back again, to May 15, 1994. This earned the airport the tongue-in-cheek nicknames "Done In April," "Done In August," "Delayed Indefinitely Airport," "Democrats in Action," or "Denver's Imaginary Airport" using the DIA initials.

16 months behind schedule and at a cost of $5.2 billion, nearly $2 billion over budget, it all had to go somewhere!

BAWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Rather's 'story' was almost certainly coordinated with the DNC to coincide with the DNC's "Favored Son" (or whatever the hell it was called) attack campaign on GWB. Stop me if you've heard this one; A Catholic, a Quaker and a Baptist meet a dictator.....

Ahmadinejad Meets Clerics, and Decibels Drop a Notch

He took questions from a panel that included a Quaker, a Catholic, an Anglican, a Baptist and a representative of the interfaith World Council of Churches, some of whom separately said they had been criticized by other religious leaders for sitting down with the Iranian president. Given the furor over Mr. Ahmadinejad’s earlier appearances, there was no advance publicity.

The gathering, which included an audience of about 140 other religious leaders, was organized by the Mennonites and Quakers, churches known for their commitment to pacifism.

The organizers said that they had pressed hard to find a Jewish leader to join the panel of questioners, but that those invited declined because they could not win support from Jewish organizations.
.....

Didn't Christopher Hitchens at one point accuse Blumenthal of physically abusing his (Blumenthal's) wife?

I think that was Drudge.

BTW, I saw you comment about the name Noor. I'll update with that point.

Someone will point out the second name - Mohammed. But depending on where you're from, that could be an paternal ancestors name and not indicative of the gender of the person in question. It is my understanding that many people from Afghanistan use only one name.
'Noor' means 'light' in Arabic. Remember the American Queen Noor, nee Lisa Hallaby?

Still, can't find a single story anywhere else by that individual using different variations of the name.

Blumenthal isn't a dope, a tinfoil nut or wingnut.

Sid is just a liar. Learned at the foot of the master, Bubba.

He'll lie about anything if he imagines it will advance him in any fashion.

Ruthlessly.

Its amazing what you can accomplish when you can lie without fear of repercussion. He knows he'll never be held accountable for this lie any more than the multitude he told when he worked, directly, for Clinton.

I don't know why these people don't frighten me more. I guess I just doubt they'll get back into power........then again.........

The little moonbatlings are having a hard time getting emotionally invested in Tail Gunner Joe still ruling the world from his grave, no matter how many lugubrious stories their grandparents tell them, so they need a new sinister arch villain to take his place. If past history is any indicator, Rove will still be behind everything the tin-foil hatters don't like till about 2067. Shoot, they'll probably do a few dramatic movies and crockumentaries about him after he is no longer here to defend himself.

Hmm, I think the Moonbats lack reading comprehension skills. Where's the proof that Bush was lying? I see nothing damning in that memo. Gosh, Moonbats are dumb.

I was in Buenos Aires when the Jewish Community Center was blown up. It was well known that it was a "middle Eastern" operation, and who was behind it- but the President of Argentina at that time was Saul Menem, who converted from Moslem to Catholic to be able to run for President. His wife never converted, and he brother (a Syrian) was the head of Customs at the B/A airport, yet could not speak Spanish! Menem made certain that the investigation of the attack never went anywhere. Buenos Aires has the largest Jewish community of any city in Latin America, about 250K. I'm glad to see that someone, finally, is doing something about the attack.

re: #188 Killgore Trout

The organizers said that they had pressed hard to find a Jewish leader to join the panel of questioners, but that those invited declined because they could not win support from Jewish organizations.
.....
The panelists on Wednesday included the Rev. Drew Christiansen, a Roman Catholic who is editor in chief of America, a Jesuit weekly; Karen A. Hamilton, a Canadian Anglican who is general secretary of the Canadian Council of Churches; the Rev. Chris Ferguson, also a Canadian, who represents the World Council of Churches at the United Nations; and Glen Stassen, a professor of Christian ethics at Fuller Theological Seminary, an evangelical institution.

Jews and Atheists chose not to attend.

Fuller Theological Seminary is an "evangelical institution" only in the most squishy, purple unicorn sort of way. It's sad that in almost every institution, religious ones especially, there seems to be constant left-ward drift. I suppose liberals don't found and fund their own institutions because that would require them to work, earn, save and show initiative. Just easier to infiltrate and corrupt the conservative ones I guess.

HAMAS SEX TAPES!

Hamas has found and is making DVD's available of various PA officials and prominent Palestinians engaging in homosexual conduct.

Fatah was not going to take these charges lying down, so they responded:

According to Fatah, a Hamas imam was recently caught having sex with a male minor in a mosque basement.

In another incident, according to Fatah, a senior member of Hamas's armed wing, Izaddin Kassam, was expelled from his refugee camp after he was caught having sex with a male colleague in a vehicle. And according to a report on a Fatah-controlled Web site, a Hamas man was caught naked together with his neighbor's wife in her bedroom.

"These Hamas people are very immoral and corrupt," said a senior Fatah official. "They use Islam as a cover-up for their crimes. But our people know very well who they are dealing with. We have a lot of information about the moral corruption of many Hamas officials and we will make them public at the right time."

PROOF SHMOOF
See, whatcha gotta unnerstan is that, well, Rove planted all that so called PROOF. Rove is having people killed and you just dont care. The US under Bush is a terrorist state. Its been a terrorist state under Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Daddy Bush and Baby Bush. The only times it hasnt been a terrorist state is when Carter and Clinton were president and there was no homelessness under them either and Iran was our friend when Carter was president and Reagan made them hate us and then he made the soviet socialists - many of whom I've met during the PETA parades and they are really cool anarchists - well, he made them hide in the woods and and, well I dont have to explain to you, you can read, you're just a sheep..... wadaya mean what has that got to do with the fake memo. The memo isnt really fake. thats the whole point. NOBODY has proven it is a fake. Therefore, it must be real.

Edwards to Accept Public Campaign Funds
Sep 27, 4:58 PM (ET)
By NEDRA PICKLER

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards reversed course Thursday by signing onto the public financing system he once rejected with the belief he could raise more money on his own.

The 2004 vice presidential nominee claimed higher moral ground in the debate over money in politics while announcing the change. But it is a consequence of him bringing in far fewer dollars than his top rivals Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"It is worrisome seeing the amount of money that is being raised in this campaign," Edwards said on CNN. "This is not healthy. ... This campaign should not be a fundraising contest."

If Sidney Blumenthal is so sure that the documents are not forgeries, and were actually typed on typewriters that existed at that time and were at that location, then why doesn't he at least name the model of typewriter that was used? He cannot, because such a typewriter did not exist.

JOn the contrary, Charles has shown that the documents matched what was available with modern technology, even down to just using the default settings.

Sidney Blumenthal cannot do this, because such a typewriter did not exist; and he doesn't think it even necessary, because like much of the left he lives in a world of illusion divorced from reality. In his imagination, there was such a typewriter at that time that could do the wonderful things that we take for granted with modern technology, and he lives only in that world of his imagination. Reality? Don't mention it, nor try to bring reality into the world of his imagination.

The reason of the attempt to connect Charles to Rove is that on the left, common sense and logic, as was used by Charles to debunk the rathergate memos does not exist on the left.

I think that Bush and the Republicans in Congress should push for a test before one is permitted to vote. The test would be simple, and that will probably create an uproar from the left, claiming the test is designed to show the ignorance and incompetence of the left. The test will be comprised of 3 Parts. Common Sense (the left has already failed this numerous times. Logic (the (il)ogic used by the left will generate another section failed), Integrity (oh shucks, another failure by the left as the left considers integrity an infrigment on someone's rights).

330 Mich-again  Thu, Sep 27, 2007 9:22:30pm

I waited so long to post on this thread because I wanted the last word. Ha. To say that Rove was somehow involved is to say that he was part of the whole conspiracy to dupe CBS. And thats a hoot.

If Rove had done it, the document would have been plausible upon first inspection, but upon further examination by bloggers it would have been shown to be fake thus launching Rathergate. And that would have been a great caper.

But this one wasn't plausible. Not even close. It was the worst attempt at a forged document ever. C'mon... Using Microsoft Word to forge a memo that was supposed to be from the '60's? Any genuine "expert" would have spotted that in 1 second, and CBS would then have a real story on their hands, tracing back the alleged document to its source. That would have been a bombshell right before the election, and Rove is too smart to have risked that.

To base a conspiracy on the hope that the CBS document experts would be too stupid to figure out that memo was fake would be completely idiotic, and Rove has many times been proven to be an evil genius, not an evil simpleton. Thats why the stupid CT is wrong-oh.

And I'm kidding about the evil part. Karl is a good guy. He can't help it if he's smarter than all of his detractors.

In the projection oriented world of the left, Blumenthal's article means that the left was responsible for the Rather-gate memos and probably much more of a similar nature that we haven't discovered yet.

The article mentioned above means that the left stole the 2006 elections. Their "secret code" is to always claim that the right-wing and/or Republicans are doing and thinking what the left is actually doing and thinking. It is a preemptive strike so that if they caught out they can then say "everybody does it" or "we had to because the Republicans were doing it too".

This was done over and over in the 90's by Blumenthal and his bosses. Worked for them then so why not again. My take is this is a smoke screen thrown up because of Hillary's Hsu and Soros problems.

Of course not, or he wouldn't have said, "almost certainly". What was I thinking? All that matters is throwing accusations, which can be repeated until they are believed.

Blumenthal does not understand that anyone with even a modicum of intelligence and knowledge of typewriters and word processor history would in short order have found those documents fabricated (proportional type).

In other words, Blumenthal, an intellectual midget and incompetent, cannot accept that there are those in the world who are not intellectual midget and incompetents.

Charles,

Are you aware that Wikipedia has your "throbbing memo" on it's Killian Documents page?

Charles Johnson's animated GIF image comparing what CBS claimed to be a 1973-era typewritten memo with a 2004-era Microsoft Word document made with default settings

Actually that was not Charles' first published trial. The first had a significant flaw... all it took was a little button push...

... old guys KNOW what a typewriter can do, and what they cannot, they young guys KNOW that anything can be faked with computer graphics (or what Rove can do for sure...),

... now a few guys in the middle, they KNOW why MS Word has that 'print preview' function... why is that if you type into the most common word processor in the world, MS Word, like Charles did, it would, coincidentally, look ALMOST like the Killian memo... but, like the enigma machine, you run it, results are indistinguishable from the Killian memo photocopies.
