American Airlines Flight 590 Police Report

Sat, Nov 10, 2007 at 5:05:36 pm PST

Annie Jacobsen reports that American Airlines has no intention of settling the “racial profiling” lawsuit brought against them by six Arab Iraqis, and she posts the police report on the incident to show why: Police Report: American Airlines Flight 590.

This 12-page police report explains why American Airlines should never pay these men a dime. It also explains why several names should be added to the 800,000+ name no-fly list — if they haven’t been added already.

Aviation security is a national security issue. There should be a zero tolerance policy in effect for anyone who acts like a bully in airports and on airplanes. Shame on the attorneys who represent people like this and shame on the journalists and news organizations who belittled the female passenger who opted out of having her kids bullied by a drunk actor named Dave Al-Watan. (Each flight attendant interviewed by the police felt the behavior of Al-Watan and his cohorts was belligerent, as did at least one other male passenger interview by police).

The men, it turns out, had been hired by the U.S. Military as “authentic Iraqi” actors in Iraq-war, “role-playing scenarios.” I asked a U.S. Federal Air Marshal what this meant: “Most likely these guys were at Ft. Irwin playing terrorists and insurgents,” he said.

They should have left their role-playing at the army base. Instead, they tried auditioning for FOX news (see police report page 3).

Just for once I would like to hear these "insulted" Islamicists threaten to leave.

But they never do. Sure they complain about the West, but they know a good thing when they see it.

There's something to be said about a culture that produces countries nobody wants to live in. Sure they want Islam to dominate the world, but they don't want to live in it. How's that for a contradiction.

I met a Marine officer in another state a few months ago who was there training & doing scenarios with middle-easterners so I believe that happens.

This guy said they were working with the Marines but then goes on to say they had an Army contract at Ft. Irwin. Are the Marines training at Ft. Irwin too? Just wondering if anybody knows.

If these guys were hired by the military, why can't the military "un-hire" them, and punt their sorry asses back to Iraq?

If I were hired to work overseas, and made a complete ass of myself, I don't think it would come as a complete surprise to me if I were fired and given a one-way ticket home.

From the article above:

They should have left their role-playing at the army base. Instead, they tried auditioning for FOX news (see police report page 3).

Oooookay. So these guys were at a local military base, doing role-playing stuff for the military. Then... let me see if I have this at ALL right. They were on a break and decided to go somewhere on a plane, drank at the airport bar, then decided to "role-play" on the airplane in order to get thrown off. This was done deliberately, for the purposes of making national news and suing the airlines?

Is this right, or am I confused as to what the article and police report is saying?

CAIR: Protecting Muslim Citizens is “Unlawful”

The Los Angeles Police Department recently announced a program designed to gather information on Muslims living in the city. According to the article in Yahoo News:

“The LAPD's counterterrorism bureau plans to identify Muslim enclaves
in order to determine which might be likely to become isolated
and susceptible to "violent, ideologically based extremism ...
we want to know where the Pakistanis, Iranians and Chechens
are so we can reach out to those communities.”

The department apparently plans to collect information with the goal of determining which Muslim communities may be susceptible to the call of Islamist terrorism. Given the significant number of Muslims in L.A., Anti-CAIR believes this Muslim community would be welcoming this plan with open arms. After all, what community, regardless of its racial, political, or religious background wants to have terrorists in its midst? Specifically, terrorists who hide behind a pseudo-religion -Wahhabism- and falsely claim a perverted mandate from a phony god that demands they terror-murder everyone who doesn’t agree with them in his name?

Apparently, the "Muslim community" represented by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) does.

This common-sense plan, which is apparently designed to thwart Islamist extremism, would seem to fit in nicely with CAIR’s supposed devotion to “peaceful” Islam. However, in a letter to the department, signed by CAIR and other so-called representative Islamic groups, along with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the following objection is raised:

"Singling out individuals for investigation, surveillance,
and data-gathering based on their religion constitutes
religious profiling that is just as unlawful, ill-advised
and deeply offensive as racial profiling.”

What is really offensive to North American Muslims, and all other peaceful North Americans, is the presence of terrorists in our communities. Why does CAIR continually fail to acknowledge this simple fact? Why does CAIR consistently side with those who oppose any efforts to reduce the threat of Islamic terrorism in North America?

Answer: Because CAIR is a terrorist supporting front organization that was founded by terrorists, partially funded by terrorists, and wishes nothing more than the implementation of Sharia Law in America ...

(CAIR knows they can’t bite the hand that feeds them!)

Perhaps CAIR is upset that the LAPD didn’t approach them and beg at their feet for help in implementing the program? That the LAPD didn’t throw 30 pieces of silver at CAIR for phony “sensitivity training”?

Once again, CAIR’s active support for Islamist terrorism and Islamist terrorists is on display...to all who will only open their eyes ...

And of course, all six of these Arab men had to fly on the same plane at the same time, right? Just for kicks, I did a search on American Airlines:

[Link: www.aa.com...]

It turned up four different direct flights from Chicago to San Diego (on what is hardly the busiest travel day). And that's just one airline.

Lots of people have returned to a pre-September 11th mindset. I'm not one of them, and I never will be.

OT At summit, Spain’s king tells Chavez to shut up

SANTIAGO, Chile - The Ibero-American summit ended on an unusually heated note Saturday, when an angry verbal spat culminated with the king of Spain telling Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to "shut up."

Chavez, the outspoken leftist leader who called President Bush "the devil" on the floor of the United Nations last year, triggered the exchange by repeatedly referring to former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar as a "fascist."

Aznar, a conservative and a close Bush ally who backed the U.S.-led war in Iraq, "is a fascist," Chavez said in a speech to leaders from Latin America, Spain and Portugal. "Fascists are not human. A snake is more human."

Another Question Planted by Team Hillary?

In a telephone interview with Fox, Geoffrey Mitchell, 32, says he was approached by an operative for the Clinton campaign to ask a planted question about standing up to President Bush on Iraq war funding. The encounter happened before an event on a farm outside Fort Madison, Iowa. The Clinton event was hosted by Iowa State Sen. Gene Fraise.

Mitchell tells Fox that Clinton campaign worker Chris Hayler approached him and asked him to ask Sen. Clinton a question about how she was standing up to President Bush on the question of funding the Iraq war and a troop withdrawal timeline.

Musharraf amends Army Act 1952

* Army empowered to arrest, interrogate and try civilians in military courts

ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday amended the Pakistan Army Act 1952 to empower the army to arrest, investigate and try civilians in a military court if they are found guilty of having committed a crime against defence, security or armed forces of Pakistan.

The president amended the Army Act through an ordinance which had been promulgated with retrospective effect. Crimes committed since January 1, 2003, will now be tried under the amended act.

“The civilians found guilty of having committed offences, which have been included in the Army Act with this amendment, will now be court martialed,” Attorney General Justice (r) Malik Qayyum told Daily Times.

The crimes/offences, punishable under the Explosive Substances Act 1908, Prejudicial Conduct under Security of Pakistan Act 1952, Pakistan Arms Ordinance 1965, Prevention of Anti-national Activities Act 1974 or Anti-terrorism Act 1997 and sections 109, 117, 120B, 121, 121A, 122, 123, 123A, 124, 124A, 148, 302, 353 and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code or attempt to commit any of these offences, will now be tried under the act. “It is not a new thing as similar laws are in practice in India, United Kingdom and the United States,” he told a private TV channel, Online reported. staff report/online

Emergency won’t affect war on terror: Sherpao

* Minister tells US, Canadian envoys emergency will be lifted after normalcy returns

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said on Saturday the imposition of emergency rule and political unrest in the country had not affected the government’s commitment to fight terrorism and extremism.

“We are hunting terrorists with more power after the imposition of emergency rule,” the minister told US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W Patterson and Canadian High Commissioner WD Collins at separate meetings with them.

Sherpao said Pakistan would continue collaborating with Canada and the US against human smuggling and terrorism.

“Efforts are underway to bring peace in Swat and Tribal Areas of the country,” he told Patterson. Pakistan, he added, itself was a victim of terrorism.

Lifting emergency: The minister told Collins that the government would lift the emergency when normalcy returns to the country. “President General Pervez Musharraf will fulfil his promise and hold general elections,” he added.

You know, I'm a pretty darn nice guy and like to live & let live. I'm a Christian, which means I don't tolerate our employees treating each other bad because of their beliefs. It sickens me to be on the receiving end of someone trying to make an issue where there isn't one.

I've long admired King Juan Carlos. Even though the fascists groomed him to uphold their power, he was instrumental in restoring democracy after Francisco Franco's death, and he was absolutely amazing in 1981 when he faced down the attempted coup to restore fascist rule. He went on TV and basically said "over my dead body." To this day, I'm impressed with that. He called, and the other guy blinked.

What I said was pretty much along the lines of, "Tell me your complaint." Then I took notes for our counsel. When he was finished I said, "I cannot discuss internal matters with you." In the end I just want people to do their jobs.

I can agree with that. In fact, it's one of the very very few situations I can think of where a zero-tolerance policy is appropriate.

Unfortunately, the libs in this country would much rather have ZTP's in far different places. Like punishing small children who bring a squirt gun to school, or college students who say something about Islamofascism, ("Hate speech", you know), or publishing news-worthy cartoons depicting Mohammed, (Peace Be On His Sorry Ass), or Larry Summers for daring to suggest that men and women might after all be different somehow, or anyone who even dreams of putting a quasi-religious symbol like a xmas tree in a quasi-public place, or any Republican who refers to his own personal video stalker as a "macaca" (whatever the hell that really means), etc, etc, etc.

Here's a true tale of a Muslim Brotherhood propagandist hoisted by his own petard.
Justice is served both ways...

KHARTOUM (AFP) — Ten people were sentenced to death on Saturday in Sudan for the 2006 murder and beheading of a prominent Islamist journalist, a judicial source said.

Amid tight security, a judge in the Bahri criminal court in Khartoum pronounced the verdict, which came at the end of a trial that lasted nine months, following a five-month police investigation.

The 10 accused, who belong to the Fur tribe from the troubled region of Darfur, were found guilty of the killing of Mohammed Taha Mohammed Ahmed, editor-in-chief of the pro-Islamist newspaper Al-Wifaq.

The 10 did not react to the verdict while members of the victim's family shouted "long live justice."

Ahmed's decapitated body was found in the capital Khartoum in September 2006, a day after he was abducted by armed men from his home in north Khartoum.

Ahmed, considered to be close to the Muslim Brotherhood, had strained relations with the government of President Omar al-Beshir, who came to power with the backing of Islamists.

He escaped an assassination attempt in 2000 after writing an article hostile to the ruling National Congress Party.

The journalist was arrested in 2005 after being accused of writing an article on the family of the Prophet Mohammed, and publication of his newspaper was suspended by the Sudan authorities.

In his defence, Ahmed said it had been a misunderstanding and he was released, despite street demonstrations and radical Islamist groups demanding he be put to death.

Ahmed had also angered rebels in Darfur after articles harshly criticising them were published in his newspaper.

Capital punishment in Sudan is by hanging. The ten have the right to appeal, the source said.

Even reading between the lines of the MSM story, it really looked like another 'flying imams' incident. If those guys were triggering such reactions from the flight attendents and some passengers (and I'll bet that there were some passengers who just didn't want to get involved, but had the same reaction), the ONLY thing to have done was to go back to the gate.

Have to say, I'm not shy about pointing things out to flight attendents these days. I don't care what color or language of fellow passengers, if you *hide* your still-on laptop when the announcement comes to turn off all electronics, I'm going to tell the crew. I'm not backing down from other passengers who shout "nosy" or "not your business." Hell, it IS my business if you're on the same plane as me and are NOT following crew directions. And if you're behaving like these drunken idiots, same goes. If they were really military 'contractors,' they'd know better. Hopefully, their little sidejobbing is over.

12 MB's arrested in Egypt

Okay everyone, it's time for mental gymnastics. How many drinks have you had? Even if you're stone cold sober, can you explain this to me?

Police detained the Islamists late on Friday and charged them with belonging to a banned group, the sources said. The detentions bring the number of members in custody to about 90.

The government says the Muslim Brotherhood is an illegal organisation and regularly detains groups of members without charge, often for months at a time.

But members of the group standing as independents hold one fifth of the seats in parliament, and the Brotherhood has an office in Cairo and can operate within limits.

How do members of an illegal, banned group hold 20% of the seats in parliament? Oh wait, I've got it! It's an Arab Muslim country! Never mind.

Surely they had to know that an airport or airplane is no place to act up or look belligerent in. I think that this whole incident was cooked up between them, if not for terrorism, then with the intent to sue the airline. Creating a situation in order to get money through a lawsuit is a type of fraud. There is probably not enough evidence to convict them for that unless one of them decides to say something or there was a witness.

Three reporters from Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper have been ordered to leave Pakistan in the next 72 hours for an editorial the paper ran that used an expletive in an allusion about President Pervez Musharraf.

The three - Isambard Wilkinson, Collin Freeman and Daniel Macelroy - were the first reporters ordered out of Pakistan since Musharraf imposed emergency rule a week ago.

The editorial also said Musharraf governed with a "combination of incompetence and brutality" and has become "part of the problem" in the battle against militants

94 Thanos  Sat, Nov 10, 2007 7:14:55pm
NABLUS: Palestinian police confiscated 40 home-made bombs in their first foray in years into the militant centre of the West Bank's Nablus city, a senior official said yesterday - a new sign of President Mahmoud Abbas' resolve to impose control across the West Bank.

Abbas has recently reinforced the police contingent in Nablus as part of his law-and-order campaign, meant, in part, to dispel Israeli fears about his ability to rein in militants under any future peace deal. Security forces loyal to Abbas were routed by Hamas militants who seized control of the Gaza Strip in June.

Nablus police chief said officers seized the homemade bombs, most of them pipe bombs, from houses in the Old City, a downtown market area ruled by militants. Police entered the area in co-ordination with gunmen who belong to a violent offshoot of Abbas' Fatah movement, but did not demand that they disarm, a faction leader said.

It was the first time in years that police entered the neighbourhood.

More AQ killed at FOB Hammer

FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER, Iraq - Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment engaged an insurgent force with small arms and multiple aerial assets Nov. 6 at Combat Outpost Cahill near Salman Pak, resulting in the death of at least one insurgent.

Soldiers manning guard tower positions on COP Cahill engaged insurgents with small arms fire following a suspected al-Qaeda indirect fire attack on the post. A battalion mortar crew fired six 60mm mortar rounds and one 120mm mortar round in response, as well.

Lt. Col. Jack Marr, from Minneapolis, 1-15th Inf. Regt. commander, believes the daytime attack is proof of al-Qaeda's desperation. He stated an increase in economic alternatives and improvements in essential services that have coincided with his unit's presence in the area as being "points of pressure" on the terrorist organization.

"Before our arrival, al-Qaeda enjoyed a certain level of tacit support from the people," Marr said. "With the help we have provided, with more jobs and restoring essential services, the people are realizing they can stand on their own and separate from these (insurgents)."

Soldiers on COP Cahill reported that two 60mm mortar rounds landed on the outpost and two to three rounds impacted near the outpost shortly thereafter. Both Company A and B Soldiers of 1-15th Inf. Regt. engaged a small enemy element with machine guns and sniper rifles during the initial contact.

There really needs to be a stiff penalty for these types that pull this stuff. And I sure hope the names get added to a no fly list.

I feel sorry for the victims that spoke up and stood up for themselves. As a mother, I'm VERY aware of anything around me and I don't care if anyone ridicules me, keeping my family safe comes first and other people's feelings frankly doesn't even enter my mind or judgement.

exactly. the reactions of passengers on this plane was reasonable, given what we have learned abt. terrorism since 9-11. if people, up to and including, surprise: m.e. drunken belligerent aggressive males, make a spectacle of themselves at an airport or on a plane, well hello assholes, how abt. several yrs in jail for you, you hollerers of fire in a crowded theater or bomb on an airplane. game over for this shit. let's inforce the laws. the criminal penalties for these scammers of the system.

Most people just want the airport/flight experience to end ASAP (frequent traveler). I've seen things at airports that make me wonder just who is running the show and at times think that instead of flying that driving, even long distances would be preferable to flying.

I had a goober once move my laptop bag from one over head compartment to another. Once the plane landed I said to him "rather ballsy moving another person's luggage around, isn't it?" That resulted in a stare down. If I wasn't so damned tired then I would have called for a flight attendant and told her that I suspected that the guy may have been tampering with my luggage. That would have resulted in the flight being delayed/canceled and some very angry people on board that plane.

Since September 11, 2001, I've been increasingly amazed at the varied forces arrayed against common sense and the everyday garden variety American civilization. Today I had dinner with my niece, who would like John Edwards to win the presidency because she's "for unions."

Gaak. I thought she had some brains, but I guess not. Anyway, we sensible people really need to take a stand for basic civilizational values. The groups you list above are a good cross-section of the groups we need to fight tooth and claw, bow and arrow, hammer and nail, whatever it takes to push back against the narcissists who think that the world is all about "me, me, me."

Dr. Sanity writes great stuff about these kinds of people. Too bad for me that I know so many of them personally.

Seriously, they are all certified kosher...so they are suitable for a member of the cult of islam also.

Anyone that can get a photo of a female in a burka, or a guy in a gown chugging a bottle or can of the ham or latkes flavors could make a fortune!

If they like "roll playing" so much, water board 'em. Let them play that role.

You are exactly right about what the police report said. These idiots actually seemed to plan to get thrown off the airplane. How much money do you think the courts will be foolish enough to give them for this stupidity?

Charles: is it too early to nominate King Juan Carlos of Spain for Anti-Idiotarian of the Year?

I second that nomination.

Hundreds of years ago, yes; castrati were prominent in many operas. Today, those roles are filled by countertenors.

in very tight jockstraps?

LMAO! I have no idea how they hit the notes - and I don't think I want to.
