BNP to speak to Oxford Students, along with David Irving. The mainstreaming and legitimation of anti-semitism and Holocaust denial, as merely one point of view among others, continues in academia.

Hell, they've got the testicular diameter to knock on Charles's door.

Just got done reading the article about a woman and others jeering injured soldiers at a public pool claiming among other things that they (the soldiers) didn't pay and that their missing limbs frighten the children. Oh please, God, someone think of the children! sarc///!

This is disgusting behavior that should not be tolerated in any decent society.

On the beheading in front of the children, I am so happy we're killing bad guys.
On the Israel/Palestine conflict - nobody promised Israel a zero deductible. World opinion will change though. Remember what it says in the Bible: God blesses those who bless the Jews, and curses those who curse the Jews. Can you imagine a more cursed people than the Arab nations?

Amazing how fast things move in the Internet age. Barely a month after the first blowup over the Brussels conference, and already those who have embraced the embracers have got to be embarrassed and dismayed to see who's waiting to join the chorus line.

Belien leads to VB leads to...BNP?!?

GoV leads to CVF leads to...Le Pen?!?

Took all of one month.

He had an agenda. He's all about Serbian pride and anti-jihad in that neck of the woods. That's fine, but when he couldn't get the lizards to sign on to that particular trip, he got frustrated. Nothing evil about it, but it gives you the air of a opportunistic salesman rather than a friend.

Israel recognizes Arab initiative for Saudi backing of Annapolis

JERUSALEM – In exchange for Saudi Arabia attending this week's U.S.-sponsored Israeli-Palestinian conference in Annapolis, the Israeli government agreed to recognize the importance of a Saudi-sponsored "peace initiative" in which the Jewish state is called upon to evacuate the strategic Golan Heights, the entire West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, WND has learned.

WND obtained a draft Israeli-Palestinian declaration to be presented at the Annapolis conference and to serve as an official outline of a final settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority

The wording is still being negotiated by both sides, but according to Israeli diplomatic sources, Israel agreed to a Saudi request that the declaration document include reference to a Saudi-backed Arab Peace Initiative, first presented in 2002 and reissued earlier this year at a meeting of the Arab League, an umbrella association of Mideast Arab states.

When it was first revealed, the Arab Initiative was heavily criticized by the U.S. and Israel because the text requires the Jewish state to withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza and allow for the creation of a Palestinian capital in Jerusalem, including the evacuation of the Temple Mount - Judaism's holiest site.

The Initiative also called for a full withdrawal from the Golan Heights, strategic mountainous territory that looks down on Israeli population centers and that was twice used by Syria to launch ground invasions into the Jewish state.

But now Israel has recognized the Arab Initiative as a precondition for Saudi Arabia to attend the Annapolis summit, according to diplomatic sources in Jerusalem.

While Israel doesn't commit itself to the Arab Initiative's requirements, a clause in the current draft of the Israeli-Palestinian declaration slated for the Annaplis conference and obtained by WND reads: "We recognize the critical supporting role of Arab and Muslim states and the importance of the Arab Peace Initiative."

The draft declaration is subject to final changes up to Tuesday's summit.

Interesting. Could the falling dollar and rising euro be part of an anti-EU plan? This article is openly wondering if the EU can survive the skyrocketing of their currency... apparently its really hurting sales at big corporations like Airbus, who's CEO says:

the company's business model is "no longer viable", and "massive losses" are on the horizon.

As for the demand that he repudiate his alleged past: why is the above not a sufficient repudiation? Why would he need to grovel before certain Americans who know virtually nothing about him or Flanders?

This is the quintessence of arrogance. Filip Dewinter is not going to repudiate anything based on our demands. He is not aware of our demands, and would consider them impertinent and irrelevant to his cause if he were aware of them.

Why would he need to dance to our tune in the first place? What good would it do him to abase himself before the American gods of PC?

Until recently, Holocaust denial has been blocked from Western universities but I would like to point out that Communist Mass Murder denial, for which there is not even a recognizable term such as the Holocaust and which has over fifteen times the fatalities has been perpetrated by innumerable professors at every university for decades.

Academics who are adept at sweeping over a 100 million deaths under the rug would find little challenge in adding another 6 million to the shameful mountain of dismissed and dishonored dead under their oriental carpets.

That's freakin' cool!

Barstow... Barstow...

*diddledy, diddledy*

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like, "I'm feeling a bit light-headed; maybe you should drive..." And suddenly there was a terrible roar and the sky was filled with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming: "Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?"

Then it was quiet again. My attorney had taken his shirt off and was pouring beer on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. "What the hell are you yelling about?" he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with wraparound Spanish sunglasses. "Nevermind," I said. "It's your turn to drive." I hit the brakes and aimed the Great Red Shark toward the shoulder of the highway. No point in mentioning those huge bats, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough.

Wait, what?

The Saudis think that the West will be more receptive to their Koranic brutality if we "know" that the rape victime was "guilty" of adultery.

This goes to show how out of touch the eveil empire really is.

They should realise two things

1) We think they are lying
2) Even if they are not. Even if this woman was shagging every man in Riyaddh with a rose between her teeth, their punishment stinks. Any punishment stinks.

Rescue Dawn, the film based on Dieter Dengler's experience in a Laotian PoW camp is out now on DVD. Saw it for sale at Walmart last night. The story is horrifying and amazing...

Tortured with razor-sharp bamboo and fed alive to ants: The story behind one PoW's incredible escape from Vietnam

Flying low over the dangerous and impenetrable Laotian jungle on a bombing mission against the Viet Cong, U.S. Air Force Colonel Eugene Deatrick saw a lone figure waving to him from a clearing below.

He continued on his flight path, but ten minutes later - puzzled that a native in this hostile terrain would try to attract his attention - he decided to turn back for another recce.

This time, he saw the letters SOS spelt out on a rock. Beside them stood an emaciated man dressed in rags, waving the remains of a parachute over his head and signalling desperately.

Deatrick radioed headquarters, who told him that no Americans had been shot down in the area, and instructed him to carry on. But the man continued waving, mouthing over and over again: "Please don't leave."

Eventually, at Deatrick's insistence, two rescue helicopters were scrambled. Dropping a cable down to the frantic figure, they winched him on board. Fearful that he could be a Viet Cong suicide bomber, the crew pinned the six stone man to the helicopter deck and searched him - his backpack turned out to contain only a half-eaten snake.

Almost beyond speech, the man whispered: "I am an American pilot. Please take me home."

Complete and total ass-hattery ignorance. Or 'they' actually 'think' they know what they are talking about.

Think of it this way Killian, the poster who 'thinks' they know what they are talking about....was once possibly thought of as a fool....now with the typed word of their posts.....all doubt has been 'removed'.

Evidently, that's how it works (?) /worked.

I was a graphic artist back then and there was a serious issue with people "taking" stuff submitted on spec and using it. I ran into the actual law (it was either the Copyright Law of 1976 or 1978 - who remembers!?) when I took a Business Law course in grad school.

You know, there's a lot of brilliant people posting here at LGF. I mean seriously smart, and I'm not only talking about what they do in real life. Some folks are just geniuses when it comes to clear and concise remarks, or just hilariously funny one-liners (humor is a lot harder than it looks!). If I were the insecure type (which I'm not - probably because I'm too stupid ;-) I would be mighty intimidated. As it stands I am comforted by the fact that there's three people here dumber than I am.

There used to be four, but Ed left.

Vunderbar: US is‘worst’ imperialist: archbishop

THE Archbishop of Canterbury has said that the United States wields its power in a way that is worse than Britain during its imperial heyday.

Rowan Williams claimed that America’s attempt to intervene overseas by “clearing the decks” with a “quick burst of violent action” had led to “the worst of all worlds”.

In a wide-ranging interview with a British Muslim magazine, the Anglican leader linked criticism of the United States to one of his most pessimistic declarations about the state of western civilisation.

Good Morning Lizards

The archbishop of Canterbury in the UK has criticised US foreign policy in an article to a muslim lifestyle magazine.

I appreciate that a lot of folk in here are serious about religion but over here in the UK, folk are more secular. They feel that the church is out of step with the needs of ordinary folk. I feel this is just an example of why people feel this way.

re: #113 littleoldlady

That's true, to a degree (also via Dark Ages). That does, in fact work, especially for artwork because it's easy to tell the difference between an original and a print. But for the written word, what's to stop someone from, say, copying what you just said, and smacking that symbol on it? As in...

There was a law (disclaimer: I studied this back in the Dark Ages before the internet) that stated that merely putting a copyright on your original material protected it.
© leepro 2007

Then it becomes he said/she said and could fall either way. Some legitimate cases have actually been lost this way.

A perfect safeguard is to mail the original to yourself, registered/return receipt. When it arrives, DO NOT OPEN IT, but hold it for if/when a court case arises. Bingo!

From Al-Ahram's continuing but unintended chronical, Buy High, Sell Low; Bigth Trouble Cometh This Way: Looking east - Gulf and other Arab states should think seriously of striking a strategic alliance with Iran

The recently concluded third summit conference of the leaders of OPEC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, must have had more than oil and dollar value on its agenda. For Arab producers, the protection of this much- coveted commodity must have loomed high, particularly now that the price per barrel of oil is flirting with the watershed value of $100. This opens out on the larger question of the security and stability of the troubled oil-rich region. The need for a new, home grown Middle East security alliance is becoming a pressing necessity as the geopolitical and military situation continues to deteriorate.
[...]
At a time when regional economic, political and military alliances are sprouting in every region of the world, it would make great sense that Gulf and other Arab states build a regional economic zone and a military defence pact in association with Iran.

/littleoldlady, AmeriDan trust me we are normal compared to these.

I'm shocked also Suzette. I haven't been posting here here long, but I remember reading some of the guy's posting over at GoV & that Gulf Coast spot. I lurked here for a long time before I mustered up the courage to give it a go and throw in my own $0.02. One thing I can't understand is why any former poster would go such lengths to attack the very person who offered them a forum in the first place.

I'm not kissing up to Charles, and I really wouldn't lose any sleep if he banned me from this site - life goes on.

When I first registered, I e-mailed Charles and told him I was also posting at a different website (one that typically spews anti-Bush/anti-Christian rhetoric) and a few weeks after I registered here, Charles did a story on the founder of the site that I told him I was coming over from.

I kept my trap shut when Charles posted his story about the guy, in part because he (the owner of the site I was coming over from) offered me a forum to publicly express my views (on his dime) and I personally felt it would take a very sorry person to stick a knife in the back of someone who offered me the opportunity to express my POV at his expense.

In my own honest opinion, any former poster who goes on another site and bashes the owner and posters of a site they used to identify with needs to re-evaluate some things in their own lives.

It's Charles house. We're guests in it. If you show disrespect, then don't be surprised to find yourself out on your ass.

Good Morning to all of you.

Does anyone know whether the 1389 chart was accurate? I find it hard to believe. Every blog has its ups and downs in traffic depending on its focus (my traffic has also dropped off this month compared with the previous two, but this week may cure that).

For what it's worth, Charles continues to maintain his TTLB ranking, but I don't think that's what matters to him and I don't think he's doing this for the money either (although he must be making money off it because he has to support himself somehow). I honestly believe that Charles wants to have a place online where a group of people he would consider friends if he met us in 'real life' can discuss the issues of the day. Friends who have disagreements don't start calling each other names. (By the way, there was a great article about this in the JPost over the weekend). Obviously, Charles can speak for himself, but that's what I think his vision of LGF is.

Hello everyone. Two linked posts from Harry's Place for you.

The Oxford Union is an Institution that Hosts Fascists

The membership of the Oxford Union Society has voted to allow the fascist, Nick Griffin, to speak at a "Free Speech Forum" which it has organised. David Irving has also been invited to the event.

The Oxford Union is under no particular obligation to invite fascists to address its membership. It does, however, have a perfect right to do so.

What this means, therefore, is the the Oxford Union is an institution that hosts fascists.

The poisionous, absurd, and thankfully marginal views of fascists are not within the boundaries of sensible, mainstream debate. I think that such opinions fall within the same category as those of football hooligans, or of people who believe in kirlian photography.

The Oxford Union disagrees. Either, they are an institution which puts on meetings in order to provide their members with a nasty, but thrilling, spectacle. Alternatively, they are an institution which in fact believes that the views of fascists are part of the mainstream of political debate.

I don't think I'd really want very much to do with such a club.

A number of other people share the same view. June Sarpong, the Labour MP Chris Bryant and Defence Secretary, Des Browne have cancelled their appearances.

This pretty much sums up the way I feel:

An adviser to [Des] Browne, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity in line with government policy, said the defense chief believes the debating society has the right to invite Irving and Griffin. But Browne does not consider it appropriate to speak in the same place, the adviser said.

More Hosting of Fascists (part 1)

Ibrahim Mousawi is apparently 'not such a bad character!'. At least that's what a poster on the UCU activists' list would have you believe. In fact, our poster continues, he's 'similar to George Galloway in many respects!'. I don't know if Mousawi has ever dressed up in a red leotard and pretended to be a cat. But it's certainly a comparison that made me sit up. Galloway of course gets quite enough coverage as it is. So I want to use this post to say a few things about this Mousawi character.

If you surf the net you'll find Mousawi is a Ph.D. student at Birmingham University. His area of research? Well, he's the co-author of an academic article on 'Hizbullah's Jihad Concept'. Which is interesting. He also gave a speech in Belfast last year that covered the war between Israel and Hizbullah. Oh, and he's been the editor of Al-Manar ('The Beacon'), Hizbullah's satellite TV channel. So that should make him well-placed to know a thing or two about Hizbullah.

What else? Well, Al-Manar has circulated rumours that 9/11 was a Zionist conspiracy. And it has broadcast a Syrian-produced series called 'The Diaspora' which is based on 'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion' – a conspiracy theory that has been doing the rounds for more than a hundred years about how Jews plan to dominate the world. I should add that this soap opera contains a disturbing episode showing Jews killing Christian children so that they can use their blood to prepare ritual food. And when the French broadcasting authority proposed banning Al-Manar for inciting antisemitism Mousawi complained that this was because of 'political pressure by the Jewish lobby'.

Mousawi has also been reported in the New Yorker magazine as saying that Jews are 'a lesion on the forehead of history'. His defence: he was misquoted ('daily atrocities by Israeli occupation forces in Palestine are a lesion on the forehead of
humanity'). Really? Then how does he explain what the leader of his terrorist organization said to the same magazine:

"If we searched the entire world for a person more cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble in psyche, mind, ideology and religion, we would not find anyone like the Jew. Notice, I do not say the Israeli. (New Yorker, Oct. 14, 2002)

Elsewhere in his defence Mousawi claims to have been 'actively involved in building relations with Jewish communities.' This bridge building includes bringing 'rabbis from Britain and America over to the Lebanon' in 2005 'to take part in a convention on the question of Palestine'. Who were these rabbis? Adherents of Neturei Karta, including Yisroel Weiss. That's of course the same rabbis who attended the holocaust denying conference in Tehran sponsored by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

So why all the fuss?

Well, Mousawi has been invited to a Stop the War Coalition event initially billed – without Orwellian irony –as an 'international peace conference'. It's now, however, simply the 'World Against War Conference'. Perhaps because the organizers have realised that Hizbullah aren't really that into peace.

Now Mousawi has previously been refused a visa by the Irish government when he planned to speak in Galway. And as you'd expect there's also strong opposition to his presence at the StWC event.

Which is where the University and College Union (UCU) comes in.

Yes, that's right: UCU. The union whose delegates at this year's congress voted to debate the boycott of their Israeli colleagues. Well now some of their activists are at it again on their infamous list. Only this time the subject is Mousawi's appearance at the 'World Against War Conference'.

re: #270 MigueldowninMexico

re: #266 Carl in Jerusalem

How do you say it in English, Carl?
Prunning?

That might be a way of putting it (with one n by the way).

I don't think Charles is looking to ban people. But I also don't think he wants people in his house whom he feels are stabbing him in the back. Look at our late, lost weatherman, for example.

286 Shemesh  Sun, Nov 25, 2007 3:03:52am

More Hosting of Fascists (part 2)

Because UCU is affiliated to the Stop the War Coalition it matters to them who speaks at this event. The matter was first raised when a concerned activist asked:

"What does the UCU think we can learn from this person [Mousawi]? Why would anyone value a critique of Zionism known to be based on a hatred of Jews? If the UCU thinks we should be opposing the 'war on terror', does it want to do so by supporting representatives of terrorist organisations whose stated aim is to kill Jews and destroy?

Here's some of the things her fellow UCU activists have said in response.

'[I do not] accept that it is necessary to vet speakers invited by our affiliated organisations. Such a stance would make a mockery of academic freedom ... As far as I am concerned, I would support an invitation to a speaker from Hezbollah.'
(S.W., 20 November 2007)

'Mousawi is not such a bad character! In fact he is similar to George Galloway in many respects !'
(B.N., 20 November 2007)

'I am extremely disturbed by statements [attributed to Mousawi] but I am not sure whether Mousawi said this, or it was a mistranslation, or someone else said it in the programme in question ... You are, I believe, well aware of the problems associated with conflating Arab rejection of Israel with European anti-semitism ... Anti-semitism is far more than collocating the word Jew with a negative ... It is part of the collective tragedy of Zionism that, along with imposing a colonial project in the Middle East, it has breathed new life into a racist discourse that should have long been consigned to history.'
(S.W., 20 November 2007)

The "Israel lobby" operates by branding all criticism of Israel as anti-Semitic and seeking to close down debate. It was instrumental in urging the Iraq invasion.'
(B.W., 20 November 2007)

'It seems clear to me even if half the accusations against Mousawi are true, he has to be considered an anti-Semite ... The question we then have to ask is – what follows? ... should Mousawi be at the StWC rally? Here I take [the] common sense view that if the organisation's current priority is to prevent an attack on Iran, and he speaks to that brief, then he has a place. Such is the nature of coalitions. If he uses the rally to promote blatant anti-Semitism then he is out of order and it is a job for whoever is chairing the meeting.'
(B.W., 22 November 2007)

'What S.W. said was that this anti-Semitism is being caused by Israel, not that it was being caused by Jews ... So now Arabs, who had no systematic history of anti-semitism, have picked up some of the most disgraceful outputs of European anti-semitism as a means of getting back in propaganda what they have lost in every other way ... I abhor this use of anti-semitic propaganda even though I can see just why it is happening.'
(R.A., 23 November 2007)

'What this Stop the War issue shows is the way the protection of Israel comes before everything else and in everything whether it is a discussion relating to domestic or international issues. And if this is there in our union and it clearly is then it should be out in the open. So I must say, I am quite glad that some of these ugly postings are being seen for what they are. This protection of Israel at all costs approach is about doing exactly what it is doing right now. There is no clarity. It is like a madness.'
(KH, 24 November 2007)

Institutions should be free to invite anybody they want to speak at their meetings.

We can, however, judge precisely the sort of organisation the Stop the War Coalition is, by reason of its invitation to Mousawi.

The UCU and its membership can tell the STWC how they feel about their hosting of a rally addressed by Mousawi. Or they can remain silent.

Campaign veterans say Armstrong has political potential

DALLAS — Cycling champion Lance Armstrong is drawing admiring reviews from campaign veterans for his role in pushing for cancer research money, and they say he may have political potential.

Armstrong lobbied the Legislature and campaigned for Proposition 15, a $3 billion bond issue for cancer research that voters approved this month. Armstrong toured in a bus and made television appearances with former President George H.W. Bush.

I noticed that. It is terribly surprising to me that some people cannot tell the difference from good from evil. The roots of the ideological tree are evil. Therefore the fruit from this tree will be rotten. No ifs, ands or buts on this.
No matter how they dress it up and mask themselves, their evil still shows through. Purity of the blood and one with the land. Blah!
The sad thing is some people think it is in such desperate straights instead of turning to God, well they turn to haters. To me the situation isn't a hot war or so dire you link yourself up with an evil ideology. No good shall come from this.
Just my 2 cents.

I've been all over the place in the last two weeks, reading all kinds of things to learn a bit about what's going on.
We in America can not really fancy the actual reality of Europeans.
Ahem. I hesitate to say it, but Bigel is not so far off mark.
Their reality is completely different from ours. Our countries are based in a common nationality for all, and preety diverse -this goes for most Latin American countries too. We started a new course around two centuries ago and both have been quite divergent.
I'm glad I'm on this side of the pond, but I'm very sad for those at the other side, even if Bigel is right.
When I think of all the good things Europe has given the world I feel like crying to see them in such a conflict. There's practically no way to turn for the "normal" European. Religion could be a bond trascending all categories, but most of them have dump it...
A mess....

The practice of sending a copy of your own work to yourself is sometimes called a “poor man’s copyright.” There is no provision in the copyright law regarding any such type of protection, and it is not a substitute for registration.

Islamists protest US naval presence for cyclone relief

Dhaka, Nov 24 - Several hundred activists of the radical Islamic group Hizb ut Tahrir staged protests here before the arrival of two ships of the US Navy for distributing relief supplies among cyclone-affected people.

Two warships, USS Essex and USS Kearsarge -- each carrying 20 helicopters and 3,500 marines on board with emergency relief supplies, medical and emergency evacuation teams -- are scheduled to enter Bangladesh waters Saturday and Tuesday.

The protesters Friday carried a banner reading 'Prevent American ships from entering the Bay of Bengal in the name of distributing relief' and chanted slogans 'Go back to America' and 'US has no place in Bangladesh'.

I'll venture a guess that, just as in Iraq, not quite everybody in Bangladesh agrees with these crazies.

re: #303 BlueCanuck

Good morning.

Bigel was a legendary LGF member, banned about 2 years ago. His views were rather extreme. Most of his family perished in the Holocaust and he hated Europeans for their anti-Semitism. However, contrary to popular memory, he was not banned for his views but for repeatedly stirring up fights between other members. Charles said he didn't need the aggravation.

WRT your comment on "pure societies". You are right to be afraid of that phrase. Look back over the 20th century, and any time a party or ruler has called for a Pure (fill-in-the-blank) Society... and you will find mass graves followed soon after.

To be honest littleoldlady I never in my lifetime thought something like that would rear its ugly head. That antisemitism would come around again.
So sad.

Suzette,

A few years back when I really started to pay attention to what was going on I happened to be talking to my aunt (who, along with my mother, survived Auschwitz) about it, and she said,

"Vat? You're surprised that there's people who hate the Jews? There always were, and there always will be....have some rugalach!"

Some things you can't change. It doesn't matter what they do. What matters is what *we* do in response.

Arch-doofus of Canterbury makes an ass of himself yet again: "US is 'worst' imperialist"

Get a load of this moronic Kumbaya fantasy:

(Arch-shaman) Williams went beyond his previous critique of the conduct of the war on terror, saying the United States had lost the moral high ground since September 11. He urged it to launch a “generous and intelligent programme of aid directed to the societies that have been ravaged; a check on the economic exploitation of defeated territories; a demilitarisation of their presence”

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,”
Very first words of the Bill of Rights. And thank Cthulhu for that.

Fortunately, there might be 11 people in the whole of the British Isles who take this pathetic fossil seriously as any kind of leader (and five of those are Muslims).

Nevertheless, the anti-American bigots in the media love to quote him when his views agree with theirs, which is most of the time. He can't really be as stupid and naive as he seems.

These people are not crazy or ignorant, they are evil.

Ed is perhaps a good person. I liked him. But when he refered to Charles in a very dimishing fashion on another blog, I was amazed. I couldn't believe that he would be capable of insulting an old friend.
He was banned because he was saying very bad things about Charles. Not on GoV, somewhere else.
If I don't like someone I'd say it here or anywhere. Same for the people I like. But talking about someone you were smiling to so many times, and in a very diminishing way, that's nasty.
This rift has taken away people I used to feel friendly for. Unfortunately. And some of them are chosing the wrong company at the same time.

Ok, I said enough.

Now that's a horrible thought: US troops fighting fascists in Europe. Again.

That's the arrogance of these European counterjihadists who have welcomed the racist parties. They call Americans arrogant for telling them what they should or should not do. Like many Canadians, I have relatives buried in Flanders in WWI. My uncle died fighting the Nazis in WWII, his body never recovered from the North Sea. So, thank you very much, Canadians & Americans have paid dearly for the right to have an opinion on the subject.

Making peace with Syria will prevent "the next war" and isolate Iran, Meretz MK Ran Cohen said Sunday after a Syrian lawmaker announced that his country would "almost certainly" participate in this week's Annapolis peace parley.

'Peace with Syria will isolate Iran'

Making peace with Syria will prevent "the next war" and isolate Iran, Meretz MK Ran Cohen said Sunday after a Syrian lawmaker announced that his country would "almost certainly" participate in this week's Annapolis peace parley.

What to make of that? There's only one problem with that argument: Syria doesn't want peace, because the Syrian regime needs the constant threat of war to stay in power.

There's another problem: Israel can't take the chance of giving Syria what it wants for 'peace.' And certainly not for the kind of 'peace' we have with Egypt, where we're still the target of all their war games.

There are tens of miles of dessert between Israel and most of Egypt. The Golan Heights have a commanding view of much of Israel's agricultural heartland, and were used regularly to shoot at Israeli civilians before 1967. They are the prototype for 'strategic high ground.' I discussed the difficulties of making peace with Syria recently here and here. As you read those posts, please keep in mind that the negotiations with Syria fell apart in 2000 because Israel wanted to keep a beachhead of a couple of hundred meters on the east side of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). That ought to tell you all you need to know about the Syrians' true intentions.

The Nazis Were Maxists

The Nazis were Marxists, no matter what our tainted academia and corrupt media wishes us to believe. Nazis, Bolsheviks, the Ku Klux Klan, Maoists, radical Islam and Facists -- all are on the Left, something that should be increasingly apparent to decent, honorable people in our times. The Big Lie which places Nazis on some mythical Far Right was created specifically so that there would be a bogeyman manacled on the wrists of those who wish us to move "too far" in the direction of Ronald Reagan or Barry Goldwater.

================================================== =

Karl Lowenstein in the 1940 book, Governments of Continental Europe, writes that there was a convergence in Bolshevism and National Socialism regarding private property, and that this was clear long before Hitler and Stalin became allies. Such things as freedom of contract, inviolability of private property, and the right to dispose of one's estate were cited as examples of the deep-reaching restrictions in both totalitarian states. National Socialists were socialists. They had nothing but contempt for what socialists call "capitalism" or what normal people call economic freedom. While it is convenient to portray Nazis as beholden to industrialists and militarists, even from the earliest days Nazis loathed not only industrialists in general but armament makers in particular. The Nazis raised taxes, punished profits, reduced the power of owners, of managers, and of directors and championed the right of the state or the party to "protect" Germany and German workers from abuses of "capitalists

The Odd Alliance Supporting Ron Paul

"Republican consultant David Hill condemns the candidate's ‘increasingly leftish' positions. Syndicated columnist Mona Charen calls Paul ‘too cozy with kooks and conspiracy theorists.' Film critic and talk radio host Michael Medved looks over Paul's supporters and finds ‘an imposing collection of neo-Nazis, white Supremacists, Holocaust deniers, 9/11 'truthers' and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists.'"

Goldberg is the exception.

GQ magazine just named Ron Paul one of its "Men of the Year." Yep, the man described on the website of ex-KKK honcho and convicted fraudster David Duke as "our king" is now officially a male trend setter.

Jerusalem police went on red alert Sunday in the wake of intelligence warnings over an impending terror attack in or around the city, police said.

The heightened alert came two days before the US-sponsored peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.

Police were conducting spot checks on vehicles at the entrances to the city, causing unusually heavy traffic congestion in the capital, and were increasing border police patrols on the northern and southern outskirts of the city.

Magen David Adom rescue services went on the highest state of alert in the wake of the announcement of the police red alert

"I belonged to the Maghawir (interior ministry commandos). I urge anyone else working with them to leave and repent to God," said one of the men shown in the video, as they sat on a floor in front of the black flag of the self-styled Islamic State in Iraq. Others made similar "confessions".

Stop astronomy before it's too late!

"New Scientist reports a worrying new variant as the cosmologists claim that astronomers may have accidentally nudged the universe closer to its death by observing dark energy, a mysterious anti gravity force which is thought to be speeding up the expansion of the cosmos."

We're doomed. If the CO2 doesn't get us, the fatal flaw of looking at the universe will. Like some modest virgin of years gone by, the universe will not suffer herself to be looked at.

There's only one solution.

Humanity must stop looking at the universe. No more romantic stargazing with your inamorata. No more school trips to the observatory. We must pass laws that will punish people from looking at the sky. Smash the telescopes. Stop those Quantum people from thinking. And above all, Stop Astronomy! All those astronomers do is make things worse by looking, always looking like some maddened cosmic voyeurs ... .

christheprofessor,

G-d bless you for you rescue of your new friend for life.

If you are taking suggestions, may I offer a name taken from a dearly departed canine friend of a human friend of mine; a dog who was majestic in size, tender in heart, and fast enough to make the leopards nervous.

His name was Roller.

re: #392 TimeQuake

There is a whole dovetail fringe contingency where far right and far left become one.

One area of this convergence can be found in "National Anarchism"
another example can be found in " Progressive Nationalism"

The tie that binds them is always Jew hate which also neatly binds them both to Islamic Fascism.

Always we return to a "holy war" based on the hatred of the God that the Jews brought into the world.

People that consider the left the only problem on earth do not like to acknowledge that the "right" has an extreme fringe so they have worked hard to make sure "National Socialism" is perceived as lefty, but it actual practice these particular nationalistic asses are mostly living on the far right.

Nationalism, National Socialism has billed itself for over 65 years as the only alternative to communism and as the vanquisher and fighter of communism in Europe.

This in it self necessarily placed it on the "right wing" against the left.

In Europe this is part of the problem, people believe that only those like Vlaams Belang will fight communism, because for the last 65 -70 years they are truly the only ones who really have .

Same reason why in my research all I really find to counter the white nationalists comes from the communist and socialist left.

Seems to me the Right wont even acknowledge that the extremists exist never mind fight them , may people are pissed at me right now for even speaking about it.

Being neither right nor left myself I have no reason to deny right wing extremism.

All totalitarian extremes read as a form of satanic communism to me once they are analyzed

Jerusalem goes on high terror alert

Security forces in Jerusalem were on high alert Sunday after police received intelligence that terror operatives planned to carry out an attack.

Roadblocks were set up at the city's entrance, patrols were increased, and security was shored up in public areas.

Security forces were conducting careful checks of people seeking to enter the city.

Rape, physical abuse, and racism. What was supposed to be just a night out for two young girls turned into a brutal nightmare. Six young men from the Arab-Israeli towns of Qalansawa, Lod and Taybe stand accused of raping an intoxicated 16-year-old girl in Netanya two weeks ago. Throughout the rape they swore "dirty Jew" and beat her.

An indictment was filed Sunday morning in the Tel Aviv District Court against the six men, between the ages of 20-25, accusing them of rape, sodomy and causing injury. According to the indictment, the young girl and her friend went out for an evening in Herzeliya, later coming to Independence Square in Netanya. There they sat and drank from a bottle of vodka they purchased in a kiosk

We live in a very sick world...........

Injured soldiers who lost their limbs fighting for their country have been driven from a swimming pool training session by jeering members of the public.

The men, injured during tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, were taking part in a rehabilitation session at a leisure centre, when two women demanded they be removed from the pool. They claimed that the soldiers “hadn’t paid” and might scare the children.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation. Adml Lord Boyce, a former head of the Armed Forces, said last night the women should be “named and shamed”.

“These people are beneath contempt and everything should be done to get their names and publish them in the press,” he said. “It is contemptible that people who have given up their limbs for their country should be so abused when they are trying to get fit again.”

It comes after calls for the public to do more to welcome home troops back from tours of duty and to recognise the bravery of those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I never heard this before: Silence in Syria, Panic In Iran

One of India's top ranking generals assigned to liaise with the Iranian military recently returned to New Delhi from several days in Tehran - in a state of complete amazement.

"Everyone in the government and military can only talk of one thing," he reports. "No matter who I talked to, all they could do was ask me, over and over again, 'Do you think the Americans will attack us?' 'When will the Americans attack us?' 'Will the Americans attack us in a joint operation with the Israeli s?' How massive will the attack be?' on and on, endlessly. The Iranians are in a state of total panic."

Any idea why that link takes you to the bottom of the article and how to avoid it in the future?

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. I'm happy to say that global warming is at an abeyance today - it will be cold and crisp. Perfect fall weather actually.

The NYT does a sob story routine on ICE doing its job and arresting illegal aliens in the course of a sweep for illegal alien gang members.

The Times also fronts the story about how the Administration is cutting back on its political goals in Iraq. Even as the security situation stabilizes and is improving, the Times has to find something to bitch about.

Linda Boyd (who?!) at the Seattle Dumb as a Post Intelligencer, wants impeachment begun against the Administration now. And she'll settle for nothing less.

The WaPo runs with the Bilal Hussein story and says that he was arrested for telling the story that the US military didn't want everyone to see.

Right. Cozying up with terrorists and being caught with al Qaeda as they were plotting. That's the story that the US military didn't want us to know? Maybe that's what AP didn't want us to know.

We know that Reuters didn't want anyone to know about Jamil Hussein after it was found by bloggers that his stories were nothing more than exaggerations and falsehoods.

Government Halts Illegal Immigrant Employer Crackdown to Rework Rules

WASHINGTON — The government says it will rewrite rules for penalizing employers of illegal immigrants to try to satisfy a federal judge in San Francisco who put the crackdown on hold.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer stopped the Bush administration last month from going ahead with enforcement of regulations requiring employers to fire workers if their Social Security numbers did not match records and the discrepancies could not be addressed in 90 days. In issuing the temporary injunction, the judge said the Social Security database contained errors that could have cost many legal workers their jobs, and the government did not properly study the effect of the rules on business.

UK's head snakeoil salesman says America and modernity stink but Islam's just fine.....
US is‘worst’ imperialist: archbishop

THE Archbishop of Canterbury has said that the United States wields its power in a way that is worse than Britain during its imperial heyday.

Rowan Williams claimed that America’s attempt to intervene overseas by “clearing the decks” with a “quick burst of violent action” had led to “the worst of all worlds”.
....
He went on to suggest that the West was fundamentally adrift: “Our modern western definition of humanity is clearly not working very well. There is something about western modernity which really does eat away at the soul.”
....
In the interview in Emel, a Muslim lifestyle magazine, Williams makes only mild criticisms of the Islamic world. He said the Muslim world must acknowledge that its “political solutions were not the most impressive”.

He commends the Muslim practice of praying five times a day, which he says allows the remembrance of God to be “built in deeply in their daily rhythm”.

Carl--as lawhawk said, installing Haloscan will allow you to manage comments, as well as run trackbacks. Very useful. In fact, IIRC, lawhawk was the one who recommended I do that last year.

But note it wipes out the previous comments you already have, or at least it did for me. Since I was new to the game though, it wasn't as if I had that many to begin with.

You can also block comments from IP addresses, which comes in handy.

You can still use the old template, but you'll have to add new code to enable haloscan. If you go to the haloscan site, they run through the process. It's pretty painless if I remember correctly.

O.T. even for this thread
Spending time with the family over the holiday made me think alot about the libs and most people left of center.
My sisters husband is a moonbat,He is also suffering from BDS.
Makes me wounder how these people make it through life, they have no common sense and cannot have an original thought of their own.
How can all these people skate through life so easily and be relatively successful ?
I am conservative and all my life i had to bust my ass for everything i accomplished, and always went out of my way to help others which libs almost never even think about.
Does anyone have an explanation ?
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and stayed safe .
David

He said the crisis was caused not just by America’s actions but also by its misguided sense of its own mission. He poured scorn on the “chosen nation myth of America, meaning that what happens in America is very much at the heart of God’s purpose for humanity”.

What's he got us mixed up with Pilgrims or something? When's the last time anyone heard that "chosen nation" stuff? Yeah, banging your head on the floor 5 times a day does bring you closer too "allah", I'm seeing stars already.

The Iranians were freaking because they've been buying the same Russian systems as the Syrians and thought that it was sufficient to deter anyone from attacking.

The Israelis managed to get in, attack, blow stuff up, and get out, without the Syrians knowing what happened until stuff was already blowing up.

Iran doesn't want the US or Israel to know just how precarious the situation is. The Syrians don't want the West to know what was hit because it would end up badly for the Syrians - and perhaps even the Iranians, North Koreans, or other third parties.

My own sense is that the Iranians and North Koreans leaned heavily on Assad not to complain about the attack because it would bring more attention to what was really going on and that Israel was more than justified in taking action it did - and that action against Iran and/or North Korea would be forthcoming.

Condoleezza, Condoleeza,
Bush has named you
To head up the ambush in Annapolis.
Is it only ‘cause his crony, King Abdullah,
Has tons of oil and despises Zionists?

Do you know what you are doing, Condoleezza,
Or are you flailing in the dark and up a creek?
Many ‘Rabs have arrived at your doorstep—
They’ll lie there and they’ll cry there.
Are you blind, are you nuts, Condoleezza
Or just a wishful-thinking Foggy Bottom sneak?

Do you know what you are doing, Condoleeza,
‘Cause to me it seems you don't know what to do.
Many ‘Rabs have arrived at your doorstep—
They’ll whine there and they’ll dine there.
Are you cracked, are you deaf, Condoleezza,
Or just a well-intended hen without a clue?

Condoleezza,
Condoleezza.

LONDON (Reuters) - Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, leader of the world's Anglicans, has launched an attack on the United States, saying it has lost the high moral ground since the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Williams, a longtime critic of the war in Iraq, said in uncharacteristically blunt language: "We have only one hegemonic power at the moment. It is not accumulating territory, it is trying to accumulate influence and control. That's not working."

Asked in an interview with the Muslim lifestyle magazine Emel, if he thought the United States had lost the high moral ground since the 9/11 attacks, he replied "Yes".

To CTP:

Congrats on the new pup. When we lost our basset a year ago due to illness, I got a new lab female from the humane society. A sweeter, more loving dog you can not find. It will make your Holiday a little brighter, and hers as well.

Some of you may remember, I mentioned a few months back about a relative (wife's aunt) who had been diagnosed with cancer - inoperable. Well, the lady passed away yesterday. :( There was nothing the doctors could do.

The aunt had not gone to a doctor in years for a check-up, did not believe in them and was too proud to admit that she might need a doctor. So when she started feeling poorly, she had waited until way too late to go in and get checked. By the time she did, the cancer had spread.

So folks, please get a regular check-up and don't be too proud to go in if you have an odd pain or problem arise.

The Vatican plans to respond positively and very soon to an appeal by Muslim scholars for an unprecedented dialogue between Christianity and Islam, Roman Catholic cardinals and Islam experts say.

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - Glen Sunyich has seen flames ravage the canyons and mountains above Malibu three times and has been thankful his home was spared. The fourth time, he wasn't so lucky.
Sunyich's home was among 49, along with two outbuildings, that were destroyed by a fast-moving wildfire pushed by Santa Ana winds. Twenty- seven other homes were damaged and 10,000 to 14,000 people were evacuated.

For the second time in little more than a month, residents like Sunyich were left to survey the damage left by flames in Malibu.

Nigeria: Riot in Unimaid Over Alleged Sacrilege

The University of Maiduguri in Borno State was yesterday closed down mid way into semester examinations, following rampaging protests by students over alleged "blasphemy" against Islam.

The protests, sources said, followsallegation that a non Muslim student had used pages of the Holy Quran to clean himself up after excretion.
.....
Eye witness told Weekly Trust that students numbering about 100 marched and sang "Allahu Akbar" in unanimity, chasing students across the school premises.

(IsraelNN.com) "As bad as Annapolis seems on the outside, the truth is that's 1,000 times worse." So says an IDF General Staff member who is personally involved in the contacts with the Americans and Palestinians, as quoted by Makor Rishon columnist Caroline Glick.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni have departed for the United States, where they are to take part in the international summit at Annapolis, Md. this Tuesday. In addition to the major concessions that Olmert is expected to announce at the summit - in principle, if not in full detail - it appears that the United States backs the Palestinian Authority positions against those of Israel.

Namely, the PA wishes to obligate Israel to agree to return all the land captured in Israel's defensive Six Day War of 1967, accept up to millions of Arab refugees and their descendants, and allow outside parties - most likely the United States - to decide when and how the parties must fulfill their obligations.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.

Make sure you get a regular check up though, seriously. You never know.

A couple of weeks ago I thought I was checking out permanently. One minute I was eating breakfast, the next thing I knew I woke up in the emergency room with jumper cables hooked up to my chest and they thought I was having a heart attack.

Ended up just being a food allergy, but it had my wife going, I can tell you.

I told them not to worry about a heart attack cause I don't have a heart. The Mrs. failed to see the humor.

Upshot was, after they figured it was a food allergy, they gave me some sort of antidote and I was fine. But now I can't eat peanuts.

The Mrs. had to run home in the middle of all this cause we had out-of-town visitors. When the hospital was done with me they said I had to wait there until someone came to get me. Well, that did not set well with me, so I just got up and walked out and walked about 6 miles home. You should have seen the look on my wifes face when I walked in the house.

"How did you get here, cab?' she said.

"Walked" I responded.

She says it's like having another toddler around the house :)

It's a lot of work with pups - but it's worth it in the long run.

When we first got him, he had a skin condition that they told us would probably never go away. It's completely gone now. We think it was caused by stress.

Our Shepherd is terrific now. He used to wander a bit when he was first trained off-leash, but he stopped that. Now he guards our Ponderosa and chases squirrels and deer. Happiest dog in the world. :)

Speaking of dogs...........

BOISE, Idaho — Candace Jennings rescued Anna, an abused stray dog, from the animal shelter.

During a Thanksgiving Day fire, Anna returned the favor — twice.

Anna, a blond heeler, nudged Jennings about 3:30 a.m., whining and howling. Jennings, who had fallen asleep on the couch, awoke to find her mobile home engulfed in flames.

"Anna woke me up," Jennings said. "I had an awful headache. The place was filled with smoke."

Jennings and Anna ran outside, but then Jennings remembered items she couldn't let burn.

"I'm a janitor in town," she told the Idaho Statesman. "I had everyone's keys in my backpack. I had to go back and get them."

She crawled back into her burning home in Idaho City, about 40 miles northeast of Boise. Anna followed her in, keeping close by her side.

But Jennings, an artist who has lived in the mountain town since 1975, said she became disoriented and was quickly overcome by smoke. She tried to get back out but crawled in the wrong direction, heading toward the pantry instead of the door.

Anna showed the correct way.

"I couldn't find the door," said Jennings. "She pushed on me, she nudged me out the door."

The roof collapsed as Jennings, barefoot and wearing only pajamas, and Anna ran to some nearby trees in the 15 degree temperature. Jennings suffered burns to her feet and then frostbite. Anna and two other dogs Jennings has were not injured.

"She's a hero," said Jennings as Anna ate an omelet at restaurant on Friday.

How is everyone today?

I'm doing great, waiting for the Bears to get clocked by the Bronco's today. There are some real good left tackles that should be available in the draft round the 10th slot next year.

I want the Bears to lose out to get the higher draft picks. I have faith in them that they are capable of losing their last 6 in a row.

In pro-sports you want to either be real good or real bad.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — A teenage girl was locked up on theft charges in an Amazon jail for weeks with 21 men who she said would only let her eat in return for sex, according to authorities, setting off a national scandal over the treatment of women by Brazil's justice system.

The 15-year-old said she was required to have sex with at least two inmates, police spokesman Walrimar Santos said by telephone Thursday from Belem, at the mouth of the Amazon River, where the victim was transferred after nearly a month living with male inmates.

By her account, officials did nothing — until the story erupted in the national media and outraged Brazilians demanded her transfer

TOKYO: North Korean leader KIM JONG-IL's second son has assumed a key official post, fuelling speculation that he will be groomed as the next leader in the country's communist dynasty.

KIM JONG-CHUL, 27, had recently become vice chief of the ruling Korean Workers' Party's organisation and guidance department, the Mainichi Shimbun said, quoting several sources close to the North Korean administration.

I just "gave birth" to a brand new puppy (for me) Wednesday. I say for me because she is a rescue dog. Female Lab mix (not sure what the ohter part is, but I suspect hound or Sheltie), 7 and a half months old, 29 lbs. No name as yet. Right now, she looks much like a beagle with a Yellow Lab coat. Friendly as can be, is chewing everything in sight...

One less dog that has to be put down, one more dog that will love and be loved for life...

GoV retorts....
Making Filip Dewinter Dance

The same cannot be said of the Celtic Cross. Filip Dewinter, a leader of the Vlaams Belang party, has found himself in hot water due to his evident possession of a Celtic Cross. Those who are eager to smear him as a white supremacist and neo-Nazi are certain what it means to him.

But the Celtic Cross can still have other meanings, even in Flanders, where it can be found on gravestones in the cemeteries of the Great War.

Since every other charge leveled at Mr. Dewinter has proved to be bogus, the Celtic Cross looms large in the current attacks, but its significance to him is not known.

It's not a Celtic Cross! It's Odin's Cross.

Filip Dewinter is not going to repudiate anything based on our demands. He is not aware of our demands, and would consider them impertinent and irrelevant to his cause if he were aware of them.

Why would he need to dance to our tune in the first place? What good would it do him to abase himself before the American gods of PC?

Nazi ensigns had a through and through image, so each version was present on one side, but the Nazi flag on land was right-facing on both sides and generally at a 45° rotation

The Swastika on the coin they show is not rotated at 45 degrees and predates the Nazi. Therefore it's not a Nazi symbol.

An interview with one of Germany's most notorious neo-Nazis has landed Vanity Fair magazine in a heap of trouble.

Arno Lustiger, a Jewish historian and Holocaust survivor, has started proceedings to sue the magazine's German edition for publishing an interview with Horst Mahler, the former left-wing extremist who transformed into one of Germany's most rabid neo-Nazi public figures. The interview appeared in the Nov. 1 print and online editions.

Filed Nov. 7 and released to the public on Nov. 21, the suit notes that Mahler denied and belittled the Holocaust, which is illegal in Germany.

Attorney Uwe Lehmann-Brauns told the JTA on Nov. 21 that he was awaiting confirmation from Berlin's state prosecutor that the suit had been formally entered. Vanity Fair as yet has offered no response.

In the interview, conducted by journalist and former vice president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Michel Friedman, Mahler said that "Hitler was the liberator of the German people. He is demonized as the liberator of Satan."

The publisher had said he ran the interview to make Germans aware of the poisonous ideas in their midst, but Lustiger's attorneys said the motivation was immaterial.

I could care less where they are posting now, I am not into keeping a file on posters and their blog indiscretions like some here do...

I am under a ton of pressure in my "real" life the past few weeks and I am sick to death of being badgered and attacked and listening to whiny bullshit, live in person, in e-mails or even on this blog

( I don't mean you Storage, I've just fucking had it already)

1389 and I never had a problem, and it is sad to me to read that post at her/his blog.

The whole thing has been sad.

That being said you would be very suprised and shocked to know who here at LGF used to post with your "ghouls" ATS and who now sit on threads pontificating like they are the purest of authorities here.

I could give a shit less about factions and factional whiners, including those who post here and those who whine at other blogs,
and I have always made that clear from day one.

I don't do the "faction" thing
and I don't give a rats ass who "likes" me.
That is what got me in trouble "ATS" in the first place.

BTW I liked Atlas too. We were close. I tried desperately to convince her of what was happening here before I put up my first post on it. She did not want to hear it.
If she called me today I would still speak to her, still try to convince her, and I hope and pray every day that she sees the light. That people commented with venom here on her children and jumped up and down over boiling cauldrons about irrelevant personal aspects of her for weeks on end disgusted me as much as what she did disgusted me. Like there is nothing better to talk about than her tits, her ego, or her daughters.

May GOD forgive her for some of the things she has said.
I don't know if I ever can.

But are we are "better" than them?
Not all of "We".
Not IMO.
If we were this subject would not be coming up here every two seconds
People love the gossip aspect of this. I hate it.

human nature is a constant and most people conduct themselves emotionally as if they are all of 15 years old.

I am certain that puts a black mark on my LGF purity card according to the self appointed purity patrol ..... I am so sick of this crap I can not tell you....

But if any one of them ever sees that what we are saying regarding the White Nationalist Right is true and they approach me on that I will not reject them.

People hated me here at the beginning when I was researching it myself, I had to listen to a whole lot of bullshit screaming and accusations from a whole lot of fools.

Then of course we have a whole new swathe of people have now decided to hate me for the results of the researching and for speaking on it.

Some of them from both "factions" I would forgive in an instant if they came right. I give most people quite a lot of strikes before they are "out" with me if I believe they is something worth while at the core of them ... human beings are well known for making horrible mistakes and later regretting them.... you and me included.

But I can only be pushed so far. And there are some I give zero chance to. All to be determined by their own behavior.

The reigning socialist orthodoxy has forced patriots and people who are proud of their culture into the same bed as the white power freaks. Once forced by the elites into that smelly little ghetto, all patriotic expression can be condemned as "neo-Nazism".

re: #628 newsjunkie_ky Well I don't really remember her being "snotty" to anyone here, just wanted it to be clear why I no longer respect her and -unlike my friend BZ, I won't forgive her; Pamela is waay too intelligent to not understand what has happened and her attacks (and I include the comments she allowed on her site) on Charles and LGF were too over the top for someone as intelligent as she is.
And if BZ is right and some folks out here were attacking or commenting on her children, well that's just disgusting and we should have policed ourselves better.

Check out this AP article on "Terror High", the Saudi-funded (duh) Islamic Academy in northern Virginia that is finally getting attention. Note that AP bends over backwards to allow the fine, upstanding Islamic educators to defend their good name.

I lurk and read much more than I post a comment. I learn more that way. I've gotten into a few written altercations with a few commenters here and I don't like it. I try not to start anything, (have a couple of times, though), but if attacked, I fight back. Some of those I haven't seen on LGF for awhile. Maybe they were banned, I don't know. Wish Charles had a list of all those that were hit with the stick.

Regarding the story about the vets being jeered at the pool.

One woman yelled that she paid to get into the pool while the vets did not - excuse me?

Those guys definitely paid far more than she did, but I suppose she's one of those people who only thinks in terms of monetary price and value.

re: #637 Occasional Reader Howdy back atcha (howdy? from a high class, Washington D.C. power lawyer?! oh, well.). Even though the Associated With Terrorists Press did give the school and it's defenders a lot of space, the editors somehow let this get through:
"Michael Cromartie, the commission’s chairman, said he does not question the character of the student body or the faculty, most of whom are Christian. The commission is focused specifically on the textbooks, and has legitimate concerns given the problems that have been endemic in the Saudi curriculum, he said.

“It’s not about whether the students are civil to their opponents on a ball field. It’s about the textbooks,” he said."
To which I'd add it's also to what extent the teachers follow the textbooks.

He went on to suggest that the West was fundamentally adrift: “Our modern western definition of humanity is clearly not working very well. There is something about western modernity which really does eat away at the soul.”

Being a pathetic, snivelling little dhimmi whore seems to fundamentally eat away at the brain cells.

In the interview in Emel, a Muslim lifestyle magazine, Williams makes only mild criticisms of the Islamic world. He said the Muslim world must acknowledge that its “political solutions were not the most impressive”.

Just convert already and piss off to Saudi Arabia.

Canada wins on Commonwealth climate agreement

KAMPALA, Uganda -- Canada has successfully blocked more than 50 Commonwealth countries that were seeking a climate change resolution that would force developed countries to adopt a binding commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper successfully pressed for the deletion of key wording in a climate change communique that would have specified that all members support a "binding commitment" on developed countries to reduce emissions by specific targets.

"Canada's view is we need binding targets on all nations," said Mr. Harper, who dismissed reports that other countries opposed Canada.

On a lighter note...

I'd estimate that there were nearly 250+/- riders who took part in yesterday's "Toy Run to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital" motorcycle event. If I heard correctly, several thousand dollars were raised -- as well as a couple of carloads of toys for the kids in the hospital.

It was a real hoot to participate in the event. There are, based upon the vest/jacket patches I saw, a LOT of former military personnel, VN and Desert Storm vets, and like one of the members of my group (Southern Cruisers), recent OIF vets.

Next week's event should have nearly 7000 bike riders delivering toys and cash to a children's hospital in Olympia.

re: #360 Carl in Jerusalem

You're absolutely right about the Golan. It seems to me any "peace" deal Israel could work out with Syria would be even more a charade than the one with Egypt. If Syria was Canada, then sure, Israel could return the Golan without worries. But Syria is a long, long way from Canada.

Some fools are saying that a peace deal with Syria would isolate Iran. Wrong. Iran would merely gain a stealthy partner closer to Israel, and the Golan would soon be crawling with Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
