False but accurate?

They're lies, but they're "healthy" lies that serve the common good. Therefore, conventional "moral" judgements don't apply. The world isn't black and white, you know. It's like, shades of gray, man.

There most certainly is a pattern. Big media outlets who supposedly have editors and fact checkers get scooped by bloggers who discover that their so-called fact checked articles are nothing more than hoaxes, bogus stories, exaggerations, and otherwise agitprop for those who oppose the US and its efforts in Iraq.

OT Developing story:

Police in Slovakia have arrested three people on charges that they were attempting to sell an unidentified nuclear material.

Police spokesman Martin Korch said specialists were examining the radioactive material seized in Slovakia. He said the three allegedly planned a deal to sell the material, which weighs a kilo, or 2.2 pounds, for $1 million. Two of the suspects were arrested in eastern Slovakia, the other in Hungary.

41 FriarsTale  Wed, Nov 28, 2007 10:06:03am

well, at least the media can tell us the real reason for the Paris unrest
[Link: www.iht.com...]

The events of the past three days, set off by the deaths of two teenagers whose minibike collided with a police vehicle on Sunday, make clear that the underlying causes of frustration and anger — particularly among unemployed, undereducated youths, mostly the offspring of Arab and African immigrants — remain the same.

but things have escalated a bit compared to last time:

More than 100 officers have been wounded, several of them seriously, according to the police. Thirty were hit with buckshot and pellets from shotguns, and one of the wounded was hit with a type of bullet used to kill large game, Patrice Ribeiro, a police spokesman, said in a telephone interview. One of the officers lost an eye; another's shoulder was shattered by gunfire.

It is legal to own a shotgun in France — as long as the owner has a license — and police circles were swirling with rumors that the bands of youths were procuring more weapons.

"This is a real guerrilla war," Ribeiro told RTL radio, warning that the police, who have struggled to avoid excessive force, will not be fired upon indefinitely without responding.

I also think this line of thinking, such as spoken above,...should also be applied to the "witnesses" AND the testimony, and possibly even a few of the U.S. investigators involved with the BLACKWATER incident being pushed so hard by the media and factions of the Iraqi government, who loyalties are unknown or questionable at best.

How many, like me, missed this one about the peace loving 'Palestinians'?

West Bank Campus Closes After Alleged Torture of Student

The university’s administration decided to suspend classes and evacuate students from the campus after a Fatah-affiliated student was assaulted in his dormitory room, apparently by four men from the PFLP. The student, Ahmad Jarrar, was treated at a hospital for severe injuries suffered as he was apparently being tortured. The assailants used charcoal to burn Mr. Jarrar’s face. They also hammered nails into his feet, according to witnesses. Fatah gunmen then arrived at the campus and threatened to kill PFLP supporters.
