-RetweetFire in Cheney's Office Causes Leftists to Rant Uncontrollably

Wed, Dec 19, 2007 at 9:29:06 am PST

There was a fire in Dick Cheney’s office this morning, and as usual the leftist blogosphere is brimming over with lunatic ranting.

At Think Progress, the Morlocks who inhabit their comments are sure this is a ploy to cover up the destroying of documents. Or it’s the Reichstag fire. Or something like that: Think Progress » White House complex on fire.

Lawhawk looks at the emissions from Democratic Underground: A Blog For All: Serious Fire At Executive Office Building.

And at Huffington’s Hate Hole, the administrators are asleep at the wheel; they forgot to turn off comments to this story, as they usually do with posts involving Dick Cheney after numerous embarrassingly ugly threads, and there are already more than 150 astonishingly illiterate comments wishing for Cheney’s death, and comparing this to the Reichstag fire (is there a fire that isn’t like the Reichstag fire?): Cheney Office Fire - Politics on The Huffington Post.

Curiouly everyone thinks the same thing, a cover-up fire. That fire might be the equivalent of the Reichstag fire, could it mark the pivotal point in the war on democracy?
Will there be a serious inquiry, are heads gonna roll and if so wich?
I think that this time the neo-cons have gone to far, well let,s hope that it’s the start of their demise and Bush-Chenney dictatorship.

The administrators at Huffington Post finally woke up, noticed the creepy insanity, and shut down comments for their article.

I've also sortied into the Dkos, and they were engaging in the usual tripe - Reichstag fire nonsense, but one hoped that Cheney was caught up in the fire himself.

Thanks for the link Charles.

So why are we bothering to have an election (with primaries starting in Iowa in three weeks) if we've got a dictatorship?

It's probably just for show. Even if Hillary wins, she will still be dominated by the Bush-Cheney regime, no doubt.

Idiots!

They need to read Gulag by Applebaum. I won't ask them to read the actual accounts from the camps; that would clearly be too much for them.

19 Occasional Reader  Wed, Dec 19, 2007 9:36:35am
That fire might be the equivalent of the Reichstag fire

Okay, so now, leftists:

If in response to this fire, the Bush adminstration DOES blame it on leftists, and use that as an excuse to a) round you all up and send you to extermination camps, and/or b) invade and annex Canada; why, then, we here will all feel very sincerely embarassed, and will apologize to you.

And if that DOESN'T happen, you'll do the same.

Right?

People are always looking to try to find their traits in others even where none exist. The Democrats have been caught red-handed destroying documents, so it follows that the Bush Administration must be doing something dirty even in an accidental fire. Looks like the firemen appreciated the photo op too. All smiles.

34 EtheWise  Wed, Dec 19, 2007 9:40:50am

Note to Dems: copy and paste this text to apologize for how wrong you really are:

Dear America,
My sole focus is on what’s best for America, the world, humanity, decency, and all that is good. That’s why I’m a liberal Democrat.

[*clearing of the throat* Work with me here]

In Iraq, I only advocate what I believe to be the most effective course for both America and the Iraqis, without regard to the political ramifications of my positions.

For this reason, I opposed the initial invasion.

I deplored the Bush Administration’s lies, the media’s acquiescence, the country’s jingoism, and my own party’s weakness. After eventually becoming resigned to the war itself, I then became outraged at the administration incompetence and corruption. I have weighed in on Abu Ghraib, waterboarding, Gitmo, nighttime raids in Iraq, Hamdi, and Padilla, but in each case, solely because of my love for this nation.

That’s why now, I sometimes recognize and proclaim, the sheer irresponsibility of some Democratic positions. Ideas like ‘complete withdrawal’ and ‘rapid redeployment’ strike me as absurd. Even the notion that we would now cede influence in the emerging Iraq to other nations by breaking camp and splitting, seems unwise to me.

But what’s more, because I’m not bound by any code of loyalty (except my professed love of country and humanity), I am willing to assail Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for their failure to join me in some of these conclusions. And because I’m an honest broker, and not some whore for ‘my side,’ I’m even willing to declare that the Reid-Pelosi position is one borne solely out of political calculation, and it sickens me that my party’s leaders are advocating obviously foolish policy in a naked attempt to gain more political power. But because I owe my soul to no man, I’m not afraid to say this publicly.

35 The Shadow Do  Wed, Dec 19, 2007 9:40:54am

No, even the leftists aren't that stupid.

These people are clueless. Let them talk to a Holocaust survivor to find out what a dictatorship is about. Better yet, a survivor of Stalin's gulags.

I've written this before, but I had a neighbor who as a child survived the Killing Fields of Cambodia, as well as being a "boat person". Most of his family perished. His parents both survived; fortunately, their "bourgeois business" was a nursery, so they were not condemned to instant death, due to their having some "peasant background".

He survived forced labor, starvation (the children learned from really old folks to eat grubs that they dug up while cutting down trees with broken plates), and reeducation sessions that involved beatings for wrong or insufficiently enthusiastic answers.

Rata and his parents made it to the US where they busted their humps putting him through college.

I have never met a finer person in my life, and I have never met a man more clear-eyed about dictators, despots, communists, etc.

Of course, these spoon-fed basement-dwelling leftards would not understand a word he could say.

I had to put up with that from a friend who's a real "black helicopter" type about Clinton. I guess it's only fair that the left suffer the same anxiety.

I'll bet he pissed his pants at Bush 41's "new world order" speech...

I know someone who stockpiled ammunition after that. No, I'm not kidding.

I know someone too who went freaking apeshit after that speech and started warning everyone that Bush was going to use Blackwater to take over the US and it was going to happen soon. He told me that my family and I better get prepared. I tried to talk some sense to him but to no avail. Numbers and facts don't make sense to someone without any common sense.

An office building completed in the 1880s--before networking, before telco, and before modern electrical equipment...

...just underwent its first major renovation since the 1950s...

...and had a fire in what's reported to be either an electrical closet or a telco panel...

...and the DKos/HuffPo types are not only surprised, but believe everyone thinks it's intentional?

How do people this dumb hold jobs?

But Hillary and Obama are too mainstream for most people who rant this way, so there's no cognitive dissonance involved.

They'll just note that they're beholden to the "corporate interests", and go on merrily from there. Well, not merrily; merriment isn't one of their more notable features.

OT: Grave desecration

Jewish worshippers Tuesday were stunned to find Arabs had desecrated the graves of the Biblical Joshua, Caleb and Nun (Joshua’s father).
Joshua served as the Jewish Nation's Prime Minister from the year 2488 until 2516 on the Hebrew calendar (1272 BCE - 1300 BCE).

It will be interesting to see how their tune will change if, god forbid, Hillary or Obama get elected.
Recall 1992 . . . literally the day after Clinton won the election, the major news networks abruptly stopped what had been a near-daily drumbeat of stories on the downtrodden homeless, the Great Depression of 1992, etc. Some media watchdog did a study on this phenomenon - it was truly astonishing.

Rush Limbaugh has noted repeated since then that there are, quite literally, NO homeless when there is a Democrat in the White House.

With the help of dennis, I see UFOs, kucinich, the homeless were taken to planet Dennich. They dwelled there for 8 years until they wore out their welcome and were returned to Earth, just in time for W.

Many arrived for the pebble-throwing ritual with swollen feet and sore legs after walking about 20km during the night, stopping for a few hours of sleep in the rough in the Muzdalifa area, where they collected at least 49 small stones.

Interesting.

In any event, whether the fire was set by the Nazis or not, it was certainly they who used it as a pretext to attack their political enemies--which is exactly what the Left is doing with this fire.

It is clear that the Left is irony-challenged, since their screaming of "Reichstag fire! Reichstag fire!" in this instance clearly places them--rather than Bush or Cheney--in the role of the Nazis.

How long will it be before that little gem occurs to them?

Hearing some of Browne's lyrics

You mean like the ones about how terribly hard life is as a multi-millionaire pop star?

Mostly his left-wing claptrap. I do actually have 8-tracks and cassettes of his early stuff, though. When I was a HS senior I was hooked on the Runnin' On Empty album.

Bizarre deathcult rituals.

Muslim pilgrims stone wall, cut hair

MUSLIM pilgrims threw pebbles at a stone wall outside Mecca, shaved their heads and bought sacrificial animals today, the third day of the annual haj pilgrimage to the Mecca area.
Many arrived for the pebble-throwing ritual with swollen feet and sore legs after walking about 20km during the night, stopping for a few hours of sleep in the rough in the Muzdalifa area, where they collected at least 49 small stones.

What IS it with these cavemen and stones?

Interesting.

In any event, whether the fire was set by the Nazis or not, it was certainly they who used it as a pretext to attack their political enemies--which is exactly what the Left is doing with this fire.

It is clear that the Left is irony-challenged, since their screaming of "Reichstag fire! Reichstag fire!" in this instance clearly places them--rather than Bush or Cheney--in the role of the Nazis.

How long will it be before that little gem occurs to them?

has anyone at LGF ever wished for Pelosi to die during a botched leck lift? i dont think so.

272 arcatan  Wed, Dec 19, 2007 11:03:31am

I'd spent years at a Liberal i-net "community" (Cafe Utne) where I learned to distance myself from any remaining Liberal-type assumptions I'd made. The level of dialog and insight there was abysmal ... yet compared to the blithering drivel on these Leftist blogs it was brilliant and incisive.

When I took "management" at Cafe Utne to task for their lack of guidance over the unwashed masses I found myself, once again, the target of attempted ostracization.

One striking similarity between the Idiot Left, as expressed at Cafe Utne, and the Moronic Left, as expressed in the blogs; is the ability to fabricate reality from unfounded presumption and then use that presumption as the basis of all reality.

And why is there no one among Leftists to point out this kind of presumptuous error? Because anyone who would observe such a thing is considered a member of the opposition.

Clearly - anyone who stands in the way of a Liberal's fantasy is considered The Enemy. The are increasingly becoming a belligerent mob who will blithely leave this nation (and the world if possible) in ruins.

OK there - I've made a direct logical connection between the observation of Liberal behavior and possible consequences. That's not so hard to do is it?

These people are lunatics. They had a Criminal in Chief for 8 years selling Nuclear Secrets, getting "serviced" in the Oval Office, and Perjuring himself...

Even at all this, and as big as my loathing for Bill Clinton is/was I would have not called him a "dictator".

It is kind of weird in a circular kind of way. They LOVE true dictators, you all know the list...Castro, Chavez, Mao, Stalin, Che, etc. The very people who would not allow elections, dissent, or opposition to stand. The killings, the famine, the obliteration of the economies of the countries, poverty, squalor, yet the lefties love them.

Now we have a guy in office who was elected, and basically gets trashed by the press and his party's bills challenged at every turn in the Congress. If he were a dictator, wouldnt he just do whatever he wanted and to hell with whatever f'd up Senate says?

Makes me wonder if these idiots know what the term dictator really means (it does not mean doing things you dont like). It is sort of the same way they throw around the term "fascism". They call the conservatives fascists, then in the same breath try to silence our opinion on college campi everywhere, with "speech codes".

Their world really is inverted...

I would love to see more of these type of people talk to some of these young people on campuses across the land. They have seen the hardship first hand, and can tell them how great America is, and where these leftists policies, and socialist tendencies will take us in the end.

But that is just a pipe dream. With Universities everywhere requiring the reading of Karl Marx, and college student worshiping at the alter of the fallacy of the eutopian society, it will never happen.

Every time Cheney's heart burps, or some other misfortune befalls an evil neo-con, the mean-spirited gloating and death-wishes come so fast that HuffPo mods have to shut off the comments.

In contrast, we have this morning's news that Dennis Kucinich's brother Perry has been found dead in his home. Where is the evil gloating and paranoid conspiracism over this? It isn't at LGF, and if such a message is posted here, it won't last long.

I have a Moonbat Armageddon Scenario that just could possibly unfold in the next Presidential election. Oh this is good and just plausible enough to make LLL heads explode just thinking about it. Get this..

Say Ron Paul runs as a 3rd Party candidate after losing the GOP nomination. He says now he won't do that but who can say for sure.

And say he wins one or two small States and then the Dem and Rep split the rest of the electoral votes and no one gets the 270 electoral votes needed to win the Presidency.

So the election then moves to the House where each State gets one vote only. If the House were to vote along party lines, then the Democrat would get 25 votes, the Republican 21, and 4 States draw. Sorry but you need 26 States to win in that election. 25 won't do.

That would make the existing Vice President Dick Cheney the next President and the Senate would then vote on the next Vice President. The 12th amendment says so.

And at that point, millions of moonbat heads would explode. The best part is, it doesn't even have to happen. We can get all kinds of mileage scaring liberals into mental illness just posing that scenario. Ha. I can't wait for some National pundit to pick up on this. Its like an early Christmas present.
