If these pictures are genuine, and they look to be, and if Uncle Ron knew, at the time, who these people were (better than even money he did; consider his recent video interview), it looks like the Ronulan Empire and its fearless leader are fast approaching The Moment of Clarity and Truth (could it happen this weekend? It might be too early to start a poll, but the Ronulan forces seem to be at Red Alert, Shields Damaged, etc., if I read the sub-space blog intercepts correctly.

Let’s at least get some options on the table:

1) RP decides to throw in the towel. He realizes this torpedo hit him amidships, with no damage control options; his campaign is sunk.

2) RP donates the $500 contributions to the Simon Weisenthal Center, to atone for his mistake. He offers some platitudes (probably like #1), the Ronulan masses buy them, the Ronulan campaign effort is saved.

Question: Does anyone else buy? My guess is no.

The possibility of spin exists, but the pictures look to be genuine.

3) RP does nothing. The pictures are ignored. The claim is that RP didn’t really know who these people were at the time, but now does, and while their beliefs are distasteful, they are US citizens, entitled to be heard, entitled to donate, etc., etc. Fractures appear in the Ronulan ranks.

Predictions?

There are more spin possibilities I suppose, but they seem risky and far-fetched. Perhaps someone can, between now and Monday, cook up a Photoshop version of the pictures that show it was actually someone else, not RP.

I’m guessing that, while making the argument of #3 is true, constitutional, fair, etc., vary many voters and perhaps a significant number of Ronulans will agree, but then vote for someone else.
