I was just looking for something I saw yesterday or the day before, but I can't find it. Apparently, as I recall the story, some man driving in a car spit out of his car at the protesters, who yelled at him. He stopped, got out of his car, and Medea Benjamin feeling threatened, immediately called for protection from ... the Marines! Can't remember where I saw the story, and can't find it now.

The good news is that even the most outrageous crap from these leftist assholes just fades into the noise from that side.
But Marines are free to apply their protect and defend mantra selectively as far as I'm concerned. If there is ever an invasion, Berkeley and all it's ass-wads will be "sacrificed to buy time" in order to hold the line just east of them...:>) (or south, north, west, however the situation develops.)

Medea Benjamin Cries for Help from Marines
OK, it's just too good to leave this up as a link. Here's the paragraph:
While we were at the protest in Berkeley from 12 to 4 PM a white volvo drove by and a man spat upon code pink. They chased him down the street and got into a verbal altercation. The police were NO WHERE in sight. That's not the best part, ready for this? Medea Benjamin yelled and I quote "Marines!" she actually yelled for our help because this man had stepped out of his car. Lol. I even asked her if she was yelling Police and she told me "I said Marines" then put her arm around my friend Allen (the Marine vet)

I mean - what?I was just looking for something I saw yesterday or the day before, but I can't find it. Apparently, as I recall the story, some man driving in a car spit out of his car at the protesters, who yelled at him. He stopped, got out of his car, and Medea Benjamin feeling threatened, immediately called for protection from ... the Marines! Can't remember where I saw the story, and can't find it now.
Medea Benjamin Cries for Help from Marines
Here's Melanie Morgan's site, with some more information. The Marine who's email is quoted in the story also does an ad for her organization. Scroll down for the ad (with a pic).

re: #148 Rotorhead 67/68
Your post reminded me of this,
[Link: netwar.wordpress.com...]
"One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me:
“Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident.” ...
Thus there is a paradox, and we must grasp both ends of the situation: We may well be in the most violent times in history, but violence is still remarkably rare. This is because most citizens are kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are sheep.
...
“Then there are the wolves,” the old war veteran said, “and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy.” Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.
“Then there are sheepdogs,” he went on, “and I’m a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf.”

What do people on the street do when they see signs like this? I mean - what?
You know, in Berkeley it's just more noise. They just ignore it along with all the other nonsense you're exposed to every day in Berkeley.
I don't think that would fly here in middle America. At least, I hope not.

It seems as if this man is living like a pig. A sanctimonious pig who protests the very people who provide him the freedom to act like a pig.
Reminds me of dialogue from the movie "A Few Good Men", in which an annoyed Marine Colonel (Jack Nicholson) tells Tom Cruise's character:
...I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it...

I agree with Time Magazine on this one, although the writer ostensibly hopes for an Obama-friendly conclusion. Obama's middle name should not be taboo. Whatever it signifies or does not for the blank-slate Obama and his supporters, detractors and those indifferent should be out in the open. Accidental victim of dad's name, deeper meaning, Muslim or apostate? This guys is running for president. Everything should be discussed, even the significance or lack thereof of his middle name.

YOU'RE WELCOME
for the rights you enjoy in this country that you would never dream of having elsewhere. The rights that you have thanks to the blood of those you are protesting.
I can't even come up with the words to express the outrage. I thought I was mad at the stoning video a couple months ago. This pales in comparison.

Lunatic Fringe-Graham Parker
I want to thank you for sticking my neck out
I know I'll be there when they let the cranks out
I won't be culpable, got too much to answer for ooo oooh
My heart is in a can, my neck is in your hands
You wanted a family man but I'm not relating
I'll never be arranged I'd rather be estranged, I don't care, I don't care
Second cousin to the poor relation,
Holding last week's ticket in this week's train station
Relegated to the third division on the lunatic fringe
We're not on any team not after what I've seen
All that back slapping makes me want to scream
I'll just be feeling low, waiting for the final whistle to blow oo oo ooh
[Lunatic Fringe lyrics on [Link: www.metrolyrics.com]...]
They're beating metal, outside this window
I'm getting a kick out of every hammer blow
I know I can't escape it until I've been reshapen
I'm on the I'm on the...
Second cousin to the poor relation,
Holding last week's ticket in this week's train station
Relegated to the third division on the lunatic fringe
They're pumping iron down in the village
They're locking lions up in the zoo
I don't know what I'm thinking I don't know where I'm sinking
Down there, down there
Second cousin to the poor relation,
Holding last week's ticket in this week's train station
Relegated to the third division on the lunatic fringe
On the lunatic fringe, on the lunatic fringe, on the lunatic fringe,

Just a parting thought before I have to leave - when I dropped by today there were three counter protesters waving American flags. Wednesday there were about a dozen (and only 8 from code pink). But a lot of the time there really isn't a whole lot of action there, and just a few counter protesters would make a big difference. For anybody who's local, if you drop by anywhere from noon-4:00 that's the peak time, just a couple of people with flags can really change the perception from the street.

Iran bides it's time until Obama is elected, working on its nuclear program (personally, I discount their prowess, but for the sake of argument . . .). Obama is inaugurated and shortly thereafter Iran successfully pitches a warhead on Tel Aviv (again, Iran has trouble with missile accuracy and reliability, Israel's missile defense turns out to be a bluff). In the wake of the attack, Hamas, Hezzbolah, Egypt, Syria, etc, dogpile militarily on Israel. The call goes out to the United States for help. Is it, with Lord Obama's finger on the button?
Secure Loose Nuclear Materials from Terrorists: Obama will secure all loose nuclear materials in the world within four years. While we work to secure existing stockpiles of nuclear material, Obama will negotiate a verifiable global ban on the production of new nuclear weapons material. This will deny terrorists the ability to steal or buy loose nuclear materials.
. . .
Toward a Nuclear Free World: Obama will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons, and pursue it. Obama will always maintain a strong deterrent as long as nuclear weapons exist. But he will take several steps down the long road toward eliminating nuclear weapons. He will stop the development of new nuclear weapons; work with Russia to take U.S. and Russian ballistic missiles off hair trigger alert; seek dramatic reductions in U.S. and Russian stockpiles of nuclear weapons and material; and set a goal to expand the U.S.-Russian ban on intermediate- range missiles so that the agreement is global.

Israel kills three Palestinians in Gaza -- medics
Israeli forces killed three Palestinians, two militants and a 17-year-old girl, during clashes in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Saturday, medical workers and the Islamist group said.A total of 37 Palestinians have been killed in four days of Israeli raids and air strikes in the coastal territory that the Jewish state launched after an Israeli civilian was killed in a Palestinian cross-border rocket attack on Wednesday.
Most of the dead have been militants but some civilians, including children, have been killed.
Witnesses said one clash erupted on Saturday when Palestinian gunmen spotted an Israeli force backed by helicopters that had entered the Gaza Strip.
Hamas and medical workers said the gunmen belonged to the Islamist movement, which seized control of Gaza last June by routing the secular forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. A Hamas militant and the girl were killed.
For all we know, she was probably married to one of the "militants"...

I wandered the hills and vales of Afghanistan and Manali in the late 60's and 70's.
You lucky thing!
A couple of buddies and I were going to do a record setting around the world overland trip in the 70s from Vietnam. When the Khyber Pass was shut down - well that ended that.
By nature or by war?
The Soviet Union Invaded Afgh. War.
I had heard of India, Pakistan, Kashmir and the like when I was a kid, and I remember the nastines in Tehran, and I have a (somewhat vague) memory of invasion by the Soviets.
It was later, in college, that I learned of the loss of a mystical place and time.
BTW, a sad note for sweater-lovers.
Over 100,000 cashmere goats have faced starvation as winter stocks of fodder ran out after heavy snow covered pastures in the remote Ladakh region near the border with China last month.
"We have reports of over 600 deaths due to starvation so far, and the mortality is mostly among young ones," said Tsering Dorjay, a top official in the region.

Your better off! I never did trust fixed wing. I had some 600 crew hours in the 53 and loved every minute of it.
Interesting, we said the same about helo's! I had a Sea Cobra crash about two hundred yards from me, and it was actually a fairly gentle crash as they go. But the rotor went everywhere! Hit the deck and felt the ground shake as the cobra fell over sideways. One of my buds got a medal for helping pull the pilot and crew out....

The fact that these asses walk about unbeaten in Berkley is a living testament to the discipline and honor that our Marines have.
I hear the Marines have pretty strict ROE for duty in enemy cities.
Do they get combat pay for having to work in Berkeley?

Oy. Vey.
You betcha. The Marines have mucho respect for the Scottish Regiments and vice versa.
The Black Watch Pipes and Drums came to LeJeune several times when my dad was stationed there back in the 1960's and early 70's.
They were warmly received.
I saw the Coldstream Guards and the Royal Scots Dragoons Pipe Band last weekend in Mesa, AZ.
The Scots Dragoons played all the US Military anthems on the pipes.

This must be what she's talking about when they mention 35 years experience in her ads. 35 years of handling Billy-Bob Bimbo eruptions in the wee hours. Now, that's reassuring.

. . .
“That’s not the best part, ready for this?
“Medea Benjamin yelled and I quote “Marines!” She actually yelled for our help because this man had stepped out of his car. I even asked her if she was yelling Police and she told me, “I said Marines” then put her arm around my friend Allen (the Marine Vet). Ironic?”

[Link: strata-sphere.com...]
Obama Too Easily Spooked
....The sign of a novice is to pretend there is nothing serious about the threats to America and trying to change the subject. Here is Obama’s amateur response:
But, he said: “We’ve seen these ads before. They’re the kind that play on people’s fears to try to scare up votes.”
After 9-11 the entire question of who has the experience and temperament to handle a crisis is not about fear or anxiety. It is a simple and pragmatic question. The true joke about this is, as Hillary asks a good question and Obama quakes in his boots, is the one who looks good when you think about the question is one John McCain. When the question is who should answer the phone most people think McCain without any hesitation.

I shudder to think what would of happened with six blades. The accident occurred on the flight line, and there were probably 100 sailors and marines in the area. They found a piece of the rotor a mile and a quarter away buried in the Lockheed wind-tunnel. My one and thank God only helicopter flight was in a UH-1 in a survival exercise with our pilots. Neil Cavuto on 2/26/08:
He hadn't been president very long.
Terror attacks seemed like something that happened over there. Not over here.
Yet it did happen here.
And killed people here.
No, I'm not talking 9/11, or President Bush.
I'm talking 2/26, and another fairly new president, Bill Clinton.
Fifteen years ago. Today.
February 26th, 1993.
The World Trade Center.
A 1,500-pound bomb meant to knock the North Tower onto its twin, and the schemers hoped, bring down both, maybe taking 250,000 lives in the process.
It didn't happen that way.
Something went wrong.
Still, six people were killed, and 1,042 were injured.
And authorities that day talked about how they dodged a huge catastrophe that day.
They did. That day.
Until we moved on from that day, almost forgot about that day, and the unpleasantness of terror that day.
Never realizing that the al Qaeda forces that planned that day would continue to plan another day.
So they set to work.
As we blithely went back to work.
Back to our lives, as those who wished us ill, thought up another way to end our lives.
We forgot.
They did not.
We moved on from 2/26. And so did they.
To another date.
But the same place.
And this time, with very different results.
Funny thing, time.
How quickly we forget.
How quickly others do not.
And never will.

Immoral, no; you might get a different read on the legal side from the police if they thought you were 'stalking' an individual. If you got a group together to protest in front of the Code Pink offices, wherever they are, that would be an equivalent.

me, I'd like to put a 70 lb pack on his ass,
hand him a full mag. ready M-16, about
100 rounds of ammo on belts , helmet,
canteen, assorted useful stuff, and chase
his ass around 29 palms for about one weekSounds perfect, TFK.
I'll be out at Camp Mackall for about three weeks in September. I'm doing a minimum of 32 miles in 24 hours, possibly more. 70 pound rucks, but soft caps...think Grandpa Bolshevik might want to join us? He wouldn't last 3 minutes. He was the kind of guy that was against WWII (pre-Nazi invasion of USSR) because he is a coward and scared to fight. I'm convinced that is the rationale behind at least 50% of the male "anti-war" movement. Cover for their cowardice. It's got to be at least 50% of the movement, because there simply can't be that many (deleted - rhymes with wussies) in the world.
Please take that commie asshat with you, and post pics for us upon your return. :)

Unfortunately you are totally correct. A fully loaded and fueled military jet has the gliding characteristics of a brick. They don't put ejection seats in those things for nothing. Did something just hose up LGF for a couple of minutes?

Guy I work with had a conversation today. He told me that it was easy to be a "conservative" in that all you wanted to do was implement failed policies of the past. Obviously having a PHD in Minerology and Chemistry doesn't make you a politcal and economic genius. Whiping out my trusty common sense card and the high school diploma, I quickly nailed him with 6 quick examples innovative and succesful conservative programs that worked and are still working. What got to him was that I classified JFK as a conservative. Ahh the fun never stops.. PS He's a Hillary suppporter
You should have told him that MLK was a Republican because the Donks wouldn't let black people vote in the south before the voting rights act in the sixties. Ask him if that was a "failed conservative policy" of the past.

TaxFreeKiller is EXACTLY right. Those non-orgasmic organisms are spoiling for a fight.
You give them a fight, it's win-lose (they win, we lose).
You laugh at them, it's a lose-win (they lose, we win).
Nothing incites "enlightened" people more than laughter, especially when you look like you're trying to be serious and hold it in.
/Get a couple of Marines standing in front of the guy, posing for a picture, trying to hold their laughter inside - that enrages Moonbats. Physical pain wears off quickly, laughing at 'em, they'll remember and take it to the grave.

Those people at the 8th & I are the best of the best.
I remember when I was around 10 years old, my dad had a trip to the Pentagon from LeJeune and my mom and I came along to tour Washington DC. We went to the evening concert at 8th and I. If you've never been there it is in Anacostia, which is, shall we say, a less then desirable neighborhood. This was around 1969-70 when all the anti-Vietnam war riots and "Black Power" marches were going on in DC. There was a lone bugler at the end playing "Taps" who was up on a rampart with a spotlight on him. Someone in the 'hood fired off a pistol or set of a firecracker to try to make him stumble. He didn't miss a beat.

I dunno to me the SAW grip just doesn't look right on an FAL but there are those that say it is more comfortable than the stock grip.
I've got the 16" DSA carbine too. That sucker is loud. It's not so bad for the shooter but the folks at the stations on either side of you at the range will get an earful! I wish I had gotten the 18" barrel instead but that was what was in stock at the time that I could afford.

Just a CQ 1.5x16 with the red dot recticle. Kind of wish I had gone for at least the 2.0 magnification, but it sure is a fantastic scope. Damn near half the cost of the rifle! Also, I'm thinking that sometime in the future I might invest in another SA58 upper in 21" or bull.

In Defence of Hippies (vs Commies and/or Yippies):
This plain-looking ugly old fart in the photo needs to be fed his cap and his commie sign.
But IMO he does not look like a hippie or a former hippie.
Hippies were pacifists, dope-smokers, anti-establishmentarians, longhairs, flower-children, peaceniks and non-conformists, but not usually marxist-leninists. To most hippies "pigs" were civil authority figures like police rather than soldiers. Hippies were against the Viet Nam war, but I doubt that a real hippie would celebrate the death of 240 marines at the hands of terrorists. They would be more likely to hand a marine a flower.
Yippies were older and more politically-active than Hippies and they were the ones who were more strident and hateful - like the Chicago 7. IMO the commie in the picture might conceivably have been a former Yippie, but not a Hippie.
IMO this commie scumbag does not deserve to be called a Hippie.

Zombie, I am certain that I don't have your self-restraint. The bombing in Beirut hits a little close to home. I'd have peeled the asshat and would have gladly let them lead me away in cuffs. Watching that puke attempt to pick up his teeth as I was lead away in cuffs would have been worth the trouble.

Agreed. The Sixties counterculture and its various mutations and survivals was far from monolithic, and much was apolitical or (in the case of the "back to the land" folks), even rather conservative in many ways. I see a lot of the original, first-wave "hippie" movement of the Haight-Ashbury and other places as essentially an aesthetic/experimental-lifestyle bohemian subculture that got ruined when creeps like Jerry Rubin started to exploit its legal and social troubles for their own political gains.

This is why I never went to college in 1968, it was full of scum like this and I had a big chip on my shoulder concerning them and all their hippy, lefty pals, I would have ended up in prison for sure. It didn`t help that my brother was serving in the unit I`d just left in Vietnam and was very badly wounded, which ultimately, along with Agent Orange exposure caused his death in 2002 at a relatively young age leaving several heart-broken children behind.
Instead I went back to the logging camp where I`d worked before I went into the Army, working with salt of the earth vets, North Carolinians and American Indians , very patriotic Americans, of which I married one, the best move I made in my life. She hates these scum as much as I do. I wouldn`t change a thing, piss on college, I don`t need the extra income I`d make by being around these types and listening to their crap. Although I did have a desire to study foreign languages more, I`ve managed to get by on my own at it.

Bill Gates died and found himself standing in front of St. Peter, who was sizing him up.
"Well, Bill, I'm not sure whether to send you to Heaven or Hell. After all, you helped society enormously by putting a computer in almost every home in America, and you gave away a lot of money. But, you also created that evil Windows program. It's a close call, so I'm going to do something I've never done before: I'm going to let you decide where you want to go."
Bill replied, "What's the difference between the two?"
St. Peter said, "Well, I'm willing to let you visit both places briefly, then you will have to decide."
"Fine, but where do you think I should I go first?"
"I leave that up to you."
"Okay, what the Hell," said Bill. "Let's try down below first."
So Bill went to Hell. It was a beautiful and clean. Bill saw a sandy beach with clear waters and lots of bikini-clad women running around, playing in the water, laughing and frolicking about. The sun was shining, the temperature perfect. He was very pleased.
"This is great!" he told St. Peter. "If this is Hell, I really want to see Heaven!"
"Fine," said St. Peter, and off they went.
Heaven was a place high in the clouds, with angels drifting about, playing harps and singing. It was nice, but not as enticing as Hell.
Bill thought for a quick minute, and rendered his decision. "I think I'd prefer Hell," he told St. Peter.
"Fine," retorted St. Peter, "as you desire." So Bill Gates went to Hell.
Two weeks later, St. Peter decided to check on the late billionaire to see how he was doing in Hell. When he got there, he found Bill shackled to a wall in a dark cave, screaming amongst hot flames, being burned and tortured by demons.
"How's everything going?" he asked Bill.
With his voice filled with anguish and disappointment, Bill responded, "This is awful! This is nothing like the Hell I visited two weeks ago! I can't believe this is happening! What happened to that other place, with the beautiful beaches and the scantily clad women playing in the water?"
"That was the demo," replied St. Peter.

Hippes did not necessarily sympathize with the radicals. A Hippie would flash you the peace sign in response to your comment. A Yippie would call you a pig.

re: #699 JHW
You and your brother, may he rest in peace, are what make this country great. I can only imagine the frustration you must have felt when you saw the idiots that were protesting back in '68. Thank-you for all of the sacrifices you and your family have made.

michelle is a coarse, crude, belligerent , angry person and she romps around showing it.

I live in a town that is crawling with leftover hippies from the 60's. Most of them are (now) clean cut, respectable members of society. They have jobs, homes, family and kids. Just by passing them on the street, you would never know what their politics are.
But I have extra sensory perception when it comes to the hippie culture, I can spot them a mile away...no matter how clean cut they happen to look. I was born and raised amongst them. They can try and fool everyone else, but they can't fool me. And every time politics is mentioned, or I mention Bush or Iraq, their true colors come out. Even if they were once one of those friendly hippies you speak of, deep down they are true radicals. They have an anger in them that they can't control, and they always let it out when it comes to politics. That's why I can't buy into your theory of different kinds of hippies. Ive seen and talked to too many to believe that there's any difference in them.

In defending HIS right, I defend MY right. (Daniel Webster and the Devil)...
But I can LAUGH AT HIM, and deprive him of and hook or power to his adolescent jibe... I can visibly pity him, and ponder aloud at the sad state of his cowardice, visibly showing him unable to acknowledge the Marines' courageous dedication...
I do NOT give him permission to trigger anger in me! He hasn't that power, hasn't that wit and certainly has not enough integrity to trigger anger in ME!

So, no, none of the smarmy pundits befouling the airwaves today should be dissin' Tricky Dick.

Who revels in the death of their countrymen?
Commie moonbats.
There is a death fixation among these people. They like it. They celebrate it. They seek it for themselves and others. They want us to pass laws encouraging it. They want to prohibit others from stopping it. They are at home with death.
Schadenfreud and malice. They are hoping to provoke violence.
Psalm 36:1
1The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. 4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. Romans 3:13
Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways 17 And the way of peace have they not known 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Thoughts.. and questions..
On the two sides of this ongoing waltz of truly ironic idiocy in front of the Marine office in Berkley we have the Protesters on one side, the Marines on the other.
On the Marine side, from the people who actually work in that office, I've not heard so much as a comment on the protest going on outside, let alone a complaint. (please correct me if I'm wrong)
On the protester's side, we have vile slander like what is pictured above. There's a slew of what can only be described as truly hate-filled slogans captured on Zombie's site on this subject alone.
So I ask all who read this, especially those on the political far left, which side is more tolerant? Which side is more caring? Which side truly appreciates diversity? Which side tolerates differing opinions? Which side really believes in and defends freedom of speech?
Challenge your preconceptions of they will challenge you.

I was just about to turn in, but I needed my LGF fix, and what do you know- a thread appropriate to my day.
I am surrounded by leftoids. I have a grand total of two or three people whom I can talk to who are both Believers, and conservative. None of them is a close friend. Every one else, my wife included, is a moonbat to some degree. Sometimes it gets me down. It's why I cherish this corner of cyberspace.
I went down to the local Starbucks this afternoon, and ran into a couple of guys I usually like to BS with. Both are intelligent, well educated, and genuinely nice people. Unfortunately they read The Nation, Huffington Post, and the New York Times like so much scripture. I hadn't been there long before the conversation turned to Bush (how stupid, how evil, how he wrecked the country, oh, and stupid yada yada yada) How generaly nasty conservatives are, and how McCain is going to get his ass whupped by Obama, and how they can't wait for the Big0 to become president so he can end the war, tax the evil corporations, and restore America to its former glory.
As I said, I usually like talking to these guys. I don't like to argue, and nothing I say is going to change anyone's mind. When the conversation turns to politics or religion I deflect questions, and change the topic, or find an excuse to leave. Today I left.
What's disturbing is the quasi religious tone I pick up from them when they start talking about the coming of their political messiah. You can see them light up- "He's the next JFK! He'll end the war! Europe will like us again!"
I contrast that with the tone I get when I talk to those with whom I share beliefs and opinions. I, and they sense something ominous approaching. It's a feeling that big events are just off the horizon, and they don't bode well for anyone. And, in contrast to the lefties, politics have little to do with it. Whatever is coming will eclipse the question of one presidential candidate or another. There's brimstone on the wind for those who can sniff it out.
Maybe I'm just too tired and cranky, I don't know. Maybe it's all in my head. But how come it's in other peoples' heads as well?
JWM

Zombie, I am certain that I don't have your self-restraint. The bombing in Beirut hits a little close to home. I'd have peeled the asshat and would have gladly let them lead me away in cuffs. Watching that puke attempt to pick up his teeth as I was lead away in cuffs would have been worth the trouble.
You are kinder than I am BW.
I'd have clubbed the fucker like a baby seal, then watched him scream for his mama and writhe in extreme agony in the street as he would just be able to taste his ass with his own tongue...
...but that's just me...
i would have tripped and lost my footing, due to my bad ankle (Ft Hunter-Ligget /AT 85) and knocked him down by accident, inadvertently knocking the wind out of him and likely causing other unfortunately unavoidable injuries as i tried to recover my balance and my footing. it's even possible that others in the crowd might cause me to fall more than once.......
but that's just me. %-)

That is some badass stuff, right there. Might make ms. rawmuse wet herself, tho'. That is why I like the Marlin, they look, well, normal. But plenty lethal. They make a 50 round drum for my little carbine, but I never have bought one. If I can't take the threat down with 10 rounds and a reload, then I deserve my fate. I took the carbine on a wilderness trek, and I did encounter a brown bear (see my avatar), but thankfully was able to avoid injury to either of us. It was a comfort to have along.

re: #739 KarridineI'm out of synch here, but I am LIKE the Marines: I do NOT give permission to those pukes to pull MY chain with their cheap words!
I vowed to defend the Constitution, and IT defends MY right to say things that may be offensive to others, SO the Constitution defends Moonbat-guano's right to display HIS cowardice and lack of human spirit...
Excellent point.
Whenever I feel myself getting pissed I stop and remember this old bit of advice: "No one can make me mad without my permission."

But how come it's in other peoples' heads as well?JWM
You don't need to be Nostradamus to figure that out. We thought we defeated the commies when the Soviet Union collapsed. But it just made the leftists in the West who have wormed their way into power in the media and whackademia even more virulent. Together with the Jihadists they will try to bring down the West. The United States and our allies have many enemies, within and without and they are planning, planning, planning, to bring us down.
It's not the fluoride, Mandrake.

re: #703 neocon hippie
Actually, it wasn't my theory, it was another poster that I responded to.
Why is it, if I'm supposed to be so brain dead from all the pot I have smoked, that being pro-American, pro-Israel, pro-capitalism, anti-Marxist and anti-Jihad seems like such a no-brainer to me?

I sympathize with you on this on hearing all that nonsense from people around you. I often ask people what their idea of an alternative to big corporations is. Medieval type-guilds perhaps? Or those very expensive offshore oil platforms, airliners and pharmaceuticals can be developed by the local small business or union or the mom and pop drugstore. I cant count the number of times I`ve heard people say the drug companies shouldn`t make money out of people`s suffering, the drugs should be free. The scientists developing those drugs might not like the idea of working for free though. I suspect what a lot of people want is the government to take over everything, that way they`ll get stuff either very cheap or free they think.
