Yes, the Daily Kos Kooks are now accusing Hillary Clinton of “darkening” an image of Barack Obama that appears in a video posted at the Clinton site: Nutroots accuse Hillary of darkening footage of Obama to make him look “blacker”.

Here’s the Kos diary, with more than 800 comments from the super sleuths: Daily Kos: [updated] Hillary’s ad: debate footage doctored to make Obama blacker.

What I see in these pictures is the typical color alteration that happens from transferring and copying video segments, which also accounts for the aspect ratio changes; different equipment, different software, different video sources. The color isn’t darkened, it’s desaturated, and I doubt very much that it’s deliberate. They’re comparing colors from low resolution processed video, seen on a computer screen. The idiocy makes my head hurt.

Oh, brother.

It’s another nutroots mass delusion. But they’re so cute when they’re all worked up like that! No, wait... actually, they aren’t.

Would the subtext of this be that moonbats think making someone blacker is an insult?

Sounds like the hang-up is theirs, especially given the fact that 10 out of 10 Obama supporters list the fact that he is "black", if not number 1, then at least in the top 5 things they have to say good about him.

I have an HP desktop circa 2000, with an even older monitor, that I used to capture analog TV video. Every thing comes out 'way to black, too dark. Is it the monitor, or the video capture card, or the capture software? How do I fix it?

Those captured video clips when displayed on another desktop are still too dark, but not as dark as the original.

Something about gamma? What do you think?

I don't know about B. Hussein Obama, but have you ever seen Oprah on TV? They make her complexion 1/2 as black as it is in real life. She has done the Michael jackson "lighten up" for years. When you see her on video footage on one of the entertainment shows or some regular photograph she's twice as black as she appears on her show. Another person with a color complex.

Well, Lizards...hitched up my pants, went to the polls, put on the most dour, hopeless face I could muster...asked for a Democrat ballot...and voted for Frau Clinton. Well, some say Democracy (liberty) is an ongoing experiment, so I guess you could say I put on my lab coat and participated by introducing my own, small variable. They were interviewing a black woman and asked her is she was torn, wanting to vote for Hillary because she was a woman and vote for Obama because she was black.

I don't know exactly how to put this, but I am stunned and disgusted that people are talking about basing their votes on sex or race, and when it is discussed openly in public, no one seems to have a problem with that or is in the least shocked and what the voter is admitting to.

I'm digusted with the sexism/racism, sure, but more so at the matter-of-fact acceptance of it by everyone.

The used Wellbutrin in one of those stop smoking patches or drugs. It ended up giving some people heart attacks which is a side effect. Haven't you read SSRI's aren't all their "cracked" up to be. Try meditation, I'm not joking.

It's extremely common in political ads to darken the image of the opponent or even simply to make such images black and white. I don't see how this is unusual, and I don't understand how video transferring necessarily leads to color degradation.

I'm sure meditation works for some people, but antidepressants work for me. As I understand the study, they aren't effective for people with mild depression. That just indicates to me that it's being prescribed for people who don't really need it. For them, meditation, talk therapy, or support from friends and family are probably a better choice. For me, when I'm off my meds -- you ever see the Incredible Hulk?

Dear Editor,

Mr. Ali Elahi states that Israel is threatening Gaza with a "Holocaust", then suggests that Israel has been slaughtering Palestinian Children for 60 years.
A cursory inspection of my History books suggests that Millions of Jews, and others were murdered in the Holocaust.
What there appears to be in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an ongoing battle.
Israel has superior fire power and yet, they show unbelievable restraint in their response to daily rocket attacks from Palestinians ( who occasionally take a few moments away from killing each other to fire rockets randomly into Israel ) I find a huge lack of evidence to suggest a Holocaust has occurred or will occur.
Mr Ali Elahi would have us take sympathy on the Palestinians because they have historically have lacked the aiming skills to kill an adequate number of Israelis.
He urges Americans to ask Israel to stop defending its citizens against rocket attacks.

What Imam Ali Elahi fails to recognize is that if there were terrorist thugs in Royal Oak firing rockets into Troy, Birmingham, Madison Heights, etc, the response would not be so measured. Americans would be calling for the total annihilation of the thugs firing the rockets.
Mr Ali Elahi lacks a basic understanding of the American spirit when he asks other countries to do something that no American would tolerate.

I would urge all Citizens of Detroit to watch the translations of Palestinian television, ( widely available on the internet translated by MEMRI ) where a child named Saraa hosting a program for children, calls for the murder of all Israeli citizens and calls for Palestinian children to become suidice bombers.
These people worship death and you cannot negotiate peace with people who worship death.

I know the guy in the USA Today article. The first time I saw him without makeup, I didn't recognize him. The disease is really disfiguring, and quite horrible.

Second pic has 20% or so less red. Beyond that, not much difference, except for aspect ratio, and pics being not quite the same frame.

I have vitiliago. I'm white. It started about 5 years ago as a patch on the back of my hand. I now have white splotches all over my body. The worst is the spots on my face and arms, they seem even lighter than they normally would because I have had tanned skin in the past. I wear 50 SPF now a days, but the damage is done. On places like my legs, that seldom see the light of day, you almost can't tell.

It is not pleasant having to explain to people (even worse when they say, oh, like Michael Jackson?) why I look like a bleeding Dalmatian.

Not a fun disease, and it IS embarrassing and makes you feel like you have a neon light pointing out every fricking spot. It makes every other flaw you have seem magnified.

The answer from my doctor, wear long sleeves...I changed doctors. The new one at least empathizes, even though he can't help.

What did the statement Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai said about a bigger shoah mean?

As families struggle with spiralling violence and crippling poverty in the West Bank and Gaza, a growing number are using a new tactic to feed and shelter their children: sending them to an Israeli jail. Hundreds of parents are encouraging their offspring to get arrested for petty crimes, such as carrying a knife or verbal harassment, because life in jail is seen as better than life at home.
Children go willingly into Israeli custody because prison provides them a temporary escape from the endless boredom and harsh violence of life in the occupied territories.
Their parents, in turn, receive financial compensation for their hardship from the Palestinian Authority, money that often amounts to their only income.

Mr Ali Elahi lacks a basic understanding of the American spirit when he asks other countries to do something that no American would tolerate.

I would urge all Ccitizens of Detroit to watch the translations of Palestinian television, (widely available on the internet translated by MEMRI), where a child named Saraa, hosting a program for children, calls for the murder of all Israeli citizens and calls for Palestinian children to become suidice bombers.

These people worship death and you cannot negotiate peace with people who worship death.

Indeed, as I learned by following an LGF link recently, Obama had only one Black great great grandparent, which isn't enough to qualify him as Black, according to the current laws. I have vitiliago. I'm white. It started about 5 years ago as a patch on the back of my hand. I now have white splotches all over my body. The worst is the spots on my face and arms, they seem even lighter than they normally would because I have had tanned skin in the past. I wear 50 SPF now a days, but the damage is done. On places like my legs, that seldom see the light of day, you almost can't tell.

It is not pleasant having to explain to people (even worse when they say, oh, like Michael Jackson?) why I look like a bleeding Dalmatian.

Not a fun disease, and it IS embarrassing and makes you feel like you have a neon light pointing out every fricking spot. It makes every other flaw you have seem magnified.

The answer from my doctor, wear long sleeves...I changed doctors. The new one at least empathizes, even though he can't help.

I don't know about B. Hussein Obama, but have you ever seen Oprah on TV? They make her complexion 1/2 as black as it is in real life. She has done the Michael jackson "lighten up" for years. When you see her on video footage on one of the entertainment shows or some regular photograph she's twice as black as she appears on her show. Another person with a color complex.
