Reuters Hits Rock Bottom

Fri, Mar 7, 2008 at 11:21:28 am PST

Just when you think the mainstream wire services can’t possibly debase themselves any further, they release a photograph like this one, taken by Reuters Palestinian propagandist Ibraheem Abu Mustafa, with an unbelievably sick and distorted caption:

Palestinian Hamas activists take part in an anti-Israel rally organized by the Hamas movement in Gaza March 7, 2008. REUTERS/Ibraheem Abu Mustafa (GAZA)

“Activists!”

Those are children. And in fact, they’re Hamas child soldiers.

Reuters should be utterly ashamed of themselves for this.

Hamas says new air defense system kept Israeli helicopters at bay

GAZA CITY — Hamas reports it has deployed an indigenous air defense system in the Gaza Strip.

The Islamic regime said the air defense system was activated during the Israeli incursion of the northern Gaza Strip in early March. Hamas said the system's heavy machine guns drove off Israeli attack helicopters that came to evacuate injured troops in the Jabalya refugee camp.

"A unique surprise was when the air defense unit in [Hamas's] Al Kassam Brigades, with only six machine guns and from a different places, launched intensive fire towards Zionist planes, which arrived half an hour after the attack," Hamas said in a statement on March 5.

That's "Kill the Beast, slit his throat, bash him in!", if you are quoting Lord of the Flies.

I found these three lines in order of appearance. The line I quoted from memory was incorrect.

1. 'Kill the pig, Cut her throat, Spill her blood.'

2. 'Kill the pig, Cut his throat...Bash him in.'

3. 'Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!'

. Note to self: Don't rely on memory.

OT (sorta......it IS about a child..... :)

-- I am a Grandmama again, as of one hour ago.....the little sweetheart's name is "Reagan".... :)

Is that a boy or girl? I considered that name for my son, who was born just after President Reagan died, but we had another name we'd already pretty much settled on.

re: #25 jamgarr

I wholeheartedly agree. It's Lord of the Flies meets Hitler Youth. Disgusting and utterly unsetteling.

Elokim help us all in this dark hour.

100 kellino  Fri, Mar 7, 2008 11:58:08am

Notice that the adults celebrating the murder of 8 Jews are labeled as "Hamas supporters" by Reuters.

But the children in battle cammo and weidling axes and rockets are clearly just "activists".

I guess we should admire their social consciousness.

103 rightymouse  Fri, Mar 7, 2008 12:00:53pm

Towards the end of his reign in Germany, Hitler relied heavily on the Hitler Youth to help secure Berlin.

I doubt Reuters sees any common atrocity in using children this way.

This may actually work against the Hamasses.

Perhaps if the label of "racist" were thrown at them they'd come under more condemnation.

al-Reuters is shameless

107 amphibian  Fri, Mar 7, 2008 12:12:23pm

Looks like one of the usual crap al-Reuters captions to me.

Don't worry, Charles, if Reuters has actually hit rock bottom, I'm sure they'll discover a way to start drilling. Of course, when the situation blows, either when the civilized world comes to its senses and cleans house or when (God forbid!) Israel goes the way of Czechoslovakia and the jihadniks start making themselves impossible to ignore, Reuters will still be there (having flopped 180 degrees), acting as if it was on the right side all along.

re: #2 Thorfin

One must be careful. THese KIDS have proven all over the world that they can pull the trigger or demo a bomb the same as an adult.

Yeh. As Charles said, child soldiers.

That's "Kill the Beast, slit his throat, bash him in!", if you are quoting Lord of the Flies.

. Thank you.

And yet its worse. The boys in Lord of the Flies turn to evil in absence of adult authority. Here we see said authority being used to foster villainy. Moreover, now the viciousness is in the service of a totalitarian ideology, which makes it infinitely worse. A simple tyrant like Jack from the LotF may be deterred by proper strength, those driven by Radical Islam will keep coming at us until killed. With this as Islam's next generation, a bloodbath is certain. The only things that remain to be decided is whose blood will be spilled, how much blood, and where it will be spilled. God save us...

Enlisting children to fight adult wars is a war crime. Such photos should be used as evidence to prosecute Hamas.

Snippet from an article published in "The Guardian":

Prosecutors at the international war crimes tribunal opened a hearing yesterday which they said would show that the world will not tolerate the conscription of child soldiers.
The international criminal court, hearing its first case, began considering evidence against Thomas Lubanga, an alleged Congolese warlord accused of recruiting child soldiers and forcing them to kill and mutilate his enemies.

"The practice of conscripting or enlisting children and using them in warfare represents one of the most brutal and morally troubling crimes against one of the most vulnerable groups in times of war: children," the deputy prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, told the court.

"We hope to send a message that those who use children to fight adult wars will face prosecution under the full weight of international law."

But will the ICC have the courage to call Hamas to account and risk terrorist attacks and leftist hostility or will retreat behind blather about Hamas simply engaging in "legitimate resistance"? Sadly, I expect the latter.

When will it end? When one side is dead.

So how come the double standard?

Because anything "anti imperialist" cannot be bad and the narrative has to change accordingly

Shi'ite cleric and leader Muqtada Al-Sadr was secretly transferred a few days ago from Iraq to Iran for hospitalization as he was comatose.

It was reported that his illness resulted from food poisoning.

Al-Sadr is being treated by Iranian specialists, as well as by Russian doctors brought in to help the Iranian medical staff treat him.

hope it was a good meal

what kind of food posioning leaves someone comatose?

The Roosevelt legacy lives on. Liberalism is now a cult who's interests debilitates the free human spirit. Power to coddle the weakness of mediocrity and bring mankind to it's knees.

Pope Benedict condemns "activism".
Of religious people in this case, but it can be extrapolated to all kinds of "activism", an occupation that brings good to no one.
Activism is just a code word for idiotic toeing of the leftist line.

That's an excellent comment: CHILD SOLDIERS-here's link to UNICEF Child Soldier plus DEFINITION [Link: www.unicef.org...]

These kids fit the OFFICIAL U.N. DEFINITION 100%, no caveats. How come the Palestinians get a free pass on forcing children into being child soldiers? EVERYONE AGREES it's reprehensible. Very good material to employ when debating.
