Anti-War Loons Plan to Imprison Recruiters in Pittsburgh

Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 9:13:47 pm PDT

Next week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, anti-war lunatics are planning to storm a military recruiting office and imprison the recruiters in a “movable cage.”

On Wednesday, March 19, POG will be holding a torch-lit march to a modern day castle of abominations—our local military recruiting station. If the station remains open, we intend to evict it and everything inside of it, occupy the location, and transform it into something useful for the community. We’ll also be bringing a movable cage in which to confine military recruiters until they no longer pose a danger to our friends and neighbors.

Put a Marine in cage, go ahead and try. I'll reserve the hospital bed for ya'.

That ought to go over really well after the bombing in Times Square.

13 descolada9  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:19:23pm

Too bad they don't get this worked up about saving aborted babies. Oh, wait, that's all about a woman's right to choose.

A young man or woman choosing to serve their country must be brainwashed, right?

Almost sadly, I would expect our Marines to be too respectful to give these freaks the ass-kicking they so richly deserve. But then again, I credit US Marines with a lot more maturity and self-control than I do LLL's.

My continuing thanks and gratitude to all of our men and women in uniform.

Hahaha! Good luck with that. This has EPIC FAIL written all over it, I wish I could be there to witness it first hand. If this is filmed, expect the footage to turn up on an episode of Max-X one day.

More likely than not, only a handful of wusses will show up, shuffle their feet, shout some "truf ta powa", and go back to their mommies' basements.

You mean the bombing we (the VRWC) pulled off to undercut the subtantial credibility of the Code Pinkos, truthers, and World Can't Wait types?

23 ROPMA  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:21:33pm

I hope the military does not close this recruiting station during this protest. They need to station 10-20 Navy Seals there to protect this recruiting station.

24 Idle Drifter  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:21:53pm

Unlawful imprisonment. Unlawful seizure of property. Squaters. Assault, I don't think a lot of the recruiters are going to go quietly. What else?

The bitch of it is, you know, that if a marine or soldier actually does hurt one of these nuts, they will find themselves in big trouble, maybe even get arrested. And the wingnuts will howl with rage at the militarys' "oppressive means of dealing with critics". It's a no win for them.

First rule of success in any assault attempt: Announce it a week ahead of time. Completely eliminate the element of surprise.

Second rule: Bring torches. Cover of darkness is highly overrated.

The Marines are in big trouble, here. Trouble!

51 Last Mohican  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:27:47pm

I can't wait for the unveiling of the movable cage! I'm rooting for papier mache.

I also loved the POG's mission statement: "We seek to understand and oppose the inter-connected forms of oppression while utilizing non-hierarchical, consensus-based organizing."

A few decades ago I knew a guy who was a self-described anarchist. They enjoyed going to stuff like this, destroying public property, and getting arrested. It was a fun way to meet people to date.

52 leereyno  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:27:54pm

I would dearly love to see them try to do this. You see the smartest thing that the recruiters could possibly do is comply with them. Forget kicking their ass today because where these scumbags are headed their ass is going to be getting pounded by Bubba for the next 30 years.

Detaining someone and locking them in a cage is KIDNAPPING. Doing this to a member of the military on active duty makes that a FEDERAL OFFENSE.

The scumbags will be sent to prison where they belong. Unlike Berkeley, prison is not a place where "But I'm a pacifist!" will save you from getting shanked in the yard, or save your ass from being raped in the showers.

57 realwest  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 9:28:58pm

Whoa CHARLES - whaddya on some kind of speed or something today? It's been impossible to keep up with all the great threads you've put up today!

And, FWIW, what the POG is proposing is illegal in several respects - violations of State and Federal Laws including, but limited to, kidnapping (or at least holding someone against their wishes). I sure hope those recruiters could be armed with their .45's, er, 9mm (sorry, showing my age) but they are NEVER armed at recruiting stations. However, they would be within their rights to refuse to be kidnapped using any and all means available to them.
Anyone here from Pittsburg - seems like some good folks should show up to "help" the recruiters all that they can.
And while we are all laughing at the idea of these degenerates throwing Marines or Rangers or Navy personnel out of the recruiting office, much less into "cages", please lets remember that if the recruiters are outnumbered by say 20 to one, it could happen.
Wonder what the Patriot Guard Riders are doing that day and if they'll be in Pittsburg?

The link's next cause: Anarchism

Anarchism, in advocating a free society of free individuals, is perhaps the only political tradition that has consistently rooted out domination in its many forms, while also attempting to theorize and practice utopian alternatives. With its emphasis on an ethical prefigurative politics, anarchism holds out a directly democratic, egalitarian replacement for the hegemony of representative democracy and capitalism. It has thus contributed to diverse experiments in horizontal organization and nonhierarchical social relations, alongside or in solidarity with a variety of anti-authoritarian movements worldwide.

A quiz to follow.

Tough talk, the kind of thing everyone in the sedition industry, ie mainstream media, condemn when it comes from loyal Americans, but still just talk. It will come to nothing. Soros will intervene to stop it, since it might work against the leftist propaganda campaign to seize the White House.

If they do try it, especially the kidnapping, it will be the worst day for domestic liberals since the Rosenbergs were fried.

re: #68 Dianna Hi Dianna - why "gently, and non-violently"? These recruiters are OUR troops and most have served combat tours. Why the hell should we let them even be touched by those scum? They want to play "rough" by kidnapping those recruiters and then put them in "cages" - so why should we respond "repectfully" to that?

re: #78 Racer X

I just realized -

Doesn't the fact that they are "organized" negate their whole dream of being "anarchists"?

No, you see, this is Anarchy 2.0:

With its emphasis on an ethical prefigurative politics, anarchism holds out a directly democratic, egalitarian replacement for the hegemony of representative democracy and capitalism. It has thus contributed to diverse experiments in horizontal organization and nonhierarchical social relations, alongside or in solidarity with a variety of anti-authoritarian movements worldwide.

re: #83 song_and_dance_man

There's nothing wrong with anarchism, provided every single human being is the embodiment of all the cardinal virtues.

Considering that I, personally, am very well aware that I lack both prudence and temperance, and I'm pretty damned sure most of the rest of us lack at least one virtue, anarchism is a very...impractical...idea.

That is precisely why someone must pound them before they are carted off to prison. The boot up the ass now will save Bubba some KY later by preparing the ground. /kidding

Seriously though, I doubt they'll even show up. This has got out way too soon. I would expect them to be met a wall of loyal Americans and to slink off without ever even touching the station. They'll make some noise and pretend they did a brave thing while inwardly wondering what it is that gives those old vets who stood them off their courage.

The variety and quality of outfits was superb, with everything from tuxedos to guys in dresses to those rocking their regular street clothes. People went out of their way to be formal, exotic, inventive, traditional, and just plain HOT.

Thank you to DJ Rose What! for the awesome tunes, to the people who made the circle A cookies, to those who brought refreshments (that was a hell of a lot of punch%uFFFD) and helped decorate the space. Anarchists & others are planning intimidation and violence/property damage here in the San Francisco Bay Area, also on March 19th. I have word that Greenpeace will also be involved in some capacity with various groups that plan on targeting specified places in downtown San Francisco. You can see the website for yourself:

[Link: bayareadirectaction.wordpress.com...]

Additionally, it's been discovered that the group with which I am involved has also been targeted, which is why we won't be there. These anarchists don't like Zionists and physical violence is not beyond them.

Someone like Prince Kropotkin, who really believed in mutual aid, had a lovely conception of anarchism as the complete absence of oppression. People like Kropotkin break my heart. They see us as so much better than we really are in the mass. Or even just on a bad day.

Or maybe Kropotkin just didn't understand the human survival instinct?

Maybe they could use this as a situation to field test that super slippery goo I saw on Modern Marvels last night. At the least it could be funny to watch a bunch of protesting idiot anarchists devolve into slippery flailing chaos.

They had a lot of other really cool items on that episode, too... like that pain-beam thing, and the directed-sound weapon, or that bright-flashing-lights gun that causes dizziness and stuff.

But, you're right, that slippery-as-snott stuff would be cool to see them trying to get past. Buahahahahaha!

183 swamprat  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 10:04:13pm

The left is really scraping the barrel because the war effort is entirely voluntary; the usual student rebellion stuff just doesn't work. They are all over the board on their reasons, also. Iraqis are said to be not worthy of freedom, which is completely out of the usual "one world, one love", and "we are the world" type of theme.....Then there is the "they don't want freedom!" theme, which is typical of the truly far left, but not believable for sane human beings. And still yet, we have the "winning is not possible" theme, although, frighteningly enough, we seem to be winning after all. If we do pull this off, there will be a lot of unhappy people. Except, maybe, for the Iraqis themselves, the middle east in general as peace spreads out like a blanket, and of course the world, as trade increases and poverty eases.......But weapons sellers *cough* russia *cough* will be pretty much out in the cold.
So who do you think is behind the protests? Probably, well meaning average citizens who are not just idiots listening to left-wing foreign-inspired manipulative propaganda, and who are not too intellectually lazy to look and think for themselves. No, just well meaning folks.

......Fools, tools, and traitors, every one of them

In reality, a true anarchy would only last moments before the strong began to impose their rule on the weak, thus negating said anarchy.

Actually, Ballard did find the Yorktown in 1998 at a depth of about 16000 ft. (almost a mile deeper than the Titanic.) And the webpage that hosts that illustration does indicate that it is a painting.

The twit who organizes this should do some very long serious jail time along with helpers/followers... Something about active sedition or treason comes to mind but I'm not sure we really have the collective will to hang assholes anymore for being actively treasonous... matter of fact/my opinion (same difference to me) I think the fact that the punishments that used to warrant death sentences a few generations ago being watered down to just a few years of jail time over the decades last century is the main reason we have the highest per capita incarceration rate in the world... but that's just me...

The AK-47 is so readily available (mostly cause it was overproduced in several different countries to sell to poor loons who would get little or no firearms training or range time), as is the ammo, that it ranks up there as #1 in my opinion. Shoots full auto so well that even an older, weaker (from cancer) guy like me can use it on full auto with great effect. Moreover it isn't built to very high specifications, technically, can be dropped and dragged trhough muck and mud and still fire. And it has waaay more penetrating power than the M-16.
BTW, my personal fav was the good ole M-14 for semi-auto, but full auto forget about it! LOL!

Just starting this thread, so I don't know what others have said, but I'll make the following observation.

The Left likes to provoke violence so that they get to be the "underdog." This is how they got the "Chicago Seven," now a movie that I won't see, to be famous.

Rather than beating up these scum, it's useful to find ways to harass them so that they truly suffer, but can't use their suffering to make a good story for the newspapers. Conservatives should read the works of Saul Alinsky. His ideas, called "direct action," work for conservatives as well as leftists.

Since it's late, I'm not in a real creative mood, but trust me, these stupid leftists can be beat using their very own techniques.

The idjits planning this "protest" have actually more or less figured out that the recruiting station won't respond with grenades and machine guns. They have that much brains.

So, nothing much will happen. The demonstrators will arrive, find the facility protected by the law, and leave.

Yes, you may be right, IF they did touch or really threaten a recruiter.
But these people are, in my opinion, attention whores.....And they think they are so damned important, so righteous. There's nothing that pisses them off more than being laughed at and ignored, dismissed as less than little gnats. They'd rather be arrested or even beaten up than that.

re: #231 BlueCanuck

Morning red, been awhile. Please educate me. What's boxer primed?

center fire ammo comes in either boxer or berdan primed configuration.

boxer is *much* easier to reload, and usually comes in a brass case.

berdan primed ammo is way harder to reload, and (at least with former ComBloc ammo) often is in a steel or other material case, making it cheaper, but unsuitable to reload.

HTH.

re: #242 BlueCanuck

Berdan cases essentially are not worth reloading... it's a whole lotta hassle, and only worth it if the brass is otherwise unavailable and can't be formed from some other case.
e.g. 7.65 Belgian (1891Mauser) cases can be formed from .30-06 cases...
just run the .30-06 brass through 7.65 dies, and trim to length, then fire-form. Voila.

I hear the 'burgh has changed some since I grew up there (about 3 and 1/2 gazillion years ago - and actually in New Kensington, but who's counting?) But this is amazing. They sound like typical leftoid nuts like you meet everywhere. In my day, even the counter-culture freaks had notable local characteristics that marked them out as coming from western pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Police I knew when I was young wouldn't have had any trouble dealing with this kind of freakiness - and would do it without violence, not even the accidental kind. (They had practice dealing with drunken ethnic steelworkers)

Be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this. I'll have to ask my mom to forward the news - she lives in the southern suburbs now (Mt. Lebanon, for all you 'burghers out there.)

She idolizes Alinsky. And then says things like,

Alinsky claims a position of moral relativism, but his moral context
is stabilized by a belief in the eventual manifestation of the goodness of
man. He believes that if men were allowed to live free from fear and want they
would live in peace.

Gee, moral relativism is OK, and naive old-school socialist thought it tossed around like pizza dough.

To dramatize his warning to the poor, Alinsky proposed sending Negroes
dressed in African tribal costumes to greet VISTA volunteers arriving in Chicago. This action would have dramatized what he refers to as the "colonialism" and the "Peace Corps mentality" of the poverty program.

"Negroes" in Chicago?

I'm a little late to this party, so please forgive me if I'm asking a question that has been addressed already. But, I've been wondering for a while now, especially while reading Zombie's enlightening reports, how and why it is legal for anyone to infringe upon the military's constitutional right to conduct their business for any reason whatever? After all, the constitution grants the authority to organize and maintain a military. Why are these people not arrested the second they try to block entrance to a recruiting office, let alone overthrow it in some anarchist orgasm?

I don't in any way mean this in the facist sense, but we need to, as a people, do something to reign in these lunatics. As evinced by their tactics in the schools of Berkeley, they are brainwashing children and teaching them that this country has no right to defend itself, simply because they disagree with a specific military action. Maybe it's just me, but I am afraid of what this country is going to turn into if we don't have the collective balls to stand up to these idiots and tell them that they are not only wrong, but that they are not acting in a way that is becoming of civilized individuals.

We let these people dictate the parameters of the conversation by fearing which of their percieved rights that they claim to have been infringed upon by questioning them and telling them that they are, not only wrong, but dangerous. Personally, I've grown extremely weary of allowing this kind of idiocy to dictate how we deal with idiocy in our society.

I'm going to be sick tonight.

This is very true. I think I fall into the minimalization and willful ignorance trap of convincing myself that the LLL can not POSSIBLY be this insane, but deep down I know they are. I still remember the night a couple of years ago when Hannity and Colmes had on a member of the San Fran city council discussing the council's opposition to a retired battleship being placed in the harbor as a memorial and museum. When that moron said that he didn't believe that the U.S. had a right to even have a military, I almost blew a gasket. A substantial portion of my innocence died that evening.

My God. Their arguments are just so blatently illogical that I'm not even really sure how to wrap my mind around it anymore. I'm so used to dealing with logic that I have no idea how to even begin to approach illogic. It's a personal flaw that I think I need to work on.

re: #278 zombie

I found this interesting (Chap 5) -

Alinsky, ever consistent in his inconsistency, recently expanded his radical commitment to the eradication of powerless poverty and the injection of meaning into affluence. His new aspect, national planning, derives from the necessity of entrusting social change to institutions, specifically the United States Government. Alinsky's trust in the "people" must be distinguished from his distrust of the status quo and the people who make up that mysterious condition.

There are a couple of reasons that come to mind regarding not hammering Hillary over this. One, it's old. Remember the pass that Michelle Obama got over her Princeton thesis not too long a go. Two, she's not the nominee. Why fire the best shots now? Third, will the moderates / undecideds really understand and or care?

Just got this via email:

A PAID POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT
BY SEN. BARACK OBAMA
(D- ILL)

My fellow Identity-Americans.

As your future president I want to thank my supporters, for their... well, support.

Your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behaviour somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

I would also like to thank the Kennedys for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King Jr. and Teddy killed a teenage girl. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively.

And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support.
Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.

Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt.

I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them.

Americans are tired of thinking.

It's time to shut down the brain, and open up the heart.

So when you go to vote in the primaries, remember don't think, just do.

And do it for me.
Thank You.

Line people up around the block to talk to the recruiter. Young, old, male, female, well, infirm... no matter. Just get your body down there and stand with pride with the recruiter. And when he tells you that you're not fit for duty, thank him anyway for his time.

Seriously, are the radicals gonna take on ALL of us, when they thought they would be taking on just one or two Marines?

Where is Morro Rock?

California central coast. Exactly midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Sadly, the city decided it was necessary to put a huge ugly power plant on the coast. Otherwise, Morro Bay would be the picture perfect town.

324 kynna  Tue, Mar 11, 2008 11:31:46pm

Well I imagine they plan on pointing guns at the recruiters to get them to enter the cages. Otherwise how do they expect to do it? Certainly not with the brute force of their bare hands.

And if you point a gun at a marine or ranger could they not take that as a credible threat and shoot your hiney off?

In any case, they aren't getting any recruiters in a cage. I would love it more than chocolate if they ended up in their own 'moveable' cage though.

Seriously.

They are supposed to cut the stacks down to 1/3 size, but the city keeps changing the conditions.

The plant runs on fuel oil (diesel) and is basically powered by a couple of jet engines. It's days are numbered, no more tanker dock in the outer bay & the pipeline to Bakersfield will probably not be given an environmental permit, when it needs to be replaced.

The town grew up around the power plant, then?

No! The power plant was added in the 1950s, long after the town was well-established and a tourist center.

The Dynegy power plant, previously owned by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Duke Energy, and LSPower (PG&E), plays a large role in Morro Bay, and in providing reliable electricity to the central coast and the central valley of California (primarily Fresno and Bakersfield). Its future is currently, as of 2007, uncertain. The current plant was built in the 1950s,

They must have been out of their minds.

Not only that, it's running at 5% capacity -- a ruinous eyesore for basically no purpose:

Due primarily to economics, the plant is currently operating at relatively low capacity factors (approximately 5%) under contract with PG&E.

re: #324 kynna

Of course I don't know if the Pittsburgh Organizing Group (an ironic name for anarchists, no?) plans to bring weapons to the recruiting station. The so-called anarchist I used to know said people would wear devices to protect them from the police's non-lethal weaponry. For example, they'd wear motorcycle helmets, and they'd wrap their forearms in chicken wire (under their sleeves) so that baton blows to the forearms could be parried more easily. They didn't bring offensive weapons, though. They really weren't interested in accomplishing anything other than setting fire to a few dumpsters (because it looks cool), and getting arrested and released (because chicks dig that).

By the way, I suggest that y'all not send them nasty emails via their website. They have a section of the site where they post nasty emails that they have received. I think it'll only reinforce their illusion that they're engaged in something of any importance, thereby making them feel really radical and awesome, increasing the rate at which they hook up with each other and their friends, and generally delaying the point at which they mature past this nonsense and find other ways to make friends.

A Morro Bay blogger says:

This is the view from our deck. Like I said, the stacks are hard to miss. But you get used to them. The plant is supposed to close. Or be downscaled with smaller stacks. There's a big debate about what to do. A few months ago there was an absolutely ridiculous opinion piece in the paper about how the stacks are historical and part of Morro Bay history and should be saved. Puh-lease. They're an eyesore, and they've only been around since the 1950s. They used to pump out some corrosive shit, and PG&E would have to pay for paint jobs for resident's cars.

No no no. Didn't mean "anger" at all! Irish (& Scottish) music just gets in my blood, makes me want to dance. It's the bagpipes, the drums, the fiddles... can't describe it. Fires me up.

As far as I'm concerned violent protests should be met with equal force.

Surely you mean overwhelming force?

#302 Colonel Panik

I've known Trevor for 25 years and know that he has systematically infiltrated gathered and cross referenced data from most of the extreme left in Australia and NZ as well as having a very good handle on far left groups throughout SE Asia and the Americas. His knowledge and recall are truly awe inspiring and he is a real inspiration to all those who oppose the left. His massive historical database of Leftist activities , personnel, relationship and plans rivals many national security agency databases.

You should read the current New Zealand Prime Minister's file. It'll make your hair stand on end. All systematically logged cross referenced and notated mostly from first person accounts and the actual notes and leftist publications, meeting minutes etc.

The man is a true patriot.

French banks release Iran's frozen assets

Presidential Advisor for legal and parliamentary affairs Majid Jafarzadeh said on Tuesday that the assets of Central Bank of Iran (CBI), which were seized by French banks, have been released.
[...]
"In the past, the US and the Zionist regime had enacted illegal laws which ran counter to international law to encourage their nationals to lodge unfounded and baseless financial charges against our country's officials and had issued judgment by default to seize Iranian assets at foreign banks but due to hard efforts of the Iranian judiciary officials, their plots failed and resulted in the issuance of a verdict on January 24, 2008 that nullified all these baseless accusations and unfounded charges."

Hahaha! Good luck with that. This has EPIC FAIL written all over it, I wish I could be there to witness it first hand

Please, oh *please* let someone with a camera show up to film this!

Theres' a limit to what the Marines will put up with, and line that will not be crossed. And I'm sure that the Marines know exactly where that line is.

Protest? Fine, no problem. Protests are a dime a dozen. Stand in front of the building, wave your stupid picket signs, bare your breasts, sing folk songs, bake brownies, do yoga etc.... no problem. This is America, you're entitled to your stupidity.

Physically assault the recruiters and try to push them into some half-assed "cage" so that you can trash the facility? Uh, hell no.

Um, aren't there a few - I don't know - violent criminals they might want to cage in, instead?

And what about freedom of choice? Who gave those protesters the right to decide what job the recruiters can have? Who gave those protesters the right to withhold information and options, from the public who WOULD like to visit the station?

Finally, are any of those protesters willing to take up an M16, push me and my kids out of harms way, and stand up to an armed enemy, as the soldiers are?

I'm no expert on underwater photography or WWII warships, but that picture looks hinky to me.

That is an artist's rendition based on Dr. Robert Ballard's discovery of the location of the Yorktown, not an actual photo. Anything more than a few yards away at the depth the Yorktown is located would be invisible, and a shot of the entire ship impossible.

See the National Geographic video of the Discoveru of the Yorktown, or any of Dr. Ballard's own books on the subject for more information.

539 subguyss  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 4:55:43am

So in response to the New York Governor thread a few threads back, is there a difference between Lieutenant Governor of NY and Governor of New York? Because David Patterson's title is Lieutenant Governor and I don't know the difference, if any.

Propaganda, realwest.

It would relieve our feelings to scare them or even (give sufficient provocation) hurt them, but it wouldn't win any points. In fact, from a propaganda standpoint, it would hurt our side.

So, gentleness and non-violence. Persuasion and reason, not their brand of "action."

bullshit. the time is soon coming where non-violence will fall by the wayside and some much needed lessons in non-vileness will need to be taught. the left will have only themselves to blame when they finally underestimate how much of this treason and stupidity good people will put up with.

George Soros has got to be backing this somehow. His goal is to have rioting in the streets and civil unrest. Soros is this country's inside threat. His goal is to make us another third world country because he doesn't like the fact that the US is superior. He backed the McCain/Feingold Act, he is backing the UN/Obama income redistribution plan, he was against US attacking Afghanistan after 9/11 and of course he was against US going into Iraq. Here's what I would do if I were a recruiter, I'd play fight but, willingly go into the cage. I'd then rumple up my shirt, un-tuck half of it. Because they are holding it at 6 pm, just in time for the local news, I'd stand there silently until I saw the little red light on the camera pop on. I'd then start crying, saying into the camera "Tell my Mom that I love her, and my little sister that I'm ok" and giving them my name, rank, and serial number. Turn it into a hostage-like situation. In other words play the same game that they play with any authoritarian figure, a little street drama.

565 irongrampa  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 7:39:39am

Been there, endured that, and I say NOT these troops, NOT this war, NOT THIS TIME, BASTARDS.

566 docremulac  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 7:41:46am

Let's look at the math. 1 Marine against say, 10,000 moonbats. At some point the moonbats might win because the Marine, at an ass kicking rate of say 20 moonbats a minute (20 mpm) would only be able to stomp the crap out of about 4,800 moonbats before needing to break for lunch. If forced to skip lunch the mpm rate might drop down to say half that or 2,400 before getting really hungry for dinner. At some point the poor guy needs to sleep and a Marine in his sleep could probably only beat the crap out of a couple of moonbats per minute and, being asleep, might be prone to mistakes and a moonbat might even get a cheap shot in him.

Now of course you let the Marine take naps or snack breaks, the moonbats are really hosed. And if you get multiple Marines involved, well... fu-get-about-it.

"If the station remains open, we intend to evict it and everything inside of it, occupy the location, and transform it into something useful for the community. We'll also be bringing a movable cage in which to confine military recruiters...
Of course, the station may be closed and recruiters may flee or hide behind the police apparatus that enables the war to continue. That is often the case, and we've seen in the past the overwhelming resources the state directs against these anniversary events because of their importance as a symbol of dissent. We believe in acting effectively, in confronting the war, at times and places of our choosing. When the state brings the resources necessary to suppress direct action against the war, it makes sense to hold a symbolic protest..."

POG is obviously bluffing...so I would like to see the authorities call their bluff. They are counting on the office being closed and on police preventing them from even entereing the office.
IMO the recruiting office should be kept open and fully staffed, and local law enforcement should allow POG to temporarily occupy the recruiting office and to falsely imprison the staff and even to put them in a cage. As soon as this has been allowed and filmed, massive police force should be called in with orders to arrest, handcuff and detain all occupiers and all persons involved in the unlawful detention. Police should be authorized to use all necessary force to immediately terminate the occupation of the recruiting office and to liberate the recruitment personnel.

571 JimK  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 8:22:49am

I was working in Pittsburgh when POG organized a "mass protest" at rush hour on a Friday following the start of the war in Iraq. While people were warned that there may be problems, all I saw were some jerks running around and occasionally pounding their open hands on people's cars. I predict another ineffectual but well-covered protest.

It makes me feel bad that these people are giving Thomas Merton a bad name. Leave the poor monk's memory in peace!

re: #197 Slumbering Behemoth

True anarchy is a theoretical "ideal" which can only exist in the mind that conceives it.

In reality, a true anarchy would only last moments before the strong began to impose their rule on the weak, thus negating said anarchy.

That reminds me of a joke:

A cop pulls over an anarchist. The guy is, of course, rude and disrespectful. The cop issues a ticket whereupon the anarchist tells him that, once anarchy breaks out, he won't have to do what the cop tells him to do anymore.

The cop looks at the guy and tells him that once anarchy breaks out, he's going to hunt him down and kill him.

Which is the obvious oversight of these anarchist morons. They've lived so long in the security of mommy's basement that the whole survival of the fittest aspect of their ideology escapes them.

573 wanumba  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 9:05:35am

Nifong was going to railroad the Duke lacrosse trio to prison on far far less, creatively calling stumbling from living room to bathroom as "transport," therefore, "kidnapping."

I sooooooo want these people to do this. The more recruiters they cage up the better. If they would be so kind as to transport their catches even one inch over ANY convenient state line, we should encourage them.

Don't let on ...!

At that point, any actions carried out by the moonbat mob would be :

a. A crime against federal property

c. stupid beyond all belief

This is never gonna happen. Someone's anarchist-enabling lawyer is gonna whisper into their ears before they get rolling. Read them the book, as it were. As in Federal, State and local laws.
Too bad. Really. Too too bad.

I gotta' get out of this state, I live in Erie, PA, a frozen haven for moonbats. I came back here for family reasons (the whole famdamnily is here) and whenever I talk to one of my 'relatives', the first thing they want to whine about is Dubya and Republicans. I'm so sick of hearing them whine, I just tell them if they want to talk to me, let's talk about Farmer Jones' cow having pups. The only thing they ever whine about is 'George 'Hitler' Bush, and retreating from Iraq. Not a one of them has ever been anywhere near the military or a military base. Only one of my cousins served 2 years in The Air Force. My Father is ret. Air Force, and they resent him for his service. Needless to say, we won't be bringing the potato salad to the family reunion, if I ever talk to anyone of them ever again, I could care less. The only time they ever call is when they want something, all of them are moonbat drones.

They might get away with this if they attack a British Navy recruiting center, but the U.S. Marines. I don't think so.

I also sent an email, I'm fed up with these people keeping insulting your troops.

Re: Your proposed *visit* to your local Marine recruiting office

Gentlemen, and ladies, if appropriate.

I gather you are proposing to conduct a raid on your local Marine recruiting office. Part of your plan being to forceably abduct the Marine recruiters and put them in a cage.

I would urge you not to. I am not an American; I am British. However, I support the American Troops as I do my own. Both our countries value freedom and democracy but that freedom that you like so much comes at a price. If you have no wish to defend your country, kindly do not stand in the way of better men and women who will. At present America does not have conscription and those who wish to join the Marines (or other branches of the Armed Forces) do so of their own free will. Apart from your apparent wish to deny others the freedom to chose how they wish to live their lives, you are also insulting and demeaning those who have chosen to give their lives to protecting you.

I find your attitude and your complete lack of any tolerance of people whose opinion differs from yours offensive.

I think I should tell you that your laughable plans are now on the internet and I have little doubt that a great deal of networking is taking place. I would hope that if you make the regrettable decision to go ahead you are likely to find yourselves facing far more than a couple of Marine recruiters.
I do not really know American Law, but I believe that kidnapping and imprisoning such personnel would be regarded as a federal offence and carry a heaby penalty. I would advise you to ask a lawyer....or your local Police authority.
It would not suprise me if your misplaced sense of self importance led you to a spectacular Homer Simpson "Doh!" moment. Make up your own minds - but remember, you shit - you shovel.
Yours

I would have an extremely powerful sound system nearby and whenever these anarchist types showed up, crank up one of the old classic circus tunes. Gotta give these clowns the proper soundtrack! Maybe fire brightly colored paper beanbags at them at high velocity (include some hard candy in the beanbags for them to suck on after the bags disintegrate. Give 'em something to do while waiting on the waa-ambulance).

Gee, I wonder who will actually end up in that cage?

Go recruiters! I'll gladly pay the cleaning bill if you get your uniforms dirty while beating up the hippie scum. In self defense, of course.

Not that I want to promote violins. I dislike violins. :P

uhm... what's that word?

Sedition? Treason? Kidnapping? Forcible confinement (ok two words there)? Don't forget conspiracy to commit the above. I'm no lawyer.

Heard it somewhere some of the above (especially kidnapping) is a federal offence.

592 dak  Wed, Mar 12, 2008 3:03:30pm

I looked at the pictures.

All the recruiters have to do is bring a few bars of soap and a barber. The hippies'll never get near the place.

If there are any Carnegie-Mellon grads out there...
I think I'll go up to my attic, unpack my old gazorch, and round up a couple of bags of well-seasoned kitchen waste. That'll take care of the anarchists real quick. (For those of you out there who missed the fun at CMU in the late 70's or early 80's, think about industrial-size slingshots, used to propel garbage in the direction of a group of people that you disliked intensely.) Reminds me of Monty Python, and the flying cows....

Sadly, I think that all the recruiters are allowed to do is to lock the doors and call the police. That little thing of posse comitatus keeps them from dishing out a ass stomping to the little darlings. Now, if they so much as touch a recruiter and the recruiter is in fear for his/her life, then it becomes another matter entirely.
