Today someone with an IP address in Lahore, Pakistan used Google to search for “denmark sketches of holy prophet s (s),” found LGF in the top results, clicked the link, got really angry and began to seethe, then fired off the following email with a Hotmail return address that may or may not be genuine (nikeanne):

What is the deal with muslim email rants and the inability to spell out the word you? Especially after the three-syllable 'buffaloes stupid' attempt at insult.

OT-

Just got here, has this been brought to light?

Mexico reconquers California? Absolut drinks to that!

The latest advertising campaign in Mexico from Swedish vodka maker Absolut promises to push all the right buttons south of the U.S. border, but it could ruffle a few feathers in El Norte.

The billboard and press campaign, created by advertising agency TeranTBWA and now running in Mexico, is a colorful map depicting what the Americas might look like in an "Absolut" -- i.e., perfect -- world.

The U.S.-Mexico border lies where it was before the Mexican-American war of 1848 when California, as we now know it, was Mexican territory and known as Alta California.

Worked over hard for the past two days.

The best part:

“Many people aren’t going to understand it here. Americans in the East and the North or in the center of the county -- I don’t know if they know much about the history."

But just a couple of paragraphs earlier:

"The U.S.-Mexico border lies where it was before the Mexican-American war of 1848 when California, as we now know it, was Mexican territory and known as Alta California.

Following the war, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo saw the Mexican territories of Alta California and Santa Fé de Nuevo México ceded to the United States to become modern-day California, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona."

Seems to me that the people that obviously 'know much about the history' obviously have chosen to ignore some of it...

There are still very few buffalo available to hunt. The Sioux have some and do have a short hunting season. Most buffalo available for food are farmed in the same way the cows are - though they are range fed rather than penned and usually organic.

Yeah, but "ola" means wave, like in the ocean.

When we write without the Spanish punctuation, sometimes it creates bad confusion. For example: "100 años" is 100 years, but "100 anos" is 100 anuses. That's where the humor would come in!

Is buffalo stupid anything like coyote ugly?

discuss.

Coyote Ugly is hot chicks dancing on the bar- clearly hara'am.

Buffalo stupid is...murtadds who drink?- possibly enough to dance on the bar, but the hotness might be in question (although not mine).

Speaking of Buffalo Girl and Jimmy Stewart...One of my favorite movie lines...

George Bailey: What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary.

re: #63 Crimsonfisted

Ya think? Buffalos conjures up images of:
Western art
Wings
Soldiers
Bill
Nothing insulting there, hmmm, I think he has NO clue what a buffaloe really is except maybe this type?

And not this.

BINGO! Excellent choice of photos, too to make the point. Lahore Guy's buffaloes are WATER Buffalos which are domesticated dumb - led around by the nose. Even Africans would wonder and scratch their heads - their buffaloes are the perpetually bad-tempered and decidedly un-domesticatable CAPE Buffaloes - massive grass grazers which kill more people than the predators. They'll knock ya into the next time zone.
OUR buffaloes are built like freight trains - in fact they've derailed a train a time or two.
So, as usual, a cross-cultural communication gap. Hapless fellow, totally convinced that he'd delivered a good one, but missed completely, a victim of his own ignorance. Maybe if he'd spent a little more time reading about geography, history, or biology instead of constant rote memorizing of only 4 books he'd been more savvy.

Since its inception fourteen hundred years ago, Islam has been at war with the people of this planet. Millions of people have been literally butchered with the sword of Islam.

Some may argue that all religions at one point in time have committed crimes against humanity. That may be so, but none of the existing world religions' foundation has been based upon shedding the blood of its innocent conquered "victims."

Islam lives, breathes and grows on blood. Once we take away this red element from Islam, Islam will vanish completely. Islam cannot possibly live in the hearts and minds of its believers. Islam needs to shed the blood of the infidels, meaning all non-Muslims. Islam is about world domination. Fear of pain and punishment for non-conformism is part of being a Muslim.

Paper toilet

As for picking a buffalo, that must be an insult there, because we have buffalo on our money. I guess we are stupid buffaloes in his world.

I think he meant to say that we have the intelligence of a Buffalo...that we are as stupid as these animals are.

Something like that.

"there are 15.03 million buffaloes in the country, compared to 17.78 million head of cattle - while 71 per cent of the milk consumed in Pakistan comes from buffaloes. Pakistan has nine per cent of the world's buffaloes, but produces 30 per cent of global buffalo milk, which says a lot about the quality of our animals. In terms of buffalo-to-human ratio, Pakistan ranks number one, at 1: 6, compared to India (1: 10) and China (1: 25)."

There is apparently a major shitload of water buffaloes in Pakistan. So it's not surprising that they would use buffaloes as a human comparator.

DAle's angle of impact was approx 37 deg. A very bad angle. Adam Petty, Kyle's son, was killed during a test at New Hampshire at approx the same angle. With the implementation of the Safer Barriers, that relates directly to your mentioned equations, the accident that had the 3rd highest recorded "G force" measurement was Jeff Gordons accident of 2006 at Pocono. I think it was 64 G. Earnhardt was estimated to be 60G. It was the lack of the HANS Device and the angle that got Dale.

The first crusade was about pushing back the invasion by muslims of European countries...not about some outlet for blood lust. Clearly you need to read some actual history...not the PC version from the History Channel.

Actually the genesis was a request from the Byzantine Emperor for troops to kick out the Turks in Anatolia. As with any major geopolitical endeavor there were a myriad of previous events and current situations that drove the Crusades. I don’t doubt that Urban II was sincere in his desire to reclaim the Holy Land. That in and of itself was not enough to get nobles to undertake such an expensive and arduous task. Don’t discount plain greed as a motivator for many Crusaders. You also can’t discount a whole generation of European warriors who subdued the Vikings and Magyars and then had no one left to fight but each other. Urban II knew well how bad for business such in-fighting was, he could not have been blind to how an external war could take some of the pressure off Europe.

And, while we're on the topic of "stump broke"...

I was out hunting in Wyoming with a couple buddies a while back. We came across a sheep with its head stuck in a fence, and my one buddy said, "I'm gettin' me some o' that." He went over and had his way with the sheep. It was horrible. My other buddy saw this and said, "Oh my God!" First buddy says, "you want some of this?" Second buddy says, "sure!" And he went over and stuck his head in the fence.

Naturally, there are variations on the theme out there...

Two Indians come across a sheep in a similar predicament. 1st Indian says, "me wish had woman". 2nd Indian says "me wish was dark".

Yeah, yeah. Mohammed (PBUH, etc.) is the greatest man ever to live, the ultimate truth-revealing prophet (or as the Saudis might refer to him, "profit").

I can accept any religion that loves me and wants to convert me, but not a religion that wants to kill me if I do not convert.

But all that aside, I wonder about this. Decades ago, Tibet was an issue. Now it is not. Now the news is always on about the poor oppressed Palestinians day after day. Never mind the fact that it's the larger Muslim world that has put the Palestinians into the position they are in by using them as pawns in their game of jihad chess and successfully turning them into death-worshipping jihadi front-liners.

China has engaged in colonization and, to be honest about it, slow genocide and culturicide of Tibet since 1959. Yet this issue, once trendy amongst lefties, is now not worth much protest. Where are the liberals? Where is the U.N. The situation has been heating up again and reported on by the MSM for weeks, yet there have been no major protests in the West.

Why, just today:

[Link: www.telegraph.co.uk...]

The tragedy of Tibetans is that they do not have chess masters/"cousins" who are majorities within a vast crescent, who have vast amounts of wealth and an octopus-like network of front groups in the West.

Genocide? Culturicide? It hasn't happened in Gaza or the West Bank. It's happening (happened) in Tibet. Yet we don't here much from the Left.

Two Indians come across a sheep in a similar predicament. 1st Indian says, "me wish had woman". 2nd Indian says "me wish was dark".

A cowboy on a limping horse comes across a Navajo shepherd, his dog, and his flock on a trail. The Navajo holds up his hand in a "stop" gesture, walks over to the horse, and sticks his right ring finger in the horse's ear.

The horse says, "I've got a sharp pebble stuck under my front left shoe."

The cowboy, amazed, asks the Navajo how he did that.

The Navajo tells him just to stick his right ring finger in any animal's ear, and it will speak.

The cowboy dismounts and sticks his finger in the dog's ear. He says "Hey fella, how do you like your master?" The dog answers, "He's a good man; he always feeds me a share of his food and lets me chase rabbits."

The cowboy is further amazed. He turns toward a sheep, finger extended. The Navajo runs over to him shouting "The sheep are all liars!"

I'm not crazy about the "R U ready?" part. What makes this worse than an evangelical Christian asking you "Do you know where you will spend eternity?" is that they aren't in the habit of SENDING people to eternity. Considering that in Islam the penalty for apostasy is death, Muslims are called to "kill the unbelievers wherever you find them," Theo van Gogh was killed for making a film about Islam, and Geert Wilders, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, and Salman Rushdie are all under death fatwas from Islam, I'm a little less likely to cut them a break.

Plus, this fella did a WEB SEARCH. He went out of his way to be offended. Funny, I don't make it a point to look up things I consider blasphemous that have been said about my faith.

He has one valid point; European society was so bloody and destructive that an external outlet was needed. Thus the First Crusade.

That's not a historically valid point. If the guy can't keep his buffaloes straight, why on Earth would anyone take HIS propagandized version of European history as correct?

The Crusades have been a favorite target of the Left, totally misrepresenting them. It was a much more serious and important series of military and political efforts than the Left presents, not a simple outlet needed for European violence.
How about the Children's Crusade? A sad event, possibly the source of the Pied Piper story. A fellow rose up, claiming a mission to liberate the Holy Land, via a mass of children. He went through the towns, and gathered a huge procession of children to follow him to the Mediterranean Coast. Once there, sea transport was contracted. - the naive making bargains with the duplicitous. Many of the children ended up in North African sultanates - slaves to the Muslims of what would become known as the Barbary Coast. Hmm. A stark reminder that Europe may not have been perfect, but even at that time, it was moving ahead of the grasping Empire to the south of it.

The Roman Empire lands of North Africa, the region that produced Augustus, who wrote Confessions, were wealthy, producing abundant crops and products such as wine for consumption and export. When Rome collapsed and was overrun by the Barbarians, these lands, as Europe was, were overrun and sacked. With the destruction and lousy management of the Barbarians, plus the loss of Roman military protection, they were easy pickings for the upstart Muslim invaders.
By the 1700s, American and European observers of North AFrica noted the encroaching desert wastelands - caused by over grazing and the poverty of the region - the old agricultural and vast grazing lands were not being maintained as they had once been kept.
In 1800, In the words of the American consul to Tunis, William Eaton: "The Algerian fleet rotted away under poor management. "her subjects have neither relish nor stimulus to ambition - Her religious system favors indolence by inspiring a reliance on divine interposition, just as it closed their minds "to the Gift of reason."
If the country, "naturally luxuriant and beautiful beyond description, " were in the hands of "an enlightened and enterprising people," it would rival the Medeterrean's opposite shore, "in everything useful, rich and elegeant." But the Tunisians, abject slaves to "their despotic government," could not own property, so they had "no ambition to cultivate" the rich land. In addition to being subject to political tyranny, they were victims of "the worse of all tyrannies, the despotism of preistcraft," and lived in solemn fear of the frowns of a bigot," Mohammed, "who has been dead and rotten about a 1000 years." Indeed the Tunisians were more afraid of the dead Muhammed than the living pasha. ..."but the people are superlatively wretched. They are humbled by the double oppression of civil and religous tyranny; seem to have little enterprize and are grossly ignorant."
Exerpted from Chapter Two: The United States and the Specter of Islam from: The Crescent Obscured: The United States and the Muslim World 1776-1815 -by Robert Allison.

Just a reminder that our current debates have all been done before - the United States first full war was confronting Muslim kingdoms in North Africa. When forming the Constitution, the Founding Fathers debated using the example of Muslim depostism to illustrate their points about the overreach of goevrnment, concepts of liberty and dignity.

If our schools bothered to teach this history, our society would be better prepared for dealing with what's happening now.

Muslim is spared a speeding ban so he can drive between his two wives

When it comes to avoiding a ban for speeding, the courts hear every excuse in the book.

But yesterday one motorist offered what must be a unique reason why he should keep his licence.

Mohammed Anwar said a ban would make it difficult to commute between his two wives and fulfil his matrimonial duties.

His lawyer told a Scottish court the Muslim restaurant owner has one wife in Motherwell and another in Glasgow - he is allowed up to four under his religion - and sleeps with them on alternate nights.

He also needed his driving licence to run his restaurant in Falkirk, Stirlingshire.

Airdrie Sheriff Court had heard that Anwar was caught driving at 64mph in a 30mph zone in Glasgow, fast enough to qualify for instant disqualification.

Anwar admitted the offence, but Sheriff John C. Morris accepted his plea not to be banned and allowed him to keep his licence.

Instead, he was fined £200 and given six penalty points.

/of course, last time I checked, polygamy was also illegal in the UK

re: #459 Rancher

Exactly. Same with the Kurds, there are 30 million Kurds without a state yet the international community obsesses on the 600,000 Palestinians.

It's all about oil. The Left sees it in limited terms: oil corrupts the Right, Iraq is about blood for oil, etc. Sorry, oil corrupts the Left at least as much as it corrupts the Right. Money corrupts all, but the Left is unable of seeing that it's "human rights" priorities are skewed to the point of absurdity by oil profit-based propaganda. The Left is far more dishonest or blinded than the right by oil. The Left is seduced into thinking that fighting for Palestinian "rights" is a great cause, but this is only because money buys propaganda that the Leftists buy into. But they are capitalist dupes, and the capitalists duping them are oil-rich Arab regimes.

too bad soros is such a self loathing jerk, he could put useful cash where his hate hole is but he can't bring down america helping the tibetans,
who are so more deserving of a state than the scum who are used as pawns and propped up by the m.e, despots knowing of our need for oil and the concessions we make to get it. our need for oil and their greed and hatred of israel. that's what is going on.
and all the libs in volvos drive around smug and happy, confident that they are making a difference w/ that bumper sticker.
altruism doesn't exist. chatter at a cocktail party has taken its place,

The hypocrisy is nauseating. With the Palestinians, you have people who had a choice and could have chosen to live a life like most others' and worship Allah or whatever deity they wished. Instead, they chose to reflexively reject everything short of absolute "victory" and annihilation of everyone else living in their neighborhood (Jews and Christians).

In contrast, the Tibetans barely raised a finger against their Han Chinese oppressors and are now without any powerful supporters. The Tibetan cause was briefly trendy, but without oil money to back them up geopolitically, they were doomed.

Lesson? Islam + terrorism + oil money + oil-money-fueled propaganda = top agenda item. Genocide and culturicide without money, despite a popular figure (the Dalai Lama) = nothing, news stories without bite, Olympic games okay.

re: #706 conservgirl

HErmeneutics is a field of linguistics and philosophy. It refers to how you interpret texts. Its sorta nerdy. (So am I.) Let me get you a better definition.

Here it is. Enjoy! From Wikipedia...

"Hermeneutics may be described as the development and study of theories of the interpretation and understanding of texts. In contemporary usage in religious studies, hermeneutics refers to the study of the interpretation of religious texts.
It is more broadly used in contemporary philosophy to denote the study of theories and methods of the interpretation of all texts and systems of meaning. The concept of "text" is here extended beyond written documents to any number of objects subject to interpretation, such as experiences. A hermeneutic is also defined as a specific system or method for interpretation, or a specific theory of interpretation. However, the contemporary philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer has said that hermeneutics is an approach rather than a method and, further, that the Hermeneutic circle is the central problem of interpretation.
Essentially, hermeneutics involves cultivating the ability to understand things from somebody else's point of view, and to appreciate the cultural and social forces that may have influenced their outlook. Hermeneutics is the process of applying this understanding to interpreting the meaning of written texts and symbolic artifacts (such as art or sculpture or architecture), which may be either historic or contemporary.
The meaning of hermeneutics and its range, depend strongly on the precision of definitions of such terms as: interpretation, understanding, point of view, and the choice of its domain of interest/(domain of intervention). On the other hand, as in the case of other abstract terms, definitions depend on the consensus of their users, and can evolve with time.
Hermeneutics interest includes also recognition and explanation of parables, metaphors and insinuations."

re: #619 hermeneutics

Interesting to see someone skewer the left for being materialistic and "oil-based" in their thinking. Still pondering what you wrote.

They don't acknowledge they are being "oil-based," but if Gulf State-funded propaganda didn't keep the Palestinian issue primary, it would fade. It's money that pays for the propaganda and influence and grievance organizations that keep the Palestinian issue front and center in the mind of liberals. If it were all about principles, there are at least a dozen other current situations of far worse oppression or worse that would occupy the minds of people on the Left. Liberals are the worst of all kowtowers to Gulf State capitalists, because they don't even realize it. They don't understand that their anti-Israeli brainwashing is a result of oil money-funded propaganda.

Even the Eurabian bureaucrats in Brussels realize this and they just play the game knowingly. They are not dupes but short-sighted cynics who have just made a choice: oil and demographics over principles. Eurocrats have chosen to become uncritical clients of oil-rich states.

Real leftists, though, are real dupes. They don't realize that their view of who is oppressed and who is the oppressor is turned upside down by the constant propaganda funded by oil-rich states and the clients of oil-rich states.

If our schools bothered to teach this history, our society would be better prepared for dealing with what's happening now.

If you will excuse me, the problem is not a lack of historical understanding, the problem is a lack of understanding of the nature of man (and his history). Kids today are taught, and believe, that people are only violent or aggressive if someone has first oppressed (good God how I hate that word) them. The US is top dog, ergo, we are the oppressors.

The simple fact that man is an aggressive animal is verboten, is Nazi doctrine.

That is the root of all leftist doctrine.

Hattiesburg was founded in 1882 by Captain William H. Hardy, pioneer lumberman and civil engineer. Early settlers to the area were of Scottish, Irish, and English desent who came from Georgia and the Carolinas, attracted by the vast acreage of virgin pine timberlands. This was an area of rich promise at a time when renewed development of the South was getting under way.

The City of Hattiesburg was incorporated in 1884 with a population of approximately 400. Originally called Twin Forks and later Gordonville, Hardy gave the city its final name of Hattiesburg, in honor of his wife Hattie.

Hattiesburg is best known as the home of our very own, precious lizard, CONSERVGIRL!

I must say I have some sympathy for the Arabs inhabiting Palestine during Israel’s founding. They were an ignorant peasant population whose fears and ingrained anti-Semitism were used to manipulate them to meet the ambitions of Arab leaders such as Hajj Amin El Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sayyid Abdullah I, King of the British creation of Transjordan, Shukri al-Quwatli, president of Syria, King Farouk I of Egypt, and many more on down to the local level. Islam means submission, these poor fools did as the one radio in the village directed, word from on high, flee and we will kill the Jews and you can return with your land plus the Jewish settlements, (which were worth a hell of a lot more than their own poor villages). They are misused to this day but the knowledge is out there and the history of how they have been manipulated should be enough to make them think twice about today’s course. But they won’t and therefore I have no sympathy for today’s Palestinians.

When it gets sloganized, it becomes even more obviously capitalistic. Look at the Che Guavara. The dude would be totally forgotten if not for a few photos that represent iconic "revolutionary" poses that have been made into posters and transferred to T-shirts.

The same with the Kaffiyeh. It owes its existence as a lucrative niche clothing item in the West to, first, propaganda that made the Palestinian issue "cool" and, second, the willingness of capitalists to realize that there was a niche demand and produce a product.

So those who purchase these products are double duped: first by the propaganda that makes the symbol meaningful to lefties and then by the companies that turn the symbol into an profit-generating product.

At least conservatives are by and large more aware of and honest about how propaganda and the profit motive operate.

The Jews who live in Israel are not 'settlers' it is the arabs who are. There is no such thing as a 'palestinian', and they are actually Jordanians. None of their arab brothers want them back, yet tiny Israel is supposed to let them stay?

The arabs' right of return is to go back to Jordan.

Yes, but this is assuming they are without a mind of their own. There are a lot of people who have hard knocks and hard lives but don't make a thing of it. There are a lot of people who came from crappy backgrounds but don't obsess about it and make into an issue that taints their whole lives. Ultimately, you have to say, regardless of circumstances, an adult must be judged as an adult and on the basis of their own actions. Infantilizing the Palestinians, despite their being used as pawns in a larger Arab/Muslim geopolitical game, doesn't wash away their sins. They have chosen time and again to reject any compromise. They have chosen to terrorize and kill without restraint.

There are many groups of people as a whole, as well as individuals living in healthier societies, who have not made these choices. They are expected to behave as adults, and the few who behave as murderous children are put away as psychopathic criminals. Of any group of people in the whole world, only Palestinians are allowed to behave as knee-jerk rejectionists - or, worse, psychopaths - and have much of the rest of the world excuse these actions as the behavior of the poor and oppressed. Any other poor and oppressed person who behaved that way would get no free pass from anyone, not Western governments, the MSM or liberals. The Palestinians are in a league of their own when it comes to getting away with murder and having it white-washed.

What is this idiot trying to say?

There was a discrimination flap some time back in which some people of immigrant background called some rowdy folk "buffalo". It's a generic insult. They mean the Cape buffalo or the water buffalo, not the American bison.

A dumb, over-muscled, violent herbivore.

At the time of the trial, it was explained that the term is not a racial insult. It's just an insult.

"There was a discrimination flap some time back in which some people of immigrant background called some rowdy folk "buffalo". It's a generic insult."

Yes. The immigrant was from the Middle East or South Asia. The rowdies were African-Americans partying loudly outside her dorm window. She leaned out and shouted something like "Pipe down you water buffalo!" and the A-A's filed an anti-discrimination complaint--which just proved she was right about their lack of intelligence.

That being said, it's amusing that a Pakistani, a citizen of one of the most virulently bigoted and intolerant Muslim nations on Earth, would write "WE NEVER SAID ANYTHING AGAINST U". Is the guy consciously lying, or is he as dumb as the bugs in Men In Black?

One advice to Americans:

Can you teach some basics of English to all those people that hate you? It's kind of frustrating that they can't even write "I hate you" in correct English...

It's America fault, anyway.

Instead of bombs, perhaps you can send some dictionaries and some grammar manuals to them? Maybe they learn something.

Or send some Koran's... in a "corrected" version in English. Take out the killing part, the women abuse part, the child abuse part, the martyrdom part, the jihad part and send it to them. That should be a easy task, because a 300 page book (my estimative) would became a 2 page book...

Besides assassinating American military and civilians, they assassinate America's language.
