Jimmy Carter Hits Bottom, Digs

Tue, Apr 8, 2008 at 9:50:29 pm PDT

America’s worst president will now apparently meet with the leader of an openly genocidal Islamic terrorist gang: Report: Jimmy Carter to Meet With Hamas Leader in Syria.

NEW YORK CITY —  Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Carter was planning a trip to Syria for mid-April, during which he would meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, on April 18.

Deanna Congileo, Carter’s press secretary, confirmed in an e-mail to FOXNews.com that Carter will be in the Mideast in April. Pressed for comment, Congileo did not deny that the former president is considering visiting Meshal.

“President Carter is planning a trip to the Mideast next week; however, we are still confirming details of the trip and will issue a press release by the end of this week,” wrote Congileo. “I cannot confirm any specific meetings at this point in time.”

Meshal, who lives in Syria to avoid being arrested by the Israeli government, leads Hamas from his seat in Damascus, where he is a guest of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The proper thing for Carter to do is to go to Syria, meet with Hamas and endorse Obama all at the same time. The independents remember Jimmy well enough to stay away from anyone he would endorse.

At least I hope that independents are that smart.

When Barack says we need to meet and talk with Iran, Hillary wants to know the meaning of defeat, and Jimmy goes to Syria to meet with Hamas, I have to think a pattern is forming. Again, hopefully, not just those of us on the sane side of the aisle see things as clearly.

I think that Obama and Jimmy are very close politically. I would guess that the Clintons and Jimmy Carter are not buddies at all. Perhaps Jimmy can't truly come out and endorse Obama, but he no doubt wants him to be nominated.

35 Last Mohican  Tue, Apr 8, 2008 10:05:38pm

I will never forget the image of Carter's grinning face, on the day when the "Palestinians" elected Hamas, announcing that they had accomplished "a miracle." The picture is seared into my memory, like the image of the space shuttle Challenger blowing up.

We grow up our whole lives believing that genocidal massacres of Jews could never conceivably happen again. And then we see a recent president of the United States proclaiming his glee about the prospect of it happening again. That was nothing less than a life-changing moment for me.

But Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a non-profit advocacy group, said Carter's efforts demonstrate he's a true partner in peace.
“I think if true, this report would indicate that President Carter is willing to travel any road in search of peace,” he said. “I think President Carter would only undertake such a mission if he believed that something could be achieved in terms of peace and reconciliation in the region.”

He really is delusional.

Carter on Obama:

"Obama's campaign has been extraordinary and titillating for me and my family," Carter told the newspaper in an interview published in its Wednesday edition. According to the paper, Carter was particularly praiseworthy of the Illinois senator's rhetorical skills, comparing them to those of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Carter also said Obama "will be almost automatically a healing factor in the animosity now that exists, that relates to our country and its government."

Jimmy doesn't understand why they are nice to him: he is too stupid to see them for what they are and utter contempt they have for him.

And I have nothing but contempt for him for the same reason.

But please don't be surprised, nothing is beneath him. He is meeting with murderers who think the Lions and Rotary clubs are Zionist conspiracies, men who what murdered Americans and American Diplomats. He is meeting them by flying through an airport recently described as al Qaeda's major airhub- hosted by a brutal enemy regime that is ripping apart the democratic movement of Lebanon.

Jimmy meets with this scum because of the hatred in his heart, the malign ancient bigotry of those who worship those who kill Jews. Since no other explanation exists for his visit, it must be accorded the only reason he is there.

if you look at this situation, it really shows how carter's hatred of the Jews overwhelms any intellectual powers he may have had.

the islamists of iran ruined carter's presidency and prevented him from winning reelection. that alone should make any islamist movement, especially one controlled by iran his permanent enemy.

but while a normal person would feel that way, a Jew hater of the magnitude of jimmy fucking carter thinks nothing of cozying up to a group like hamas as long as their shared agenda of Jew hatred is intact.

he's an unspeakable piece of shit and the world will be a better place when he is dead.

Please read this. Someone had it in the spinoffs, and I wish I could remember who, to give them a hat tip.

Here are a few choice comments...but read it all. Shrill is a bitch.

[...][You] Jew bastard...[You] Jew motherf*cker.
Common insults that both Hillary and Bill Clinton used with each other and towards others who angered them, according to former bodyguard Larry Patterson (The State of A Union, p. 155).

“[You] motherf*cking Jew.”
Hillary to Bill (Bitter Legacy, p. 11). Hillary is a big supporter of the PLO, which pits her against Israel.

Now, keeping in mind all of the above quotes from Hillary’s foul mouth, I think it wonderfully appropriate to end her quotes with:

“I can’t think of any.”
Response to Dick Morris when asked to name some defects or weaknesses she could improve in order to soften her negative public image (Shadow, p. 335).

Oh yes, character does matter.

Speaking of character, Hill and Bill are a perfectly imperfect couple. They truly compliment each other. So with that in mind ...[...]

If this does not convince you? Try this, from Carl in Jerusalem.

At age 70, I can recognize a Jew hater rather too well, sadly.

158 mauisox  Tue, Apr 8, 2008 11:00:13pm

I am still trying to find the right historical comparison for Carter's post White House behavior. While Clement Valandingham wasn't doing exactly the same sorts of things, his impact was certainly against the best interests of the nation. Aaron Burr? Benedict Arnold? What other prominent American political figure has so routinely worked against American interests and so regularly embraced thugs who wish the Declaration and Constitution had never been written?

It is astounding that anyone ever thought this devious creature was suited for high office.

159 paybacktime  Tue, Apr 8, 2008 11:01:07pm

All I can think is that carter is still pissed off that he lost the election for his second term.

- The islamofascist regime of iran screwed him by invading the US Embassy and taking the hostages.
- The military rescue mission failed.
- The islamofascist regime of iran screwed up publicly by releasing the hostages after Reagan is sworn in.
- carter gets Begin and Sadat to shake hands and Israel returns Sinai and Sadat is assassinated by Muslims
- arab oil embargo
- DISCO MUSIC

carter blames Jooz and Israel for all the above.

carter is a sick, angry little man who wraps himself in self righteousness and religion and does every ting possible to knock the US that rejected him.

Why American Jews Tend to Be Liberal Democrats

It would probably be significant. Here's the problem as I see it: The Republican party is stuck in a rut of social conservatism that turn off Jewish voters. Jews can't be bothered to hate gays as much as the evangelical right. Many Jews live in urban environments where common sense gun control is common sense. Many Jews don't see abortion as the wholesale killing that evangelicals do. If Republicans really want to co-opt the Jewish vote they're going to have to give up on some common "conservative" fetishes.

Criminals love the fact, that in some large urban areas, nobody, but criminals, can own guns.

The only, and I strongly repeat ONLY gun control that doesn't completely infringe on all lawful gun owners, is that felons and severely mental people can't legally posess firearms, all other gun control is 100% infringement.

You will never stop criminals from owning guns. They get them any way they can. I've made mention here several times avout my sons "friend" Sam. Turns out he is a felon, convicted of arson. He was shot with his OWN gun in February. A second gun was in the trailer, a shot gun. It supposedly belonged to the only guy in the place without a conviction. Sam asked me to go to the cops and tell them the second gun was mine, and that I was selling it to the non convict guy. I politely refused. The day after he got out of the hospital, he was ranting about needing to get his hands on a gun ASAP.
I'm in the wrong here, no I did not give him one, but I didn't report him immediately to the cops. I learned after ward that he was a felon.

I will guess 55%.
In other words, I think he will be hit hard....compared to what your average Dem candidate would get. (Not hard enough, IMHO, but...)
Allowing for a very broad generalization here, Jewish voters tend to be better informed than the average gringo, and pick up on things others might let slide by. The MSM has concentrated (however briefly) on the anti-white and anti-American stuff. They've hardly mentioned, much less focused on, the anti-semitic factor. I think Jews will see it.
I can see Lieberman playing a role similar to the one Jacob Javits did when Carter sought re-election. Javits, a very liberal R, fought tooth and nail to turn the Dem vote from Carter to Reagan....not w/o some success, esp in Florida.

re: #178 Killgore Trout

See: Jewish Vote In Presidential Elections
They are always going to favour social liberals. I'd guess at least 70% go for Obama.

Thanks for the information!
Eisenhower didn't do too badly 36% and 40%.
Nor Reagan 40%, 31%. (The 31% is good, considering Carter was no longer in the loop.)
But as I said, the trend goes back to long before abortion & gay rights were on the agenda. I'd say its economic liberalism....soft socialism, the welfare state, so-called "social justice" reformism that is the attraction. The same thing that makes Episcopalians, Unitarians, etc. swoon.
But that 40% Reagan got vs. Carter tells me that there may be a (temporary)walk to the GOP if the Dem is perceived to be anti-semitic.
My guess probably is too optimistic. I hope yours is pessimistic!
I do remember how hard Javits worked for Reagan. Will there be anyone who can do that for McCain?

Try putting the link in the Web Site field just above the comments form. Post a comment and see if it works.

Even better, go to ManageYourAccount and put the link in the Home Page field (it's in Personal Information at the bottom.) That way, you won't have to paste the link every time you post.

#45:
If y'all want to pick on someone, why don't you pick on Obama for a CHANGE!

-----

I have been comparing Obama to Carter for months. Carter is the worst USA President of the 20th Century, and Obama is the closest we come to Carter.

Having said that, Carter has the record of actually implementing the worst policies of any President of the entire century. His profound ineptitude and moral relativist idiocy created the concept of The Reagan Democrat. And led to the reaffirmation of traditional ideas. Of course, there's no Reagan out there right now to pick up the slack after an Obama.

Also, Obama, at this point, is merely a candidate. I fear he would be another Carter. I see no reason to think he'd be WORSE than Carter. Is "worse than Carter" even possible?

218 guitardalek  Wed, Apr 9, 2008 12:04:09am

Oh man...I watched the General Petraeus testimony on late night C-Span reruns...

-It was almost enjoyable to watch the general argue with Kerry. Especially when JfknK made the assertion about the segregated Sunni ISF units, and Petraeus was like, "that is 100% not true." (I paraphrase.)

-Can Barbara Boxer say anything besides the glib soundbites spewed constantly by the anti-war crowd?

-Boxer claimed ALL our gains since 2003 are "fragile and reversible." That's not true--Saddam won't be gaining power again. And neither will al-Zarqawi.

-Boxer brought up the "red carpet for Ahmedinejad (only she kept mispronouncing it), midnight helo for Bush" canard, and Crocker was like, "That's because Ahmedinejad doesn't have to worry about being assassinated by Iranian-backed militants."

-Many of the Dems claimed that the two big regional problems, AQI and Iranian influence, were not problems before we invaded. So what? The situation changed. The status quo changed, of course there are going to be new challenges. It's easy to nitpick and over look the many things that are not problems anymore (e.g. Saddam for sure isn't making WMDs any more. Cuz he's dead)

-General Petraeus is my hero.

Agreed. Jews are socially liberal and always have been. Jews are also notorious entrepreneurs/businessmen but they couldn't give a fuck if gays are allowed to marry. Want to attract the Jewish vote? Provide a socially liberal but fiscally conservative candidate (eg. Giuliani). It's very simple.

Granted that we are both generalizing, I disagree with your suggestion that "the Jewish vote" is economically conservative. How often did Milton Friedman lament that the opposite is true!
There is, of course a significant minority of economically conservative Jews; but there is also a (slowly growing) minority that tend toward social conservatism.

And we're getting there pretty quickly. Here in Vermont we lose farms on a near-daily basis, sometimes faster than that. The move to re-evaluate property using current sales figures has put many farmers in a position of owning multi-zillion dollar properties that they cannot hope to pay taxes on - property that has often been in their families since before the Revolution.

Ah . . . . . . . I guess I am the world's meanest mother. I made mine major in slinging hash at McDonald's until they gained a true appreciation for the cost and value of higher education. (I did allow one to go off to an Ivy on a full-boat scholarship at 16. That was a mistake on both of our parts.)

Perfect for MNT. She's basically "a creative", but having done the process bass-ackwards myself (liberal arts degree in art and then an MBA) I like the fact that she's getting the business upfront (a degree that she can actually use to get a job). Plus this school has other majors that she's interested in, just in case she changes her mind.

In any case, she's happy, and I'm thrilled that she has a direction.

She is working 25-30 hours/week at TJMaxx while going to school full time at community college right now. It's a horrible job that she likes. (Go figure.) This summer she'll be working two jobs.

Yup. That is just what mine have all done and it has not hurt them a single bit. They gained good experience, most of them eventually found jobs where the employer would do some reimbursing of college costs and they walked out of college able to command quite a bit more $$$.

(#3 is begining to be considered. The other two, forget about it)

Miguel, those student loans are a farce. Because they are available, virtually all colleges have raised the cost of attendance until it approaches the purchase price of a decent house, even for majors like Psychology where you will make barely above minimum wage until you reach the PhD level.

The bureaucracy associated with processing & repaying them makes the IRS & the US Congress seem the epitome of organization and I do not know a single soul - not even one - who has not ended up listed as being in default on their loans, even when they weren't. An extremely common scenario is that nobody every contacts the student at graduation to make payment arrangements (for many of the student loans you pay nothing until you graduate), nobody ever says to the student "You need to call these people" so the student ends up in default before they are even aware that the first payment is due.

Sure they make it possible for kids who might not otherwise have a chance to go to college to go, but in all too many cases what those student loans mean is that instead of working a lower paid job for a bit, they will work the same lower paid job for a bit and pay out a pretty darned good chunk of the pittance to pay for those student loans.

God forbid. The world is still reeling from the horrible things that came into being under Carter's watch, beginning with the fundamentalist Islamic state of Iran. Someone, perhaps Charles Krauthammer, penned an excellent column about a year ago illustrating all of the horrible things in the world which trace their roots to the Carter administration....

Ed Koch, in his 1983(?) memoir Mayor, documented Carter's animosity towards the Jooooos way back in the late 70s.

Jay Rockefeller questioned McCain's "humanity" for aerial bombing in Viet Nam. He pretty much implied that McCain was a coward for being out of the area when the bombs hit.
I wonder if the Senator thinks that McCain redeemed himself, you know being tortured and all for five years.

Why do I think Iran won...beats me..........

When asked if Americans were in a "proxy war" with Iran, Ryan Crocker said, "It may be that the Iranians see it in that light, we certainly do not."

But he also added that "we don't want to have just what you describe as a proxy war with Iran inside Iraq, and that is why we are willing to sit down with Iran face to face for talks on Iraqi security at the invitation of the Iraqi government. We've had three rounds of those talks and we've told them we are ready to again."

Why he gets invited to everything..

.Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been invited to China to take part in the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games 2008, it was announced here on Wednesday.

Iran's National Olympic Committee Chairman, Reza Qarakhanlu, told IRNA that the Chinese officials have invited the Iranian president to attend the Olympic inaugural ceremony due to start from August 8.

The Presidential Office has been informed of the invitation, he said, adding that the president's final decision has not yet been announced.

As to boycott of the games by several western countries, he said certain countries are trying to take political advantage from the Olympic games.

On Iran's participation in the games, Qarakhanlu said the Iranian athletes will take part in nine fields in the Beijing Olympic games.

Jimmy Carter, in the past, had offered his services to Arafat, as a political adviser, and also to help him in his speech-making to the West. The result was that he West (including America) was fooled into thinking that Arafat wanted peace. There was a great ceremony in the Rose Garden at the White House. But the result was not peace; the result was that Arafat was preparing for the next intifada. And the next intifada was a terrorist intifada that made the previous intifada pale in comparison.

So it seems to me possible that Jimmy Carter is going to Hamas to offer his services, just as he did with Arafat. He will be Hamas' advisor, in order to better fool the West, and especially America.

The problem is with the Iranian strategy of backing extremist militia groups and sending in weapons and munitions that are used against Iraqis and against our own forces.

Jimmi Carter lied about his college transcript and grades in his book "Why not the best".

Carter was a very mediocre student at best, but claimed he was this very bright person. His junior college grades are in the Nation Archives. Thay can be ordered and compared to what he wrote in the book.

Also he did not get into Annapolis early. They made him take special remedial classes and even that was after strings were pulled and a war was going on, so virtually anyone got in.

Jimmi was never promoted and left the Navy with a very low rank, I think Lieutenant.

More dead Children to aid the cause of Islam..

....BAGHDAD (AP) - Seven people died in Baghdad's Sadr City as clashes between security forces and Shiite militiamen continued in the capital on Wednesday, the fifth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad.
The city's Green Zone, which houses diplomatic missions and much of Iraq's government, also came under renewed attack by rockets or mortars early Wednesday. The U.S. embassy confirmed the shelling, but said there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The bloodshed served as stark reminders of Iraq's continuing instability five years after U.S. troops swept into Baghdad and toppled Saddam Hussein's regime on April 9, 2003. The euphoria of victory soon dissipated—pummeled first by a Sunni insurgency, then Sunni-Shiite slaughter and now battles against Shiite militiamen.

Police said the seven victims in Sadr City—including three children—died when projectiles slammed into a house in the sprawling slum, a stronghold of the Mahdi Army militia of anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Twenty-seven other people were wounded, said a hospital official who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Christian Group sues Google

A Christian group is suing Google over the internet giant's refusal to take its anti-abortion adverts.

The Christian Institute, a "non-denominational Christian charity", wanted to pay Google so that whenever the word "abortion" was typed into the popular search engine, its link would appear on the side of the screen.

The link would have read: "UK abortion law - news and views on abortion from the Christian Institute. [Link: www.christian.org.uk."...]

But Google refused the advert because it said it had a policy of declining sites which mixed the issue of abortion with religious views.

Damascus, 9 April (AKI) - Syrian president Bashar al-Assad's brother-in-law has reportedly been arrested for aiding a possible US-backed coup against the Syrian regime, according to reports in various internet sites and newspapers of the Syrian opposition on Tuesday.
Al-Assad then sacked his brother-in-law, Assif Shawqat (photo), from his post as military intelligence chief, while the Syrian regime tried to keep media officials from confirming or denying the arrest, according to Arab satellite TV network Al-Arabiya.

According to the report, before his assasination, the leader in Lebanon's militant Shia group Hezbollah, Imad Mughniyeh, told al-Assad about Shawqat's betrayal, having taken advantage of his position as head of intelligence.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday called for a "diplomatic surge" including talks with US foe Iran, to help stabilize the situation in Iraq.
The Illinois Senator battling Hillary Clinton for his party's nomination called for more pressure on the Iraqi government to embrace political reconciliation and a regional "diplomatic surge that includes Iran."

"We should be talking to them as well," Obama told the top US General in Iraq David Petraeus and US ambassador to Baghdad Ryan Crocker.

"I do not believe we are going to be able to stabilize the situation without that" said Obama, adding that a plan for US troop withdrawals was needed to force Iraqi factions to work together.

"I think that increased pressure in a measured way, in my mind, and this is where we disagree, includes a timetable for withdrawal. Nobody is asking for a precipitous withdrawal."

Obama has taken fire from his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and Republican presumptive nominee John McCain for his offer to talk, if elected president, with the leaders of several US foes including Iran

My point is that if we allow any religious group to use the weight of the law to force a private enterprise to accept advertising, then we've blown the First Amendment to shreds, on both the "freedom from" clause and the free speech clause.

Has anyone started one begging the US government to prosecute Jimmy Carter for treason yet?

Has anyone started an internet petition yet that ever actually worked? In any case, it's not the Islamic boycotts so much as the Islamic bombs that have the Euroweenies petrified. So if we boycott and the ROPers bomb, guess who the Dutch will cave into?

Dr. Aaidh al-Qarni

Since we have not been able to resolve the centuries-old dispute between the Sunnis and the Shias, we have to admit that the dispute exists and that it is our duty not to transform it into a bloody conflict.

The Community of Islam has suffered enough wounds, painful divisions, and calamities. World Zionism is lying in wait for us and scheming to uproot us. What is the use of resurrecting insults, vituperation, defamation, and instigation? What is the use of arousing animosities and highlighting the faults and defects of the two sects? What is hoped to be achieved from shedding the blood or a Sunni or a Shia? Both the Sunni and Shiite sects believe that their sect is the correct one and that the other is false.

Today, unlike yesterday, America and Israel cannot afford a president whose support of Israel is not complete and absolute. We cannot afford a president who thinks that chatting with governments whose official media spews the most absurd and despicable lies about America and Israel is a serious exercise in diplomacy. We must, instead, have a president certain that America and Israel are the good guys and that the triumphant of these nations - with as little violence as possible - is the only sure answer to peace. Is Obama this sort of president? Nothing suggests he is and everything suggests he is not

Do I write Christian lyrics?

Not really, I had a very bad experience with Christian music back in the 80's (long story I dont have time to go into right now), and it drove me away from Christian music. Now I write what I write. IWU gets grant to study why students make risky sexual decisions

BLOOMINGTON -- Sex on college campuses is nothing new, but an Illinois Wesleyan University professor wants to use the latest technology to find out why students make risky sexual decisions.

The federal government is so interested that it gave IWU researcher Natalie Smoak and a colleague at the University of Connecticut a $1.2 million grant. They will use virtual-reality technology to study how and why people make decisions that could lead to sexually transmitted diseases, including the human immunodeficiency virus.

A $1.2 million dollar grant to figure out why college kids make dumb decisions trying to get laid?

Simple.

Take raging hormones, add limited adult supervision, very shakey judgment, mix in booze and other substances and presto, that's what you get.

The rich people probably leave the country for any medical treatment. This leaves whatever sort of care there is for their slaves(they call them domestic help but we know better) if they allow them to get treatment.

A $1.2 million dollar grant to figure out why college kids make dumb decisions trying to get laid?

Simple.

Take raging hormones, add limited adult supervision, very shakey judgment, mix in booze and other substances and presto, that's what you get.

When will you submit your bill? Let us know 'cause the booze is on you once you get laid.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. I see that Carter is once again engaging in his own brand of psuedodiplomacy, and will lend legitimacy to international terrorists, all under the banner of "peace."

Yet, someone has to ask why the State Department and President Bush signed off on allowing Carter to make the trip. He's visiting international terrorists in a country that is a state sponsor of terrorism. Alarm bells should have been going off, and yet he's going nonetheless.

A veterinarian does not need to be the same sex/species as the "animals" he treats. Remember, we're thinking (if that word can even be applied) like fundie ROPers here.

So, San Francisco will be home to quite a treat today as the Olympic torch relay winds through the city. However, I think I found the quote of the day - courtesy of the New York Times:

Downtown buildings also stepped up security, and restaurants along the route pulled in — rather than pulled out — patio seating. Sources of anxiety were everywhere: protests atop tourist attractions, famous and not-so-famous Tibet supporters and, of course, the city’s lunatic fringe.

The lunatic fringe.

Thank you New York Times for identifying the local political scene, which includes Mayor Newsom, congressional leaders like Nancy Pelosi and all those who bend to the whim of the far left that is indeed the lunatic fringe that comprises much of San Francisco's polity.

It is - though apparently they have much cooler stuff!

I'm kind of on the fence.

On one hand, you have my hatred of Communism, due to the oppression and suffering it promotes.

On the other hand... hippies have screamed 'Free TIbet!" for decades because they love the idea of sitting up in the mountains smoking pot and wondering if trees dream, like tibetian monks.

I do hate siding with hippies. I think this became a bad PR move for China when they arrested and shot monks and nuns.

You just don't recover from that.

Hey Ben! Ya know I hate to say this, but the Donk's have a point here - at least let the Iraqi's reimburse us for the cost of re-building their infrastructure and some military costs for supplies we currently give them.
I don't see anything wrong with that myself.

Neither do I.

Just pointing out Dem psychosis.

No, you're not part of the lunatic fringe, you're part of the group specifically mentioned and highlighted below:

Downtown buildings also stepped up security, and restaurants along the route pulled in — rather than pulled out — patio seating. Sources of anxiety were everywhere: protests atop tourist attractions, famous and not-so-famous Tibet supporters and, of course, the city’s lunatic fringe.

The lunatic fringe is a class all to themselves.

re: #859 LanceKates

Agree that the "Free Tibet" movement is FULL of whackos. I don't think they would even know what to do with themselves if Tibet became 'free'. AND, those protesters usually know F all about any history, or care about other deeply oppressed people. I like that China looks like shit, I like the exposure of their corruption. Like you-I'm not normally on the side of the protesting people...however, in this case-they have identified a truly reprehensible beast.

I like going to Carl's blog for most of the stories he posts, as he is prone to give a first-hand, on the ground view and point out things that are not readily apparent to a US reader from his primary sources. Which he always documents so that I can also go see those.

I'm always for freedom, tempered with responsibility.

Hippies want freedom to have sex and do drugs and get free money.

That's not freedom, that's a life that animals in the zoo get.

That's apathetic slavery.

If Tibet became free, the neo-hippies would go there to smoke dope like the Beatles did.

Two Israelis killed as terrorists infiltrate Nahal Oz

Two Israelis were killed when at least four Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the Nahal Oz fuel terminal from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

The two were employed at the terminal, which supplies the Gaza Strip with most of its fuel.
IDF troops and emergency medical teams, who arrived on the scene, came under heavy gun and mortar fire. (emphasis added)

Shut down the station at once.

When the petro-dollar whorehouse known as the global media starts to complain about the poor freezing Paleos being unable to cook their pitiful UN rations, shut off the power to the luxury suites occupied by the media's local pimps (aka "reporters").

I agree with you. I think it's cool if people have their blog linked by their nic, or if they give a little plug to their blog inside a post. I really, really hate when people post their own blog as a spinoff link, with the actual news embedded. I like to see the original source. If I like your stuff, I'll click on the blog and become a regular visitor. I think it's an unfair way for people to increase their own personal blog clicks.

No you don't understand
I don't want them here, I intend to deprive them of this year's gimpy if need be.

One came within eyeball distance of me one day in the fall, about 60 yards away, and sat down, almost friendly, certainly curious.

I greeted him and told him the next time I see him on my property,
he dies.

He seemed to understand this, LOL.
I have not seen him or any of them since.
But I hear them.

Well, it's got a bit more a pedigree on the "spiritual" side. If people want to sit up in the mountains and meditate, hey, that's their bag. I'm just surprised at the mostly-unquestioned assumption that the DL is the official spokesman of all Tibetans.

899 mama winger  Wed, Apr 9, 2008 7:15:42am
