Now, if they could just get people to consent to a "bee search." I imagine that, in the presense of a swarm of bees, quite a few people would get "suspiciously uncomfortable."

"Giggle factor" - a good phrase to know, assuming there isn't a better one.

Its opposite is presumably the "Hey-that's-cool!" factor, which is where I place my allegiance as far as that article goes. :)
