-RetweetThe Duisenberg Sickness

Wed, Jan 8, 2003 at 7:35:55 pm PST

The wife of European Central Bank President Wim Duisenberg is a hellish Jew-hating harpy. And her husband—the most powerful money man in Europe—fully supports her.

In a one-page letter released Wednesday, Europe's top banker broke his silence to react to allegations by Dutch Foreign Minister Jaap de Hoop Scheffer that Gretta Duisenberg was misusing her diplomatic passport while on a trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

"As my (ECB) position requires, I had stayed out of my wife's affairs," Duisenberg wrote de Hoop Scheffer. "But I can tell you I support her 100 percent."

"My wife got her diplomatic passport in 1987, the year we were married, in relation to my position as the president of the Dutch Central Bank, and not, as suggested, as part of my job as the ECB president."

But what exactly does a diplomatic passport mean? Is it a free pass to anywhere?

Anyone who could smile and shake hands with that bloody terrorist cretin is either invincibly ignorant or willfully malevolent. What a damning picture!

I vote for "wilfully malevolent." A half-woman.

Basically allows you to use the diplomatic express channel at customs, and carry diplomatic pouches which are not subject to customs inspection. Theres other stuff too but I'm not sure if it applies to the passport directly

Unfortunately, even among the Dutch there are a few very bad apples... despite the fact that they have been historically very much pro-Jewish, and many Ajax fans bring Israeli flags to the games. Again, sadly, not the same thing can be said about the Dutch government...

9 Jheka  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 5:59:34pm

A couple's category! Excellent!! Finally, something that Bill and Hillary can do together (do they still count as a couple?).

10 Doc  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 6:00:44pm

I'm confused. I thought we Jews controlled all the banks.

Actually, this is off-topic, but the Fiskie was such a tremendous success that I suggest it be expanded (within reason; we don't want to dilute the "honor" of egtting one) to various categories (e.g. government, artist, web site, etc.). Thoughts?

13 Lurker  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 6:16:08pm

That diplomatic passport will be useless in a few years, since she won't be allowed to travel outside the country without her husband, or his permission and an excort of relatives.

No need to buy a Ryder truck full of LGF T-shirts -- the edit feature is already there! It's called "preview," and it's that little button right next to "post this comment." Remember: the preview button is your friend!

You're correct, of course. My brain isn't working. However, I'm a little surprised that you didn't take me up on my offer. Now what will I do with this Ryder truck? I wonder if Doug Marlette has any thoughts.

19 Johan Wehtje  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 6:28:51pm

Much of what passes for European Foreign Policy is an object lesson in how the road to ehll is paved with good intentions. Tony Blair's speech yesterday contained a wonderful passage (quoted at Andrew Sullivan)

But the price of influence is that we do not leave the US to face the tricky issues alone. By tricky, I mean the ones which people wish weren't there, don't want to deal with and, if I can put it a little perjoratively, know the US should confront, but want the luxury of criticising them for it.

Allthough this comment was made in respect of Iraq it has some relvance here. It sometimes seems that European foreign policies primary purpose is as a form of moral therapy for those involved. Although europlats regularly complain about their lack of influence in a unilateral world they seem to act as if they have accepted this as being true so that their own actions don't in fact have any consequences leaving them free to indulge in the theater of Good Intentions, of which (the good intentions) they believe they have some sort of Monopoly.
Unfourtunatley Europe is not quite as irrelavant as it seems to think, it is a huge trading block and it's unc-ordinated and often silly foreign policy often does have very real and very mischevious consequences. The whole sorry history of the Balkans illustrates this, a story that reached it's nadir during the Kosovo air campaign where literally thousands died due to the constarints imposed on the campaign by shaky Euro-weasals.
The European influence on the Palestinians is in some ways even more malign than Sadaam Husseins, who is at least honest in openly backing terrorism whilst the Europeans tut tut whilst shoveling money and legitimacy at the PA.

20 me2  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 6:32:16pm

Like so many Pali supporters, this one is really just anti-Jewish. At least that's how it looks in this ADL article:

New York, N.Y., May 30, 2002 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today called comments made by the wife of the president of the European Central Bank (ECB) which blamed “rich Jews” and the “rich American Jewish lobby” as the cause of the “deplorable conditions” in which the Palestinians live, “outrageous and a throwback to long-time anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.” The League requested that ECB President Willem Duisenberg publicly reject these comments

From An article titled "Iraq Will Triumph, by Allah's Will" by Hamas spokesman Dr. Abd Al-Aziz Al-Rantisi, was posted on the Hamas movement's website.

"The battle in Iraq, like the battle in Palestine, is the battle of the [Islamic] nation. The nation must carry out its mission and utilize its capabilities to help Iraq. And I say to anyone subdued by reality: 'Iraq will win, by Allah's will.'"

That's right kiddies, don't be subdued by the "evils" of reality.

Great quotes from angry little psycho freak:
---

The goal of Hamas is a fixed one. It is based on Islam, and Islam clearly orders us to liberate our land. So the goals of Hamas are unchangeable.

I feel that it is justice for us to [do] with the Jews as they did to us. . . in the same way that they dispossessed our people. They killed thousands of Palestinians in tens of massacres and they destroyed homes. So I think it is just to do with them as they did to us.

-Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi
---

These comments were made in 1997 before stupidfada took off.

Will somebody take this guy out already ?!?

It's photos like this that wrongly persuade the Palis that the EU small sausages actually give a damn about them. Note to Palis: when it comes to the EU-niks, it really is "all about the J-E-W-S." They don't love you, they just hate the Jews more.

Spot on! The only thing I would add, is that the same applies to EVERYONE else you Palis think is on your side! Nobody loves you - even your own damn leaders are just using you for the billions in free money. The other Arab leaders? - they not only don't love you, they despise you.

There's no such thing as a Palestinian supporter, only an anti-Jewish or anti-Israel detractor, otherwise the UNRWA would have been a thing of the past long ago.

40 Jono  Wed, Jan 8, 2003 8:20:08pm

I can't believe terrorists like Rantisi are allowed to have free reign and talk to the cameras.

This isn't Afghanistan, they don't have caves to hide in !

Is the IDF waiting for them to turn themselves in to the nearest prison ?

I suggest Operation Weed Removal.

The IDF should search through each neighborhood and refugee camp until at least 90% of the scumbags are captured. Move in fast with tanks at night and find them ! Use infra-red sensors and every piece of technology and intelligence available.

Go after the top 50 on the most wanted list !

Get every bomb maker and gun smuggler. Arrest anybody who has made inflammatory comments, whether it be on PA controlled TV, or in a mosque.

Doc (#10), yes, I think you may, in fact, be somewhat confused about the nuances of the Jewish world-wide conspiracy to control everything: of course they control the banks, it's just that they use non-Jew proxies and puppets as front-persons to give the impression that they do not. And then having such persons shaking the hands of well known Jew haters? What can I say: pure brilliance!

Actually #39, there is such a thing as a palestinian supporter.

Before the stupidfada, Israel and America did more than any other country to help the palestinians (not the palesitnian terrorists or lying negotiators though).

By working towards a peace agreement and offering them vast rewards for abandoning terrorism, Israel has done more than anybody, including palesitnian leadership, to improve their standard of living.

Meanwhile, Iraq is promoting the culture of death by funding the families of homicide bombers. Geez thats really gonna help their society.

Of course nowadays they aren't going to get any more sympathy from either Israel or America. They really blew their chance. They had friends who were negotiating for a better life without violence and were going to do an incredible amount of work to improve their lives if only they would agree to live in peace.

It is biting the hand that feeds you.. and it will take a very long time before the hand tries to feed you again.

I am Dutch and thoroughly disgusted by this stupid woman.

Actually, I don't think she is evil, just a stupid lefty who does not have a clue about the whole ME situation.

This kind of pro-Palestinian stance is a leftover of the ultraleft 1970's, when the Netherlands were close to self distructing the country for the socialist cause.

Luckily, a lot has changed since, but not this woman. She has totally missed why the 2000 accord was dismissed by Arafat and what happened since.

What appals me is that her husband has the misguided stupidity to publicly support her. It is good he will leave the ECB this year, someone who does not understand the duties of this post to this extent does not deserve it in the first place.

Rest assured, though, that this is in no way official Dutch policy, just the misguided liberalism of a whacko lefty.

I apologize on behalf of the thinking part of the Netherlands.

The Peace Encyclopedia: The Stockholm Syndrome

Long term captivity builds even stronger attachment to the captor as he becomes known as a human being with his own problems and aspirations. Particularly in political or ideological situations, longer captivity also
allows the captive to become familiar with the captor's point of view and the history of his grievances against authority. He may come to believe that the captor's position is just.

The captive seeks to distance himself emotionally from the situation by denial that it is actually taking place. He fancies that "it is all a dream", or looses himself in excessive periods of sleep, or in delusions of being magically rescued. He may try to forget the situation by engaging in useless but time consuming "busy work". Depending on his degree of identification with the captor he may deny that the captor is at fault, holding that the would-be rescuers and their insistence on punishing the captor are really to blame for his situation.

Hint to Yasser - she's not one of the 72 virgins.

Gretta Duisenberg is no different from Hitler and all the others before and after who have an inbred hatred of the Jews. When the last Jew is dead, then she would cry and still blame the Jews. I am sure Mrs Duisenberg prays, once in a while. Maybe it is to Jesus, who by the way was a Jew, and he died a Jew. But in reality you cannot pray to God and hate the Jews. Then this God they pray to, is not God.

I thank God everyday that Israel exists, that Israel has two or three hundred nuclear bombs (maybe more.) I will not die like my brothers in the hands of the beast. I will fight back, and destroy more of them than them of me. The Palistinian Beast will only be happy when the last Jew is dead and gone. That will never happen. So, Mrs. Jew Hater Duisenberg and your husband, Mr. Jew Hater Duisenberg, anything which hurts you, makes me happy. In future every Jew who dies at the hands of terrorist arabs, that blood will be on your hands for ever more. And this is just a small taste of what is in store for the world, Islam will never sleep until the last Jew and Christian, Budhist and Hindu are gone forever and people like the Duisenberg's are only too willing to accomodate their blood lust. I am proud to support freedom for all mankind and especially for those Jews in Israel now fighting for their very lives.

 Frank says:

You can tell what they think of our music by the places we are forced to play it in. This looks like a good spot for a livestock show. -- The Mothers of Invention were opening for Cream in April of 1968 in Chicago. The place was very large and did look like it had been used for displays of cattle and other such animals.
