Bogus Abuse Complaints Soar

Mon, Jul 21, 2003 at 2:39:07 pm PDT

CAIR may be screaming and whining about “soaring” discrimination against Muslims in America, but the Justice Department, after investigating more than 1,000 complaints, found exactly 34 that were credible.

WASHINGTON - Justice Department investigators found that 34 claims were credible of more than 1,000 civil rights and civil liberties complaints stemming from anti-terrorism efforts, including allegations of intimidation and false arrest.

According to a report Monday, Glenn A. Fine, the Justice Department's inspector general, looked into allegations made between Dec. 16, 2002, and June 15 under oversight provisions of the USA Patriot Act. Many complaints were from Muslims or people of Arab descent who claimed they were beaten or verbally abused while being detained.

Can't these people be arrested for wasting police/DoJ time?

RE my #1

that's just a guess, I'm just saying that muslim harassment is virtually non-existent compared to what it would be elsewhere, if an identifiable group killed 3,000+ civilians.

Whining bastards. "oh, the man was whooo-oood to me! I'm calling my woywer."

Yikes! Such vile thoughts from a site that many on the Internet used to respect but now fear has grown sadly anti-Muslim and filled with mindless harrassment and...

/VFI_Mode OFF

seriously, 34 of a thousand? What's that ratio work out to?

Any comment from CAIR about the mindless violence against Jews?

Bueller? Bueller?

8 wordwarp  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 12:58:56pm

Let's see, 34 legitimate complaints for 3,000,000 muslims. That's over 1 out of every 100,000 muslims who've been hassled! Quelle Tragedie!

Note: on 9/11, over 3000 "legitimate" claims of "harrassment" of non-muslims by muslims occurred....

The Arabs who have just arrived are behaving no differently from their media and leaders back home.

If you grow up in a country where 'streching the truth' is applauded and gets the attention of the West, why not try it here? Our media is just primed to believe we're a bunch of racist animals attacking poor, peace-loving Arabs and Mulsims.

I recall reading a piece in MEMRI about an Imam who was in NY during 9/11. When he returned home he was telling the media all sorts of outrageous stuff. He said mobs of Americans were attacking anyone who looked Arab, rippping veils off women, and stoning mosques. I can't recall if he mentioned any Arab deaths due to the "US Mob', but I wouldn't doubt it.

13 Glen Wishard  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 1:20:20pm

Here's a good article by Robert Bork in Commentary, about the police state we supposedly live in now (especially those of us who were already getting pestered by witches and space aliens) - Civil Liberties After 9/11.

14 Mr Pol  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 1:23:15pm

Only 34 Muslims harassed since 9/11. For the Arabs, that's another proof of American weakness.

Americans stoning mosques? That is hilarious. With our technology, we are throwing stones. Only as many as my camel can carry, he is very sickly.

16 :(  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 1:25:31pm

OT, but my girlfriend has just revealed that she is an old-fashioned Jew-hater. I already knew that she supported the "Palestinians" but I let that pass. She revealed tonight that she believed that the Jews did not turn up for work at the World Trade Centre on 9/11. Her reason for this was that she had seen this reported many times in the media. She also said that she believed that the media was controlled by the Jews. I put it to her that if the Jews did indeed control the media then they would hardly have reported that the Jews of the WTC did not turn up that day to work. She didn't seem to agree with that simple logic.

I thought I was going to end up having children with this woman but as of now she is my ex-girlfriend and I don't think she'll be able to change. If, at the age of 27, she can't work things out, I don't think she ever will. I'm pretty gutted about having to break up with her, but if there are two thinks I hate, they are people who insist on being wrong and people who hate Jews.

The funny thing is, she is a medical doctor (paediatrician) and it just goes to show that to become a doctor you don't need brains, just an ability to work hard. Or maybe it's just something about paediatricians.....

Hey I can look on the bright side though. I was going to propose next month and I just saved a shitload on a diamond ring. I'm going to give a hundred pounds to sosfund instead :)

17 Tawaki Penguin  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 1:26:18pm

Hey Mr. Bork! If things were as bad as you want to think they are, you would be in the slammer already! So cheer up! Wake up and smell the coffee(and the air that's less stifling than you want to think).

31 Zev Sero  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 1:46:59pm

At least some of those complaints were from non-Moslems, including Jews, who were arrested in the frenzy of 11-Sep-01, and viciously abused by the stormtroopers at the detention centres, who, I guess, needed to take out their frustration on *someone*.

I have seen the deposition of an Israeli citizen who was arrested on 11-Sep-01 as a suspected terrorist (based on not much in the way of reasonable suspicion, let alone probable cause), and then held as an illegal immigrant (which he was). If what he says is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, there are some sadistic bastards employed in those INS lockups, and I'd be surprised if only 34 out of 1000 complaints were substantiated. Among other things, knowing full well that he was a Jew, they put him in a cell full of Moslems, ignoring his desperate pleas that he would be in danger.

Good thing you found out before you had kids together.

Sorry to hear about it. You have my sympathies. Although she is brainwashed and someone you'd ultimately not want to be with, a break up still hurts.

I fail to understand the logic people use who believe 'Jews Control Everything', yet don't ask why if Jews control everything there are still "Palestinians" blowing them up in Israel?!?

Or, if Jews controlled all the media, why do we read the stories that portray the "Palestinians" as martyrs and the Israelis as jack-booted thugs.

If the Jews really controlled everything, why the heck isn't life better for them in Israel? People are getting blown up over there. (In addition to the rise of virulent Anti-Semitism in various places worldwide.)

Some control!!

OT:

Me, and an Israeli woman, as well as another Swedish man were all banned from the Indymedia Sweden site. You know that racist Nazi garbage site.

We were actually trying to lead a civilized debate on some threads, and other readers actually enjoyed talking a bit more seriously, with facts for a change.

Now, they've got an Arab "moderator", named Zorro, who continually erased our comments. It didn't make any difference what we wrote. We tried to write sympathetic things about one of their rows against a Swedish Nazi organisation, but still, our posts were erased by that swine Zorro.

And he didn't shy from writing posts calling us "Zionist fascist pigs", Zionazis" and the like, so it was no question about him wanting to actually "moderate" the debate there. He was just another Arab Nazi scared of Swedes perhaps getting a more fair view on the issues we discussed. But Zorro continued to "warn" readers of our "Zionist garbage", and then erased us.

So here's my question:

- Do you know if there's any way of getting around the ban?

I've got an ADSL connection.

Or are they actually banning everyone connected to my ISP and those of my fellow posters?

Thank you very much for any tip.

My wife is Jewish and has friends that think like your ex. They argued like hell about it and after months of silence, they recanted to a less offensive neutral position. One might say they were neutered. Now they agree to disagree on minor issues. Personally, I don't get it. I cannot stand the idea that they think this way. They are anti-capitalist too, which is hilarious considering the way they live and the money they have. Ever notice the similarity in the antisemitic and anti-capitalist sloganeering?

OK, so I'm a bit late on this one, but I skimmed the article you linked to (I didn't have the patience to sit and read through all that crap) and the thought occurs to me: why would the government want to spy into my most private life anyway? Pardon my naiveté, but I honestly can't imagine that there's anything that most people might be doing that would cause the govt. to pry into the private lives of citizens, other than breaking laws.

60 Laura  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 3:44:33pm

What a shock. I would have *never* guessed that people will lie if they think they can gain from it. Nor would I ever have guessed that the American media would bend over backwards (or forwards, for that matter) to allow allegedly oppressed Muslims to gain by lying. No, never.

Afterall, Jews have Special Rights(tm) and are Evil Capitialist Oppressors(tm) and Muslims are Oppressed Brown People(tm) in touch with the Earth Spirit(tm) who just want to practice their Religion Of Peace(tm). I'm sure anti-Muslim sentiment is much higher than anti-Jew sentiment. *snort*

I actually started scanning the list, looking for stereotypically Jewish names, but didn't get very far before I remembered that my father changed his name back in the thirties because he couldn't find work in his field with one.

The presumption that every Jew who worked at the WTC is part of a conspiracy, or even would keep quiet if they had received a vague tip to stay home is incredible.

By the way, as someone who has done simple structural design and hot forming of steel, I can tell you that the claim that burning jet fuel doesn't get hot enough to bring down the towers is caca de vaca. Steel starts loosing strength around 900 degrees F, and is fully flexible around 1850 depending on the alloy. It didn't have to get hot enough to melt; there didn't have to be hidden demolition charges for the buildings to come down as they did.

62 heretic  Mon, Jul 21, 2003 4:10:11pm

Following are some examples of CAIR's complaints from a press release by Andrew Whitehead, who has formed an anti-CAIR organization:

CAIR then goes on to provide several examples of bias against Muslims:

“12/16/2001 Rabih Haddad, board member of Global Relief Foundation, a Muslim charity being investigated by the government, is held and threatened with deportation for overstaying his visa. In the early days of his detention he was treated like a criminal and held in solitary confinement. The man has no criminal record and no charges were ever filed against him.”

A person overstays their visa, a criminal act, and CAIR complains that he “was treated like a criminal?” What did they expect him to be treated as?

Next:

“1/8/2001 A family who is moving to New York from Florida is facing problems with finding a place to stay because most of the of the places declined their rental application. The complainant believes the reason may be related to their religion.”

CAIR says it “may” be related to their religion? Where is CAIR’s renowned sense of fairness?
Why did CAIR choose to include this ridiculous claim of bias in their report?

CAIR goes on with more chilling claims of bias:

“10/28/2001 A man of Middle Eastern descent reported his car's rear glass window broken by an unknown person.”

An “unknown person” breaks the window of a Muslims’ car and it rises to the level of a bias crime? Now CAIR has the capability to read the mind of an “unknown person?” CAIR can just look at a broken window and deduce it was broken due to the religious beliefs of the car owner?

CAIR provides another curious claim of bias:

“12/28/2001 The rear glass of a Muslim man's car was shattered while parked in his driveway. He believes the incident is bias-motivated, although he said he does not know of any neighbor with anti-Muslim sentiment.”

How can CAIR possibly defend this as an example of another bias crime against Muslims?

CAIR then relates the problems faced by Muslim inmates in the prison system:

“3/22/2001 An administrator reportedly discriminated against Muslim inmates. Many times they would order materials and the prison would receive it but the administrator would not let them get it."

CAIR provides zero examples of what the inmates were ordering. Was it pizza? Perhaps some wood working tools? Is CAIR aware that in American prisons, inmates are strictly limited on what items they can order for delivery? Prisons, by necessity, must strictly control all items coming into the facility for safety/security reasons!

And finally, one of our favorite examples of anti-Muslim bias:

“4/28/2001 A Muslim couple were not allowed to visit a relative because one of them refused to remove her hijab.”

Does this mean that CAIR advocates local authorities using their police powers to force homeowners to grant admittance to unwelcome relatives? ACAIR feels that homeowners may refuse entry to their homes to anyone at anytime without having to fear the police. Does CAIR really want the government to force homeowners to accept unwelcome visitors in their homes?

They have simply taken a page from the "militant minority" handbook-

a good many of those links are to Afro-AMerican college students who in fact perpatrated the crime to "draw attention to potential racial hatred" - and before they were caught were busy demanding more money for racial studies programs.

That's because what happened at the University of Mississippi in the early morning hours of Nov. 6 has all the markings of a fake hate crime: An apparent racial hoax committed by black students against black students, but blamed on whites -- until the suspects were nabbed last week.

Why not? THe government has forced private clubs and organizations to admit people that they didn't want in their clubs. I'm surprised you never thought of where that might lead to. Why else do you think prominent feminists are bothering with The Masters Golf Tournament? Because they do in fact expect success.

I had one try that one on me last year - the nurse informed that I would step out while the doctor examined my son, I asked why, it wasn't a full physical, she responded it was his routine, I informed her not so with my son and in the future I requested other doctors instead.

I suspect it's some new form of multi-culti interference in the parent's space. At no time while I was growing up did any Doctor ever suggest such a thing- they cannot adminster care without the parent's written approval, so what would be the point?

I can't say I've lost a significant other, but I've lost friends over issues concerning the Middle East. I felt lousy about it for a while, but I simply couldn't compromise my principles and my hard-won opinions.

What I came to realize was that I was much better-informed than they were. I argued facts and history, while they spouted propagandistic phrases and outright lies which they had picked up here and there. They could not dispute my facts, and that made them angry - they took that anger out on me personally instead of asking themselves honestly whether their inability to refute my arguments should have triggered a re-examination of their opinions.

People don't like to be shown up to be ignorant sheep. Being on the losing end of an argument frustrates them. Then they make it personal.

Your pediatrician friend is practising the cheapest kind of intellectual laziness and dishonesty. Instead of reading up on the issues in reputable publications and making up her own mind, she swallows the pap fed to her by this or that "authority" without question.

Evidently, she is hearing what she is already predisposed to believe, which indicates to me that there's some antisemitism in the woodpile there.

You're better off without her - after all, would you really want someone with such a pernicious mentality raising your kids?

There is no love lost between Hindus and Moslems.

That 30 was probably found to be "credible" by some whitey or a Moslem Afro-Black brother ,snivelling, whinny, liberal twit.

This is Cairs attempt at using"reverse racism," card.
But unlike Afro-Americans they won't get as far, thanks to site like LGFs effort in exposing Islam for what it is...
a murderous cult.

Forbes: Millioneer Mullahs.

Now why does that remind me of the Catholic Church.
Could it be that the Catholic Church fathers were filthy rich while the masses were filthy poor, as in the ME.
Could it be that like the mullahs the catholic pope advocated the annihilation of the Jews and instigated governments to committ genocide against the Jews.
Now we know that while the catholic priest advocated virtue and sexual purity they induldged in every form of sexual degeneracy.........I bet the mullahs are a bunch of rip-roaring pedophiliac faggots.

History repeating itself thru Islam.

I suspect it's some new form of multi-culti interference in the parent's space.

Actually new laws have been passed requiring physicians to report child abuse to the state child services agency. If they fail to do so, they can be charged/ punished for not informing the proper authorities.

Just another form of the state looking after its denizens--- as if the parents are not capable. It takes a village to raise a child you know.

Well, this little gem of a story can be be made to backfire, if Dr. Pipes' column today has any merit. Discarding War's Rules

From the article:

While morally commendable, Harris argues, the West's not responding to Muslim ruthlessness with like ruthlessness carries a high and rising price. It allows Muslim political extremists of various stripes to fantasize that they earned their power, when in fact that power derives entirely from the West's arch-civilized restraint.

34 complaints out of 1,000? As # 8 wordwarp stated: There were 3,000 complaints of harrassment by non-radical Muslims against 19+ Islamofascists on 9/11. American blood is still being spilled in cesspools like Afghanistan and Iraq; now the UN wants the US into Liberia. Will Nigeria be far behind? Until we meet the enemy, and play their game to conquer, and, yes, I do mean conquer, the nonsense of Islamofascism using unstable countries will continue to grow, and with no good reason for the Islamofscists to slow down or stop. Because we play war so nice, that very denecy is being used against us, not to the benefit of the US, the West, or Islam, for that matter. So, CAIR, when you start to "document" "harrassment" against Muslims in the US, take this idea of our potential ruthless reactions against the gutless RoP, put it in your pipe, and smoke it. That's where all your fantastic claims come from anyway.

The less slanted of our local dead tree news sources had the headline "claims of civil rights violations 'credible'".

I bet the mullahs are a bunch of rip-roaring pedophiliac faggots.

As has been noted here before, they do indeed indulge in pedophilia. In fact, they do so enmass as it's considered ok. I'm willing to bet anyone thats been in Afghanistan since it's liberation has as much out in the open. The Taliban had banned it.

It usually consists of an adult male "buying" in one way or another a young male (child) and taking care of him while abusing him.

SUch behaviour was condoned in all primative cultures in the mediterranean area- the ancient grreks and romans as well, until such time as the evolved to the point were they thought of women as more then just child bearers. Once woemn were looked upon as true "mates", thepedophilia (and homosexuality) ended.

#68 Amy-

I can't say I've lost a significant other, but I've lost friends over issues concerning the Middle East. I felt lousy about it for a while, but I simply couldn't compromise my principles and my hard-won opinions.

Oh, but Amy, surely you can say that, you did to make a multi-culti point, anyway:

lost my husband when he was 30, and all I can say is that I'm glad I didn't reject the heartfelt expressions of sympathy and support which I received from many people. I didn't tell them that unless they'd been widowed they could have no fucking idea of what I was feeling. Loss comes in many forms, but it's still loss.

How f**ing pathetic, fabricate a tragedy to prove you have some moral standing greater then someone else- truly disgusting.

Unless of course that's another "Amy"-

I'm sorry, Amy, I read far to fast.

I am very sorry. PLease accept my apologies.

Um, Robert Brandtjen, Amy (#68) was responding to post #16. You may want to read it in order to understand what kind of loss Amy was talking about.

Got in before me, I see :-)
