From Radical to Moderate in 14 Hours

Sun, Nov 9, 2003 at 2:49:17 pm PST

Earlier today I posted a link to this AP story on Islamic violence during Ramadan, but didn’t notice that the Saudi cleric the Associated Press touts as a “moderate”...

Saleh al-Fauzan, a member of Saudi Arabia's senior clerics committee, told Saudi radio that attacks in his capital Saturday blamed on Muslim extremists violated "the sanctity of Ramadan."

...is the same person I wrote about yesterday when he was quoted saying, “Slavery is a part of Islam.” (Hat tip: Robert Spencer.)
