One of the pioneers. Damn. Look at SRV right around the 3:03 mark as Lonnie reminds SRV of where he got that vibrato from. Great player.

As the title of one of Lonnie’s songs from his 2001 “Roadhouses & Dance Halls” album put it, he was too rock for country, too country for rock and roll. And he was on the Chicago-based blues label Alligator for many years, making him a true triple threat. May he rest in peace.
