Maryland Republicans did the same and lost to the first Black Democratic Governor, Wes Moore. Works for me. I assume Washington is a pretty blue state so Republicans might as well send out their clowns.

Yep, but the current Democratic Governor is retiring (we have no term limits but he lasted for 3). And we have a jungle primary with like 20 people now so it is possible that only Democrats make it through the primary. I hitnk it is very likely that no Republican makes the election.
