Zinni to Promote Book

Here comes another retired official with another anti-Bush book to promote on 60 Minutes: Gen. Zinni: ‘They’ve Screwed Up’. (Hat tip: Ann.)

Zinni is famous for being the ineffective, underachieving “Special Envoy” to the Middle East who we affectionately dubbed “Zinni the Yoyo” in 2002. The terror gangs used his visits for ready-made publicity, staging a suicide bombing every time Zinni came to call, sending him home emptyhanded again and again while he kept bleating about arranging a “truce.”

And even the Palestinians distrusted him—unlike 60 Minutes.

UPDATE: Just like the Richard Clarke book, Clancy and Zinni’s book is being published by Simon and Schuster, who are owned by Viacom, who also own CBS News, who produce, oddly enough, 60 Minutes. (Hat tip: Full Disclosure.)
