Tough Day for the Jihadis
Israel continues their policy of striking hard at the leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad: Senior Islamic Militant Wounded in Gaza Blast.
GAZA, Gaza Strip (Reuters) - An explosion wounded a senior Islamic Jihad field commander in a Gaza refugee camp Thursday in what the Palestinian militant group called an Israeli assassination attempt.
Earlier, the Israeli army split the Gaza Strip into three parts and shut its border with Egypt, hours after militants fired a fresh round of crude rockets at the southern Israeli town of Sderot, causing alarm but no injuries.
The army had no immediate comment on the blast that tore through a house in Rafah refugee camp in the southern Strip, wounding the field commander, Mohammed Sheikh al-Khalil, a second Islamic Jihad militant, a 10-year-old boy and a woman.
Islamic Jihad activists said an Israeli drone had fired a missile at the dwelling. Residents could not confirm the account.
Khalil is wanted by Israel over his alleged involvement in an attack that killed five soldiers in Rafah in May. Residents said the army had distributed leaflets during past raids in the camp warning them not to cooperate with Khalil.
And meanwhile in Gaza City, Fadi Owemer will find no virgins waiting for him in the afterlife, due to his own schtoopidity:
In Gaza City, Fadi Owemer, a member of al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, was killed when a bomb he was apparently making exploded prematurely in an open area, Palestinian militant sources said.
