Did John Kerry break the rules of the presidential debate by bringing something on stage? The Daily Recycler has video of Kerry removing something from his coat and placing it on the lectern at the beginning of the show. The official memorandum of understanding states:

(c) No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.

LGF operative zombie has a series of freeze frame images of the Kerry video. Notice the straight edge of the object, strongly suggesting it was a piece of paper or an index card.
